    Don't trust the AC shill. He's just a toxic 'influencer' who clearly hates Reiza. He is part of a cabal who want to bring downfall to the best sim in all of racing. All he had to do was change his camera settings and the physics would be fixed but he never tries it FOR SOME REASON. Its time to say enough is enough.

      Did you even watch the video? He was actually positive about AMS2 because they improved it so much. It still has a long way to go with the tyre physics as the slip angles are just ridiculously big compared to reality, you can see this no matter what FOV or camera angle you use!

    I have to say, Le Mans on AMS2 is bloody awesome. I'm loving it. Putting all debates to one side, I had so much fun in the Mclren just lapping until the sun went down - 25% time acceleration, cloudy weather, mixed grid. I really think they did a great job, so glad it's in AMS2 as I race offline. I'm a happy sim freakazoid.

    AMS2 does seem to respond to trail braking for me personally. However its not in the same way that AC1 or AMS1 does so I really had to adjust my style unfortunately. Since it runs and looks so great in VR and has the content I'm after, I do still use it often. Hoping they continue to improve the physics!

    • @GamerMuscleVideos
      @GamerMuscleVideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      You can still trail brake obviously , but as I said in the video its really not like the load is going to the front its like you are just removing grip from the rear / as if the car is actually just a single wheel rather than 4 wheels. The cars rotate much better on power in AMS2 regardless of car setup so you really just want to get on power ASAP rather than at a more natural mid point / the point in a corner you would in other simulators.
      You just have to drive ams2 in a super specific way that's basically the same way you had to drive project cars 2 ( though slightly toned down)

      @GamerMuscleVideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BrandonRauser I don't think dirt rally 1-2 or Wrc have a central pivot but lots of people feel it does probably due to how the cars generally respond to input and how grip returns.
      With AMS2 , RBR and other off road stuff the cars tend to keep sliding sideways longer / the whole car tends to slide out more than just rear or front which I think then feels more natural.
      There can be lots of reasons why people feel a car is rotating from a specific location some maybe real some.might just be perception.
      But yah Im not sure where the dirt 2 rotating from centre thing started from 🤣 and then how true it is or if it's even right or wrong.

      @@GamerMuscleVideos The "removing grip from the rear" thing is definitely how it feels for me in most AMS2 cars. • @GamerMuscleVideos
      @GamerMuscleVideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      They all have problems but some have more problems than other and some specific problems are more of an issue than others - Nothing is ever perfect but that does not stop one from being able to quantifiably still say that X is better or worse than Y in specific ways.
      saying "every sim out there has problems " is basically saying " Please don't compare or lets just say everything is the same so nobody points out what is actually broken about my sim of choice"
      Its the same as saying "all Politian's and political parties are the same" and so I'm not going to vote ... its like yah the parties you can vote for suck and don't represent what you want and are largely full of BS but even in the most broken democracies with limited choice one political party will on balance be better or worse than another for specific things or be more or less likely to represent what a person wants or what is objectively better or worse for a country.

    The one thing that kills AC and RF2 for me is the god awful ai. AMS2 and ACC, in that order, are the only sims where I feel the ai is actually racing me and not just racing a line and driving through me. I believe the physics in ASM2 and then including the ai and all round solid content gives it the best sim for off-line racing bar none. An important part of the update is the new championship modes. It's really obvouse in what ways AMS2 is massively off , just as it's really obvouse that take on helicopters are massively off from DCS helicopters.
      So sure if I was wrong it would be an issue but I'm not...
      I don't have to be senna to tell you that mario kart is less realistic than gran turismo.
      It's funny how when an e-sports driver says exactly what I have said all the fanboys agree with them... Because they listen to the authority not the actual points being made.

      @@GamerMuscleVideos Yes, many e-sports experts have about the same amount of real-world experience as you do, which is why their commentary is also meaningless in terms of realism. They can give good advice about how best to exploit or maximize performance on a piece of software, but not how it relates to reality. I am sure you are familiar with Josef Newgarden's controversial comments about iRacing. He could have been doing an AMS 2 advert... th-cam.com/video/UoX9M2yuNTA/w-d-xo.html
      Think about those comments versus yours. As I said, it is only the authoritative presentation I am rejecting. You can have whatever opinions you want, especially about what would make the game fun or better. But sorry, your judgements about its realism, especially versus other software, are close to meaningless. Just express them as opinions or impressions instead of facts and all will be well in the credibility department.
      And yes, I have driven several different classes of race cars and karts in real life--enough experience to know not to make such strong pronouncements.

    The LMDh cars are absolutely amazing and the new graphics updates are quite impressive. I know AMS2 is far from perfect but each update does get better and better and the last few have been quite amazing. I had many hours on project cars 2 so I've always viewed AMS2 as the real Project Cars 3. If they would make the drafting physics more like Project Cars 2 on the ovals I know a lot of people that would play AMS2 religously. Its so close but just not quite there yet.

    I kind of understand the fundamentals of your critic towards car behavior, but from my point of view it varys greatly between cars and in general is not that severe. I do have to trailbrake, if I want to be fast ams2 and acceleration out of the corner is rotation rather than drifting for me. I dirve mainly rf2 and ams2 and I like the rf2 physics more, but the gap has been closing reasently. I don't even touch ac1 anymore.

    • @GamerMuscleVideos
      @GamerMuscleVideos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You still trail brake but you get on gas way sooner in ams2 than most other Sims as gas rotates rear in just about all situations more effectively than anything else. Most other Sims if you went into corners like one does in AMS2 gas would cause understeer or the rear to be uncatchable ams2 you can drive on gas like a mad person with car rotating as if the wheels are irrelevant.
      I still wonder if there is some weard diff issue with AMS2 , cars handle as if they have really locked dif in general , but combined with some of the most forgiving tires in all of simracing.

      @Pandomar1 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So u are saying that in ams2 its Hard to have unwanted understeer by careless throtle use in rwd cars. I have tu test that in purpose cause I dont change my throttle use so much between sims. But I tiried all ready in rf2 with bmw m2, in that car its almost impossible to have understeer when u accelerate.

      Have to say tougth I don´t drive gt3 car at all. So I can´t anytihing about them. I would say that the vintage porsche has plenty of understeer under acceleration, if u drive it like normal car and it turns allmost only by sliding, but that feels natural for me as I learned to dirve rwd car with locked diff in ice and snow 😀. One thing I would say that ams2 has low friction at low speeds

      Codemasters owns Slightly Mad Studios as of 2019, so they could have easily used the Madness Engine for WRC instead of UE4 or Ego, and have people on staff who know the ins and outs to help with the transition to this other technology base. When they acquired them, I thought it was a real possibility, and there were some 20km routes in PCARS so we know it could handle stages on the length scale of Pikes Peak Full for DR. I still think it would have been so much better than dealing with all the technical issues UE4 has created for them. Issues they're still trying to fix and failing at. Still would love to see a rally game in this engine as well. WRC is an endless bummer of technology getting in the way of enjoyment, on both the visual and performance side of things.

    While I respect your opinion, been on a real track or two and have to say AMS2 has it good, even though I'm also an AC, ACC, and iRacing fanboi. Those have their better moments too.

      I didn't say you can't trail brake ,
      I said you do t trail brake in AMS2 like you do in many of the other sims.
      The way you have to drive in AMS2 is super wonky some cars better than others but it's still got the core issues PC2 has.
      Just a overly sloppy sim like driving on warn out cut slicks or weard road tires rather than slick tires.
      It's like the physics are operating in slow motion , which I think is why some people like it because you can have the reaction times of a sloth and precision of a gibbon and feel like senna through corners.

      @@GamerMuscleVideos hmm I guess it's all about personal perception and preference. Been around in Sim Racing since GTR2, plenty of time on and off in iRacing, Assetto Corsa and others, plenty of real track time, been in and built professional racing simulators for race car drivers, taken coaching from these drivers and heard their opinions of "sims", and while they have their own different nuances, I wouldn't go as far as the extremes you mention here. Think that's a bit overstated. While I do miss the tire model in AC and ACC, it's been progressively improved than before and I think what you are saying here is more on par with what it was than what it is.
      Also I trail brake the same across all the sims, yeah you get a little different reference, but not that much off. Not that I'm an expert on this but based on your video and wheel position and rotations, I think your steering transitions like depicted put you skating on the edge of grip.

      I didn't say you can't trail brake , you can trail brake in any racing game with analog input.
      The point is how the car responds to trail braking and to what degree and what point you go from trail braking to power , also how prone the rear is to stepping out when braking at the different speeds and how it does that.
      And then what really matters is how grip comes and goes from tires and in what way.

      Ah yes the compelling counterpoint of "you don't know what you are talking about" wow you really added to the conversation !
      Funny enough I know people that own and drive race cars and talk to lots of people about sims and sim physics , it's weird that lots of them agree with me given that " I have no idea what I'm talking about"
      God forbid someone have a lose idea what slick tires behave like from being in a few race cars , watching videos and also talking to actual race drivers.. nope no way they could rightfully come to the conclusion that AMS2 has huge controllable slip and some rather weard behavior.
      I'd imagine all the people in the comments under this video that agree and have added to what I have said are wrong as well.
      I suppose other people that have made videos talking about how the slip in AMS2 is a quite different from other sims are also totally wrong.

      There are RL GT3 drivers who think ACC is the one (which I think I crazy but what do I know?)

      I don't delete comments unless they are attacking people , auto moderation will remove spam , links or rude comments so maybe you need to work on how you communicate.
      Try trail braking in AC,AMS1, iRacing , RF2 and pay attention to how the cars roll into the corners more.
      Not sure what's going on with AMS2 always seemed to me like it has an issue simulating differentials and wight transfer or it's just some random thing from the tires.
      I don't know what causes it but you have to approach AMS2 like PC2 if you are trying to go fast , which is quite a different way to how you approach other Sims.
      It really likes you to get on the gas way earlier than other Sims and rotate the car from gas more than other Sims , where you generally rotate the car fairly equally between steering gas brake and the wight transfer of the car.

    As always I 99% agree with GM, but... I do believe we MUST dissect physics starting from 2024 as sims are getting so close in quality, for example: AC and RF2 seems to be on par overall physics wise, BUT... I now clearly notice that particularly tyre model is much much more advanced on RF2 with natural feel of scrubbing, skipping, bouncing, traction gain and regain very viceral and dynamic, AC feels more digital and synthetic. AMS2 seems to be struggling with inertia, weight transfer related physics even though tyre physics are also more advanced than AC and a bit worse than RF2.

      Its not "garbadge" has best AI of all the sims (aside from maybe iracing) and does run well and look nice in VR , just not as realistic to drive as other sims in many ways.@@xXxBo5sANaCxXx

      @@xXxBo5sANaCxXx Actually as games, I'd say most SIMS are garbage games. Without the Modding community AC would be terrible. iRacing charges way too much for what's on offer, if it was any other game ACC would be a DLC. SIMs are hardly ever complete games I'd say AMS 2 is the most complete out of them all. If it's terrible then so are the rest.

    I demand a refund for my time! Or, a cup of tea. Whichever is easier. Thanking you, GM.

    Fortunately the AI is realistic because when I see the behavior of certain idiots in this video it doesn't make me want to play multiplayer!
