I really want the S5mkiix just wish it shot raw internally but it's always a give and take. The v-log is probbaly good enough for me in most cases and I can pull the trigger on the blackmagic video assist in the future as im on Resolve, all the options are really nice though. Nice review!
Ya it’s a pretty cool unit hey?! I personally won’t actually end up using a lot of the raw features as I feel like most of the codecs that write to the SD cars are good enough for what I do. Big jobs though I could see it being helpful. At least they give you all the options! 🙌🏼
3:16 the frame wobble is very apparent. I'm assuming you were recording with a pretty wide lens like a 16 or 18 here. I know a few reviewers has mention that anything lower than 20mm the edges start to wobble alot.
I would say some of it is because of rolling-shutter so maybe not all fixable but it be good to reduce it. That being said I much prefer some wobble than the jerking of the Sony IBIS (a7IV), that really ruins shots
@@9adriano21 I notice that when the ibis is off , it do t wobble but active is wobbles less than canon cameras which is acceptable. They need to correct it still for better use
I noticed it a little bit as well during the walking stuff. Shot super wide at 16mm so would make the wobble more prevelant. I’ll chat with them and see what we can make happen, it’s a good note to make. Thanks for the input! 🙌🏼
I have the 85mm and the 35mm. They are indeed the same shape but the 85 is slightly heavier than the 35 and you may need to make slight adjustments when using a gimbal.
Man the more I watch this Lumix the more I get dragged to it. Was on my way to Sony a7iii but this is so much more value for the money obviously. For an entry photographers perspective

i have the s5 and the image quality of this camera is something else specially with 35mm lens .I was inpancient and i bought canon r8 until new lumix s5iix would be ready for delivery,but now even though i am very pleased with these 2 cameras ,you conviced me to decide to sell lumix s5 for s5iix😄

Nice video, thanks! I just got the S5II and I like it a lot. But there is no full frame slow motion with autofocus, even in 1080p??? I can accept no 4k60 full frame but coming from an Sony A7Siii and missing my GH5 qualities I went back Panasonic on this model. it's very frustrating that there's no autofocus when shooting full frame slow motion frame rates in any resolution.
@@TheCarCreative I'm new to the camera so maybe it's user error but when I put it in full frame 1080p 50/60 it disables autofocus. It will work in apsc 1080p slow Mo but it just stops working when I change to full frame in 50/60. Are you getting autofocus in full frame 1080p slow motion or apsc?

Those sound like some serious specs! I would be curious the price point if it's an approachable price point for upcoming creators? Honestly though most cameras these days will be sufficient but I have never found a camera that creates content the same way I see it in my mind like the Lumix. Thanks for watching!

Ya the full frame is a big selling feature if your looking to jump into it! Technically you’re already on the “cropped” slow motion with the micro 4/3 sensor? So it’s just a big win with going full frame and getting better bokeh and low light performance. I’ve never used the GH series but I hear great things.
Thanks for the review. I might pick up this camera over the fx3 and a7s3 for my video only camera. It's tough since I've been going back and forth between the a7s3 and fx3 and now I discover the lumix s5iix which fits my needs since I post social media content. I'm already in the Sony ecosystem which I have the a7r3 as my photo camera with GM 24-70 2.8 and GM 70-200 2.8. What would you do in my situation?
Man, that's tough. If you're already in the Sony ecosystem and are happy with it then I don't see a need to switch. Being able to use all your lenses for photo and video is really helpful honestly, so that to me would be a draw back for you having to bring multiple lens types to shoots for different camera bodies. I know for me though, I have found the Lumix to be a great "everything" camera. I don't need the large file sizes from the larger "photo centric" cameras, in fact it slows down my work flow with big file sizes. 24mp photos has been more then enough for me to do professional work and print. If you were looking to switch to something else, S5iiX is pretty damn cool. You could watch the video I made with this camera against the Sony A7Siii and that might help you a step further. I appreciate you watching mate, hope this is helpful!
I purchased Lumix S5, and S5ii before Lumix reached out to send the Lumix S5iiX. Not paid at all. I already have their favour. I genuinely love sharing my experiences on TH-cam and as I said in the info I have used Sonys and canons all before in my 10 years as a creator and I like this camera the most. Just my opinions, take what’s good from it and hopefully you enjoyed the content mate. 👊🏼

Hey mate. I appreciate your honest feedback, and from a viewers perspective I can see how you could get to that opinion. It's definitely tough as someone who creates free content for audiences to consume, to ride the balance between making content that can put food on the table, and create content that I know my audience will enjoy. This video for example... I was paid by neither Lumix, nor Bluetti to create this content... in fact I'm GIVING a free product away to those that want an opportunity to have it. I am personally excited by the Lumix camera system and have PURCHASED the camera for myself, hence why I made this video. I think for most content creators it is a fantastic option that is cheaper than most and checks a lot of the boxes. I enjoy educating people on their options and hope that this a place people can come to learn, and gain tools for their own content creation. What I see on TH-cam is most content creators getting sent products and creating relevant videos for people to educate themselves on those products. I don't feel I'm doing anything different, do you? Unfortunately I don't believe in such a coincidence :) What I write below does not apply specifically to you also without offense but .... ... I don't understand filmmakers who can't say clearly: yes, I got this equipment as part of the collaboration, I also got a fee for this film. However, I tested this equipment and I think it's time to switch from my Canon / Nikon / Sony because this product is perfect for me. You are thus credible, sincere and do not hide that you are a filmmaker who lives from collaborations - this is normal. The worst thing is to hide that you don't have cooperation when you have it. Once again, don't take it hard, this is probably a message to all creators - by being sincere you only gain. I wish you a lot of right choices in life and joy in what you do - that's the most important thing.

Does he sound too excited talking about the new Lumix? Well, it's a 4.000€ camera sold for half the price, why shouldn't he be happy? Gerald Undone is what, a Sony shooter? Loves the S5ii and X. Lok and Jordan Drake, former S1H, S5 shooters who openly complained about their autofocus, love the new cameras. The only conspiracy I see here is crop in the 4k60 being a negative factor when it's, again, something only much pricier cameras get to avoid. If you were following Alex for that long you'd remember he clearly stated his honest reasons for switching, how he didn't get to travel to Tokyo like a lot of other youtubers (trips paid for by Panasonic iirc) yet he still BOUGHT the S5ii early on, and yeah, maybe all creators could start the videos presenting the legal background for all equipment they use but by the 5th second much of the audience would be gone in this tiktok world. ***I fully paid for my Lumix S5 :/

@@TheCarCreative i pretty sure that the s52x has real vlog, and the gh5 only has vlog l, which is okay, but not the real deal. But it shoots 10bit, so it is possible to match :)
@rusti_is i am in the market to move up from aps-c to full frame and now trying to decide between A7Rii, z6ii or this new DC-S5ii. primarily i wanna shoot photo but some video here and there as well in nature, landscapes, street, cityscape and portraits. i do want best quality obviously but also considering lens options and cost overall. part of the reason i am not considering Canon is their new stance and blocking third party lenses. i am not a fan of closed ecosystems and would like to leave myself the option to choose. what would you recommend?

Sure can! Tracking autofocus, zone focus, all kinds of focus options that are just as good as the competitors.

If you don’t plan to use ProRes files you could also just get the S5ii and it has all the same great features just no ProRes.
+ menu for people, and not for robots. Smart menu system is a huge plus.

I don’t know what you’re using but I use 1080p 60fps with autofocus…

I love my S5ii & Dji Rs3 mini. I also think once I get the 18mm f1.8 i'll have the perfect s5ii setup & that 4k won't matter

If you were following Alex for that long you'd remember he clearly stated his honest reasons for switching, how he didn't get to travel to Tokyo like a lot of other youtubers (trips paid for by Panasonic iirc) yet he still BOUGHT the S5ii early on, and yeah, maybe all creators could start the videos presenting the legal background for all equipment they use but by the 5th second much of the audience would be gone in this tiktok world.

@@TheCarCreative yeah... But I think its finally time to get a new camera, i still use the good old gh5. But I think the combination with the lumix a5 m 2 x as my A cam, og the gh5 as my B cam would be a great combo!
Totally! They both have VLog I assume? So similar profiles for matching color in post?
@@TheCarCreative i pretty sure that the s52x has real vlog, and the gh5 only has vlog l, which is okay, but not the real deal. But it shoots 10bit, so it is possible to match :)

i am in the market to move up from aps-c to full frame and now trying to decide between A7Rii, z6ii or this new DC-S5ii. primarily i wanna shoot photo but some video here and there as well in nature, landscapes, street, cityscape and portraits. i do want best quality obviously but also considering lens options and cost overall. part of the reason i am not considering Canon is their new stance and blocking third party lenses. i am not a fan of closed ecosystems and would like to leave myself the option to choose.
what would you recommend?
