@ironbeagle1610 Shorter hits means less oil vaped per hit. Most 1g carts should be 100 or more 'doses' depending on potency and concentrate type. So if you are getting higher while also not using as much concentrate per hit/dose then that is efficient and I'm not sure where you got lost on that lol
@ironbeagle1610 nope not necessarily. While yes a bigger/longer hit will produce more smoke it actually had less potential potency because of the increased heat burning off terpenes and cannibinoids. Lower temp hits burns less stuff off and increases flavor and helps give you a higher potential for higher potency hits. So basically 2 blinkers will use the same amount of oil as 4 smaller hits but not get you as high as the smaller hits because you burned off that thc/thca before it hits your lungs.
After years of just not "getting" low temp dabs, this video finally made me see the light. Just did my first successful low temp dab and wow what a difference. No more coughing my lungs up
If you're gonna heat your glass to get the reclaim anyway then I recommend using a hair dryer. Its a way less harsh heat and you'll have to keep it on there longer but it has less of a chance of damaging your glass
@@sprie23 Desperate times call for desperate measures, my man. Not everyone has fresh dabs at their disposal, and if they aren't asking you to smoke it, why should you care? Still contains around 60 percent THC, high in CBD, great for body high. Even when I got dabs a plenty, I still save my reclaim, and it has saved my ass at points lol.
And you can smoke it after 99 percent iso, it's mostly alcohol which evaporated during the drying process. After it's got a semi-hardened consistency, it can hit like good flower. 🤙
@@jihartbladhest2749 I have a Hunni Badger and a few other electric nectar collectors. They work on the go but I'd never use it at home because its wasteful as fuck. I've tested it over and over, the same sized dab off my banger and rig vs the badger or any of my other e-straws....it's night and day. That said the badger is the best of that category as far as I'm concerned. It gets clogged the least, the battery lasts forever and it hits great.
The Lookah Seahorse Pro Plus. Have you tried them. Could be worth it. Only $46. Also comes with a hose to attach to bongs. Unreal device. Allows you to choose low temp(my favorite) medium temp or high temp!
As someone who has been dabbing for about a year, I can say without shame I have DESTROYED some bangers. I made them literally black and gross, luckily not any expensive ones, but I have wrecked some bangers, and even now, I don't own a crystal clear banger. I own some that are pretty clear, with some smudges, but none of them are perfect, because I am still learning, it's a hard thing to do right, and nobody is perfect unless they practice, so while I 100% agree with this video, I also don't want people to feel bad for messing it up, there will be sacrifices made to the oil gods to learn how to dab properly. This is also why I like e-rigs a lot, because it removes the hard part of dabbing :)
BRO.I just got the Dr Dabber Switch (Suga Sean edition) and I'm a relatively new dabber, just wanted a solid device to get me started. So I was ripping this thing like a bong, not getting much vapor and being confused. Watched this, loaded a booger in there, sipped on it, and holy shit brother I may have to call out of work. I've wasted so much wax, resin, etc by just torching it off. Thank you for the knowledge bomb my man 🤝
no wonder my vape pens had oils in the inside part of the mouth piece. Also, really good advice here that got me thinking about the whole minute waiting for the chamber to fill up. would be useful to have a machine that "inhales" the dab for you for a whole minute straight at a good pace and all you have to do is inhale the filled chamber. idk how but somehow commenting this idea might get a stoner engineer to do it. I've seen gravity bongs and how the slower you pull the bigger and better the hit so a dab gravity bong sounds good but a machine doing the job instead is better.

Well said. I'm glad you mentioned cold starts at the end that's what I'd recommend to anyone new. Also for cleaning the banger I've been using DC dark crystal cleaner after each dab for a few years.
Yo! Great and informative stuff man! Nice! I just started Dabbing and yo it's awesome and of course I'm still learning. It's a great experience and it last longer. Need to see your how to clean the rig, etc.
Cold start dabs are the way to go. Load your dab into the banger while its cold then heat the bottom and watch how the concentrate melts when its a fully melted puddle then you're good to stop heating and start hitting, the less heat you apply the more terpenes you are going to get, to a degree, obviously too cold wont produce any vapour but as you keep using the method you will get a feel for the sweet spot, you just gotta watch how the concentrates melt and at what point it starts bubbling to produce vapour you also have to keep into account the heat retention of the banger and whatever insert or terp pearls you have remember you can always add heat but you cant take it away. Besides this the best way to improve performance like anything is to buy more stuff, like a silicon carbide, shinju, opal, borosilicate or quartz terp pearls (all will make a huge difference but the ceramic materials will have much better thermal performance) also a good spinner bubble carb cap goes a long way if you can find one that actually spins the pearl. Then we have inserts these also offer a great improvement to performance. Each material has different heat retention, durability and thermal conductivity, such as silicon carbide, aluminum nitride, ruby, or sapphire (ordered cheapest to most expensive but silicon carbide is still really good despite the great price). Be aware ruby and sapphire are gonna cost a lot more for obvious reasons but they are made synthetically so they are still a lot cheaper than real ruby or sapphire, despite the higher price they actually have worse thermal conductivity than silicon carbide or aluminum nitride but are very durable and insanely easy to keep clean. Overall aluminum nitride has the best thermal conductivity and is still easy to clean so I would suggest that IF you can find it as it can be hard to find an insert or even terp pearls made from it so for an easier option I would suggest get silicon carbide insert and terp pearls (some headshops may even have them depending on what they stock).
Spinner caps really helped me dial in my pull, as soon as the ball starts moving I’m pulling hard enough, it’s a good visual tool and helps spread ur wax :)
hash will always leave a residue in the nail.. even 6* will turn to ashes in the nail unless they press it into rosin. 6* needs to be dabbed even lower temp than other extracts and is the most delicate flavor to preserve
I have used a mini nail exclusively for dabbing 2 years now, and there is no way I could ever see myself using anything else, I think I’d quit first. I’ve had to train anyone who’s ever hit it, that it’s not a bong, draw it like you would a regular vape…good info, I love your channel

One more good tip in addition to what chewpins mentions is that if you do have a bit of burn on that won't come off with iso or boiling water in the banger, use a q-tip, iso and baking soda. Like just wet the q-tip and roll is in the soda. Scours, but doesn't scratch.
Been using a Huni Badger for a couple years now, made a stand for it and connect it to a glass juice-box bubbler.....i generally do a quick clean (cycle through about 1 or 2 min) on it every session.....and about once a week i put a few drops of alcohol on a pipe cleaner and a paper towel 15 minutes and have it clean as new every week or so.....to dab turn i coat a tiny coke spoon with oil turn it on.....wait 15 seconds and go to town.

honestly, if your glass is made of borosilicate like it should be, you shouldn't ever have any issues hitting it with a flame. that's literally the exact same glass they use to make labware intended to sit on top of bunsun burners all day. if your glass is breaking from heat exposure on a regular basis, you might want to consider going elsewhere to buy your glass.

Here's something you missed. The only time you should pull hard is when you have a carb cap completely sealing your nail. The whole reason carb caps work is because of the Ideal Gas Law. By creating a low pressure zone with the suction and the carb cap you are able to vaporize at lower temperatures. Like the boiling point in Denver is Lower cuz they are high up. So essential when you have a good full seal suck hard to get the lowest temperature vapor. The smoke won't really be moving into your lungs much with no airflow. As soon as you crack it stop sucking so hard but yeah there is a time and a place but this is a super advanced move. It can also let you hit it when it would otherwise be too cold to work.
If you know someone who really honks on your rig and doesn't understand try this. Get them to put a paper drinking straw in their mouth and draw on it hard enough to pick up a penny or a marble off a table but not hard enough to flatten the straw when they do. Then get them to dab like that. Works a treat (I had a mate who used to inhale the water out of bongs, couldn't help himself.)
Been smoking for 26 years now, and I always said that I would never buy dabs, because I didn’t want my tolerance to go up, and I’m also poor. I would only do them when somebody would hook me up with free ones. However, I just finally gave in. The local dispo had some live rosin for 50% off, so I couldn’t resist. I just bought my first rig, and am experimenting with it as I speak. I’m getting decent hits, but I’m gonna try hitting it real soft and slow, and see if it makes a difference. I usually have trouble taking advice from younger people, especially when it comes to drugs, but this can’t hurt to try. If it’s more effective, then thanks for the info
Dabs are just the best way to smoke. Its way better for your lungs as your not smoking something thats burning. Its also so much cheaper. Around me you can get some good live resin(i made it) for $8 a gram. Dont listen to everything over hyping rosin. It can be better but ive made the same material into both and both were basically the same, the resin tested slightly higher in every single number. Also electric rigs are so worth the price. No fire, takes 20 seconds to heat up and you dont have to worry about burning yourself with the torch. Eventually they save you so much from not buying butane that it pays for itself

I found this channel at the perfect time. Ive been smokin weed for almost 30 yrs, but i only smoked dabs at my one friends. Well i was given a Yocan magic stick and a G of 2 diff waxes and the thing hit fire for the 1st cpl days but now its really not. I admit, I'm a novice with the concentrates, but eager to learn. How frequently do i have to clean the collector? On this type of tip, how do u know when u can add more dab? How can u tell when the temps correct? Mine has 3 settings. I would ask my friend but hes not here anymore.
with a terp pen the easiest way to catch the vapor is to hit it into your container, let it cloud the container, inhale, stop, repeat until your lungs are full.
So I've been smoking daily for 23 years now and have been through the adventures of imitating others' methods and finding their shortcomings. Cleaning bongs is a pain in the ass, and makes even the ones that don't break unpleasant to own. (All glass bongs WILL break, the only variable is _when._ ) So the two methods for dabs and smoking I've come up with are both glass/stainless hybrids that are mostly disposable. (screw cleaning bong resin). For $8 you can get a Diamond Hole Saw Set on Amazon, and in about 35 seconds put a hole in a glass bottle for a stem. For my smoking I have a stainless steel (not aluminum it melts or glass it goes brittle) downstem and bowl (small flask funnel pressed to stainless tube). With a grommet on that where it enters the glass, I now have a bong that can just be tossed and renewed with another glass bottle, and the stem/bowl can be cleaned with a pair of pliers and a torch. I'll make a video on the "burn in on vs off" of that, cuz that's not been my experience at all. I turn it orange hot, tap it to let the ash fall out, and hit it with an air compressor blow gun. (cools it down quick) It looks brand new after that. I can go from nasty to brand new in about 2 minutes. None of this futzing with alcohol and salt to get to inner cavities of blown glass, or stupid plastic bottles. I'll usually put a dab of shatter atop my hit and then light it with the 2nd device. . . my vaping device heated up. Its similar, but the "bowl" is a stainless steel plumbing pipe end with quite a bit of heat-holding mass and a stainless tube threaded into it from the side that also goes to a glass bottle. So I used my heat gauge to determine that when the plug stops radiating light, (isn't orange anymore) its at about 550 degrees another 6-8 seconds after that, So that's where I'll usually turn in after both lighting the flower hit, and dropping drips into the plug to dab.
To add a tip I recently learned myself: If you hate harsh dab coughs (especially applicable to D8 distillate), inhale and fill your lungs halfway with air before taking your hit, and take a soft hit at that. You won't get the fat cloud or immediate TKO high, but you won't burst a blood vessel choking half to death either. That's why I like electronic dab straws, I can take a series of small consistent hits at my leisure with no faffing about. And since I'm getting high incrementally, I can land exactly where I want to be and not over/undershoot it.
Iso is your friend when it comes to keeping bangers/rigs clean and with just a little know how you can evap the iso to get your reclaim and make edibles.
People do realize that gently scraping the banger with a flat edge blade and a paper clip for the stem does remove almost all of the chaz, right? It shocks me how many people just trash a banger and move on to a new one, I had one for 20 bucks from amazon last me for 4 years and it still looks only slightly used, it's still usable to this day. and for reclaim cleaning, 99% iso wash and shake, if desired, let dry out on flat plate until all iso evaporates, and smoke! So many techniques are beyond hilarious, expensive cleaners, heat cleaning, dumping the banger at first sight of chaz, cleaning the entire bong (not counting a banger swab) after EVERY session, the list goes on lol. Just basic maintenance every so often is key.
I would agree totally with the hole weakening your glass by heating it to get reclaim out. However, the hole torching the residue and (burning it on) idk about all that. It just really dosen't make sense when your are heating something to 1000 degrees! Repeatedly heating a piece of quarts like I said to 1000 degrees roughly is probably going to have some kind of effect over time. Hence the reason the quartz starts to become a lil cloudy in spots that have been heated again and again and again and again. And I'm NOT saying I'm dabbing at 1000 degrees either. But I do heat my bucket to red and then let it cool to between 5 and 6 hundred degrees before dabbing off. The bucket I currently have is well over a year old. And the very top around the rim is kind of cloudy looking and obviously the bottom aswell. But for the most part it's VERY clean. And yes I do wipe it out and clean it with alcohol after every single hit. However, (occasionally) you will get a lil bit of residue from either dabbing at too high of a temp. Or it could even just be that the wax is NOT the cleanest in the world. Either way trying to get that off with a Q-tip and alcohol is pretty much impossible. And the next time you reheat the banger its going to (Automatically) start to burn the residue off. Soo, I'm not sure how you figure you are burning the residue (into) the quartz exactly! But repeatedly heating your glass to melt out reclaim is a GREAT way to winde up with a broken bong. However, if that happens and you still have the glass piece or pieces to fit back together (JB Weld) works wonders for fixing broken bongs. I'm not saying you are for sure wrong! I'm just saying the logic is not plainly visible. Well, atleast not to me anyhow lol. Although, I'm not claiming not have I ever claimed to know everything by any means lol ✌️✌️✌️

You ever done cold starts with a gemstone insert? Waaaay better than quartz cold starts cause it actually stays hot (400-500 degrees) and you don't have to reheat every few seconds.

Kind of new to dabbing. I have used a regular grass straw for the past 3 or 4 years. It recently broke and replaced it with a ceramic glass straw (the guy at the store said it was better and i know nothing). I cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong. The guy at the store said it handles heat better but no matter how long i torch it, it doesn't seem to get hot enough to get a decent hit.
Nectar collectors are trash, you’re never going to take a good dab. It just gets the job done. Get a cheap bong and buy a banger, I promise you you’ll have a way better experience. I just started dabbing this year and it took me less than a week to get down the temps/cleaning.
3:43 The microcracks look similar to thin strands of hair. I used to have a pipe with a hairline fracture in it. I thought it was completely normal and just an artifact of the glassmaking, but the piece ultimately ended up breaking while I was using it. It cut my finger opening since the force of my hand sent sharp part straight into my other hand. (Could have been a lot worse, healed just fine in a few weeks.)

Just get a quartz insert with mini pearls a flat bottom banger and a bubble cap… heat for 45 seconds, drop the insert in and it’s perfection every time.
Bro I've been dabbing for years and have always used a torch to clean my nail (rare). Never broke anything never damage nothing, bangers never turned cloudy. It definately does not "burn it in" because the quartz gets so hot that the carbon build up can't adhere anymore and literally vaporizes off the glass.
I started dabbing about a year ago from nothing ; my first ever dab was done by myself and I learned by watching video. Even then, it still bug me that most people I know who have been taking dabs for years don’t even know how to properly do it. They take them red hot and comment on how good they are ^^’ no wonder many smoker I know don’t like dabs ; they probably were initiated by a red hot one of extracts of a questionable quality and were too scared to try again

Well said. I'm glad you mentioned cold starts at the end that's what I'd recommend to anyone new. Also for cleaning the banger I've been using DC dark crystal cleaner after each dab for a few years.

Yo! Great and informative stuff man! Nice! I just started Dabbing and yo it's awesome and of course I'm still learning. It's a great experience and it last longer. Need to see your how to clean the rig, etc.
Cold start dabs are the way to go. Load your dab into the banger while its cold then heat the bottom and watch how the concentrate melts when its a fully melted puddle then you're good to stop heating and start hitting, the less heat you apply the more terpenes you are going to get, to a degree, obviously too cold wont produce any vapour but as you keep using the method you will get a feel for the sweet spot, you just gotta watch how the concentrates melt and at what point it starts bubbling to produce vapour you also have to keep into account the heat retention of the banger and whatever insert or terp pearls you have remember you can always add heat but you cant take it away. Besides this the best way to improve performance like anything is to buy more stuff, like a silicon carbide, shinju, opal, borosilicate or quartz terp pearls (all will make a huge difference but the ceramic materials will have much better thermal performance) also a good spinner bubble carb cap goes a long way if you can find one that actually spins the pearl. Then we have inserts these also offer a great improvement to performance. Each material has different heat retention, durability and thermal conductivity, such as silicon carbide, aluminum nitride, ruby, or sapphire (ordered cheapest to most expensive but silicon carbide is still really good despite the great price). Be aware ruby and sapphire are gonna cost a lot more for obvious reasons but they are made synthetically so they are still a lot cheaper than real ruby or sapphire, despite the higher price they actually have worse thermal conductivity than silicon carbide or aluminum nitride but are very durable and insanely easy to keep clean. Overall aluminum nitride has the best thermal conductivity and is still easy to clean so I would suggest that IF you can find it as it can be hard to find an insert or even terp pearls made from it so for an easier option I would suggest get silicon carbide insert and terp pearls (some headshops may even have them depending on what they stock).

Spinner caps really helped me dial in my pull, as soon as the ball starts moving I’m pulling hard enough, it’s a good visual tool and helps spread ur wax :)
hash will always leave a residue in the nail.. even 6* will turn to ashes in the nail unless they press it into rosin. 6* needs to be dabbed even lower temp than other extracts and is the most delicate flavor to preserve

I have used a mini nail exclusively for dabbing 2 years now, and there is no way I could ever see myself using anything else, I think I’d quit first. I’ve had to train anyone who’s ever hit it, that it’s not a bong, draw it like you would a regular vape…good info, I love your channel

to clean dab stuff i use my torch but i dont torch everything off. I do a mini cold start, just get everything melty, then use a q-tip or paper towel
after watching more i must clarify, i dont do this with glass. Just my tools and nail.

One more good tip in addition to what chewpins mentions is that if you do have a bit of burn on that won't come off with iso or boiling water in the banger, use a q-tip, iso and baking soda. Like just wet the q-tip and roll is in the soda. Scours, but doesn't scratch.

Been using a Huni Badger for a couple years now, made a stand for it and connect it to a glass juice-box bubbler.....i generally do a quick clean (cycle through about 1 or 2 min) on it every session.....and about once a week i put a few drops of alcohol on a pipe cleaner and a paper towel 15 minutes and have it clean as new every week or so.....to dab turn i coat a tiny coke spoon with oil turn it on.....wait 15 seconds and go to town.

honestly, if your glass is made of borosilicate like it should be, you shouldn't ever have any issues hitting it with a flame. that's literally the exact same glass they use to make labware intended to sit on top of bunsun burners all day. if your glass is breaking from heat exposure on a regular basis, you might want to consider going elsewhere to buy your glass.

Here's something you missed. The only time you should pull hard is when you have a carb cap completely sealing your nail. The whole reason carb caps work is because of the Ideal Gas Law. By creating a low pressure zone with the suction and the carb cap you are able to vaporize at lower temperatures. Like the boiling point in Denver is Lower cuz they are high up. So essential when you have a good full seal suck hard to get the lowest temperature vapor. The smoke won't really be moving into your lungs much with no airflow. As soon as you crack it stop sucking so hard but yeah there is a time and a place but this is a super advanced move. It can also let you hit it when it would otherwise be too cold to work.
If you know someone who really honks on your rig and doesn't understand try this. Get them to put a paper drinking straw in their mouth and draw on it hard enough to pick up a penny or a marble off a table but not hard enough to flatten the straw when they do. Then get them to dab like that. Works a treat (I had a mate who used to inhale the water out of bongs, couldn't help himself.)
Been smoking for 26 years now, and I always said that I would never buy dabs, because I didn’t want my tolerance to go up, and I’m also poor. I would only do them when somebody would hook me up with free ones. However, I just finally gave in. The local dispo had some live rosin for 50% off, so I couldn’t resist. I just bought my first rig, and am experimenting with it as I speak. I’m getting decent hits, but I’m gonna try hitting it real soft and slow, and see if it makes a difference. I usually have trouble taking advice from younger people, especially when it comes to drugs, but this can’t hurt to try. If it’s more effective, then thanks for the info
Dabs are just the best way to smoke. Its way better for your lungs as your not smoking something thats burning. Its also so much cheaper. Around me you can get some good live resin(i made it) for $8 a gram. Dont listen to everything over hyping rosin. It can be better but ive made the same material into both and both were basically the same, the resin tested slightly higher in every single number.
Also electric rigs are so worth the price. No fire, takes 20 seconds to heat up and you dont have to worry about burning yourself with the torch. Eventually they save you so much from not buying butane that it pays for itself
@ $8 a gram would be incredible. You don’t even wanna know what I have to pay. I’ve bought a bunch of different extracts since this post, and while I enjoyed them all, I liked the rosin the most. The crumble I had was really awesome though, too. Best tasting cannabis product I ever smoked/vaped.

I found this channel at the perfect time. Ive been smokin weed for almost 30 yrs, but i only smoked dabs at my one friends. Well i was given a Yocan magic stick and a G of 2 diff waxes and the thing hit fire for the 1st cpl days but now its really not. I admit, I'm a novice with the concentrates, but eager to learn. How frequently do i have to clean the collector? On this type of tip, how do u know when u can add more dab? How can u tell when the temps correct? Mine has 3 settings. I would ask my friend but hes not here anymore.
with a terp pen the easiest way to catch the vapor is to hit it into your container, let it cloud the container, inhale, stop, repeat until your lungs are full.
So I've been smoking daily for 23 years now and have been through the adventures of imitating others' methods and finding their shortcomings. Cleaning bongs is a pain in the ass, and makes even the ones that don't break unpleasant to own. (All glass bongs WILL break, the only variable is _when._ ) So the two methods for dabs and smoking I've come up with are both glass/stainless hybrids that are mostly disposable. (screw cleaning bong resin). For $8 you can get a Diamond Hole Saw Set on Amazon, and in about 35 seconds put a hole in a glass bottle for a stem. For my smoking I have a stainless steel (not aluminum it melts or glass it goes brittle) downstem and bowl (small flask funnel pressed to stainless tube). With a grommet on that where it enters the glass, I now have a bong that can just be tossed and renewed with another glass bottle, and the stem/bowl can be cleaned with a pair of pliers and a torch. I'll make a video on the "burn in on vs off" of that, cuz that's not been my experience at all. I turn it orange hot, tap it to let the ash fall out, and hit it with an air compressor blow gun. (cools it down quick) It looks brand new after that. I can go from nasty to brand new in about 2 minutes. None of this futzing with alcohol and salt to get to inner cavities of blown glass, or stupid plastic bottles. I'll usually put a dab of shatter atop my hit and then light it with the 2nd device. . . my vaping device heated up. Its similar, but the "bowl" is a stainless steel plumbing pipe end with quite a bit of heat-holding mass and a stainless tube threaded into it from the side that also goes to a glass bottle. So I used my heat gauge to determine that when the plug stops radiating light, (isn't orange anymore) its at about 550 degrees another 6-8 seconds after that, So that's where I'll usually turn in after both lighting the flower hit, and dropping drips into the plug to dab.

To add a tip I recently learned myself: If you hate harsh dab coughs (especially applicable to D8 distillate), inhale and fill your lungs halfway with air before taking your hit, and take a soft hit at that. You won't get the fat cloud or immediate TKO high, but you won't burst a blood vessel choking half to death either. That's why I like electronic dab straws, I can take a series of small consistent hits at my leisure with no faffing about. And since I'm getting high incrementally, I can land exactly where I want to be and not over/undershoot it.

Iso is your friend when it comes to keeping bangers/rigs clean and with just a little know how you can evap the iso to get your reclaim and make edibles.
People do realize that gently scraping the banger with a flat edge blade and a paper clip for the stem does remove almost all of the chaz, right? It shocks me how many people just trash a banger and move on to a new one, I had one for 20 bucks from amazon last me for 4 years and it still looks only slightly used, it's still usable to this day. and for reclaim cleaning, 99% iso wash and shake, if desired, let dry out on flat plate until all iso evaporates, and smoke! So many techniques are beyond hilarious, expensive cleaners, heat cleaning, dumping the banger at first sight of chaz, cleaning the entire bong (not counting a banger swab) after EVERY session, the list goes on lol. Just basic maintenance every so often is key.
Use acetone to clean your rig’s; it works instantly and glass is clean as new. It evaporates in seconds
I would agree totally with the hole weakening your glass by heating it to get reclaim out. However, the hole torching the residue and (burning it on) idk about all that. It just really dosen't make sense when your are heating something to 1000 degrees! Repeatedly heating a piece of quarts like I said to 1000 degrees roughly is probably going to have some kind of effect over time. Hence the reason the quartz starts to become a lil cloudy in spots that have been heated again and again and again and again. And I'm NOT saying I'm dabbing at 1000 degrees either. But I do heat my bucket to red and then let it cool to between 5 and 6 hundred degrees before dabbing off. The bucket I currently have is well over a year old. And the very top around the rim is kind of cloudy looking and obviously the bottom aswell. But for the most part it's VERY clean. And yes I do wipe it out and clean it with alcohol after every single hit. However, (occasionally) you will get a lil bit of residue from either dabbing at too high of a temp. Or it could even just be that the wax is NOT the cleanest in the world. Either way trying to get that off with a Q-tip and alcohol is pretty much impossible. And the next time you reheat the banger its going to (Automatically) start to burn the residue off. Soo, I'm not sure how you figure you are burning the residue (into) the quartz exactly! But repeatedly heating your glass to melt out reclaim is a GREAT way to winde up with a broken bong. However, if that happens and you still have the glass piece or pieces to fit back together (JB Weld) works wonders for fixing broken bongs. I'm not saying you are for sure wrong! I'm just saying the logic is not plainly visible. Well, atleast not to me anyhow lol. Although, I'm not claiming not have I ever claimed to know everything by any means lol ✌️✌️✌️

the white, is a molecular change based off heat and impurities, Same as a kiln, heat can clean when not too hot.

Cold starts, heat for 3-5 seconds to melt it. Then about 5 more seconds till it bubbles. Then it's ready to hit. Clean right after.

You ever done cold starts with a gemstone insert? Waaaay better than quartz cold starts cause it actually stays hot (400-500 degrees) and you don't have to reheat every few seconds.

Kind of new to dabbing. I have used a regular grass straw for the past 3 or 4 years. It recently broke and replaced it with a ceramic glass straw (the guy at the store said it was better and i know nothing). I cant seem to figure out what im doing wrong. The guy at the store said it handles heat better but no matter how long i torch it, it doesn't seem to get hot enough to get a decent hit.
Nectar collectors are trash, you’re never going to take a good dab. It just gets the job done. Get a cheap bong and buy a banger, I promise you you’ll have a way better experience. I just started dabbing this year and it took me less than a week to get down the temps/cleaning.

I used to have a pipe with a hairline fracture in it. I thought it was completely normal and just an artifact of the glassmaking, but the piece ultimately ended up breaking while I was using it. It cut my finger opening since the force of my hand sent sharp part straight into my other hand. (Could have been a lot worse, healed just fine in a few weeks.)

Bro I've been dabbing for years and have always used a torch to clean my nail (rare). Never broke anything never damage nothing, bangers never turned cloudy. It definately does not "burn it in" because the quartz gets so hot that the carbon build up can't adhere anymore and literally vaporizes off the glass.

I started dabbing about a year ago from nothing ; my first ever dab was done by myself and I learned by watching video. Even then, it still bug me that most people I know who have been taking dabs for years don’t even know how to properly do it. They take them red hot and comment on how good they are ^^’ no wonder many smoker I know don’t like dabs ; they probably were initiated by a red hot one of extracts of a questionable quality and were too scared to try again
