I spent so much time on this game. I was a Vita fan back in middle school so this was a must-buy for me at the time. I aced almost every level in the game (couldn't get the last two stages, and Sean Brawn's "heist" stage I think it was), fully completed all the arcade games, and got the gold trophy "Get A Life" for spending 24 hours in the creative mode. I recall making top-down adventure and shooter levels, complete with menus with UI you control via touchscreen; however, I never published them as I didn't have access to WiFi as a kid. I luckily did go back to experience the multiplayer a year or two before it shut down - I was surprised to see people still playing.
What I appreciate about LBP Vita in retrospect was how fresh it feels. It doesn't have backwards compatibility with previous community levels, nor is it built on the foundation of an engine that's increasingly getting more aged; it's a standalone game, and while the minimal variety of stickers and materials, as well as the lack of premium DLC level packs(besides that DC Comics pack) hurts it, I was happy to play an LBP that's very polished on a fundamental level. The story mode is my favorite, the touch controls are tastefully implemented, It has everything LBP2 have and then some, and the few community levels I did play were some of the most unique experiences I've had with the series!
It is based on LBP2, I had a custom server running and did some tests, where I made LBP1 levels and LBP2 Beta levels available to start. Very early LBP2 levels from the original release, and a lot of LBP1 levels as long as the Vita has the assets, would start up and fully work. There are cut things that basically fully works, I got the paintinator and it's tool by doing this too, only thing that didn't work properly was the animation, I think I remember the paintinator was invisible, but it shows up when you pick it up and is just tinier than it is suppose to be, but the hand animation is there, and it fully works like it does in LBP1 and 2.
So there are multiple assets and code left from LBP1/2 that goes unused in Vita but fully works if you do the thing I said with custom server, as long as the Vita has the assets/code in the files, it will work

This game was my childhood i pkayed it trougth 2014 - 2017 i was devastated when the servers closed i didnt even get a chance to download all my old levels... That was after hoping they would be online again after months of waiting, lbp left a big mark on my heart both positive and negatibe because of all the good memories, and bad because of all the shit that happened that led to its shut down, i never got closure to the series and i will never know how to deal with it
Lbp ps vita is my favorite vita game and one of my favorite memories of that period in time. I remember having a level with a couple thousand hearts I couldn't believe it. I remember making quite a couple nice levels and unfortunately because the servers are down nobody can play them anymore
14:20 I honestly got scared when LBP3 was mentioned because I still play that game, but relieved to see it only gone on PS3. This may be a nightmare for some other people, but LBP3 on the PS4 will still stand up strong. At least, for now. I wonder if someday the servers for LBP3 will shut down too.
Tell ya what, if there's one thing I especially remember from the game, it's the fact the final boss is so hard to deathless that I haven't deathless'd it yet. (I should go back and try to deathless it again sometime, all these years later) That aside, this game was amazing, though there was a lot missing from LBP2 that I would've loved to have seen make a return... even if as Editor items. (granted, the fans mostly ported a ton of the missing things in custom levels)
My dad was always a Microsoft guy so we always had Xbox consoles but the vita was one exception since my brother bothered him about it a lot. He ended up not using it that much, but i played the crap out of this. The 3 games I've played by far the most were rayman origins, Rayman legends and LBP vita. I also had Lego Batman 2 but that game was drastically downscaled compared unlike lbp. I remember joining random people or waiting around in levels I've yet to get a collectables in so i can get the multiplayer ones. I also remember how long it took me to do the final boss without getting hit. Worlds from worst to best in my opinion 5 - land of odd 4 - spooky mansion 3 - coster alley 2 - la marionneta 1 - jackpot city Also did you know this game had not only full polish localization but also voice acting? You don't get that a lot.
I’d say this is probably my favorite LBP game if it weren’t for the servers being shut down. I downloaded a handful of levels for the game in case the servers did go down one day, but knowing there won’t ever be any more to share and receive from the world is pretty sad. I’m looking forward to that custom server though. LBP3 may be the best overall community package to experience all of the online LBP levels, but LBP Vita, as a game, is probably my favorite in the series.
I was in 1 grade when the vita realesed and I wanted one with LBPVita for my birthday I got it and loved it it was the only game I had for the system it sadly didn’t survive that long because my sister destroyed some time in 2 grade but I was able to beat the story mode and I really loved it I really found the puppeteer and his puppet scary and remember the story very well I played every game in the series (besiedes psp) and I would say that this is rivaling lbp2 for the best game of the Series
It’s not that I’m sad because I never platinumed lbp or lbp2 or bought any of the dlc that was removed for lbp (even the SpongeBob shit found out it was being removed a day after it was sadly) because that is sad and I do regret it all but well I never bought a vita and I was gunna but then the servers went away and I cried and I want them back because all that creativity all that passion all that time and effort is gone every level in lbp or lbp2 I can play on ps4 but karting and vita are gone now and it’s sad we’ll never that that creativity that talent that passion back and it’s so sad!
LBP Vita is my favorite Vita game and favorite LBP game. So underrated, and the community of it is the best aspect (when it was online, but private servers are bringing its online back March 6).
LBP Vita was my single most hyped title for the Vita as a kid. It's like half the reason I bought the console. WOW did it meet my expectations. Having LBP 2's create mode in a handheld was a *dream* for me as a kid, and LBP Vita *delivered.* I possibly have more hours logged in it than any other Playstation title.
The PS Vita LBP entry is easily my favourite due to all the touch based aspects unique to this title. Pretty much the same reasons I love Tearaway, but even more so, as it used the microphone, etc. What i don’t like was how quickly LB2 abandoned the fun story and jumped to creepy corrupted carnival-esq. story/art style which had far less style than the original. I’d agree that the Vita entry was a 2.5v that mirrored LBP2. great vid!
Honestly LBPVita might be the best version of LBP there is for create mode (LBP3 definitely has more stuff, but is arguably too advanced imo). Some of the stuff like the memorizer and the speed sensor got brought across to LBP2, but the big additions for me were being able to set objects as static or dynamic, and also the notes! The fact you could customise them and use them for UI was game changing. I was very happy to see those features in LBP3
I swear if Playstation did another hand held with an L2 and R2, normal sdcard expansion it would blow up. They could even make it backwards compatible with psvita games and do another cycle of psvita games bringing some of these games back to life and that way we'd have a huge amount already on the handheld console. But they would really need to focus on supporting triple A titles and make sure they are good before they are dropped 😅
I bought my ps vita for uncharted golden abyss which is still stuck on the vita but I later bought lbp vita and it became my top 3 portable games for the vita
Bro I was a younger brother so I always got the portables, LBP vita was something I played for years! So glad to see a look back video on that time, feel like a lot of people didn't get to experience this gem of a portable console. Great video, and hello from another content creator!
You have to talk about the DLC:s next. MGS Pack, The Monster Pack, Move Pack, The Journey Home Pack, (which I LIKED) and the other ones were quite fun to play.
I think they should've sold a pack similar to the sci-fi pack where they take everything you can obtain in the story and put it all into a pack. but instead of the cross-controller dlc they do it for Vita. all the backgrounds, materials, stickers, decorations, costumes, music, sounds, everything else. that would be really cool in my opinion
This LBP entry seems like a 'we added touch or make it LBP2 on the go or be an LBP2 expansion' at first but is much more than that and really fun. The minigames, the levels, the touch uses are pretty good, they can feel DS stylus level 'I really have to stop controlling this to touch the screen or blow into the mic' like thoughts but the front and back touch uses weren't that bad I find. The multiple areas of depth LBP is known for is used, you could have a grapple hook or an object or button but your finger is used, it's still in view not out of view and a camera cutting to it or something and I think it works well. The Vita is great, I got to it late (in LBP releases it was the last entry I bought LBP1/PSP I think /2/Karting/3/Vita in that order) but glad I picked one up when I did. I think it work on a Dualshock 4 the touchpad is a carry over from the Vita and on PS4 Tearaway was ported and it used a lot of the Vita's features. Who wants to setup a camera for Tearaway on PS4? Killzone Mercenary is PSTV compatible and we all know that the PSTV has games with the basic uses of the Vita not the cameras, gyro, the touchpads use in games. In Killzone Mercenary the front touch screen uses were changed to be used with the analogue sticks for the take down when used with a PSTV not needing to be hacked I'm pretty sure while Golden Abyss with a hacked PSTV it's possible apparently. For relevance though 3 is on both PS3/4 already so besides that and Uncharted on PS3/4 I assume Golden Abyss didn't matter to prot it over either. Gravity Rush made sense as the gyro and touchpad stuff could no idea about I'd the camera is used at all. I liked the PS4 remaster and Bluepoint does a good job with these so it works well. It's a good niche system though and it's fine to stay that way. The Vita may be a failure in sales, in westerners eyes but to anime artstyle/anime game fans it's a great console past the Persona 4 is the only thing people talk about with it, when there is so much more I care about on the system and it is not Persona 4 in my library I don't care for it at all JRPG fans. I will never buy it. I'd rather buy any other JRPG instead. The PS2 ports of games people didn't care about I don't know but still those exist, they have their issues and portability greatness for that niche Vita audience. The company disappearances were sad for sure but what was there for the west was pretty good even if not 'we want consistent games like the PSP with at least 1-2 games for a series and filling in gaps' being delivered to them. I just have an odd perspective too if more did release on it the way they ditched both for mobile and learned to mess around with that unknown space of 'everybody has a phone' and the mobile Devs beating the AAA console Devs/publishers. It clearly doesn't matter if they did make releases and ports anyway we see it with Switch how much they do or don't care Nintendo or not. I'm surprised WRC got 3-5, sports from 2013-2015 at most for 3 years or entries. Those that went to mobile than 3DS and ignored the 3DS when most bought Japanese games on the 3DS but Nintendo titles keep the handhelds alive of course and Nintendo always has their handhelds supported well and their consoles don't do as well regardless of the good games on there and third parties you may play to fill a genre gap (at least I do for the types the first parties don't offer on their systems. I care about racing games but not Mario Kart/kart racers so an arcade/Sim racer third party will do). But at the same time I find most PS4/Xbox One third parties to be boring and I'm not missing anything not playing them, a Vita port/exclusive entry or not. I know they matter and many people care about them but eh couldn't care less for PS3/360 IPs continued over and over and I keep ignoring them continuously.
I was playing lbp vita online a little before the service shut down and there was almost no one playing online. I remember this one person joining me 3 times because no one else was playing at the time. I’m glad to have played some of the online levels before the shutdown.
My ps vita broke while i was making a lbp level some years ago and im getting a ps vita really soon when i heard that project lighthouse is going public beta in less than a week so people with a modded vita can open up their eboot file for their littlebigplanet game and change the little bit of code that makes the game go to sony's offline servers to go to their servers instead, i hope to see u on it soon!! :D
Hahahahaha dude I just found your channel today after watching your LBP PSP video and you said "the next video in the series is gonna be LBP for PS Vita" so I'm like cool lemme check out his channel and purely by chance you uploaded the PS Vita video an hour ago 😂😂
This was the reason I bought a Vita lol it was so cool how they managed to get lbp on here and it worked so well. It was funny a majority of people I knew were like "I already got lbp psp, I don't need this one :)" they missed out on probably the best lbp game if you ask me. well at least better than lbp3-
Letting go of this game and my psvita is a big regret of mine. I spent hours creating and playing. Everything in this game is a treat. 10/10 easy for me. The memory's were worth every dollar.
I would absolutely die if one day we get a remaster/collection of LBP 1, PSP, 2, VITA and LBP3. There'll obviously need to be level design changes with VITA and PSP. But please, anyone? I'm absolutely devastated that I'll never get to play my favourite community levels again and their only existence is the memories I created :(
Also, I can tell you now. The online experience was as amazing as Little Big Planet 2, albeit a lot laggier I found. Another drawback for Create mode in VITA is you can't create levels together in the same create mode server.. there was actually a glitch that allowed this. But it was prone to crashing and you had to share the same screen with everyone else. Otherwise, people usually just shared objects and set peices with each other and that's usually how levels were peiced together by people.
LittleBig Planet was one of the first game I ever played. LittleBig Planet PSVita was one of my favorite games ever. I basically only had that game, and I still own the PSVita with the copy of LBPVita. The PSVita will always stay in my heart like the PS3 and 2DS. I also had Minecraft, but I think LBPVita beat that.
I made this cool woodcutting tycoon game on the Vita that I published years back. Was hoping someday I could re-install it and work more on it someday again but I guess I waited too long, real shame
I don't think it'd be too difficult to port the Vita version over to a ps4 or 5 to make it worth doing. Those controllers have all the elements needed to get all the functionality out of the game. Touchpad for gestures. All you'd need is a hot key like holding down a trigger or shoulder button to switch from the Vita's front touch panel to the back and you've also got the sixaxis accelerometer function too. It's definitely in the top three exclusives the Vita ever released.
I had the marvel lbp game. I used to love the ps vita. The games I remember the vita for is minecraft, tearaway, shovel knight, lbp and binding of issac. The main reason for me getting the vita was little big planet as well.
I love the psvita I loved it whan I was small and I still do. lbp psvita was my most played game on the psvita. I miss the psvita and I'm glad it's getting the love it deserves
Is there a community keeping the community levels alive in some manner? For the various games? Like a custom server database or something? Ahh yes. Tyty. Can't wait for your info
I know there are private servers, but I don't think there's an archive. For LBP 1, 2, and 2: Move Pack, you can just use LBP 3 on a PS4/5. The only issues are all the other DLCs for LBP 2 that need extra hardware (such as the PS3 Vita Cross-Control Pack) as well as PSP, Vita, and Karting.
I have a personal bias towards LBP Vita, maybe because I put more hours into it than any other of the games past or present, but I love this game, I hold it in very high regard because I thought it was the almost perfect LBP game. Like, yeah, I think the lack of content variety was a shame, but it sorta forced me to work with what I had, which felt like the sort of draw I would make with standalone LBP. I was a bit more on the creative side, since I didn't have access to the community until about 2018? When I finally got to the community, however, there were some great levels, some that I have downloaded and were of high quality. There was also the once in a miracle chance that there was one person on the servers that was playing the game, which is how I managed to 100% the story mode. Depending on the person's connection, it can range from decent to soul-crushingly delayed (though granted with lag and such from my experience). That being said, I wish the game got more attention than it did because I believe it’s a wonderful game, and given that's also a handheld game, you can take it on the go, and it just feels right for a LittleBigPlanet game to be.
Vita was its own game not meant to be a lbp 2 remake it even tried being more like lbp 1 if you saw the e3 trailers where tapping any of the planets would begin a shockwave animation around the planet very much like the first game but they made it into its own separate story u know all that but thats why none of the assets are there. If u get that hat gun powerup that shoots objects i cant remember the name im getting a vita soon to play because i havent in years but if you tweak it in the right way it works exactly as the paintinator but you cant change the color it only works in white for some reason i remember people giving it away as items also if you go in create mode and set the maximum recommended players to 1 then if a friend joins you you can do coop create mode together! :D if u watch a video of it the friend has the option to request please undo or please pause which is so cool that they were planning coop create mode but its really buggy with the touchscreen so u cant use that and hover mode will usually kick your friend but everything else works u can even do the lethal glitch from lbp1 & lbp2 on ur friend to make them immune to hazards thats why i love this game because its a handheld lbp2 :D
Nvm you couldnt tweak the hat gun powerup thing to use the paintballs they were actual real paintball files like from lbp2 left in the game so a person used glitches to make the powerup fire paintballs
Ps vita one of the greatest handhelds of all time original psp being the first something I grew up with. Ps vita wasn’t a failure in my opinion. Can’t wait for the psp 2 to come put sometime in 2025 2026 I believe the article I read said.
There was something so comforting just chilling at the main home inside your little spaceship thing before choosing a level in lbp2 sitting in the living room drinking a soda saying it's too cold in this room but still kept playing. Good times
I'm glad others recognize how good the story mode in this game is

This game was my childhood i pkayed it trougth 2014 - 2017 i was devastated when the servers closed i didnt even get a chance to download all my old levels... That was after hoping they would be online again after months of waiting, lbp left a big mark on my heart both positive and negatibe because of all the good memories, and bad because of all the shit that happened that led to its shut down, i never got closure to the series and i will never know how to deal with it
I remember pouring HOURS into tapling, thank you for this nostalgia rush.
I finally started playing this game after wanting it for years and I gotta say that it was absolutely worth it
Lbp ps vita is my favorite vita game and one of my favorite memories of that period in time. I remember having a level with a couple thousand hearts I couldn't believe it. I remember making quite a couple nice levels and unfortunately because the servers are down nobody can play them anymore
LBPV was the first LBP game I ever played and is still my favorite
A few weeks ago, I bought a PSvita and LBPVita, completing my LBP collection. It's an amazing game!

I honestly got scared when LBP3 was mentioned because I still play that game, but relieved to see it only gone on PS3. This may be a nightmare for some other people, but LBP3 on the PS4 will still stand up strong. At least, for now. I wonder if someday the servers for LBP3 will shut down too.
IT HAPPENED :(
@@ChickenNugget-v8v Well that comment aged horribly...
This is a very special game on a very special system.
Really enjoy how much of this gameplay is spent dressed as Toro
Tell ya what, if there's one thing I especially remember from the game, it's the fact the final boss is so hard to deathless that I haven't deathless'd it yet.
(I should go back and try to deathless it again sometime, all these years later)
That aside, this game was amazing, though there was a lot missing from LBP2 that I would've loved to have seen make a return... even if as Editor items.
Worlds from worst to best in my opinion
5 - land of odd
4 - spooky mansion
3 - coster alley
2 - la marionneta
1 - jackpot city
Also did you know this game had not only full polish localization but also voice acting?
You don't get that a lot.
I’d say this is probably my favorite LBP game if it weren’t for the servers being shut down. I downloaded a handful of levels for the game in case the servers did go down one day, but knowing there won’t ever be any more to share and receive from the world is pretty sad. I’m looking forward to that custom server though.
LBP3 may be the best overall community package to experience all of the online LBP levels, but LBP Vita, as a game, is probably my favorite in the series.
This truly is awesome exclusive for the Vita!
OH MY GOD YOU FINALLY DID IT
I was in 1 grade when the vita realesed and I wanted one with LBPVita for my birthday I got it and loved it it was the only game I had for the system it sadly didn’t survive that long because my sister destroyed some time in 2 grade but I was able to beat the story mode and I really loved it
I really found the puppeteer and his puppet scary and remember the story very well I played every game in the series (besiedes psp) and I would say that this is rivaling lbp2 for the best game of the Series
Little Big Planet is literally the only game I own on the Vita.
I never had a ps vita, but my friend did so when we were little I would go over and play this and minecraft on it.
LBPV Is the second lbp game ive played, first one being lbp3. third one being lbp psp 4th being lbp2
Lets gooooo! Loved the video, happy to see it after all this time! 😃
But they would really need to focus on supporting triple A titles and make sure they are good before they are dropped 😅
i would love a legacy like game where you can play all the old games in the series
I bought my ps vita for uncharted golden abyss which is still stuck on the vita but I later bought lbp vita and it became my top 3 portable games for the vita
And it is a great game of course. Also get tearaway, unit 13, killzone mercenary.
After all this time i finaly get to see my most favourite game on your channel
i still play lbpvita on lighthouse and thank you so much for making a video of my favorite game of all time
First of all, how did this man get a premiere trailer?
Second, a video that talks about LBPV?! Thank you.
Hahahahaha dude I just found your channel today after watching your LBP PSP video and you said "the next video in the series is gonna be LBP for PS Vita" so I'm like cool lemme check out his channel and purely by chance you uploaded the PS Vita video an hour ago 😂😂
This was the reason I bought a Vita lol
it was so cool how they managed to get lbp on here and it worked so well.
It was funny a majority of people I knew were like "I already got lbp psp, I don't need this one :)"
they missed out on probably the best lbp game if you ask me.
well at least better than lbp3-
Letting go of this game and my psvita is a big regret of mine. I spent hours creating and playing. Everything in this game is a treat. 10/10 easy for me. The memory's were worth every dollar.
Remembering when i was playing Online with people a year ago having fun, we’d never know that wouod be the last time we’d play online on it
I've been waiting on this video for a while.
Otherwise, people usually just shared objects and set peices with each other and that's usually how levels were peiced together by people.
this is my favorite game of this series, it's been so long since I played it, but I still have it, and happy that I got to platinum this game :)
I will say that games like this, killzone and uncharted on the vita are basically ps3 games on a handheld which was soo cool back in the day
Amazing video this was fantastic!
LittleBig Planet was one of the first game I ever played. LittleBig Planet PSVita was one of my favorite games ever. I basically only had that game, and I still own the PSVita with the copy of LBPVita. The PSVita will always stay in my heart like the PS3 and 2DS. I also had Minecraft, but I think LBPVita beat that.
and.. 2ds?
Yeah, the one that couldn't do 3d..
So glad we got this video, loved it btw
This is the most hype moment of my life.
LBP Vita was basically LBP2 but with even more Vita-specific features. Wish I had it when I was 12 and still had a creative bone in my body 😂
this video was worth the wait:)
Plot twist: No lbp karting video and its been 57 years since this very video
My all time favourite LBP game. Too underrated
I think this is a great LBP game! (Assuming you have a vita grip to prevent accidental rear touchpad touches)
I made this cool woodcutting tycoon game on the Vita that I published years back. Was hoping someday I could re-install it and work more on it someday again but I guess I waited too long, real shame
this is the best lpb game and i barely played online in any of the games so ig that makes sense why this my favourite
I remember buying the week 1 t shirt even though I never played it. Like many others, I didn't own a vita. It was a pretty awesome shirt though.
It's definitely in the top three exclusives the Vita ever released.
glad to see a fellow ps vita story mode enjoier
I actually still have my vita WITH lbp vita downloaded digitally to this day, it's literally just in my desk drawer
i have the marvel super hero edition of lbp vita and still have the case but ive lost my vita with the game still in it :(
Same man except it was the standard edition and I still have my cartridge and that was the only game reason I got my PS Vita :(
I had the marvel lbp game. I used to love the ps vita. The games I remember the vita for is minecraft, tearaway, shovel knight, lbp and binding of issac. The main reason for me getting the vita was little big planet as well.
I kinda wish they had ported the LBP Vita exclusive content to LBP2 or LBP3 as DLC, including the Skillful Sandy costume.
LBP Psvita is true perfection, and it's even better than 3 if you ask me due to the unique usage of rear and front touch controls.
I spent an insane amount of time playing this, it was amazing.
I love the psvita I loved it whan I was small and I still do. lbp psvita was my most played game on the psvita. I miss the psvita and I'm glad it's getting the love it deserves
I've always been one of the ones that loved LBPV until it's untimely demise
Look at Little Nightmares Gnomes, next to LBP vita's hollows...
i literally looked up this vid today after watching your lbp psp video & it didnt exist & i was mad
Would also love a Karting retrospective if you feel like it!:)
LBP vita is my first and only LBP game, it's so good
this game used the rear touch pad so well
10 years… Christ I’m old
This was actually my favorite lbp game.
I loved this game for the very short time I played It. I hate myself for being so irresponsible and losing my PS Vita soon after I first got it.
That being said, I wish the game got more attention than it did because I believe it’s a wonderful game, and given that's also a handheld game, you can take it on the go, and it just feels right for a LittleBigPlanet game to be.
the PS Vita was my entire childhood
Thank God i owned lbp vita i gotten an bit late along side some vita titles so proud having the vita in my collection. So yeah.
Maybe if LBP Vita was called like LBP 2.5 it would have more portableness, touchscreen stuff could probably be worked around in some places.
Ps vita one of the greatest handhelds of all time original psp being the first something I grew up with. Ps vita wasn’t a failure in my opinion. Can’t wait for the psp 2 to come put sometime in 2025 2026 I believe the article I read said.
This was definitely worth the wait
Great vid. Thanks!
8:21 MADNESS COMBAT
There was something so comforting just chilling at the main home inside your little spaceship thing before choosing a level in lbp2 sitting in the living room drinking a soda saying it's too cold in this room but still kept playing. Good times
