I'm honestly a little dissapointed in the high iso performance. I came from a m43 camera with some of the nokton f0.95 lenses, replaced em with the s5iix and the f1.8 primes. The FF is performing better in lowlight, but honest by a way smaller margin than I expected. And it's annoying because my ISO on m43 never really needed to go above 6400 with such fast glass. With the f1.8 lenses and the s5iix I found myself going to iso 12800 to 25600 regularly at the first event I shot with it.
Seems like you gloss over there are way more third party lens options for Sony that are vastly cheaper and just have more selection than anything on L mount. You also negate the fact the A7Siii can be found used for about the same price as an S5ii with way better resell value in the future. Lastly, the ecosystem is hard to ignore. Once you have an S5ii and maybe you want another body for sports??? Panasonic really doesn’t have any other bodies worth while for now. Maybe in the future? Sony has a full lineup for whatever your needs are. Get the tool you need for the job your doing. Everything you showed in this video could have been done with the ZV-E1 in fact. That said, Panasonic has done a fantastic job and the S5ii is a legitimate piece of gear to consider for anyone not invested in any ecosystem.
It's little be annoying start up, time from video end and play file. My joystick somtimes lag when i change focusing modes. Butbi think sony has other similar problems?
Another important factor is that the Lumix comes with a built in fan. Son cameras always have an issue with temperatures. Like the a7 series. If you are shooting in hot weather, you need to control your camera's temp.
I'm looking to get back into photography, mainly landscapes and wildlife, I used to have a canon 450d a long time ago, I had my heart set on a Sony a7iii, but the lumix has caught my eye recently, would the lumix be a better option and why?
I believe I know what camera I’m going to get now. I’ve watched countless of videos and I love how you explained everything and the examples you gave! I believe the lumix s5ii will work for what I need in a daily camera! Thank you!
I don't like Sony. I'm with Nikon now, but i see the price of the overall package (body and lenses) and Panasonic seems very tempting. Now Samyang join into the L-Mount Alliance, if they bring the 35-150 f2-2.8 and the 135mm f1.8 to L-Mount at good price it could be an unbeatable system for the price.
The key deciding factor for me is whether the new tool will give me maximum versatility for the buck. I don't need absolutely the best quality in every category. I need great usability, portability, and flexibility. If Panasonic puts hybrid phase detect AF and the L-squared processor in a new GH series camera, I'm all in. I can live without full frame.
Well, they just did it, but not as a GH camera. The G9 II is basically an S5 IIX without the fan, but with a Micro 4/3 sensor. SWEET package! Some people are buying into both systems for their unique advantages.
@@LakeHowellDigitalVideounfotrunately no. You can adapt almost any dslr mirror camera lenses to mirrorless, but mirrorless to mirrorless - no, because of a flange focal distance.
When it comes to low light performance, it really depends on how you're using it because the Panasonic looks better at all ISOs up until 12,800 when the Sony's second native ISO kicks in. So the Sony is better in _extreme_ low light, but under more common conditions, the Panasonic is probably the better option.
Great review. LUMIX is tempting for the price. One thing I need to highlight about the IS in this video. LUMIX is definitely better but I don’t think it was fare showing Sony in real time speed and showing lumix in slowmo
@@TheCarCreative But something is clearly off. If you look @11:10 the Lumix image is very smudged and before the Sony was very crispy, specially the car itself. Later on the video you show a much better footage on the S5II.
Please tell me your options for choosing a lens. There is a very limited choice. I need one universal zoom for an event and something wide-angle for creativity.
Unfortunately Sony committed to users using Catalyst Browse for stabilization so the IBIS is nowhere near as good. Insane to see this good of IBIS in a camera, kudos to Lumix!
MOV has more info so you can push colourgrading further, MP4 is fine and I've gotten alot of use out of it. 10-bit is always better than 8 but if you're not colourgrading and you're already happy with how the video looks out of the camera, 1080p 8bit is fine.
Bought the LUMIX s5 II in Germany for 1000 euros with the winter cashback. Which is 1450 Canadian. The price difference is huge. I don’t see a reason to buy the Sony 7 siii, especially as a normal person!
thank you for this video, i work for a bestbuy in the camera department and seeing the IS on the s5iix has me sold between the two cameras, i’ve shot on the a7 for the last 7 years and picked up the a7c almost a year and i am TIRED of shaky handheld video
Amazing man! I haven’t personally used that lens but I have all the Lumix primes and really dig them! I believe that lens in particular is designed in partnership with Leica so the quality is veeerrry high.
You didn't touch on autofocus. Picture-wise, Lumix cameras are way ahead of the pack. Even the old GH5 produces better-looking and more pleasing, film-like pictures than the FX6 and FX9, let alone the a7S III.
I shot this on the 35mm Lumix S. My tops three are the Lumix 35mm, the Lumix 85mm, and I have the Sigma 16-28mm L mount for vlogging and real estate etc…
In terms of lenses you should mention about the wider range avaliable for sony E mount. Don't focus on G-Masters only. There are plenty of affordable and great Tamrons, Samyangs etc. way cheaper than L-mount glasses. At the end of the day, you will spent more on full set of lenses for Lumix than for Sony (in my country at least). And whats more they are way easier to get in rental :)
Sony has a definite edge in the sheer number of lenses, but Panasonic / L-Mount is starting to catch up. Rokinon / Samyang is now producing lenses for L-Mount, and Sigma makes any lens available for E-Mount also available for L-Mount. Unfortunately there is no sign that Tamron will start making lenses for L-Mount though:( Maybe viltrox will though? Also the various Chinese manual focus manufacturers do make lenses for L-Mount (TT Artisan and such).
I actually can see the difference between a 300$ lens and a for example 2000$ GM lens, for example my footage looks much better, clearer and crispier with 24 GM than with a 16 Sigma lens….i dont want to say that Sigma is totaly bad pr something, but me personally i see the difference between such a high price difference 🤔
Hey! I think it’s a 1.5x crop. And I’ve got another whole video on the Lumix stuff previously as to why I chose it. Feel free to check it out. I bought the S5 moving over from Canon R6 and yes the autofocus was not great on that, S5ii and S5iiX are plenty good now! Very reliable.
Really great review. But looking at you, shooting vertical video, I think the Lumix-only "Open Gate" possibilities of the S5IIX would have been worth mentioning...
I shoot on a a6400 but want to move to the full frame game. Debating between the A7iii or the S5iix. I mainly do photo and some video stuff. Also do mostly automotive stuff.
Mate it’s a no brainer. The A7iii is a fantastic photo camera but very limited for video work. Lumix has all the same photo abilities, and if you grow into the video features there is so much more there! But, as everything on TH-cam, make sure to do your own research. I rented a Lumix before buying it which really helped solidify my decision. 👍🏼
@@CollinBeBassin I shot a bunch of rollers in this session. It’s great man. As long as you get the new Lumix cameras with phase detect auto focus. So with the s5, make sure you get the mark 2 or 2X. That’s when it was introduced to the full frame side.
While I agree its best to get the slow motion in camera, the new ai slow motion in Da Vinci is so damn good! Even better when making 120fps plus even slower. It's like the smoothest butter.
Yeah, a lot of features in both cameras and editing software are going to make the counterpart features in the OTHER one redundant (e.g. slow motion like you mentioned, but also like if you want really OOF backgrounds, you can now do that in Da Vinci Resolve too, even though you shot it on a m4/3rd camera at f9 or something).
Good video and comparison. I'm also consider getting the Lumix, love the stabilization. But I find that some roller shots seem out of focus almost like the camera didn't recognize the subject so it focused on the background or something. Does this happen often or is it just a random mistake? Nice work, love the videos btw
I would say the focus is good, probably a user error in not tapping on what I wanted it to focus on… lots to think about when hanging out of a car haha! But focus is very good on Lumix S5ii now.
All these cameras in the past 2 years are all SICK!! still rocking the original R6. I’ll wait for next generation of cameras as so far they are all similar if not the same!
Facts. I cant even fathom what will come out in the next 5-10 years. If u only compare what type of cameras we had mere 10 years ago in 2013, and what u have now its incredible.
The big difference is that the Lumix is not a slow-motion camera. For 60fps it becomes an APSC camera in 4K automatically and when you do full frame 1080p at 60 you lose the PDAF and only get contrast-based AF. That said I just use EF lenses and an adapter the few times I need to shoot 60fps. but for slowmo shooters skip lumix.
I’ll add to this, slow mo shooters that are shooting professionally, maybe should spend more for the Sony at this moment. But if you’re shooting for social, or anything on the internet, it holds up no issues. Great insights though, accurate information and I appreciate you adding to the conversation! 🙌🏼👊🏼 Cheers.
biggest issue with the Lumix is going to be the crop into slow motion for switching to b roll on the fly (especially of cars) the camera otherwise looks great
If you use free Sony Catalyst Browse software, it will use the in camera gyroscopic metadata of the A7SIII and some other higher end sony cams to stabilize the footage really well. Now obviously right out of the camera, the Lumix still has that edge, but I'd be interested to see another stabilization comparison of the same footage with the Catalyst Browse stabilized A7SIII footage next to the Lumix footage.
Hi. I'm shooting with the a7iv and after using Sony's catalyst and I'm getting banding in my skies after I export my footage to further edit it in both resolve and davinci. Perhaps you might know why?
Thank you for your honest advice I actually just bought a free 50mm 1.8 with my S5ii that already had a 20-60mm kit lens. Sorry but somehow Sony seems like a money pit.
In this comparison I would go with the Lumix. More megapixels technically but again this all comes down to where you end up using those photos. Both / most cameras are good enough for social / web.
or an GH6: 10 Bit and 422 in almost all formats, 420 in 120 and 300fps/FHD Imho all these 3 do not fall in the same category! GH6 because it will fall in low light and death of field and the S Series because: no slomo
But lens selection (and the used market) for lumix is no fun. Put the sony on a gimbal and enjoy the tamron, samyang, sony g etc lenses. It's weird you bring this up as a negative for sony, when the lumix pro lenses are incredibly expensive and the 3rd party options are nonexistant except for a few sigma/laowa lenses. Lumix is pretty much a 1.8 primes platform, maybe the 24-105 too.
Sigma, Leica, and Panasonic lenses are ALL first party lenses in the L-Mount alliance. They all use the same base mount and electronic interface specifications. Each lens has to perform properly on all three camera brands' bodies.
You are obviously prejudice toward the Panasonic… Money should not be the deciding factor between these two cameras. I’m not saying it’s not important I’m saying that’s the least important to make your decision. The stabilization of the Panasonic is the one feature that leans me toward that, but the low light of the Sony is amazing. Tough decisions.
Most Sony shooter don’t shoot factory luts. They shoot with phantom luts. I shoot on Sony because of affordable third glass from sigma, Samyang, and Tamron. There is 3 24-70 2.8mm. You have sigma 24-70 2.8, Samyang 24-70, and tamron 28-75mm.
I got a wider lens for a fraction of the price and now I have a lens aaand good slow motion haha. I do think Sony wins in that area and hopefully Lumix will give us that full frame slow motion and then it’ll be the perfect camera.
@@TheCarCreative exactly, it's usable now with proper lenses, when lumix will give us just that one thing, 4k 60 no crop and that's all, lumix is good camera. 60fps is enough to slow it down to 25fps what I do, not really need 100fps.
Okay there are some valid points man...but...really :D "image stabilization" chapter mate...I shoot a really shitload of handheld with Sony (started with Sony A7III...then Sony A7SIII) and the stabilisation is not that bad like you show in the video. And the whole thing that is quite a funny blooper...why the hell did you use the out of focus shot as a sample on Lumix? But do not get me wrong...I think Panasonic is doing good cameras and it is trying to move forward they get just at last moment to FF game and it was a good choice for them...but for me it is still Sony as the most pushing company. But why did you not compared the Lumix S5IIx with some body at the same price range? Like Sony A7IV maybe? These two bodies makes more sense to compare. But the Sony A7S is something like a cult these days as well so that is probably why the camera still has its price so hih on the other hand...it is a somekind of a proof that this one camera is still relevant to buy and use. I liked the video as the whole...you did some comparsion there is some points but as I said earlier...why not to compare it with something that makes more sense? Sony A7SIII would be better to compare with the S1H that I really liked but in the end I bought otherwise. :) Keep up the good work!
got both. And the S5 is gread no question but not compareable with the sony. Expecially when you do stuff like scuba there is no better "compact" setup then the a7siii.
You lost me when you said you used the same VLOG lut for both cameras. The reds across the cams look very different - and we can't really get any type of solid color comparison when you're throwing a Panasonic lut on the Sony. Other than that... cool video.
Really good insights! As a someone considering between FX30 and S5 IIX this was really informative video. s52x would do everything but the crop between 24/60 might be holding me back, that’s why I’m biased towards FX30 but…. It is kind of annoying these days that there is the new king of the hill appearing every month and they are not cheap per se. Just give me the Canon colors, Panasonic tools like shutter angle and waveworms and ibis and Sony AF under $2500, is that too much to dream of? 😂😂😂
Lumix S5iix is a full frame camera, has insane stabilization, pretty decent colors and a ton of features. FX30 is crop sensor and lacks most of the features that S5iix provides
i got an used FX30 - there was a good offer on that piece. I quite like it - and for me the small lenses are a benefit. After 3 Months of use : never had a beast like that. @@davemorphling7432
When a red Porsche turns out magenta on the Lumix and that's not worth being mentioned, that's what I call a professional review. Hey, who needs correct colors anyway.
After working with Canon, colors are even worse, Sony also has some of the most difficult colors to grade I have ever used. There are always going to be pros and cons with cameras and the way their pixels read the colors. I personally like the Lumix compared to any other brand I’ve used, none are perfect. Thanks for your critique though. Reds are absolutely the hardest color to edit for me, always tough to get just right, especially with a beautiful PTS Guards Red. Tough to nail.
Yeah Lumix is so tempting. Especially for somebody on a budget. I am somewhat infested in Sony lenses but what intrigues me about Lumix besides its bit more sexy body in my opinion. Although I think that The FX3 is sexy as well. But being able to record to SSD in ProRes or just in general. And being able to shoot open gate as I regularly need to repurpose for social media. I wish open gate and SSD recording was higher on Sony's priority. I would rather these features than a global shatter. And it doesn't seem like we're at least going to get open gate on a sub $10,000 camera for a very long time from the Sony world.
Ya dude. Honestly Lumix is a budget option for your wallet with veeeery few compromised on quality. Ive used it all and come back to Lumix every time with no regrets.
to be honest if someone buys one of this cameras as to do it as a work investment. I dont see why people hould buy one of this cameras just to "record" as a hobby ( beeing these cameras Video focus ). Even if money is not a problem people hould buy the "R" or alpha from sony or a Canon. Dont get me wrong, that lumix is dope and is a good value for money but i think for this price people prefer to invest a little more and have a night king with the low light performance for sony. I have the a7iv and dont regret a single bit! crazy specs for a better price. Photo quality of a7siii is just meh... but its normal as it is a video focus camera....
The only only only place that Panasonic is better than Sony is in stabilization. Everything else Sony is better. We don’t all post just to TH-cam. Sometimes we actually have to do broadcast or even more than that. And if you knew anything about da Vinci resolve, you know that Sony And da Vinci resolve work great together. Also, Sony looks more film like and Panasonic looks more digital soap opera like.

This is actually super helpful! Thank you for taking the time to write this out. Gives me more peace knowing I could actually use it without having to buy a hard drive every shoot 🙌🏼
@@TheCarCreative I'm getting the S5iix in January. This video also helps solidify my buying choice 🙏
Love the authenticity. As a fmr TV reporter looking to shoot and post to TH-cam, this was incredibly helpful.
4000 ISO is extremely clean on the S5 II. Love it.
so does the 12800 or even 16000 on the sony.
Thank you!
It’ll definitely work. They’re powerful cameras no doubt.
Okay, since I want to see more about the Lumix S5ii X you just got yourself a new subscriber :)
just get zv e1 intead of a7siii if you need videography specs
Rolling shutter. I like to pan, I like to move. Sony for me unfortunately
Truth! The readout of the S5ii sensor is soooo slow.
In aps-the same like Fs3
will the Lumix camara also work for podcasting and you tube video? I appreciate your answer. :)
@@berthacruz856 I use my Lumix cameras for everything! Big fan of the S5ii 🙌🏼
Rolling Shutter?
The key deciding factor for me is whether the new tool will give me maximum versatility for the buck. I don't need absolutely the best quality in every category. I need great usability, portability, and flexibility. If Panasonic puts hybrid phase detect AF and the L-squared processor in a new GH series camera, I'm all in. I can live without full frame.
G9ii is the camera you're looking for, check it out.
S5II, S5IIX and the G9 II all of them have that technology now.
Well, they just did it, but not as a GH camera. The G9 II is basically an S5 IIX without the fan, but with a Micro 4/3 sensor. SWEET package! Some people are buying into both systems for their unique advantages.
@williamburkholder769 Agreed! G9ii is a powerhouse of a camera!
You can buy third-party lens for Sony, not necessarily to buy G-Master lenses, and the amount of lenses you can buy for Sony is quite incredible.
I believe you can adapt all those Sony lens to L mount. I know the Canon EF lenses work great on my Lumix S5.
Agreed! Lumix has got something figured out 🙌🏼
What do Yo think, can I power up S5IIX via dummy battery with Crane 2 power output? Output 8V, like for 5DII, III.
I’m not sure I haven’t tried it but it does have usbc input for power. 👍🏼
Great review. LUMIX is tempting for the price.
One thing I need to highlight about the IS in this video. LUMIX is definitely better but I don’t think it was fare showing Sony in real time speed and showing lumix in slowmo
Someone else commented this also. Lumix was in 24fps. Not slowed down.
@@TheCarCreative for real 😮? It looks slow. Thanks for the response
@@TheCarCreative But something is clearly off. If you look @11:10 the Lumix image is very smudged and before the Sony was very crispy, specially the car itself. Later on the video you show a much better footage on the S5II.
The difference isn't much , both cameras seem amazing. thank you for the insightful review, it was helpful.
Please tell me your options for choosing a lens. There is a very limited choice. I need one universal zoom for an event and something wide-angle for creativity.
Sigma 24-70 dg dn and a 20mm art prime
Okay but lets talk about ROLLING SHUTTER ? s5 23ms a7s3: 9ms ?
he was talking about the S5M2X
Unfortunately Sony committed to users using Catalyst Browse for stabilization so the IBIS is nowhere near as good. Insane to see this good of IBIS in a camera, kudos to Lumix!
Pretty mind blowing results. Makes it very easy to just pick up a camera and shoot anything!
@@TheCarCreative my biggest issue is all my glass is for sony
have you compared to zv e 1 dynamic active?
did you shoot internally or externally (screen or ssd) on this shoot - amazing work :))
You shoot MOV or MP4 and you think 10bit makes much different over 1080p 8 bit for socials?
MOV has more info so you can push colourgrading further, MP4 is fine and I've gotten alot of use out of it. 10-bit is always better than 8 but if you're not colourgrading and you're already happy with how the video looks out of the camera, 1080p 8bit is fine.
Thanks!
No thank you! I think this could be the first ever gift on the channel man! Means a lot. Truly. 👊🏼🫶🏼
Amazing video with good info, thank you. With which camera did you shoot your talking head?
Bought the LUMIX s5 II in Germany for 1000 euros with the winter cashback. Which is 1450 Canadian. The price difference is huge. I don’t see a reason to buy the Sony 7 siii, especially as a normal person!
thank you for this video, i work for a bestbuy in the camera department and seeing the IS on the s5iix has me sold between the two cameras, i’ve shot on the a7 for the last 7 years and picked up the a7c almost a year and i am TIRED of shaky handheld video
Lumix hands down has best IS. Many other pros also, but once you see them you’ll never go back. Such a great camera brand. 🙌🏼
About to order a S5IIX do you have any thoughts on the Lumix S PRO 24-70 f/2.8 lens
Amazing man! I haven’t personally used that lens but I have all the Lumix primes and really dig them! I believe that lens in particular is designed in partnership with Leica so the quality is veeerrry high.
@@TheCarCreative Thank you so much for replying. Big fan of yours love all your content
How much is Lumix so 24-70 f/2.8
I had a choice to choose A7Siii or the S5 and choose the S5 but I didn’t like the auto focusing so I upgraded to the S5iiX. Now I’m ready to get busy
Yes sir! HUUUUGE difference in usability when you get the PDAF system in the new S5ii system. Now the image quality is fantastic!
You didn't touch on autofocus. Picture-wise, Lumix cameras are way ahead of the pack. Even the old GH5 produces better-looking and more pleasing, film-like pictures than the FX6 and FX9, let alone the a7S III.
😂😂😂
what Lumix lens was this shot with? Also what are your top 3 lumix lenses?
That is literally all I care about screw the camera give me a million lenses with competition
The guy is a muppet, he tries his best to complain about sony
Sony has a definite edge in the sheer number of lenses, but Panasonic / L-Mount is starting to catch up. Rokinon / Samyang is now producing lenses for L-Mount, and Sigma makes any lens available for E-Mount also available for L-Mount. Unfortunately there is no sign that Tamron will start making lenses for L-Mount though:( Maybe viltrox will though? Also the various Chinese manual focus manufacturers do make lenses for L-Mount (TT Artisan and such).
Hey mate, cheers ! Very cool review.
Panasonic shoots only in 4K crop ?
I actually can see the difference between a 300$ lens and a for example 2000$ GM lens, for example my footage looks much better, clearer and crispier with 24 GM than with a 16 Sigma lens….i dont want to say that Sigma is totaly bad pr something, but me personally i see the difference between such a high price difference 🤔
Once u are a GM user, U wont even consider third party lens or sony non GM lens 😂
where do you see a 300 $ S lens on S5iix?
I get you do not need one. But can you use the combo of a bimbal with Lumixs stablization?
Heck ya! I do it all the time. Buttery smooth.
@@TheCarCreative Good to know!
Whats the crop on 4k 60 for the lumix? And too bad you didn’t mention the AF because the original S5 wasn’t a winner on this matter
@@TheCarCreative sounds great thanks. 1.5x is pretty steep but even the a74 is the same. Wider lens should compensate in this situation.
@@Emilioh888 exactly. I’ve got the sigma 16-28 F2.8 and when I use that in 60fps 4K it’s a 24-42 which is pretty great!
@@TheCarCreative nothing wrong with a 1.5 x crop. It becomes filmstandard 35 mm and in that mode most films are made.
Great video! I own both of these and I've been thinking of selling my a7siii. Hmmmmm
1:37 maybe Lumix may be better on Image Stabil. But the footage you show of the Lumix is in slow Motion. For the Sony in real time. It’s not fear
I know it looks that way but it isn’t in slow motion. Thanks for watching.
What about autofocus?
Sony is better
Clean visuals what lens did you use for this ?
35mm I think for the whole project.
I love the A7Siii - owned one for 3 years and shot hundreds of hours on it - and I think the S5IIx is a better camera overall.
Thank you. Very informative!
Really great review. But looking at you, shooting vertical video, I think the Lumix-only "Open Gate" possibilities of the S5IIX would have been worth mentioning...
Great video man, did you shoot this in Alberta?
Heck ya man! Calgary born and raised. This is highway 40 on the way out to Banff / Canmore area.
@@TheCarCreative Thank you man! My only question would be is the auto focus good enough for rollers?
Is it me or do you show real time footage when you talk about the IS for the Sony and slowmotion footage when you talk about the IS for the Lumix?
They are both filmed at 24fps. We may have been going a different speed but footage was not slowed down. Ibis in lumix is insanely good.
Uhmmm Sony system has lenses from all sorts of manufacturers from voigtlander, sigma, Zeiss, Tamron etc
Hey Alex!
I was really happy to see that you’re using the Lumix s52 too!
Wich lenses do you use on the S52? (Specifically for car photography )
Hey! Yes I love the Lumix S5ii and S5iiX! I use the Lumix 35mm and 85mm for photography and have the sigma 16-28mm for vlogging and video stuff.
@@TheCarCreativeDo the Sigma L lenses work as well as native LUMIX? Thanks!

Sony A7iv or S5iix is good what is your opinion. I am going to buy a camera firs time
So which one did you get?
Great stabilisation on the Lumix, but for a fair comparison you should not slow down Lumix footages..
It wasn’t slowed down… it was 24fps. 😅
@@TheCarCreativeyou must be kidding ? It’s that good ? Wow.
@@adpriviera it’s that good. No post stabilization.

Was the Lumix shot with dual IBIS? Which lenses were used? Great video btw
Just normal stabilization and used 35mm.
Great video, i think i will go for a S5IIX!!
biggest issue with the Lumix is going to be the crop into slow motion for switching to b roll on the fly (especially of cars) the camera otherwise looks great
Ya you nailed it. To be perfectly honest, for me, that’s the ONLY thing keeping it was being a perfect camera for me.
If you use free Sony Catalyst Browse software, it will use the in camera gyroscopic metadata of the A7SIII and some other higher end sony cams to stabilize the footage really well. Now obviously right out of the camera, the Lumix still has that edge, but I'd be interested to see another stabilization comparison of the same footage with the Catalyst Browse stabilized A7SIII footage next to the Lumix footage.
isn't it still digital stabilization with some cropping, also I reckon you lose the log format
Hi. I'm shooting with the a7iv and after using Sony's catalyst and I'm getting banding in my skies after I export my footage to further edit it in both resolve and davinci. Perhaps you might know why?
@@seasideshutterworx I guess it lowers the bitrate for some reason. This happens when you shoot in 8 bit and push the limits of the bitrate.

Which is the best camera for stills. Not everyone wants video.
In this comparison I would go with the Lumix. More megapixels technically but again this all comes down to where you end up using those photos. Both / most cameras are good enough for social / web.
@@TheCarCreative Thankyou 👌🏼
But why crop in 60 and 120 4k 👀
The same reason that the A7iv does...lol
or an GH6:
10 Bit and 422 in almost all formats, 420 in 120 and 300fps/FHD
Imho all these 3 do not fall in the same category! GH6 because it will fall in low light and death of field and the S Series because: no slomo
Hope LUMIX would have 28-200 lens, it is fit on traveling and not to heavy.
Tough decisions.
why would anyone buy a a7s iii now when you can get a 7s iv in less than 6 months
Sony a7siii is most likely to be the last camera of the "S" lineup
Most Sony shooter don’t shoot factory luts. They shoot with phantom luts.
I shoot on Sony because of affordable third glass from sigma, Samyang, and Tamron.
There is 3 24-70 2.8mm. You have sigma 24-70 2.8, Samyang 24-70, and tamron 28-75mm.
L mount has a bunch of third party glass...
You just talked about specs on the image quality, you didn’t compare the actual images/colors.
sony just wins with slowmotion, fhd 60 from lumix looks pretty poor, compare to sony's 4k, so slowmotion gotta be shot with crop using wider lenses
Keep up the good work!
Thanks man
You're welcome!
Not surprising to people using panasonic before everyone jumped on due to AF
1:50 No but I can tell you which one was in focus
Zve1 now! Same sensor !

Tough to nail.
idk man that seems to be a color grading issue to me more than a camera issue
Its 1.6 Gbps = 200 MBps for proress
So if you have 1 TB ssd you can record 5000 seconds or 83 minutes
Subbed and helped me settle on a decision 👍
What made the difference for ya?
Sony IBIS showed in normal speed, S5ii IBIS Shawn in slow motion😆 I have a S1 but this was obviously not a fair example.
Lumix was not in slow motion… that’s the crazy thing!
yikes WRONG. S5ii wasn't slo mo. Embarrassing
Ive used it all and come back to Lumix every time with no regrets.
am i trippin or is most of the lumix shots out of focus while the sony shots are spot on, makes me wanna stick with sony
I noticed aswell
to be honest if someone buys one of this cameras as to do it as a work investment. Photo quality of a7siii is just meh... but its normal as it is a video focus camera....
so long story short I would buy sony
The only only only place that Panasonic is better than Sony is in stabilization. Everything else Sony is better. We don’t all post just to TH-cam. Sometimes we actually have to do broadcast or even more than that. And if you knew anything about da Vinci resolve, you know that Sony And da Vinci resolve work great together.
Also, Sony looks more film like and Panasonic looks more digital soap opera like.
The LOPG is the game changer for all video camera in 2023
What does that mean
Great thanks I agree ,I got GH5🙏
