Kat says here there is a trailer harness installed on the Tiguan but that requires dealership activation. The fitting of the harness shown here bypasses the VW wiring? Or does the dealer have to activate regardless. Just for clarification.

Nvm the lighter all my wires are short by about 6" to each tail light and I'm installing on a 2015 Tiguan like in the video

I dont understand why you wouldn't just activate the harness already in the vehicle ? Or find a way to activate it yourself. Or am I missing something

@@-Firestorm I tried that, didn't work, Obd can switch it to enabled, but then it gives a message that the required module is not present.

Scotch locks were designed by satin and are just not good enough!!

There are scotch locks designed for inside the vehicle and ones designed to be used outside the vehicle. The outside ones (Typically blue) have a weatherproof material that prevents water from getting inside and rusting. Most people don't use the correct scotch lock and this leads to issues. If the correct type is used, they will last for years.

NEVER Connect your 12v positive and then route it through the car! shocking advice.

The fuse had not yet been installed therefore the wire did not yet have electrical current thru it. But thanks for your concern!
