I'll let you have your day.
I would like to add on to what makes Jacque more terrifying. This is a headcannon of mine so bear with me. I think Winter(if she is in this project) was the first successor to "Father", but she fell short of his expectations. So there would be talks about possibly passing her over as heir by other members of the Schnee family (Another headcannon would be since the Schnee family is a lot more older, they have a few sister branches of the family). Winter, who knows the terrifying and horrifying training that Weiss would have to go through, tried to run away with her, but unlike canon, "Father" caught them before they got out. He brutally punished her (I like to think he forced her to duel her, and didn't hold back) and now considered her a libiility and thus sent her away to be watched since he still has plans for her. Little dark, but this version of Jacquee is mostly likely based on Tywin from Game of Thrones, and we all know how he treats his kids.
Everytime Weiss says Ze I lose it. I love how her father is an actual leader and pillar of strength that has made Weiss forced to be cold and endure the expectations of leadership.

The writing of the psychology is astounding! The pressure from the legacy is strengthened by the physical object of the mirror, and puts another layer of meaning behind "Mirror, mirror". You're not only talking to yourself, nor simply another being, but all your family, asking advice from and reflecting upon the very thing that pressures you. Plus, the psychology behind the Schnee name isn't merely "We're rich, we're noble, and we're racist", it actually puts reasoning behind all the cold strictness, the need to lead in a nightmare of a world, the requirement to fight against monsters, is to become a monster yourself.

I just realized something, Kid Weiss in this video has a German accent, but in the last two Remnants videos she doesn't have it. So meaning she must've dropped it at some point in her life.
Probably when she realized her father was a lunatic 😅
Maybe she intentionally changed her accent from what I assume is the Atlesian Accent to a Valean one when she left to study at Beacon Academy. A great trick of acting and writing later down the line would be for her to slip back into her accent whenever she gets overly emotional or speaks to her father.

@@LordCommander-ui2fw Possible. Alternatively, consider Jacques' accent. High European for sure, but not as strongly German as that of Weiss. Given his status as nobility (or even royalty), it would not be strange for him to neutralize his accent toward something more diplomatic. Like how English became the trade language for most of our world. Weiss could then have done likewise as she aged.

But notice Jacques doesn't completely abandon his accent either. Perhaps he wants people to understand him when he's speaking, but he also wants to remind them that he is a member of the Atlesian elite-and therefore, one of the most powerful people in the world, and therefore not to be trifled with.

that mirror scene was for a lack of a better word was chilling, this version of jacques is terrifying. and the implications here, the importance of legacy and so much world building as well. the world of remnant is much more ravaged than what we see here, but we get the context of it from just the family dynamic and important placed upon grimm slaying. and the schnee nothing more, dear god this is amazing. both the art and voice acting as well as the writing. this one short is so compelling.

So CRWBY’s take on Jacques Schnee was... less intimidating than I thought.
But THIS VERSION, where has this cold, sinister Jacques been all this time?? (Not to mention you have them German accents, I love it!) Jacques presence alone in here was intimidating, makes me wonder how Nicolas Schnee, Weiss’s grandfather, used to be.
Nicolas Schnee was Weiss's mother's father. Jacques married into the Schnee name remember.

@@SwitchbackCh Can't totally fact check this as I think it's at LEAST 7 or so years old. But way back when this all started it might have been Monty, again not sure but given that he was the FF7 fan its very likely. There was a thing going around that Ozpin was supposed to be like Sephiroth, one of the most powerful people on the planet. I think this was before the Maidens were retconned into existence, back when Cinder needed to stockpile Dust. (Early V1, before they abandoned the Dust plotline in favour of the Maidens) I know that it was admitted after CRWBY pulled Oscar out of their butt, that Oz was never supposed to die like he did (This was nodded at in Shanes Letter, when he mentioned how OP Cinder was.) Oscar was created by CRWBY's when they couldn't think of a better way to bring Ozpin back.

At first I was upset because of how radically different this was since for the most part all the other changes have been far subtler and basically looking at the world of Remnant with a tilted view. BUT! Then I realized that you didn’t change WHO Jacques was, only WHAT he was. He’s still a heartless greedy manipulative powerful bastard. That power is just different now, his ambitions are changed, his focus on his children is still toxic, and this makes him SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING! Absolutely love this, keep up this absolutely phenomenal work!

Already a better interpretation of Weiss and her Father relationship than in canon. Her Father is a Warrior and a true obstacle to her path to become who she really is, through considering that the canon really mess up with it being a company legacy rather than a warriors legacy.
I am still seeing the show, and though it is still good, in my opinion it would have been interesting to see this interpretation. It portrayed Weiss Father as a truly antagonist force like Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar the Last Airbender who uses their family legacy as a shackles and ball to keep Weiss in line, rather than a slippery businessman with loose moral values who doesn’t really holds any real amount of control to Weiss.
@@eren34558 I am not saying that Salem replace Weiss Father, but change the legacy from a Company to that of a Warriors Legacy, you know in a series about warriors fighting against monsters, a corrupt company doesn’t seems to fit properly, and considering that Atlas is a powerful military the Schnee Family could have been its head or its leaders and it will make more sense. We still get Weiss as a girl who wishes to uphold her family legacy of being Atlas greatest warriors, but trying to find out who she is outside of her father shadow.

The thing that I love most about this is that Jacques was in the same boat as Weiss.
It has been established that whatever "training" Weiss is going through is probably the same one Jacques had to go through to become what he is.
He is the reflection on Schnee legacy and what Weiss is suppose to become as well.

Have I said already how much I love this series? Cause' if I haven't yet, allow me to say this: Remnants is amazing. The dedication, heart and soul to the writing, fleshing out elements that hadn't been explored in the official series in really understandable and yet still unique ways are breathtaking. Everyone who is working on this should be proud and you have undying support.

This Jaqs is like an actually Business man (With some overlord status) who just wants to keep his company intact with a sweet cape, this is getting really interesting. Oh, I'm getting chills from the new Jacques on the Ice Block
I was unsure at first with the accent. And then the second half of this video hit like a freaking truck. Now THAT'S a psychological war right there! It's intense and a VERY grey zone instead of just black and white, compounded all the more so due to Jacques actually making some sense here.

This is amazing. I loved how your Alternate / Fanfiction Universe is going, I'd honestly love to see this side of both Weiss and Jacques. And don't take this as anything bad because personally I love alternate takes on stories, but I think you could've made this an original story (By that I mean non-RWBY) and people would've fell in love with whichever character you had here. I don't think people love it just because it's Weiss, but for the Character you and Toast are displaying. To be honest I have no clue who any of the voice actors / actresses are. But they are all super talented. Can't wait to watch more and see who your story unfolds.
Thanks! And none taken - I have several original stories planned actually, and part of the enjoyment I gain from fan projects in particular is the unique context. I could definitely use this idea for an original character, definitely, but it's the fact it plays with and explores Weiss, her father and the world of Remnant as we know it that makes it exciting!

Love this project so much, it’s amazing❤️🤍🖤💛 the art and atmosphere it gave is beautiful. Also Weiss’s dad is really intimidating😨 I kinda like to imagine for a little more tragedy of Weiss’s situation is she lost her German accent because she was trying so hard to be like her father, trying to copy him. It’d be really sweet when she’s with her friends she sometimes slips up on her accent because she’s comfortable and relaxed around them.
Alright, mini rant coming up.
Me and my brother have had an hour long discussion on this topic, and we both agree. Weiss' cannon weapon is shit on its own. She needs a reliable ranged sidearm for maximum efficiency, and since Myrtenaster can be used with one hand a pistol would be perfect. Our Idea (mainly my brothers) is a revolver that is magazine fed. What I mean is the actual bullets are in the magazines that go in the handle, like a regular current era pistol, but they don't have a specific dust type. The actual dust is in the revolver chamber, meaning she can switch what type of dust bullet she fires without reloading. this way she gets maximum efficiency as well as versatility. Who likes this Idea?

To be fair I’ve always seen Myrtenaster as fitting for Weiss because it reminded me of a wand that composers used. But considering the change in canon story, I think a pistol would work better.
