My biggest one is when I think on past mistakes and spiral. I remember the quote that "I did what I thought was best at the time. Now that I know better, I chose better."
My favourite mindset shift is realising that I would do the same as others if I was in their situation. For example if I someone cut me up in traffic I just think they're probably late for work. Or I see someone taking drugs I think if I was living their life with the same childhood, parents, experiences etc I would do the same. Makes you a more compassionate person 💚
I had a coach in high school say out loud as we drove by a homeless person..." There, but for the Grace of God, go I." It has stayed with me for over 40 years. Thank you for the reminder.
Mine's kind of similar. When I see someone doing something bad/behaving questionably, I ask myself "What drove them to do it or behave this way?" Not that I'm making excuses for the person, but understanding their actions helps humanize instead of demonizing them. "In spite of everything I still believe that people are really good at heart." -Anne Frank
@@PickUpLimesabsolutely love it wish more people were like this or shared the same point of view, an example of what it is to be a great human being well said 👏 👍 ❤
I agree with this concept, but my wife died just over two years ago. In reality, I look around my house and I'm safe, secure, and well-fed. But emotionally, I'm still profoundly impacted. So I can bring myself to reality at times and be content, but if I don't take the time to suffer, then I'm denying myself the love that is contained in the memories. At the same time, I don't want to continue to suffer. It's a tough balance to find that changes from day to day.
@@tukahamadah8547 Sure, Well if you look at nature plants are growing insects, animals so many things are working and building bit by bit everyday but without unnecessary rush or stress they focus one day at a time but in no time plant would grow into a huge tree and everything is accomplished. So no need to rush stress do your part every day bit by bit day by day you will look back and see how far you have come how much you have accomplished Hope this helps
A little tip for body acceptance. When I am tempted to find my body not enough this and too much that, I think about all the amazing things that my body does: my heart beats, my lungs absorb the clean air and reject the not-so-clean air, I can hear, see, smell, touch, feel my environment, I can sit and walk, my immune system gets rid of germs and viruses (the list goes on and on). It immediately puts me in a gratitude mindset instead of a judgmental one. Really, what is a pimple on your nose when your nose can smell the rose and the earl grey tea and the skin of a loved one!
Love it! In the same vein what helped me accept certain body parts was saying, “Okay, then whose nose/arms/whatever would you trade your own in for NOW” and I realised it wasn’t really what I wanted after all because I am uniquely myself and I am a whole all on my own!
Hi Sadia! I just wanted to let you know that this might be my favorite video format. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore the recipes, but there's just something about these lifestyle videos (also the little personal vlogs) that I love love love. Probably has to do with your amazing and soothing personality!☺
Aw thank you! I know it's been a while since I've done one of these - I hope to keep at it alongside the recipe videos 🥰 thanks for letting me know it's a format that's appreciated 🫶
@@PickUpLimesYes, Sadia, I agree with this too! I've missed this lifestyle videos SO much! Especially tea time Tuesdays and Minimalism videos that originally got me hooked to you! Sending love ❤
@@PickUpLimes Your clarity of thoughts is incredible. You are so kind and sensitive. I admire the work that you have put in to be what you are so much. Thank you for being you. One thought that has helped me a lot is “we are complex and fallible human beings”. I use this when I label myself. So for example If I am not able to remember a particular speech (or anything) instead of saying I am so forgetful I may say, “I am not able to remember the speech that I have to deliver tomorrow, but that doesn’t mean I am forgetful because I am a complex and fallible human being. It just means that I lack the skill to memorise a speech in less time, so my job is to work on those skills.”
@@PickUpLimes I agree with @somehowidk6954 and to the list I would like to add the minimalism videos and tea time tuesday that you did in the past. You're way of talking and explaining has a calming and soothing effect that i love. ❤
Regret is your mind being in the past, anxiety is your mind being in the future. When you ground yourself through meditation, yoga or even just breathing deep and paying attention to what's around you, you can't feel either of those emotions. And living in the present is so much more fulfilling and enjoyable than spending your limited days thinking about missed opportunities or being worried about what's to come.
'and just like the moon, you shall go through phases of light and dark and everything in between. and though you may not always appear with the same brightness, you are always, always whole.' ☯
1. Aim for small wins - doing yoga three days a week instead of five days a week, but doing it consistently three days a week is a win 2. Consistency over intensity - same as above. Invest small amounts of money but do it consistently and you will see good growth versus waiting to invest a huge amount which may or may not come. 3. Respect boundaries and set boundaries - dont meddle in others personal affairs and don't get others too involved in yours. Some things should remain personal because overfamiliarity can breed contempt. 4. Experience is a better teacher than any theory you may ever learn - so make mistakes and learn from them. It is the only long term teacher there is. 5. Take help wherever required - therapy is great for mental health and a trainer is great for physical health. Don't aim to do things alone because the value of professional help is very high. 6. Make it a point to appreciate yourself and others regularly. It is a great motivator and helps you get better and better and learn from others too. 7. Step outside home everyday - even if for five minutes. It is important to be exposed to open sky and ground on a daily basis. 8. Trust others based on actions and not words - people may say, especially on social media, how much they love you etc. But the daily interactions with them and how they treat you and how you treat them are what matter the most. 9. Forgive others regularly and forgive yourself regularly - sometimes people are dealing with things we have no idea about and they may take out some anger or frustration on you. Let it go. You may do the same too sometimes and unknowingly. Let it go too :). But, abuse is unacceptable so draw those boundaries. 10. Having no partner is better than having a bad one. But having a good partner is the best part of life so be one and search for one :). Not based on religion or country or xyz but based on equality, ability to question oneself and change and learn, and ability to be patient.
#9 reminds me of something my kid once said, when we got lost while biking through the forest: "If we don't know the way home, that means we're now on an adventure!". I try to incorporate that in life all the time now. I'm not lost, I'm on an adventure.
When my parents would get lost driving my mom would say "we took the romantic way home!". We all still say this, so basically my family is never lost, just a bunch of romantics wandering the highways. 😁
My dad always says: “any strength taken to an extreme becomes a weakness”. It’s so true that nothing is inherently good or bad, it’s the context and magnitude of it, which is why balance and moderation is so important! Best video of this kind yet, thank you so much!
Very true. Also because I think once you master a strength, the universe gives you a different chapter of your life where it will not work and you have to adapt and find another approach
One of my favorite quotes is: “In a world where you can be anything, be kind”. Not only to others, but also to yourself. Thank you for the wonderful advice Sadia! ❤
We moved right before 8th grade. My dad sat me down, and told me one thing. "No one here knows you or your past. You have a clean slate. Now show them who YOU want them to see and know." Since I was horribly bullied at the last school by everyone there, this was HUGE. I have remembered that advice every time I'm in a new situation or location.
@@Esther-ps3vx Me too! I had also Journaled all ten of the lessons (as well as some comments) on the same day when I watched this video. At this stage of my life where I've been going through a career change, the advice that Sadia gives in 'It's okay to change' section felt validating and comforting.
I’m 45yrs old and been a nurse since I was 28. I have made the decision to quit nursing and go back to school for a business degree and I am going to start my own TH-cam channel. It was never meant for me to work for other people, but to work for myself. I’m scared being older and starting over at my age, but I can do it I know I can. Thank you for this video I needed to hear everything you said
I was reading a book called, "What should I do with the rest of my life?" and I realized how ready I was for a change in a life where I had no contentment. I went to law school for the second time in my life in a different country and study in a different language at 48. Now, I have no regrets. Living this life is a marvelous opportunity to use our talents and be our best. I understand your fear, but doing one step at a time will get you through it. After all, a roadway of 1,000 steps starts with the first one. Kudos to you and great success!
The best advice I ever received was “you don’t get what you don’t ask for.” We can’t expect people to read our minds or always understand what we need or how to meet our expectations. We have to be able to communicate these things whether it’s to a partner, a manager, or even friends and family.
I tend to be anxious and a planner - esp. if I am anticipating a bad outcome and my best friend told me "Worrying about it is making yourself go through it twice - once in your mind and once in reality." This has often stopped me from going down a rabbit hole, and many times the outcome isn't even as bad as you imagined!
"Learn from the past, have faith in the future, and live in the present." Literally one of the best feel good channel for me, and that smile does all the wonders.🌻 Thank you so much Sadia and team, you guys are awesomeeeeee!!!✨
My favorite reminder to myself as I walk into work, “Please pay attention to the energy you bring into the room.” Allows me to be calm, intentional and kind to myself and others, take a breath and take responsibility for how I show up.
Current favourite quote..."life is seasonal". The bad in your life is temporary so keep going, the good in your life is also temporary so enjoy it while it lasts. 😊
Every time I feel anxious or overwhelmed about things I need to do - like having to do the laundry, having to get ready for work, having to make dinner, having to study - I change words and say “I get to do laundry; I get to go to work; I get to make dinner; I get to study now”. Such a small but powerful change in how I see my life and those “pressures” become blessings. Love the video ❤
We will do just about anything to avoid feeling pain. “Pain travels through families until someone is ready to feel it.” So many of the world’s problems stem from people running, hiding, avoiding, or distancing from uncomfortable feelings. How brave it is to sit with hard emotions. Acknowledge them, thank them and then in time, let them go.
Doing a little of something is better than nothing. One yoga position, meditate for a minute, brushing your teeth for 10 seconds fold one shirt write one line. It's often starting something that's the hardest breaking it down into something small and quick makes it easier to do. Amd you will probably end up doing it all and if not something better than nothing Made a massive difference for me
I saw an advert in a window once for a brand which said "You're you for a reason." That has resonated with me ever since, when I am excited, afraid, sad, happy, challenged or worried I think about that and it makes me smile and relax. I got this, I am me for a reason.
“You will have everything you’ve ever wanted in your life, just never all at the same time” “Our dreams and our goals often unfold in stages. And while we might wish that everything happens all at once, there is a beauty in each dream materializing in its own time.” ❤
Whenever I am in a conflict with someone, I would ask myself, "Would I rather be 'right' or would I rather be happy?" It saved many relationships in my life.
There's an Amy Grant song "Happy" and one of the lines is "It's better to be kind than right". That goes through my mind quite a bit. It will stop me from pursuing "being right" or convincing others that I'm right.
I’ve been following Sadhya for almost a decade now. Idk what’s it that magical ingredient you use that your videos beam generous positivity. "Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom." Viktor E. Frankl That quote was life-changing for me since I realized that my response doesn't have to be reactive and no response is also a response, etc. Thank you for this video! Best regards from a regular viewer in Ukraine!
I love these big sister Ted talks 😊❤❤ definitely needed this! One of the biggest mindset shifts I have learned is from being Catholic and letting all aspects of life be out of my control and giving full consent to give it God and letting go is so liberating by fully trusting God and being 8 months pregnant rn has really helped me focus on this mindset ❤
some of my favorite quotes: you can be anything, but you can't be everything. try for patience and consistency, instead of perfection. it will last way longer. the time will pass anyway. this quote really blows my mind every time i read it, because it's simple yet so true. whenever i feel unmotivated to do something because of how long it might take, i try reminding myself that time will pass whether i do it or not, so i might as well do it! lastly, mark twain's quote "i've suffered a great many catastrophes in my life. most of them never happened" really helps me with my anxiety about the future. and thank you for this beautiful video, very insightful and calming to watch, as always :)
My grandfather always said : 'Don't do things you enjoy, instead enjoy everything you do!' This helps me even when I'm doing house chores and things which seem to be a task, that can be enjoyed as well only if you choose to! And also makes me realize to slow down and be in the moment!
One of the helpful things I learned from a past therapist that has helped me change my inner talk is: don’t say to yourself what you wouldn’t say to a friend. When you’re saying something mean to yourself, stop and ask: would I say this to my friend? Would I tell my friend she’s fat, or lazy, or not good enough? Of course not! So I definitely shouldn’t be saying it to myself. Talk to yourself as you would talk to someone you love ❤
I read recently that" life responds not so much to the amount of effort you put in, but to the energy, mindset, and frequency you're operating on" being in very stressed moment of my business and it reminded me to slow down and trust!! I talk to myself in third person too! And since I've started journaling I started writing letters to myself updating/acknowloging about the past accomplisgments and being greatfull as I'm wrinting to my best friend! Thank you for sharing, Sadia!
"The darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn." - Paulo Coelho in "The Alchemist"; it is my all time favourite book and this quote helped me through many bad moments. Thank you for this very nice motivation video on a cosy sunday evening..🥰
I found your channel through bullet journaling, and ever since I've been a big fan. Your videos are filled with compassion and love and makes me feel safe in some way. Thanks for doing what you do. One way to always be grateful is to view our life as compared to those of less priviliged, and always seeking to love and understand people.
Such an awesome video! So many of these points resonated strongly with me. I love this quote by Rumi; 'Never give from the depths of your well..but from the overflow'.
11:31 being grateful for all the good things in life has helped me look at things in a different perspective. When I feel like I have achieved I look upto those who have achieved more and when I fail I look upto those who have failed more than me 😊
I think one of the best ideas I have come across recently goes like this: actively differentiate your thoughts from the act of thinking. You cannot control your thoughts, they will come to you anyway. Choosing to, or not to, dwell on a particular thought is a choice you make. Sometimes we forget that we have this 'choice', it's really empowering to realise this and reclaim that power :)
Your voice is so calming. Listening to you tends to help me relax and feel positive about what I can achieve. Favorite quote: Life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful
I once had a friend who was really worried about whether or not a professor thought she was smart enough and I said, "you know, he's probably just thinking about lunch" - and I try and tell myself that too when I get self-conscious:). Best life advice I had was the first time I went to summer camp when I was a young teen and I was so scared and my friend told me, "No one here knows who you are or what you are supposed to be like, so you can be anyone and they won't know the difference." It gave me the ability to be brave, try on new approaches and to take bigger risks in life.
My absolute favorite and that I remind myself of daily especially as a recovering perfectionist..."Clutter and mess show us that life is being lived." Anne Lamott
My biggest lesson, which I remind myself every time is "My final goal is my happiness". Not money, not success or pleasure of somebody else, our happiness is the final goal that we are usually too busy to remember.
Thank you SO much for these reminders ❤️ And thank you for all you do!! My favorite quote and admittedly I forget often is... "No one can make you feel inferior without your consent." Eleanor Roosevelt.
I actually learned this from Sadia, but it really stuck with me. Life is better when you create more than you consume. This literally defined to me so clearly those days where I feel anxious or depressed for "no reason" was usually a build up of consuming more than I am creating. It was the kind of mindset shift where the world becomes a different color. The video is called " a perfect imbalance", i recommend you watch it.
This video moved me in ways I didn't expect. The lessons shared, especially about shifting our mindset from "I can't" to "I can't yet," truly hit home. It’s a reminder that growth takes time, and that we should embrace change instead of fearing it. I also loved the insight on fear vs. excitement-what a powerful shift in perspective! But the most touching part for me was about being kind to ourselves. Why is it that we can be so gentle with others, yet so harsh on ourselves? Does anyone else struggle with this too? Thank you for such a heartwarming, thought-provoking video!
In the process of recovering from an injury I told a friend that I hadn‘t been ready for the task of working through it. He said: „Whenever you feel ready, the task is pointless.“ He was right about that. I grew so much, and although it was terribly hard, I wouldn‘t exchange that experience for anything.
I tend to be a perfectionist, so several years ago I started saying "practice makes progress" instead of "practice makes perfect" it's helped shift the mindset so that I didn't think I've failed. If the thing I am making (cooking, building, sewing etc...) will do the job I need it to, or tastes good, I don't beat myself up if it's not perfect anymore Another thing I learned, actually talking with my husband, was "define better" He was always going on about how he wanted life to be better, he wanted a better house, he wanted a better this, he wanted a better income... One day I got so sick of it and I looked at him and told him to "define better. Because right now we're living better than I have ever lived. With a better income, and a better house, and better food. Better is an unattainable goal. There's always something better than what you currently have, so if you feel like what you have is insufficient, then figure out what it is you want, and write it down. Define better, and then work towards it, because just wanting "better" means your never going to achieve your goals, because there's ALWAYS something "better"."
Recovering perfectionist here as well. Your post reminded me of a phrase I came up with that really helped me get through a huge project over the summer. I was tasked with staining our pergola. A very difficult task for me to do. I was discouraged by how many mistakes I was making but then I changed the story in my head, that it needed to be perfect. Instead I started saying, “I’m adding protection, not perfection.” I said this over and over. And now I’m done, the pergola is again protected from the sun (the mistakes are hardly noticeable when you’re not laser focused on them). It’s amazing how powerful words. Thank you for sharing!
One of my favorite quotes: "the same things that help us live a long healthy life are the things that make life worth living". Thank you so much for this video!
"Mood follows action" combined with Jordan Peterson's thought about how each individual is a tribe of who they were yesterday, who they are today and who they will become tomorrow. As an anxious, perfectionistic person who tends to freeze, overanalize, overplan everything and draining myself to the point of getting stuck, overwhelmed in my head before doing anything, this Rich Roll quote made a lasting shift in my mindset. When my masterplanner mind starts to spiral about how many things I must do, I translated Rich's quote as this: "What can I do for tomorrow's Kata (insert your name 😇) for her to feel just a little bit better?" And I take just one small action towards it to beat getting overwhelmed. I also highly recommend Brené Brown's Atlas of the Heart HBO series (or anything from her really) regarding point 9 in the video. She talks about how labeling our emotions defines our experience. Brené has been my companion for 7+ years, every podcast, interview, book is golden from her.
My recent mindset shift has been 'the time will pass anyway.' I was nervous about trying to become an accountant at 27, as the process takes 3ish years. I read 'that time will pass anyway' in a TikTok comment and decided to go for it. Hopefully, i follow through and qualify as an accountant.
Life is what you make out of it. There is no right or wrong. Make choices that resonate with your authentic self. Staying true to ourselves makes the whole experience more meaningful and it does act as an anchor🤍
When things seem hard or down I remember the words of a very wise lady I knew "You have to go through the darkness of the rain to get to the colours of the rainbow" 🤗
Wow the quote that your mom said that is something that is so true. You can do it and be it all but just in different times, different seasons (Paraphrased). This is something that applies in my life right now especially ❤ A quote that truly changed my life is, "The words you speak build the house you live in" by Rumi. It speaks on the importance of the words that leave our mouth because they truly shape our lives and words are incredibly powerful so it is important to be mindful of them.
I am a person who used to always apologize for everything, until someone told me 'only apologize when you truely mean it' and it changed everything for me. Now I am more mindful of what I am apologizing for and saying 'I'm sorry' is actually meaningful instead of something I always say.
"The sun will rise... and we will try again." It's got me through some of my darkest days because it's a reminder that every day is a new day to start fresh. Or to try a new thing. Learn, grow. And at the end of the day, regardless of your mistakes, the sun still rises and so will you.
The point on its okay to change means a lot to me. I was a vegetarian for 4 years, a period of my life that i absolutely loved, but my health wasn't great, im just a kid at the end of the day so my family who really didn't support it cuz of culture reasons didn't really provide for me to enjoy the lifestyle. I had to change back after a while mainly because i just wanted to be comfortable until i can be a vegetarian properly in the future. It was super hard to chage back, mainly because i was afraid of being mocked that i was just pretending or couldn't resist meat, but eventually i did, sure there was mocking but i did it because i knew it was best for me now and in the future i can change properly.
You didn't mention it in this video, but the mindset shift I use constantly was one you gave in a previous video a few years back that addressed dealing with impatience. You gave a metaphor of hiking the mountain only to be focused on getting to the summit and enjoying it for 30 seconds, instead of enjoying the hike. You asked, "How can I enjoy how long this is going to take?" At the time, I was feeling really impatient as I was working through my clinical hours to get licensed in my profession. That was a major mindset shift for me. I wrote that quote on a post-it note and put it on my wall, and I'd look at it whenever I felt impatient with how long I was taking to complete my hours. The post-in note is now faded from the sun, and here I am, 2-3 years later, about to get licensed, and you gave me the permission to enjoy my life and be present even if it took me a long time to get to my goal.
I'm learning English, and it's often difficult to find something good to watch, something that keeps your attention while learning, something that is pure and genuine. I was very happy to find this channel, I still don't hear English very well, I still need to improve my interpretation of English text. However, I was able to absorb the entire message that was conveyed in the video, I really liked the simplicity of its spontaneity. We see that there is love in what you do, you can convey all these positive feelings. I am very grateful for watching this video, thank you very much!
This concept that changed my life is greatly presented in the quote by Tim Keller:- “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”
"Be afraid, and do it anyway" has been one that I tell myself often and it definitely helps. And a general concept of giving myself "permission" for things I never thought I could do, or never thought others would "allow" me to do. Not sure why I have this embedded narrative that I need permission all the time. So allowing yourself to do what you want and giving yourself the green light is great. Just like "no one is coming to save you" I find it empowering actually, no one is coming to say it's okay you can proceed...so just go ahead if it feels right for you!
I think I started watching @pickuplimes in 2016 or 2017, I was approx 23 years old and still trying to figure out myself. I found you extremely inspiring, i started meditating and drinking green juices. My present personality is tremendously inspired by you and your content. Thank you for your videos. I had stopped watching you for some years, but today I find myself drawn to your content again and I know I am again on a journey of self-improvement. ❤
These are things that I've learned to apply in my life. Not all necessarily mindset related. 1. Take everything as a learning opportunity. 2. Learn everything as if you were to teach it or explain it to somebody else. This forces me reflect deeper on things, life experiences, school, etc. In general, training oneself in becoming a better teacher or mentor is more than worth it. 3. See the potential in people. I instinctively judge others by how I see them at that moment. But perception is instantaneous whereas people are not. 4. Think of reasons that would make me disagree with my own ideas. A bit extreme, but it helps me stress test my worldview and understand other's. 5. Imagine the person you diskile at a young age. Would you still dislike them?
Marilyn Monroe - "Sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together" my absolute favorite quote and I try to remember it whenever I feel overwhelmed
Dear Sadia, Thank you so much for this video.. I really wanted to hear those words from someone ❤ A quote that inspired me is "Someone who never made a mistake is a person who did nothing"
Oh thank you! 🥰 The same ones to be honest, haha I haven't had a lot of time in the last couple of weeks to delve deeper - so still "In the Name of the Wind" and "I May Be Wrong" 🤓. How about you?
@@PickUpLimesPlease share your lifetime book list, roughly in order of meaningful ("transformational") value. You're one of the humblest wisest people.
I’m 23 and recovering from disordered eating habits. I was vegan for 7 years until i realized that i couldn’t continue restricting my diet to only vegan foods if i wanted to heal my mind and body. I want to tell anyone on this journey that it’s okay to accept that you’ve done your part and it’s okay to give yourself permission to fully recover from an ED. I love you, thanks for reading!! You inspired me to share some wisdom of my own.
I struggle with rushing everywhere and all the time too. Any time I catch myself doing that, I always remind myself of the quote - 'Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast'. It immediately makes me mindful of my actions and thoughts in that moment. A good speed-breaker to an otherwise spiralling day!!
Oh that's beautiful! 🌳 Thank you for sharing 🥰 And with that said, when you become a bigger tree, one of my other favourite quotes is a Dutch idiom, which translates to "The tallest trees catch the strongest wind." As you grow and succeed, you’ll face more challenges-whether it's people or situations trying to knock you down. But as long as your roots are strong, you’ll be able to handle anything that comes your way! 💚
@@loveonlytee483 Another way of phrasing subodaful's quote may be "A little tree never grows in the shadow of a big tree". Interpretation depends on the reader. For me, it describes relations between people such as a child with an overbearing parent or two partners with a power imbalance. But I could see it applied in other situations where you need to find your own unique spot in the sun. For instance, rather than copying the format of an existing successful TH-cam channel, you find your own niche where you might flourish. Hope this helps 🌲
That you worrying about others hating/not liking/judging you, or talking about you behind your back, is not something they deserve. That you're actually judging them, through no fault of theirs, because of your own fears/insecurities. I saw someone post a video saying this (in a much more elegant way than i've written) and it kind of blew my mind because id never thought about it that way. Definitely triggred a mindset shift in me and has helped me immensely.
The quote that changed my life: Go Confidently in the direction of your dreams, live the life you imagined. It got me out of a unhealthy long term relationship and I use it often when I need a reminder that I can do anything!
For me having a growth mindset has been the most life changing idea. It has helped improve my skills and realize that we are so much capable than we initially thought we were.
"You will have everything you've ever wanted in your life, just never all at the same time." I remember yours mum quote from some older video of yours and it still often crosses my mind when I feel like my life is not completely what I want it to be in a given moment. I totally new it was going to be this one before you said it. Such powerful and wise words. Thanks for videos like this❣
I’d love to know: what's one quote or mindset shift that has made the biggest difference in your life? 👀
Take a step back and look at the bigger picture when feelimg overwhelm or out of control
“Everything happens for you, not to you”
Your are beautiful ❤🥰😊🙏
My biggest one is when I think on past mistakes and spiral. I remember the quote that "I did what I thought was best at the time. Now that I know better, I chose better."
The difference b/w being Afraid & Excited is just a mindset shift!!🌺
My favourite mindset shift is realising that I would do the same as others if I was in their situation. For example if I someone cut me up in traffic I just think they're probably late for work. Or I see someone taking drugs I think if I was living their life with the same childhood, parents, experiences etc I would do the same. Makes you a more compassionate person 💚
You're an incredible person, friend. This is beautiful, I hope this one gets upvoted so more people can read it 🙏
@@PickUpLimes That’s very kind 😊 I heard it first on Rangan Chatterjee’s podcast and think about it pretty much everyday.
@@PickUpLimesabsolutely love it wish more people were like this or shared the same point of view, an example of what it is to be a great human being well said 👏 👍 ❤
“We suffer more in imagination, than in reality” -- couldn’t agree more!!
exactly! when I worry too much or anticipate the worse ... finally I say to myself: my life is full of terrible things that never happened!
hit the nail on the head.
My fav quote
Nature doesn't hurry yet everything is accomplished
Love this one...thank you for sharing 😊
Ahhhh,,,, beauty in NATURE☀️🌿✨
Well said. Very relevant especially in today's hustle culture
Can you explain the meaning of it please?
@@tukahamadah8547 Sure, Well if you look at nature plants are growing insects, animals so many things are working and building bit by bit everyday but without unnecessary rush or stress they focus one day at a time but in no time plant would grow into a huge tree and everything is accomplished.
So no need to rush stress do your part every day bit by bit day by day you will look back and see how far you have come how much you have accomplished Hope this helps
My dad once wrote this for me: "You're not afraid because its hard. It's hard bc youre afraid." Still sticks w me to this day 🙌
A little tip for body acceptance.
That's beautiful, I love this. Thank you for sharing this gratitude perspective and mindset 🙏
Crying here ❤ that's so beautiful! Thanks for sharing ❤
💚
Wow ,it really grounded me more by reading this ❤❤

Agreed 100%
"Do something today that your future self will thank you for." It's been ablsolutely a life-changing quote for me🌟
Regret is your mind being in the past, anxiety is your mind being in the future. When you ground yourself through meditation, yoga or even just breathing deep and paying attention to what's around you, you can't feel either of those emotions. And living in the present is so much more fulfilling and enjoyable than spending your limited days thinking about missed opportunities or being worried about what's to come.
very well said

'and just like the moon, you shall go through phases of light and dark and everything in between. and though you may not always appear with the same brightness, you are always, always whole.' ☯
1. Aim for small wins - doing yoga three days a week instead of five days a week, but doing it consistently three days a week is a win
Very valuable!!

#9 reminds me of something my kid once said, when we got lost while biking through the forest: "If we don't know the way home, that means we're now on an adventure!". I try to incorporate that in life all the time now. I'm not lost, I'm on an adventure.
Love this!❤
When my parents would get lost driving my mom would say "we took the romantic way home!". We all still say this, so basically my family is never lost, just a bunch of romantics wandering the highways. 😁
I LOVE this! And will now incorporate it into my life (I get lost a lot / go on a lot of adventures! 😂)
Love this loads! What a great kid you have! Hare Krishna
My fav quote of all time is
“85% of what you worry about never happens.”🌿
The quote 'we cannot become what we want, by remaining what we are' has stuck with me for years now and has reminded me of the necessity of change.
Now show them who YOU want them to see and know."
Since I was horribly bullied at the last school by everyone there, this was HUGE. I have remembered that advice every time I'm in a new situation or location.
Oh my gosh, I love this! I'm about to move interstate and this guidance has come at the perfect time! Thank you 🙏🏼

You can do it dear.
Sending you the whole bunch of love and energy needed for your new beginning.
"Learn from the past, have faith in the future, and live in the present."

Amd you will probably end up doing it all and if not something better than nothing
Made a massive difference for me
I saw an advert in a window once for a brand which said "You're you for a reason." That has resonated with me ever since, when I am excited, afraid, sad, happy, challenged or worried I think about that and it makes me smile and relax. I got this, I am me for a reason.
Trust the timing of your life. What’s meant for you will never pass you by. Helps me calm myself a lot. As always, great video Sadia! ❤
That’s an Islamic quote
“You will have everything you’ve ever wanted in your life, just never all at the same time”
“Our dreams and our goals often unfold in stages.
And while we might wish that everything happens all at once, there is a beauty in each dream materializing in its own time.”

Whenever I am in a conflict with someone, I would ask myself, "Would I rather be 'right' or would I rather be happy?" It saved many relationships in my life.
Beautiful! Need to save this one :)
wow, that's wonderful and original. thank you :)
There's an Amy Grant song "Happy" and one of the lines is "It's better to be kind than right". That goes through my mind quite a bit. It will stop me from pursuing "being right" or convincing others that I'm right.
My favourite is a quote by Audrey Hepburn: 'nothing ins impossible, the word itself says I'm Possible!' Just love it!
I’ve been following Sadhya for almost a decade now. Idk what’s it that magical ingredient you use that your videos beam generous positivity. My grandfather always said : 'Don't do things you enjoy, instead enjoy everything you do!'
This helps me even when I'm doing house chores and things which seem to be a task, that can be enjoyed as well only if you choose to!
💚
I read recently that" life responds not so much to the amount of effort you put in, but to the energy, mindset, and frequency you're operating on" being in very stressed moment of my business and it reminded me to slow down and trust!!

Amen to that, friend, and thanks so much for the love and kindness. It means the world 🙏
Such an awesome video! So many of these points resonated strongly with me. I love this quote by Rumi; 'Never give from the depths of your well..but from the overflow'.
Oh that's so beautiful 🥹 I love Rumi but I've not yet heard of that one, Charlotte, thanks so much for taking the time to share 💕
Do you know any good books or podcasts about rumi?
Thank you! THANK YOU!
My two favourite quotes are “you don’t have a sole, you are a sole, you have a body” and “may your choices reflect your hopes not your fears”
“It’s ok not be ok, but it’s not ok to stay that way”. This has changed my life xxx

True!
"Pick the path that lights you up" ☀️
In the process of recovering from an injury I told a friend that I hadn‘t been ready for the task of working through it. He said: „Whenever you feel ready, the task is pointless.“ He was right about that. I grew so much, and although it was terribly hard, I wouldn‘t exchange that experience for anything.
Pick Up Limes has been around since I was a teen and now I’m 99 years old! She’s simply ageless her skin is always glowing!
I tend to be a perfectionist, so several years ago I started saying "practice makes progress" instead of "practice makes perfect" it's helped shift the mindset so that I didn't think I've failed. If the thing I am making (cooking, building, sewing etc...) will do the job I need it to, or tastes good, I don't beat myself up if it's not perfect anymore
Another thing I learned, actually talking with my husband, was "define better"
He was always going on about how he wanted life to be better, he wanted a better house, he wanted a better this, he wanted a better income...
"Make sure you're building yourself up and not tearing yourself down". Love this!
My recent mindset shift has been 'the time will pass anyway.'
I was nervous about trying to become an accountant at 27, as the process takes 3ish years.
I read 'that time will pass anyway' in a TikTok comment and decided to go for it.
Hopefully, i follow through and qualify as an accountant.
"... Eventually, everything is possible. So, anytime you catch yourself thinking I can't do it, switch it to I can't do it yet." Well said!
Life is what you make out of it. There is no right or wrong. Make choices that resonate with your authentic self. Staying true to ourselves makes the whole experience more meaningful and it does act as an anchor🤍

Wow the quote that your mom said that is something that is so true. You can do it and be it all but just in different times, different seasons (Paraphrased). This is something that applies in my life right now especially ❤
A quote that truly changed my life is, "The words you speak build the house you live in" by Rumi.

"The sun will rise... and we will try again."
It's got me through some of my darkest days because it's a reminder that every day is a new day to start fresh.
I think this is a Swedish phrase, there are no cows on the ice , makes me smile and pulls me out of anxiety
Everything will work out at the perfect time... you need not worry.
❤LIFE BEGINS WHERE FEAR ENDS❤
This concept that changed my life is greatly presented in the quote by Tim Keller:-
“To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial.
I really wanted to hear those words from someone ❤
A quote that inspired me is "Someone who never made a mistake is a person who did nothing"
One of my favourite quotes, yess! Love this one, thank you for sharing Rusandi ❤️
Here's what makes me feel better- Your relationship with yourself decides how you vibe in life. 😇
Ohh..! I love your sit down videos so much, I keep re-watching them all the time. And btw what audiobook are you currently listening to?
Oh thank you! 🥰 The same ones to be honest, haha I haven't had a lot of time in the last couple of weeks to delve deeper - so still "In the Name of the Wind" and "I May Be Wrong" 🤓. How about you?
@@PickUpLimes I finished I May Be You 🤭 and I'm currently listening to a fiction one called You've Reached Sam. It's a nice one actually.
@@PickUpLimesPlease share your lifetime book list, roughly in order of meaningful ("transformational") value. You're one of the humblest wisest people.
I needed to hear this . I rush through everything I do and feel anxious. When I slow down I actually get more things done and feel better.
Thank you for all of your content🫶🏻
Thanks so much Isabella! ❤️
Wow, Robin not only v talented, but supercute, lovely childhood videos🌱
Hehe I think so too! 🤓🥰
I have to always remind my self , what has happened in the past I can not change but I can change tomorrow!
LOVEEEEE these types of videos Sadia❤ these literally feed my mind and soul which often times is more important than the body. Thank you❤
Aw that means so much, friend, thank you for the love on this video, it means a lot ❤❤
'You can walk away from a bully but you can't walk away from.yourself' ...that hit me hard. So many of us bully ourselves...
Well done you for taking good care of you ... I wish you continue to make these changes and free yourself of rules 🎉 🎉🎉🎉
One of my favourite quote is “ small trees don’t grow under big trees “
Oh that's beautiful! 🌳 Thank you for sharing 🥰 And with that said, when you become a bigger tree, one of my other favourite quotes is a Dutch idiom, which translates to "The tallest trees catch the strongest wind." As you grow and succeed, you’ll face more challenges-whether it's people or situations trying to knock you down. But as long as your roots are strong, you’ll be able to handle anything that comes your way! 💚
What does this beautiful quote even mean? "Small trees don't grow under big trees" 🤔
@@butternutsquashsaladThank you. So be your authentic self, stand on your own and for your own. Don't be molded by what's around you. 😊
It got me out of a unhealthy long term relationship and I use it often when I need a reminder that I can do anything!
read the forbidden book Magnetic Aura on Borlest, and you'll see the secrets they're keeping from us.

Who is They?
For me having a growth mindset has been the most life changing idea. It has helped improve my skills and realize that we are so much capable than we initially thought we were.
"You will have everything you've ever wanted in your life, just never all at the same time."
I remember yours mum quote from some older video of yours and it still often crosses my mind when I feel like my life is not completely what I want it to be in a given moment. I totally new it was going to be this one before you said it. Such powerful and wise words. Thanks for videos like this❣
Thank you so much for this video ❤ my favorite quote is " in a year from now, you won't even remember the emotional state you're in right now."
