Cool video. Thanks for the helpful tricks. Have you thought about indexing your videos so TH-cams shows the individual segments of the video/content? I‘d love to be able to jump over the parts I know already.

I'd love a separate video on what can be done with running multiple instances of OBS at once. In particular two things, the performance hit and the viability of it as an alternative to source record, which is highly unstable. Keep up the top notch OBS content!

I use Source record to record my webcam separated and I haven't had a single crash or instability yet. I'm aware of the plugin issues but nothing happened to me. By the way, I always encode the Source Record with the CPU, maybe it helps?

my primary machine has a 5950x and a 3090. When I enable hardware accelerated gpu scheduling it causes my gpu to crash when using nvidia broadcast plugins such as background remover or audio noise reduction. Further, I noticed that hardware accelerated gpu scheduling makes obs use about 30% of my gpu vs. turning it off when it only takes about 20% of my gpu (with nothing else running).

if you run mutliple OBS i recommend use this parameters ^^--profile "Profile Name" --scene "Scene name" --multi. They are rly nice if you use many Scene Collectionand Profiles :D. And if you use more than 1 OBS dont use the compatibility Option, use just propeties and Advanced instead. If you use Compatibility Admin, all your Shortcuts (not so nicce on a weak dual System) are starting as admin.

I found I had performance issues w/ my cam and /or OBS if I had them use the GPU. When my cam software wasn't in the foreground, or if it was on another monitor it would drop frames. Ended up using vcam (and forcing it to only use my 5950x) and using x264 in OBS to solve this. Was bummed to have these issues even w/ a 3090. Maybe I need to revisit it and tinker more, not sure I ever did the admin bit, but shouldn't be needed in Win 11? :(

I'm not a streaming veteran or anything, but I'd much rather have a clean 720p60 stream with headroom than a 1080p60 stream that runs into issues sometimes. And remember that most (or at least a lot of) viewers are watching on their phones, where the small screen size means that 480p looks fairly crisp

Let me explain - this setting affects presentation modes used in Windowed and Borderless Windowed DX10/DX11 games. Presentation is the method for getting your game’s rendered frames on your display in the most optimal way. [this feature is currently available in Windows 11 Preview builds]
