It's called Porto Wine because it's originally from Porto, Portugal's 2nd biggest city it's in the north (actually it is stored and it ages in Porto, but it comes from lands near the River "Douro")
chama-se vinho do porto porque apenas segue rio abaixo e é armazenado no porto para exportação, mas não é original de lá, como devias saber, é da zona demarcada do Douro

It's impossible to resist our egg tarts!!! And they are great in every place in Portugal, but these ones are really special! Even many Portuguese think they are the best! Whenever I go to Lisbon, I always try to get these ones! I love the faces they make with each delicious dish!
It was so fun, seeing their faces eating the egg tarts, the octopus and the lobster. Portuguese food is amazing! I'm happy both of them enjoyed it so much 😊💕
I am Portuguese born in Mozambique and I loved your video and the importance you give to Portuguese cuisine. You should also know that we were once the greatest power in the world in the age of discovery.
I'm Portuguese, from Lisbon. Older people tell me that when the tarts were made with home eggs and milk, they tasted even better but of course, nowadays due to pasteurization and safety rules they need to use pasteurized products so it tastes slightly different. I only know the ones you ate. They are still perfect though. Lisboa só tem coisas maravilhosas 😁🇵🇹💖
Do you know that fish and ships partially came from Portugal. In the Iberian peninsula we have peixe frito (fried fish) normally with rice. The British just tried to improve taking out the bones... and flavor...cof cof
You got it half right, Porto wine is from Portugal indeed, and we could relate it to its name since Portugal comes from Portucalense that was the a county that "started" the country, in that county there is Porto, today's the second biggest city, and Porto Wine comes from that today's region of Portugal and extension that goes from Porto in north of the country to spain, Porto wine is a fortified wine with is own denomination produced in that region that is a DOC region called Douro. thanks for making this kind of thing interesting to see in a way that people enjoy, Kudos!
This video was so much fun to watch. The joy of eating good food is so evident in their expressions 😃, just love it. Their pronunciations were so well done. So glad they enjoyed it.

i've never seen a video like this (foreigners trying my country's food) that i've enjoyed this much!! both women are so nice and truly adorable and i LOVED the way the described the flavours, such interesting connections and references. This is how you do a video showing any kind of cuisine :) everyone must take notes
The reason for the name of port wine (vinho do porto) is because the vineyards that make the wine are in the city of Porto and every variant of port wine is only made there. for the octopus to be so tender and soft because it is cooked in the pressure cooker, in Busan I chose octopus because it seemed not to be spicy but it was so hard that it was difficult to eat I love to travel, but I'm not very good with new tastes and I can't eat spicy, but I still found very good food in the 3 cities I visited Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island, I will never forget that at Banpodaegyo Bridge I was watching The Jets of water from Moonlight Rainbow Fountain I remember seeing a lot of people getting fried chicken and soju and I asked one group how I could do that and they were so kind and invited me to eat with them with my very very basic Korean mixed with English, I thanked them but I couldn't eating spicy when I noticed it has red sauce lol while waiting for the second round of the show they invited me to be part of the group and talked about places I could visit, after a few minutes a man arrives with more fried chicken but no sauce for me when I tried to pay they didn't accept it and when one of the girls found out I was a fan of SHINee she invited me to join her and we went to several places together, I still talk to them at Kakao 3 years after
The Porto Wine, is called "fine wine" were it is produced: DOURO VALLEY. The bulk wine was transported by boat, since REGUA, to PORTO were it was bottled and exported. In fact, the wine was bottled and exported from VILA NOVA DE GAIA, a town in the other side of the Douro's river, in front of OPORTO,. PORTO(Portuguese name of OPORTO) is a marketing designation.
Loved the video, I'm really happy that our contry it's being recognized for one of the best things! Next time you come to Portugal, you have to come to Castro Daire and try 'Bolo Podre', it's a typical Easter bread of the region. Other food I recommend you is: 'Cozido à Portuguesa', 'Bolinhos de Bacalhau', 'Arroz de pato', 'Queijo Serra da Estrela', 'Francesinha', 'Canja', 'Caldo Verde', 'Carne de Porco à Alentejana'. For drink: 'Licor de Amêndoa Amarga', 'Aguardente de Medronho' 'Licor Beirão' 'Ginja' (those 4 contains alcohol) 'Sumol' 'Compal'.
That is not a snapper but a "dourada" - english: Gilt-head bream - and the only thing portuguese will put in them is pure olive oil, no, absolutely no more sauce, and never mustard because it would spoil the delicate flavor. Also, not targetfish but "peixe-galo" - zeus faber.
I'm a great fan from South Corea. I like very much you like our food and In the next time you must see the North of my country and you find a diferent good food. We have a crazy type of sandwish call - FRANCESINHA.
Tender octupus needa to be frozen and then unfrozen. Wash it and put it it some boiling water (no salt). Dip the tentacles first and then when those are kinda pink you can submerge the head. Let it boil until you can stick a wooden toothpick in it. VERY IMPORTANT, NEVER EVER handle your octupus with metalic tools. Always wooden. The only metal allowed is the pan.
Congrats to all for the video, i love to see the name of my country talked all over the world. By the way you need to try ameijoas á moda de São Jorge (Azores island), sopas do espirito do Santo (São Jorge Island), Carne carne de porco à alentejana (with São Jorge clams).
Amazing video. Thank you girls for giving this chance to the cuisine of my country. If I may suggest something is that the next time you will have the opportunity to eat that snapper again, eat it with your hands I assure you that will taste even better and will make the experience 10x more pleasant
I am a lisboner a portuguese. I cook tomato rice and that fried fish in a regular base. That takes fried shoped anion and garlic, fried in olive oil. Then add the shped tomato, can add also a sip o f red wine, but the wi e is not a must. Once the tomato is melted, add water and once boiled add the rice, once the rice is cooked seve immediatly with it's water wich is it's sauce. The fish, salted it some hours befor. The pasa trough flour and frie. I also use to serve this in the summer with salad and in the witer with fresh turnip or kale sprouts. The tomato rice does not take any peppers at all. Though we also have a pepper rice. Wich is done the same way as the tomato rice. The only difference is, we use green pepers and when it is the time to put the tomatoe to cook, instead you put the pepper, and this time you put no tomato.
Correction Porto wine as the name of the city where it was 1st produced Porto city. All the Porto wine wineries are along the Douro river that ends in Porto.
