I have a 2011 A5 couple 2.0T TFSI car for 9 years now. Other than the oil consumption issue, so far I have no problems yet. But I'm really nervous about it esp. with videos like yours and from the comments below. It's really good on gas, drive very smooth and have always been very reliable.
The only reason I hung on to it for this long is because it's one of the most beautiful designed car I have ever seen. After 9 years, I'm still mesmerized by it's looks.

I had Audi A5 TDI 2.0 2013 model. Bought it used with 190000km on it. Start stop stopped working, but this was due to a wet/faulty cruise control sensor/radar (the one located in the front bumper that measures the distance of cars in front). When visited a garage, they said the sensor is completely gone and it would cost 4000 Euros to replace. I didn't replace it and kept driving like that until it started working again after it got dry on its own. Mind you it took about 3 months during summer heat until one day I just started the car and it started working. With that also the start/stop malfunction was gone. If you buy one, make sure the radar is not located in the front bumper as it may get wet and accumulate rust during rainy season. Poor design in the side of Audi really. Some Audis don't have it there so make sure of that.

Why such beautiful car has to have so difficult electronic systems? After owning VW passat b6 1.9d 77kw and audi avant b6 1.9d 96kw which both were crazy money pits and in one case i even swapt engine, not counting all electronic failures etc. I'm simply afraid of vag cars. Switched to e46 3.0d 135kw, had 0 issues except fuel economy. Looking forward to something newer, but it seems like there is nothing better than e90 or e60.

@@Qsblogs23 It's an oil consumption fault, and it will eventually ruin the engine. Essentially what you have to do is to remove the engine, take it apart, reseal absolutely everything and get new pistons and piston rings. It's a manufacturer oversight and that problem is prevelant in every 1.8 and 2.0 TFSI engines. It's a costly procedure (in my country it costs about 5000 euros to fix) but after that the engine runs like a top. and usualy about once a year i would get the "add a litre of oil" message, instead of just panicking and pouring in a litre of oil, i would take it to the levelest bit of ground localy, swich the engine off, let the oil drain into the sump then dip it, every time except once i found that
sure enough it needed some oil, now i dont know maybe audi has removed the
dipstick so that sensible folk cant check for themselves, i'm surprised some one who works in or has experience of the motor trade would not recomend dipping first, but i digress, i'm just a thick welder with no car mechanicing experience what so ever🫢

Not everyone has the experience to be able to sort this issue out by themselves. Plus the add oil message is common issue with 2.0 tfsi engines so just adding oil wouldn’t sort out the issue, not so sure on the v6 TFSI. But good point, the levelest ground bit does help 😄
