You include motion control games and say they're gonna be motion controls, but the trailer SPECIFICALLY said it was going to be all button controls compatible.

Mario party ds being lost in the sea of games is so sad to see. That game unironically is my favorite Mario party game. It also had a very unique gimmick of having small characters that made it work. I really want some representation of it in this game even if only 1 mini game gets in.

It's definitely one of the best ones. I always love everything that's older, but I'd definitely say I prefer it over 1, 2, 4, and 7. It's quite underrated. If only it was one you could easily play with other people online...

Bruh I'm outright salty there's no DS minigames, that was my fave mario party. I'm blanking on names, but the 2v2 where you balance on a hanger gliding down a clothesline and the one where you dig to escape a Monty mole were my faves. Also I think they could re-imagine some boss minigames beautifully for this

I just want Mario Party Superstar to aknowledge my favorite Mario Party game: Mario Party DS.
It wouldn't be hard to recreate MPDS minigames that only use buttons like Camera Shy, All Geared Up or Whomp-a-thon.
It could also be interesting to see one of the many side modes of MPDS like Rocket Rascals appearing in Mario Party Superstar.

There are some Mario party 8 games that don’t utilize motion controls though, it wouldn’t be hard to include some of those
You can still connect joy-cons on the Switch Lite so you can play motion control minigames
They could rework some miniges into button mashers or analog stick rotating minigames.
Good review of what we already know about this game and interesting predictions! I really liked the minigame ones in particular.
Honestly, even though there's still a lot of mystery surronding this game (the remaining boards, characters, minigames and game modes), I can't wait to play this game!

Wanted to bring up a few things:
- Motion-controlled minigames are almost definitely not going to be in this game, since it was stated in the trailer that the game will be fully playable with button controls. They could still bring a few back while changing the control scheme to buttons.
- While it's still possible we'll going to get these characters, Goomba, Shy Guy, Monty Mole and Hammer Bro are probably not going to appear, because they are featured in certain minigames. Again, it doesn't exclude them, but makes it less likely for them to come back.
- Bowser Jr. is definitely not coming back as playable, because he's replacing Koopa Kid in Archer-ival.
- It's very possible that one of the boards is going to be Yoshi's Tropical Island, considering the pink Yoshi sticker at 13:50. The pink Yoshi variant is pretty rare, so I don't think it's a coincidence.
- This cursed dice block is nothing like the Star Rush version (that one subtracts from your overall roll). It actually seems it's going to replace the Poison Mushroom from Mario Party 3, since it works exactly the same.
But Tropical Island is also a halfsie board, like Birthday Cake. It's pretty low on my list at my channel at least
You’re the first prediction I’ve seen that pointed out what I’ve been telling others since this was announced! It absolutely makes the most sense for the two unannounced boards to be one super hard one and one super easy one. The only ones we have that are confirmed are middle of the road difficulty. I’ve noticed a lot of people doing their predictions don’t think about the difficulty gap. If you go by classic Mario Party formula, yours makes a ton of sense! This is honestly a solid prediction. :) I am dying to see Ridiculous Relay come back!!

That’s a great way to think about it, I never thought abt it like that. Hoping for Yoshi’s tropical Fruit and Bowser’s Magma mountain. As much as I love waluigi’s island, it would make more sense for a bowser board to be in for a final board. Plus, Bowser’s Magma is super malicious and an amazing board. The chance times make it very chaotic
I don't think it will be the two boards Nathanial suggested though.
Since both of those boards come from games that already have boards.
i think it makes more sense for each board coming from a different entry, rather than two MP1 Boards, two MP2 boards and one MP5 board.

When it comes to Mario Party 8 minigames I personally wanna see Cardiators. I know it's a RNG game basically but I really like the aesthetic and it's cool to see all the different enemies attacking the other player and whatnot.

Actually, we might got a board confirmation from the japanese trailer. During a brief showcase of the stickers, one of the stickers is a Pink Yoshi. Along with it is a Monty Mole sticker. These two appeared in their own boards. Monty Mole is from Woody Woods, and the Pink Yoshi is Yoshi's Tropical Island.
I hope they bring back Aces High as a mini game, too. That was always my favorite.

I can't predict minigames, but three that I really want back are Dinger Derby, Chimp Chase, and Funstacle Course. Fish Upon a Star would also be cool, but I feel the need to temper my expectations with the minigames.
As for characters, I agree with you on Daisy and Diddy Kong, but Shy Guy and Bowser Jr. seem to have already been confirmed to have non-playable roles. Same for Goomba, Monty Mole, Hammer Bro, Koopa Troopa, Boo, and Blooper. I could see Dry Bones, Spike, Pom Pom, and Kamek possibly joining the playable roster since none of them have been shown in any non-playable role yet. If Pom Pom comes back, it would be an excellent opportunity to introduce Boom Boom as a newcomer. If we get any newcomers at all though, I think Pauline has the best chances out of anyone because her playable roles in a lot of the recent Mario spinoff games. Nabbit and Wiggler would also be really cool newcomers imo. I could see Nabbit happening, but idk if it's Wiggler's time yet.
Regarding boards, I expect that one of our two unrevealed boards will be a Bowser board (most likely Bowser Land), and the other one will be either Western Land or Yoshi's Tropical Island. Those are the three I feel are most likely.
I'm only predicting 12 characters. In addition to those already confirmed, I'd like to see Daisy and Diddy Kong come back, and Pauline would make a fine addition and 2v2 partner for Rosalina. As for the boards, I think the last two will be one of the Duel boards from MP3, and as the last board, Bowser Land from MP2.
How the frik did tug of war get in!? The only way to win against the master AI is with the plam of your hand pretty much, but it hurts quiet of bit. They should of added that one claw machine 1v3 minigame from mario party 8, I forgot what it's called but its one of the most underrated 1v3 minigames ever
In this game a lot of the super mario party characters are used in the board so thinking there will be that many characters is unrealistic, i think it will be a more classic character roster with maybe a few surprises
I'm personally hoping they go the same route as Mario Kart in future Mario Party games and have half new boards and half retro boards. And maybe we could even have characters and boards based on other games, like The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Splatoon (just like in Mario Kart 8).
4:26 Actually duel minigames loaded instantly too yet it was different duel minigame each time as they dueled twice during treehouse gameplay. I think it will be the same on item minigames. It will randomly choose minigame but without the minigame roulette so other players dont have to wait as much. I think this was simply to reduce waiting time considering those are one player or 2 player minigames where others dont play and have to wait.

Tug O' War sucks, when is Nintendo going to remember that this minigame caused injuries to poor kids' hands?

I guess he shouldn’t bet anything on his power to predict Mario party games.
For Mario Party 6, "What goes up" is the daytime version of the minigame and "must come down" is the night time version. It's a pretty safe bet that it will be in the new mp game if they keep each board/game specific mechanic for their respective boards/games.
The characters part. Yeah I say that the safe bet is most likely going to be Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Donkey Kong, Princess Daisy, Waluigi, Birdo, Princess Rosalina, Diddy Kong, and Mayor Pauline.
Pretty solid prediction though.
I’ve been so excited for this game it’s not even funny, I’m hoping we get Bowser’s Magma Mountain (because of chance time), and Spiny Desert, if not desert then horror land. Such good maps!!

In the top 100, each minigame had the victory music from that Mario Party game. I hope that’s something they bring back as well
