Just got a Wilson SCOT7 with SuperSkin today, “used” but it was barely even used to toss. I was focusing on the base of the trapeze for the pocket, but with 2IP it makes wayyyy more sense for it to shift to the index finger. This video may have been a life saver!

Great tips on how to break it in. Your window technique replaces how I broke in my mitt 40 years ago which was to place my glove with a baseball in the pocket and put it under my mattress and sleep on it overnight.

Hey Coach I really appreciate your glove break-in video’s youve been doing with Nick. I may have overlooked it, but can you tell me what Nick recommends as far as annual maintenance on the gloves? Specifically if there are any types of leather conditioners he recommends or anything else to prolong the life of these higher end gloves? Thank you again for all you do and looking forward to your response. Take care!

      Remember.....
Leather is leather. Weather it's a glove or a nice sofa, leather is resilient. The one thing I would avoid is adding too many oils or conditioners on it. What I like to do after a dirty game or even just every once in awhile is take a damp cloth and remove all excess dirt and clay from it. If possible, also always try and keep in room temperature and not in a garage or trunk of a car.
Keeping the shape is also crucial. Try to always remove glove from bag and leave palm down inside your room or locker.

The part where you whack it with a dumbbell, going back and forth just a few times under car tire does the same thing. But don't over do it. Just a few times. I love the Rawlings HOH trapeze glove. Easy to break in and it sucks in the ball.

Does the glove in the video have a leather palm pad? I just got a GG Elite 12.75” outfielder glove and it has one. Maybe in a year or two I’ll buy a Heart of the Hide Custom glove and I’m wondering if I should choose or not choose the leather palm pad?

break'in whisperer. great video. Love that glove when I first saw it. I plan on getting the red version asap.
How do I get the glove to Mr. Alvarez for break in; given the price of the glove, might as well get it professionally broken in. stay safe all. thanks again for the great content.

holy crap the timing!....I just got this glove last week, the red and black, not the newest one you guys have
I had time to kill on Saturday, stopped in at Paragon Sports, (which according to an insider, not an employee but someone very close, they said Paragon owes Rawlings over 350k and the place is gonna shut down..Hard to give a time frame but it's not so unbelievable cause of rent but mostly due to covid..so that means Peligro is gonna be the only store in all 5 boroughs with high end gloves if this is true! If they were a publicly traded company buy buy buy!) Anyway, the trout was probably a qtr broken in from 100s of people trying it on all day. Even a qtr broken in it felt so smooth but someone offered such a good price and having too many gloves already I sold it right away. I did end up buying a Wilson ot7 today. That spin control sold me, even if it's all marketing hype. Did you guys get a chance to try any spin control gloves yet? Mine should be here in a week. I was planning on getting an ot6 that day but I found out and read about the ot7 so I said I'll wait.
I also got a custom hoh dct that came in last week that I'd love to show you guys. I tried to make it as yankee colored as possible. Sort of worked, sort of didn't but I'd love to get your guys' opinion, whether negative or positive. It was my first custom and I already have an idea for a pro preferred next. I would've done the dct in pp but they have half the colors that hoh does. After watching this video it's making me think go out and buy another mt27 lol. Sorry for the long post but great video as always!
