- Trail ride on my AdmitJet Armor, a chinese electric dirt bike (surron competitor). No lions, tigers, or bears, but there's a squirrel, a rabbit, and a moose. Close enough?
Includes some commentary on the bike and after-purchase support.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome 👏 looks like an amazing place to ride
Hi Brian, good to see your ride👌
thank you chief !
Looks like a fun ride bro
ya ya ya.......... keep the vids coming
They sold you a 500a controller version knowing the issue existed. Those jerks. Wait a few years and electric bikes are gonna be amazing. Also where did you buy this? How much? Ill buy the 500a ver for cheap any day.
I ordered from Secutronic on Alibaba for about $4300 including shipping to WA state. I have an AMA on reddit and also some more details in my previous video. I agree that in a few years there should be better bikes available. But already, people are importing this exact bike to the USA, putting their stickers on it, and selling for $8500+shipping+fees. Even though my experience hasn’t been 100% smooth, I don’t feel like I was ripped off-it feels like a pretty good deal to me! But I don’t think it’s an $8500 bike. Thank you for watching!
Hi Brian,
I am very curious about the behavior of the new controller. Let me know what the result is. I have the same AdmitJet as you, it contains a 500A controller (type YS 72500-24). I have found that throttle dead occurs when the rear wheel locks up for a very short time (around 0.5s) during braking. This is exactly what happened to you in another your video where you were going downhill and braking on gravel. When the wheel is locked for a longer time (around 1s or more) the problem does not appear.
Sorry for my bad english
Thanks for the feedback and enjoy the ride!
Thanks for your comment. I haven't installed the new controller yet. I will probably do it over the winter. I'll try to reproduce the problem with short braking.
So what’s your thoughts? I’d like to see how it stacks up to the surron ultra. I have an ultra and it’s been awesome so far. I guess the biggest thing is gonna be parts availability!
I dont own one of these bikes sadly, but I follow the main page for them on FB and a lot of the parts are pretty easily accessible, and even KTM swappable. They also have a site that has all of the parts and extras. So assuming the company keeps going, hopefully it will be repariable for a while.
I have both bikes, dude you can’t compare an Admin Jet to Surron Ultra. The biggest thing you notice with the Admin Jet is lack of quality. Very cheaply constructed. You don’t feel safe at high-speed. The shocks don’t last. The factory tires are junk. They last about 200 miles. There’s also constant electrical problems and I don’t feel any component of this bike. Is anywhere near the quality you find when you transition to a Surron. I live in Florida and all the electric bike dealers that were stocking these are no longer. I don’t recommend these to anyone
Looks just like KTM freeride, Like identical. May be made in the same factory.
His is chinese made far from Austrian made of quality of a ktm Free ride electric.
Do you still have this bike Brian? How has your experience been with it?
@@staninokla I do, but I barely ride it. Always want to ride my mountain bike. If you’re in the Spokane/N Idaho area, I am going to put it up for sale soon
@@brianl.2104 I have 2 of them and really enjoy them. I am concerned about the controllers. Did you replace yours?
@@staninokla nope it’s still the original one. I did buy their upgraded controller but it’s still in the box and I don’t really know what it’s supposed to do. More power I guess and it was supposed to fix stalling issues but I only rarely ran into that.
@@brianl.2104 when you get ready to sell it let me know. If I’m in the area I might buy it. You video was really good 👍
It’s for sale: spokane.craigslist.org/mcy/d/liberty-lake-2022-admitjet-armor/7768637750.html
How much was this bike total with shipping and tax i can never get a strait estimate out of those people at Alababa app
I bought mine Nov 2022 and it was $3599 + $750 shipping so total $4349. They have a bunch of different listings though, some had higher base price but cheaper shipping. All ended about the same anyway.
What kind of range do you get on the bike? Also does the charger accept 110v or do you need a 220v outlet?
I have not done a range test, sorry. I ride for a couple hours and then I'm tired and I still have 30-40% left, so range hasn't been an issue. But as you can tell I'm a relative beginner to off-road riding.
Standard US grounded 110v outlet. 🔌
Which battery are you using?
It's the 72v 60ah that came with the bike.
Junk like the rest of them . would rather save up for a ktm freeride or a varg and get a much better bike .
You can buy like 4 of these for the price of the Stark Varg! Whole different class of bike.
I'd throw 3k at a good time any day
