I pull a vacuum on the fill tube and never get oil going all over the place. Just use a remote to start and stop the vacuum.
      1. Turn the vacuum on, take out the drain plug.
      2. Turn off vacuum with catch container in place. I use a 5 gallon bucket with a plastic trash bag inside ( makes clean up a snap ).
      3. Replace drain plug. Turn vacuum on.
4.Poke a hole in the bottom of the filter with a catch can in place. Turn vacuum off.
      5. Grease the chassis.
      6. Remove oil filter. Clean the mating surface.
      6. Use engraver to mark the filter with mileage, date and oil type. Lube o-ring and partially fill filter and install.
      7. Refill oil and check. Start engine, reset oil life. Stop engine and recheck oil level.

I added a Fumoto F106 6.7L oil drain to make it more controllable to drain the oil while I’m on my back. Comes with a 3/8” clear hose that connects to the valve and runs into your oil pan. Better than staining my garage floor and arm with dirty oil.

I have owned and operated all the way up to 10 speed tractor trailers otr, but always had others do maintenance. Now as about to roam free, pray to do basics as needed on my own. Crazy, Right? Lol. on my F250 what i use is a 5 gallon bucket that i buy from walmart. its $2.99 and its MADE IN THE USA. It stands up about 19 inches and i use it to collect the oil. I drive my truck a few miles to get it up to operating temp and I use my dash engine oil display to tell me when its hot enough. I think you get more contaminants and more old oil out when you do this versus cold oil like what you do. I do also make sure I let the truck sit for a good while to cool down so it doesnt make my plastic bucket super soft, but even still its hot enough or warm enough where it will flow out like water and bring the contaminants with it. I really like the height of the 5 gallon bucket. Makes for easy and clean jobs. I have a dedicated bucket for engine oil with a lid and keep it in a garbage bag, inside a cardboard box, and place it back on the shelf the next time. I take it to my county dump or a local business who has an oil heater in their shop, and they accept it for free. It never leaves the 5 gal bucket and never have to pour it in something else. I like my bucket and thats what I wanted to share lol

Great job. I appreciate the effort you make to ensure the oil filter doesn’t have oil leaking down the side. I’ve had my own 6.7 Ford returned from a dealer oil change, leaking. I hate looking in through the side and seeing the dirty oil on the white filter. Few techs would bother. Does look like the brake clean just about removed the Motorcraft logo though! I use the same exact oil drain pan. Changing oil is strangely satisfying to me.

What's the whining sound the 6.7 makes at idle when around 195-200 degrees? Mine used do it all the time until I started putting Rotella T6 5w-40 and Hotshot stiction in it, now it only does it every once in a while. My dad has the exact same truck and his will do it, I have also heard others doing it at the gas station. It comes from the passenger side of the motor. What are your thoughts on the Amsoil bypass filter setup bmk 28 on a 21 6.7 Powerstroke? What are the factory oil pressures at idle and 1500rpm. My concern is the 1/2" ID hose with the kit is too small and will reduce flow considerably. Amsoil says the system is designed for 10gpm flow. That seems crazy low. The 6.7 Cummins flows 16-20gpm a 30-45psi. Will the BMK 28 reduce oil volume and or pressure to and from the main filter?

Love the videos. I use a 5 gallon bucket for the oil pan, and an oil drain pan for the filter. Never spill a drop. Punch the old filter to drain for a few before I drop it since I’m diy and in no time crunch. Also, I wipe down the filter housing after I let it drain to get the oil off of it. Also ensures the old gasket didn’t get stuck there to cause a leak when I replace the filter. I saw a video from adept ape saying prefilling the oil filter isn’t necessary, so I don’t do it. Never had a problem. Thoughts on that?

Does ford recommend to change the plastic 1/2 turn drain plugs in the early 6.7’s and current 2.7L and some 5.0L every time? We do at my shop every time because we have seen them leaking when they come back. Makes a mess on the fiber/cloth skid plate. Only use the ford plugs from our local dealer of course. Great video I have about 1,700 miles on my 2020 F350 tremor, first oil change will be soon.

1:54 mark freeze screen and tell me this I have a 2016 F350 6.7. That one bolt above the drain plug on the right side has so much soot that appears to be a leak. Im talking about the horizontal bolt not the vertical pan. bolts The vehicle has only 22k mileage wise. Im a tad disappointed . I know trucks leak but at 22k? That cant be normal. Any thoughts or am I being picky. The truck hasnt had any strain its practically a daily driver to and fro work. All changes tho Ive only had 2 or 3 regarding oil and that was done by the dealer. Thoughts? Or am I being picky because this truck is barely broken in mileage wise. Every other area is dry or stain free.
Edit: that last part about brakleen and blowing the filter makes me think u work at my dealer because my filter is spotless after thousands of miles besides what I stated above on the housing bolt!!
