I'm having doubts, just saw the 1st movie, but the sound fx department is a bit lacking. And I feel like the movie isn't really showing shirou's dilemma on the HEaven's feel route.

But is it too much to ask that he looks cool once in a while. It really starts getting boring. And I get the message and all but I didn't find it entertaining at all. Sorry about that I haven't watched it for quite a long time now that I started thinking it was realistic instead of tragic. And I still don't like the 90s version because of everything went to shit at the end. That's disappointing as hell. And just to be clear I don't like shows that also make teenagers look unnecessarily cool. I am not against it either if the character itself is great but Evangelion really ruined the mood. The ending wasn't even an ending. It looked like it had one more episode to go but it was never animated. The rebuilt shows some hope. My opinion remains the same the 90s version was bad. Its ending pretty much ruined the show for me.

In pt2 or 1, I hated how quickly they went over Shirou's deciding and decision to Save Sakura, it had minimal impact compared to the VN especially when you considered how stubborn Shirou is and how he is giving up on his dream to protect Sakura. I did like the Herc flashbacks that I saw, but if I had to chose between those and shirous monologue, I would have chose the monologue. Hopefully Illyas final part at least gets some monologue time.

Basically yeah. After the novolty wear off the anime adaptations are pretty bad. They dont convery the story and characters well. Some people say they are "fan service" but they couldnt even adapt fan favorite scenes well. All in all ufotable cant adapt VN's they can do LN and manga but not VN's should have given this to someone else
I'm happy that Nine Bullet Revolver was done justice in the movie. And before any of you vn reader yelling at me because they didn't adapted it properly. It called show don't tell. Plus, it's an adaptation, not a 1:1 retelling of the story.

Ok, as an anime-only watched HF III before coming here. The only problem I see with UFO's version is the massive lack of explanation. 3 secs fight, Shirou brain exploded etc. But besides that, it was well done and the hype was there.
The best way to describe this scene in the VN is it's a western shootout with swords. Whoever strikes first wins. They honestly didn't capture that vibe at all. The CG where shirou and berserker face each other down. The slow countdown to punctuate the fight. The fact that shirou only just makes it in time. All of this is gone in the movie. Shirou just fucking destroys Hercules with zero fanfare. They don't even play fucking emiya throughout the entire thing. Instant boner killer.
if you think about it, shirou prob would have defeated saber here. if sparks liner high happened here (ignoring his fatigue/assuming he could somehow pull off the full combo), shirou would have one extra projection because he hasn't projected the jeweled sword yet. the extra projection could most likely be the finishing blow for saber (but they still would lose overall cuz no jeweled sword to fight sakura)
@@algo5125 it still wasn't sure whether saber wasn't using excalibur in her fight with shirou due to the ceiling possibly collapsing or left-over feelings for shirou (she WAS kinda giving him a chance in that fight). i'd say it was more of the latter part because she had no qualms using excalibur vs rider. also, saber mostly uses excalibur to counter noble phantasms, anyway. there's a high chance saber doesn't use excalibur here.

Its been so many years but the wait was worth it, Ufotable delivered and then delivered more. Seeing the 9 lines in the ground caused by Shirou is an amazing way to show the instantneous 9 slashes. Yuki Kaijura also delivered with her version of Emiya.

If you haven't found the answer to this yet, it's basically because 1. Yes Beserker really was most likely weakened that much, alongside Shirou having a huge power boost with archer's arm. 2. EMIYA never wanted to beat Beserker. Whether or not he can is never really stated. He just wanted to stall Beserker. Though assuming he has 12 A ranked NPs he probably can.
Konata Lord of Weebs he can reproduce S rank Noble p's but because he's projecting them they often suffer a rank down. This is due to Rin messing around so much with his summoning....he may be worst off than saber in terms of how his stats were affected
Heroic Spirit sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm well aware of the broken phantasms. But remember A rank doesn't just apply to weapons. Archers skills are Breyer than sabers. In the truest meaning of the term triple linked crane wings is A ranked.Same would apply to nine lives. Archer only lost because he was fighting without memories.
I never said archer lost because he lacks skill, he is certainly a skilled servant, he just has very average physical stats, meaning that he can't compete with those stats alone, so his only option is to use his noble phantasms to do anything, he doesn't have a high enough strength stat to take a life off with that, and triple linked crane wings is no higher rank than the base weapon, so C- rank. It's an attack that uses his skills as a swordsman and as a magus, not power. Also I don't imagine his lack of memories hindered his fighting ability, he still remembers his times as a counter guardian.I would think UBW has atleast 12 A ranked noble phantasms, so he should by that logic be able to kill berserker.
The Axe Sword broke in the fight? I mean, Shirou didn't even try to use it after this so either the weapon broke or Shirou wasted one of his very few projections and made it disappear. Yes i know that Rider was going to be the one fighting Salter later but in a bad ending Shirou was the one fighting Salter and he didn't use the Axe Sword so that means that he didn't have it at the moment.
Shirou uses archer swords vs saber because he can extract his combat experience, being able to match saber in one on one. Nine lives blade works is incomplete technique, and it would be useless against saber.

It's a multidirectional attack from 8 different angles so fast that they are almost at the same time and each attack is as big as the weapon itself, even if it didn't kill her it would AT LEAST hurt her badly, her instinct and speed aren't as good in her alter form, she wouldn't be able to parry all of the attacks. Shirou defeated her with Kanshou and Bakuya because he took her by surprise due to they can be used as boomerangs (This shows that her instict and speed are lower now), Nine Lives Blade Works is almost a surprise attack but in your face and from 8 different angles almost at the same time, it could at least hurt her (Just one arm would be enough to make her weaker due to Excalibur is a two handed weapon so she wouldn't be as dangerous as before) and then Shirou would be able to finish her off allowing him to live long enough to save Sakura.

Since they're the same person the direct connection between their circuits causes archers spirit to begin invading Shirou's own. This gifts him power and strength similar to that of archer. The downside being that his own soul is overwritten every time he activates archers circuits. It should also be noted Shirou copies not the just the weapon, but the physical abilities of those who wielded that weapon previously. The text even states the "left arm will definitely reproduce the strength of my enemy". In the other routes this automatically damaged his body because he was attempting to copy a degraded version of superhuman abilities.

I did like the Herc flashbacks that I saw, but if I had to chose between those and shirous monologue, I would have chose the monologue. Hopefully Illyas final part at least gets some monologue time.

Basically yeah. After the novolty wear off the anime adaptations are pretty bad. They dont convery the story and characters well. Some people say they are "fan service" but they couldnt even adapt fan favorite scenes well.
All in all ufotable cant adapt VN's they can do LN and manga but not VN's should have given this to someone else

I'm happy that Nine Bullet Revolver was done justice in the movie. And before any of you vn reader yelling at me because they didn't adapted it properly. It called show don't tell. Plus, it's an adaptation, not a 1:1 retelling of the story.

Ok, as an anime-only watched HF III before coming here. The only problem I see with UFO's version is the massive lack of explanation. 3 secs fight, Shirou brain exploded etc. But besides that, it was well done and the hype was there.
The final strike was overwound up, I feel. It lost the feeling of hypersonic attacks.

The best way to describe this scene in the VN is it's a western shootout with swords. Whoever strikes first wins.
They honestly didn't capture that vibe at all. The CG where shirou and berserker face each other down. The slow countdown to punctuate the fight. The fact that shirou only just makes it in time. All of this is gone in the movie. Shirou just fucking destroys Hercules with zero fanfare.
They don't even play fucking emiya throughout the entire thing. Instant boner killer.
if you think about it, shirou prob would have defeated saber here. if sparks liner high happened here (ignoring his fatigue/assuming he could somehow pull off the full combo), shirou would have one extra projection because he hasn't projected the jeweled sword yet. the extra projection could most likely be the finishing blow for saber (but they still would lose overall cuz no jeweled sword to fight sakura)
Saber would use excalibur here, She is in a open area, he would be insta killed.
@@algo5125 it still wasn't sure whether saber wasn't using excalibur in her fight with shirou due to the ceiling possibly collapsing or left-over feelings for shirou (she WAS kinda giving him a chance in that fight). i'd say it was more of the latter part because she had no qualms using excalibur vs rider. also, saber mostly uses excalibur to counter noble phantasms, anyway. there's a high chance saber doesn't use excalibur here.

Its been so many years but the wait was worth it, Ufotable delivered and then delivered more. Seeing the 9 lines in the ground caused by Shirou is an amazing way to show the instantneous 9 slashes. Yuki Kaijura also delivered with her version of Emiya.

my question is how shirou was able to insta kill dark berserker when archer died to regular berserker. Was dark berserker that weakened by saber alter?
If you haven't found the answer to this yet, it's basically because 1. Yes Beserker really was most likely weakened that much, alongside Shirou having a huge power boost with archer's arm. 2. EMIYA never wanted to beat Beserker. Whether or not he can is never really stated. He just wanted to stall Beserker. Though assuming he has 12 A ranked NPs he probably can.
Konata Lord of Weebs he can reproduce S rank Noble p's but because he's projecting them they often suffer a rank down. This is due to Rin messing around so much with his summoning....he may be worst off than saber in terms of how his stats were affected
He uses weapons as broken phantasms anyways. So if it's one rank down it doesn't matter because they go back to the original rank when he does this.
Heroic Spirit sorry for taking so long to reply. I'm well aware of the broken phantasms. But remember A rank doesn't just apply to weapons. Archers skills are Breyer than sabers. In the truest meaning of the term triple linked crane wings is A ranked.Same would apply to nine lives. Archer only lost because he was fighting without memories.
I never said archer lost because he lacks skill, he is certainly a skilled servant, he just has very average physical stats, meaning that he can't compete with those stats alone, so his only option is to use his noble phantasms to do anything, he doesn't have a high enough strength stat to take a life off with that, and triple linked crane wings is no higher rank than the base weapon, so C- rank. It's an attack that uses his skills as a swordsman and as a magus, not power. Also I don't imagine his lack of memories hindered his fighting ability, he still remembers his times as a counter guardian.I would think UBW has atleast 12 A ranked noble phantasms, so he should by that logic be able to kill berserker.

The Axe Sword broke in the fight? I mean, Shirou didn't even try to use it after this so either the weapon broke or Shirou wasted one of his very few projections and made it disappear.
Yes i know that Rider was going to be the one fighting Salter later but in a bad ending Shirou was the one fighting Salter and he didn't use the Axe Sword so that means that he didn't have it at the moment.
He was kinda mentally screwed up here so he probably wasn't exactly thinking straight.
Shirou uses archer swords vs saber because he can extract his combat experience, being able to match saber in one on one. Nine lives blade works is incomplete technique, and it would be useless against saber.

It's a multidirectional attack from 8 different angles so fast that they are almost at the same time and each attack is as big as the weapon itself, even if it didn't kill her it would AT LEAST hurt her badly, her instinct and speed aren't as good in her alter form, she wouldn't be able to parry all of the attacks.
Shirou defeated her with Kanshou and Bakuya because he took her by surprise due to they can be used as boomerangs (This shows that her instict and speed are lower now), Nine Lives Blade Works is almost a surprise attack but in your face and from 8 different angles almost at the same time, it could at least hurt her (Just one arm would be enough to make her weaker due to Excalibur is a two handed weapon so she wouldn't be as dangerous as before) and then Shirou would be able to finish her off allowing him to live long enough to save Sakura.

Shirou's left arm in HF was destroyed and replaced with archers. Since they're the same person the direct connection between their circuits causes archers spirit to begin invading Shirou's own. This gifts him power and strength similar to that of archer. The downside being that his own soul is overwritten every time he activates archers circuits.
It should also be noted Shirou copies not the just the weapon, but the physical abilities of those who wielded that weapon previously. The text even states the "left arm will definitely reproduce the strength of my enemy". In the other routes this automatically damaged his body because he was attempting to copy a degraded version of superhuman abilities.
