Always great listening to you two "talk shop". Very informative. Can you elaborate on the differences, or pros and cons of the different types of glove closings--closing to the pinky versus closing to the ring finger? Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
Sure. Thumb to pinky is most common. Gives you a deep pocket. And if you want an even deeper pocket you go two in the pinky. Great way to secure the ball. The thumb to middle which is what I do is perfect for the NP series. It creates a very shallow pocket. Just take your bare hand without a glove and squeeze thumb to pinky then go thumb to middle you will see how much less space there is. The benefits of thumb to middle is shallow pockets for quicker transfer Gloves are designed to close a certain way.... You can Force break them.... Meaning a glove that is meant to close thumb to pinky can be forced to go thumb to middle but it will never have a good pocket. People will say this glove sucks or that glove sucks but the truth is they probably just bought the wrong model.
im assuming you guys have a sponsorship relationship with rawlings (i mean thats quite clear). I like rawlings a lot too. What are your thoughts on the a2ks and a2000s though? My son currently uses a rawlings encore as a 2b/ss in 7U but wants a custom a2000 next year for his birthday.
My son is about to turn 11. Pitches and playes infield. What glove do you recommend? I'd like a good glove that will last him until he's ready for a heart of the hide type glove . Thanks
Does the TT2 model work best for traditional or 2 in the pinky? I am ordering a custom pro preferred glove and was wondering if the TT2 model would work for me. I close my glove thumb to middle and wear it traditional (not 2 in the pinky)
I think it's hard to beat Rawlings or Wilson. I use to use Wilson. But switched over to Rawlings. I love the stitching on their gloves and the dyes are nice
I love how Dad is teaching his son to be thorough when he presents
Gotta keep peoples interest when you speak !!!

The Rawlings T-shirt and hat was a bit foreshadowing
