I looked for that 1 gram dab on your Instagram but I guess it never got posted. I would love to see it because I want to see how you go about your low temp dabs. I started off like everyone else, obnoxiously hot nail, burnt ass vapor. Eventually I got better at it, learned to let them cool properly and got great hits. Then I learned about low temp dabs and gave it a shot. At first it worked out great, but then I found myself burning them more often than the traditional way. Sometimes I’d see the vapor start but it wasn’t quite hot enough, and other times I’d not see any vapor yet, but I know it’s been heated too long, I go ahead and hit it and it’s pretty much burnt. The whole hit gets inhaled within a second and there’s nothing left, and my throat is on fire. It may be different with different concentrates but l also wonder if maybe my blazer torch is overkill for a low temp dab. Any tips or suggestions?

Dude you are usually spot on and agree. I use dark crystal cleaner and then 99% iso which dissipates in seconds. I'm 68 and been smoking since 1968. Budtender ran dab bars, extract mfg and expert since 2005. Even though smoked alcohol based hash in 1969.

Cold start low temp dabs are the only way I’m dabbing from here on out. Kept the water near by and damn smoked a full gram of rosin 😎. Love the channel and all the advice/information 💯
I will say I almost entirely agree but nothing hits like a perfect temp dab. Also, some consistencies make it difficult to cold start. (puffco hot knife helps with that)
When I quit drinking I started out doing 200mg every day. By day 60 it was taking me 800mg to feel anything. I took a 1000mg dose, woke up the next day, and had a heart to heart discussion with myself. I now use the drinks 1-3 times a week lol. If it was cheaper I'd probably be doing 1,500mg a day right now.

Hot starts are harder to get good at, but it’s really worth it for larger hits. With a good medium hit, you can get the whole thing in one really long inhale, and it feels awesome. Cold starting is definitely easier to start with, though.
I'm ready for a great sesh. I have some fresh live rosin bubble hash, live resin crushed diamonds, and live resin sugar. I also have a halfway decent cart, for being distillate with live terps. I don't mind sharing, as long as the other person reciprocates. I used to have a next door neighbor always taking advantage of my kindness. When I first started using cannabis. She would put on a big act about having depression or anxiety and really needed something to help her. Then miraculously she'd be perfectly fine as soon as she took one dab! She didn't return the favor as much and typically didn't have great stuff.
I’ve been using extractions since I got here to Denver and I love it. I don’t like how messy it can be and the barrier to entry can be expensive. Picked up 4grams for 60 of some good stuff from a shop by the ballpark for 710. Cheers
I’ve been dabbling before it was even a thing, from what I remember back in 2008-2009 a guy in Vancouver bc named the budder king came out with it, it was budder and must of had a decent amount of butane back then, I remember everyone thinking I was talking about canna butter when I was like no you smoke it with this torch and it gets you to space
Cold Starts inevitably cook off and burn terps and cannabinoids, especially if you're using a cheap banger. That little wisp of vapor that comes off it as it melts, that first little cloud? that's mostly your terpenes that vaporize at lower temps. By the time it's hot you've sizzled off a not insignificant amount of flavor and even active cannabinoids. Taking a dab from heated (low temp of course) is the absolute best way toget the most out of your concentrates based on the pure principle of how vaporization/heating concentrates works. It's more effective for it to be quickly turned to vapor than gradually especially since you're not hitting it as you heat it up from cold.
One thing to add don’t use a stainless nail on a glass rig if the water is close to the the nail the nail will heat up an if u tilt ur rig the wrong way the heat off the nail will break the rig or at least crack it
Ever dab with an insert? Essentially a quartz banger you heat up and have the concentrate in a different second bucket you put in afterwards. Game changer!
dude. get an enail, put it on top of a hookah, set it to 450f and you can puff on a full gram for like 10 minutes before you need to replace it. if your pid controller goes to 1200f it's self cleaning (it'll need it every 3 or 4 grams), and then you can use qtips for between-dab nail hygiene. had that setup for years and i use it like a workhorse. keeping the nail far away because of the hose means no more burns, and it's a lot easier to pass around.
maybe I'm biased but I don't find dabs out of a bong that was recently used for flower to be that bad, I guess it really depends on the piece but whenever I use my bong for a dab its always super tasty

I like cold starts from time to time, but honestly I’ve been using my finger to temp a banger for almost 3 years now, I’m pretty good at telling when it’s 500 degrees.
I just use an ariovape quartz tip nectar collector. Then barely touch it in the Oleum nectar ONCE. I drag real slowly and get a perfect high. It's simple and quick for me. Just started last year and I still have the same concentrates from then 😅
if you're at the sesh and didn't bring any cooncentrate, me n the homies always have the rule that the jar owner scoops the dab, and iso dunking your nails helps w keeping them sparkly and new

Im glad you brought up holding in your hits, i along with many of my friends used to do that thinking it was doing something but it doesnt. If anything it just damages brain cells which may result in feeling higher. I think where it derives from is using mouth breathing techniques to push the hit deeper into the lungs when you've already maxed out on pulling in air normally. It definitely gets me a little bit higher but i feel it can be dangerous, not too sure though. Moral of the story just smoke normal and stop trying to murder yourself with big hits🤣
Unless you're holding your hit until you pass out or start to need more oxygen you're not causing brain damage anymore than inhaling foreign materials would've done had you not held it. More contact time inside your lungs will undeniably catch more of the active compounds, increasing the effect. It's totally unnecessary to go more than a few seconds though. It's not the brain I'd be worried about, it's the lungs. Not because of holding my breath though, because of holding vaporized or burned substances in with it. Deep breathing exercises and holding your breath for extended periods of time is exactly how you train to increase lung capacity and can help the efficiency of your lungs.
My first time ever doing a dab was amazing. Sucks I greened out 😂. I put the nail on top of the wax instead of the side and took a huge hit. Think I was coughing for 15 minutes.
First time I dabbed was on a camping trip. I was already crossed, my friend hands me the rig and I take a hit then grabbed the nail like I was taking a bong rip! I use a dtv5 for my dabs now lol.

What do you think about vaporization pens for hitting concentrates? I use a seahorse pro plus and it doesn’t use much concentrate at all. 1g of concentrate can last me a week or two and I’m a everyday smoker. That thing hits pretty hard too similar to hitting a dab rig
The pens heat too quickly. Think about if a quartz banger heated up as fast as a pen. The elements and other internals of the pens aren't meant for back to back pulls or long hits
I think the end of my torch is brass or copper, which cools down so fast you don’t even gotta worry. I could touch the end 3 seconds after a dab and it won’t even be hot.
As someone who's had to temporarily switch back to a cheapo $20 16mm banger after I broke my DCS banger, it's impossible to do low temp dabs on those cheaper/smaller ones. I cannot wait for mt Toro to show up.

Why are you against torching off? I use a propane torch that does the trick way faster than a butane torche, even for my super thick quartz banger/pearls
Not trying to sound like that guy and always respect most of your takes, but i don’t care ab it tasting 100% perfect. taking medium temp rips decently quick like 15/20 seconds usually gives me a nice taste and gets me high asf with no waste.

I've been dabbing for years and here's my setup: an electronic titanium enail hooked up to a small silicon water piece. I heat it up to 600°F (I find the temp to be hot enough but not too hot) and do a small dab on the nail inhaling as long as I can then capping the nail, exhale, then pull the rest of the vapor out in another hit or two. I usually do 2-3 dabs at a time, sometimes 4 if I want a little extra kick. I also swab the nail top after each dab with a dry Qtip. Am I able to do cold start dabs off my rig?
@@Abbot3663 now that I experimented for titanium eNails it just heats too slow to do a cold start but with the digital thermometer/heat setting it's easy to fine tune to the perfect temp just after a few dabs and experimentation.

Cold-start, small dabs, I use a paper towel. Ran out qtips once, never looked back. I dump, and rinse my rigs/bongs daily.

I think the end of my torch is brass or copper, which cools down so fast you don’t even gotta worry. I could touch the end 3 seconds after a dab and it won’t even be hot.

As someone who's had to temporarily switch back to a cheapo $20 16mm banger after I broke my DCS banger, it's impossible to do low temp dabs on those cheaper/smaller ones. I cannot wait for mt Toro to show up.

Why are you against torching off? I use a propane torch that does the trick way faster than a butane torche, even for my super thick quartz banger/pearls

I've been dabbing for years and here's my setup: an electronic titanium enail hooked up to a small silicon water piece. I heat it up to 600°F (I find the temp to be hot enough but not too hot) and do a small dab on the nail inhaling as long as I can then capping the nail, exhale, then pull the rest of the vapor out in another hit or two. I usually do 2-3 dabs at a time, sometimes 4 if I want a little extra kick. I also swab the nail top after each dab with a dry Qtip.
Am I able to do cold start dabs off my rig?

@@Abbot3663 now that I experimented for titanium eNails it just heats too slow to do a cold start but with the digital thermometer/heat setting it's easy to fine tune to the perfect temp just after a few dabs and experimentation.

One day i was video chatting my friend while he was doing a dab and i was smoking a bong. We took our hit at the same time.
