I just did this hitch today. If you scrape away the rubber like coating on the frame rail then spry paint it to prevent rust it is very easy to get the hitch into place. Also, on one side (does not matter which on) I treaded the bolt to the front mounting hole and used a small strap (wire would work as well) through that same hole on the hitch. Hang the strap that is attached to the hitch on that bolt as support then get the other side started. Then remove the strap and bolt that side. With one side suspended by the strap or wire you are not fighting the whole weight and awkwardness of the hitch. Hope this helps.

I could see that working. And I hope your comment does help someone. I've put in quit a few bolt on hitches this one stands out, and if i could go back I would do it differently. But we make the mistakes so hopefully you don't have to.

This video is true life. I did the same thing on a 22 Tiguan and it was a fine line between technique and learn as you go.

3 Hours i got it done later lol 🤣, if i only knew to move that damn bumper frame around 😮. I was using a screwdriver to align holes which was a pain in the ass LOL.

I get it. I've installed a few of these and I feel like this, one was the weirdest one.

Metric 1/2 inch? Why not call it a 13mm?
For those people who do not know, they would probably go look for a “metric 1/2 “
    Like blinker fluid!!!
