ford's new oil specification WSS-M2C171=F1 is for powerstroke engines. apparently the old specs were not good enough on wear
I ran into an RV hot shot yesterday...I was telling him i got a 6.4 and I guess I'm just waiting for it to detonate cause everything online says it's gonna happen...he asked how many miles I have and I informed him 130,000 and he laughed and said buddy I have 465,000 and I've only had 1 cab off cause his up pipes replaced...he said he did deletes at around 130,000 and highly suggest I get them done if I want it to last and said just be meticulous about maintenance and it will treat you right...he also said he was running a 200 hp tune and never had the heads studded just said don't drive it like it's a dragster and you'll be ok

Just switched to schaeffer 10w30 in my 6.0, installed a fumoto drain valve as well. I picked up some window stickers off Ebay which help and I set reminders in my CTS2
Nice oil change, couple things I do different is on the oil cap filter I put a little bit of oil on the O-ring before I actually put it on it helps a little bit better to slide the O-ring on. The second thing I do is I drained all the empty oil containers into one container then I take the rest of the oil and drain it into my truck that's when you get your money's worth. Once again good job.

You make oil changes look soooooooo easy :)
You do know 1 gallon of oil is 4 quarts right . 4 times 3 is 12 and you have to pull your dip stick out wipe it off and put it back in the check if you just put oil in the truck it wont ne that black
Ford red oil jug holds 1.25 gallons so three jugs is 3.75 gallons
Just wanted to get all that out there cause everybody dogs me about my 6.4 and has me worried sick...you only here the horror stories....like some blow by smoke coming from the oil fill...by everybody on line the motor is trash if you take you cap off and it has smoke coming out when engine is warm...he told me he heard the same thing when his truck was still in it's break in..he went out popped his cap and smoke coming out...he freaked...how does a new truck with 10,000 miles have blow by...he said that continued to this day 450,000 miles later and still going with no issues or oil leaks...said every 6.4 has a little blow by don't freak if your does either till you start blowing seals

Do u add motor oil plus archoil or do u subtract some motor oil in place of the archoil to equal 15 quarts?
I just throw it all in. The 16 ounces of Archoil really wont do any thing to the oil level. Also remember that the 6.4 suffers from fuel dilution so the oil over fills itself sadly. Thanks for the comment! I hope this helped.

I really should, but didn't have any in the shop... used diesel oil is a good tanning oil in the cloudy winter months haha!

Nice video, never thought of the paper bag trick. Only thing I would add is (I may be wrong) I've heard it is recommended you pour the arch oil in the center of the oil filter housing.
I've never heard of doing that... it probably wouldn't hurt anything though. It may even help clean any oil deposits out of the filter housing. Thanks for watching!
You can also refill your oil through the housing also just keep the cap off it swallows the oil twice as fast replace the filter when close finish up the oil cap
