ck...you've been a huge help in vinyl wrapping over the years man. thank you so much! because of your tips over the years I was able to make a 2hr long how to wrap a motorcycle for beginners tutorial. it's helped a ton of people! I always encourage people to check your channel out because it's helped me a ton! this shit is dope man! I'll be routing my moto people to this video when they ask me about tank wrapping haha
Adobo, talk about paying it forward, you've helped me and so many others in our tight knit MC community. Not only do you make easy to watch, very informative, and well produced videos; you really have this way about you, a very calm and collective manner which really translates, keeping me calm, (and I'm sure know how big a difference that can make.) You're like this grand master moto vinyl guru, I was on the fence when I first looked into wrapping my bike and you made it seem achievable, you sir inspire confidence and for that I'm grateful. Thanks -Steve
Dammm someone trying this for the first time or so especially on odd-shaped tanks like this are only going to run into difficulty after difficulty but that shouldn't stop you from trying. This guy is a pro and can read the reaction of the materials and then try to counter react against it some times many times over to get the wrap to do what he wants but all the time he is accessing and watching everything and making small but crucial adjustments and in my opinion just watching won't give you the knowledge and experience to undertake a job this difficult but who knows maybe after 5 or 6 attempts and a few extra helping hands you might get success, just don't forget the pros make things look a lot more easy to do than they really are ! This was great to watch I think most of us were on the edge of their seat wishing they could at least hold the tank from slipping, the wrap has some really interesting properties and learning to deal with them must be a challenge (great job) Whoever did the repairs to the tank did a third rate job and missed many imperfections and indeed it should have been cut back to increase contact with the wrap .
Christian.....very nice of you to do that wrap for a charity. When you showed the gas tank at the beginning of the video, I had visions of it being as difficult as the other gas tank vid you did. You really knocked this one out even with all of the different tapers on the tank. Great wrap, and I know they're going to love it when they see it. My best, Scott
I knew right from the beginning without it being on a tank stand (bolted or not) handling it was going to be crazy, definitely stressful, plus knowing the primer wasnt finish sanded for adherence. You killed it! 💪👊
I am in the process of wrapping my Harley Fatboy in Vvivid Satin chrome red and its been real challenge - this video and your other motorcycle tank wrap has helped me greatly. Wrapping the front of the tank is the biggest challenge as essentially its a half ball but by watching you pulling the vinyl from front to back which made the wrap fall into place when I had to do the sides. Next time I stop in on my way to the Yummy market I will bring my Harley and show you how successful I've been by watching your vids. Thanks so much Christian!!!
Great Job. After watching two vinyl wrap gas tank videos of yours, I have the confidence to do this myself. I’m going to give it my best shot. I’m sure I’ll be successful. Failure is only a step towards success. Thanks for the shares. NYC
Dude, I lost my installer and had an $80,000 2020 F450 crane truck conversion to wrap... I have never wrapped a vehicle solo in my life... I had to deal with the complex curves of the cab bottom at the lower corners and was always so concerned about stretching a commercial wrap... I got over that fear from watching your videos. A $3,000 3/4 cab wrap and I nailed it due to your coaching. It is a double cab... and I also wrapped a toolbox on the bed... the customer was ecstatic! Now I have the trucks little brother... same F450 only a single cab and 12 fleet vehicles from a company they just acquired to wrap. I can't thank you enough! I had some "oh s*!t moments, but I backed off, read the vinyl, and took my time... much like this gas tank. Just break it off in small manageable chunks and keep moving. Yes, I am going to the 3M certification course just because I do want formal training, but your online training has made all the difference in the world. Thanks bro!
This is great to hear. It's definitely possible to achieve great results doing installs on your own. You also learn a few more tricks. I've been wrapping alone for so long that even when an experienced installer comes to help, it usually slows things down. Like you said, just keep on moving.
@@CKWrapsChristian, do you have any suggestions for when you do need to hold something down when you wrap it? Let's just us a motorcycle helmet for instance?
I just figure it out on the spot. I have a couple of motorcycle gas tanks I did solo that weren't mounted. The videos are on my channel somewhere. Improvisation is probably one of the most important things to use.
So this made a huge difference for me. I was having a really hard time with wrinkles when i would round edges like a bumper as it rolls under the car. Or any time the lines would form a V. Glassing the wrinkles out instead of chasing them with my squeegee really sorted out my issues. Just an amateur doing my own car is all and no training other than CK Wraps. Anyway it was like a light coming on when i saw him glass the rounded edges of the tank and simply pull the wrinkles away. Thanks man. Such a difference i just did my side mirror with ease. I mean it was really simple now that i know wtf.
Man, I fought my tank and did it in three pieces. Got it looking good! Rode it to work today, in the sun where I had used knifeless tape, it shrank up and now I have to start over. Did I stretch too much? It's such a complex design, I'm about to give up. You make it look so easy.
What a super-patient person you are...also a great idea about getting creative when using separate pieces...I'm wanting to wrap my dirt bike plastics and I'll be adding graphics afterwards so the graphics will cover any seams I might have...thanks for posting.
I am gonna need therapy after watching this video. I cant tell you how many time I ripped off the vinyl in my mind and would have taken it into my paint booth. The person who did the body work on the tank should be fired, because your work will be graded on the final finish and someone who notices the poor body work will attribute it to the person who did the wrap never thinking that you had to negotiate complex angles and ridiculous corners having nothing to do with the substrate you hand before you. I commend you on your patience and positive attitude. I can tell you love and if not mastered your craft. Great Job
Hey man! This video was pretty cool... I got a (naked) bike that I want to wrap up, and now I know what can I expect from such a job... :D def. doable, just takes some time and some tries... what I'd like to ask is what's missing on the video... what you do with the bottom part? where do you cut it? how much you go under the tank? how can I make sure that it won't peel off at the edges? Thanks! :)
Good job man! That was one of the first things I tried to wrap; after much cursing and going through miles of wrap I ended up spray painting the damn thing!
unbelievable. There literally were drops of sweat falling from my forehead while trying to wrap a gastank in 3m colorflip. This video gave me some new motivation haha

Easily the most informative video on wrapping I've seen so far :) could have used it a week ago before wasting a tonne of material failing to do my helmet but oh well lol at least I'm not using expensive stuff :P
You are AMAZING. i love watching your videos as they are so great. You make it look sooo easy. i have done a few tanks and shudder every time im asked to do one
Just getting into this, and you taught me alot thanks, gave me qn idea to use a wheel that can be clamped in place. curves are difficult and your way helps very much, great job. All the best 👍🏻🙂
That looks fantastic. Think I would've given up after 20 minutes of wrinkles.....mind you, I get frustrated with packing tape! Would be great to see a picture of the finished tank and the complete bike. Hope they raised some good money for the charity. Was a pleasure to watch you demonstrate your skills and experience. Only about 4 minutes in and this makes me hate life, doing the front of a harley fairing for my first time wrapping (not smart, I know) and this looks exactly like me trying to do this thing. Thank you so much for doing this video, it let's me know that I might be able to do this... or get rid of the bike when my bf has his back turned lol
Already commented on this as a question. But after watching a tip for gas tanks is wrapping it on a bar stool so you can pull past the bottom corners it just helps without the table in the way.

I've watched probably all your videos. My first wrap was on my Indian Motorcycle... it came out pretty darn good. Only some minor basically unnoticeable imperfections, mostly glue lines.

Awesome. I’m trying to do my Ducati Monster tank in one piece and already got into to trouble twice. Therefore running into my third try.😩 half to the tank looked great but end up with so much slack on the other half and could not fix. Probably did not stretched the vinyl enough in multiple directions.
the title is a little off, Impossible? nothing is impossible with this guy! so amazing work, you really inspire me, sir. I'm currently trying to learn your way of vinyl thru watching your videos and I'm really learning a lot! Thank you!
I wrapped my harley softail deluxe tank. But just the sides as a second color. Also did the fenders fairly easy to do. The question I have is the harley metal emblem is really heavy and do you think it would be better to open the area behind the wrap or lay it on the wrap cause I'm concerned with it lifting because of the logo weight what do you think about it. I used viviid. Gloss black.
Are you talking about the sticky emblems? If so my guess would be to mount to tank directly. Because if you are in say Texas heat like us I am betting over time if you stick it to the vinyl its going to fall off at some point. Where as if it was stuck on to the paint i would think it would be less a chance tot fall off.
@@VRRider no it's a metal harley tank logo. Has to weigh like 10oz or something. My feeling is that the emblem is eventually going to drag the wrap off the tank if I apply it directly to the wrap vs the tank I'll just cut out the section of the tank I'm going to put it on
@@thebeardedgingerontheinter3256 I would say it probably will depend on the heat in your area. If it was in Texas like we are I would probably put it on the paint if its cooler in your area then it most likely would be ok on the wrap. Just make sure your wrap is post heated to around 90 deg F and then cooled down to be sure it has maximum adhesion.
48:25 Whoooh! I've been doing that everytime you get all the corners/curves well placed. Hands down to you man, you're really one of my idols on vinyl wrapping 🙇♂️
What up Chris, is like to see you wrap a 4 wheeler. I have an 08 grizzly that is like to wrap myself so I searched it and though there are a few on TH-cam I'd much rather see you do it.
You are great. This is a work of art. Trying at the moment to wrap the rear upper tail seat on my Honda cbr 1000 rr. A nightmare I keep trying do do it from one peace without cutting the vinyl but .... probably I will need to borrow your brain 😂
I tried wrapping a tank today after watching your first one-piece tank wrap vid and failed miserably. I was using some cheap 3m which would crease everywhere, and it had nowhere near the stretch that the vinyl you’re using - what is it? I was going to try it again anyways , but this vid is perfect timing! Thanks for the great content!
My roll of high gloss Nardo Grey should be delivered today...... just getting geeked up for the challenge ahead of being a total wrap noob. should i have ordered more? do i have a good enough work surface? am i going to give up and cry? who knows!

Master of patience.
Hi !! after this tension.. you don't need to "heat" the tank .? to prevent retractation
dont you have got dust under the wrap?? thnx
48:25 Whoooh! I've been doing that everytime you get all the corners/curves well placed. Hands down to you man, you're really one of my idols on vinyl wrapping 🙇♂️
I was getting mad watches this 😆 u did well to keep your cool 😎
By 10:33 I was already exhibiting signs of PTSD. This video was my war.
My roll of high gloss Nardo Grey should be delivered today...... just getting geeked up for the challenge ahead of being a total wrap noob. should i have ordered more? do i have a good enough work surface? am i going to give up and cry? who knows!
