“Beware of destination addiction” wow I absolutely needed to hear this. Remember that 99 perfect of getting to the goal is the journey. This is such a beautiful way of thinking and in a world obsessed with hustle culture it’s a great way to recenter the mind and enjoy the small moments 💜
Hi! I couldn't help but notice you also left a comment on a Kevin Jubbal video! I'm a fan of his and Pick up Limes as well. I hope you and everyone a great success and journey on your endeavours. We got this!
I was just discussing this with a friend tonight. Being grateful for where we are and our moments of joy is so important. Why do we sabotage by thinking we could be somewhere else doing xyz.
I watched this video last night and already forgot what the 5 habits were so I'm back to rewatch and make a note for myself. 1. Enjoy the journey - we spend more time climbing up during the hike than we do enjoying the view at the top so why not enjoy the entire journey. 2. Mind your response in situations, it is the only thing you can control to influence the outcome of things. - perception determines how we feel 3. Swap out words with negative meanings to words with positive meanings. The words you use can influence how you feel. We tend to vent about our frustrations and use negative words in the process. Then when we are alone, those same word choices are made, the effect can compound. Get in the habit of expressing things with more positivity, gratitude, hope, excitement, etc. 4. Comparison is the thief of joy. Comparison seems to be a natural human response so don't feel bad about doing it, just be mindful of it. Remember that we know 100% of our own lives, all the good and all the bad but we only see what other people want us to see about theirs. 5. Tend to your emotional wounds as much as you would a physical wound.
Connecting with nature, reading books, meditating, and being in the present moment. I guess I am ready to choose happiness in every moment. In every way
That first one I really relate to. Always feeling like there's someplace to be. I've been working on that, practicing to relinquish the need to control and "maximize" every moment. Focusing on what's in front of me, vs what's next, and just letting things happen. Thanks for sharing.
When my mother was alive, I would stay with her two evenings a week while the sibling who lived with her worked. If a friend asked if I'd like to go out on one of those evenings, my response would be, "I have to watch my mother." I am beyond grateful that I finally caught on to how I was phrasing my answer, and changed it to, "I get to spend time with my mom that evening." I loved her, and I was talking as though spending time with her was a burden. She died a couple of years ago and I long for the times when I was able to spend time with her.
@@GS-lq2is Sorry if you are experiencing something like that in your life right now. Unfortunately there're a lot of things we can't control, but what we can control is our mind.
Idk... that mindset seems kinda toxic to me. Sure, not everything is black or white. But things like war, hunger, rape, etc.? These are entirely bad things, no matter how much you try to think otherwise. Is that really what you want to say to people who experienced such things, to simply change their perspective on things? That's BS.
@@KateViko Thanks, I’m not at the moment. My issue is with the concept-for example, do you think that Jews in concentration camps should just have changed their perspective and then everything would have been fine? I’m not trying to argue with you per se, but I believe this is a pernicious attitude in western culture. I admit I haven’t read it yet, but Barbara Ehrenrich’s book, Bright-Sided, apparently explores this subject quite a bit.
Ever been in a situation where you tell the universe what you need and it’s provided to you? This video was it. I’m going through grief and trauma and not only did your words help, your sponsor now has a new client (I kept saying this past week I wanted to find a therapist to work through my stuff). Thanks, Sadia ❤️
Love this video and the tips, Sadia! It can be so hard to be ambitious and strive for success on the one hand and to feel truly at peace and content on the other hand. Thanks for sharing the 99% concept ❤️
Sadia, I just wanted to tell you that it's amazing that you are open about your anxiety, I think more people can relate to it than we would have initially thought!
I'm going through some difficult stuff in my life and my mind is so tired and exhausted, this video is blessing from above, thank you for your energy and calm vibes😇 I really needed that today, so i can go on and have a great week ahead 😊❤️
Another helpful thought pattern shift is saying "I could" or "I get to" instead of "I have to." I think it was mentioned in another PUL video. "I have to do laundry" vs. "I could do laundry" and "I have to exercise" vs. "I get to exercise" have made a world of a difference in my life.
Wow, that is a mindblower. These days I have been feeling soo guilty because I did not exercise even though I "had" to. But today, I think I will get to exercise. Even reading this reply made me feel better about myself. Thank you.
Hello, I just wanted to add to this great advice. I replace it with, “I can”. Little tip from my therapist; saying, “I can” instead of “have to”, “need to”, “should” helps empower you. My mother is abusive and made me feel incapable of things so I struggle with that. Saying I can do something makes me sound capable of doing it and more likely to do things and feel good about it. It also helps with low motivation. The more you do the more capable you feel and therefore the more capable and confident you become. Thank you for sharing your tips!
This is so very true, not only do our thoughts impact how we are feeling, they also create our beliefs which in turn create the way we perceive life. So just changing the way that we think can literally change our entire life by changing how we perceive it. Thanks for sharing these great tips to help with that 😊
I love therapists that challenge you. At first I usually get really frustrated because I feel like she doesn't get what I'm feeling, but after the sessions I reflect the things she says and whether she might be right in some points
Hi Sadia. I just wanted to say. My lovely wifey and I went plant based 4 years ago. We're still experimenting with recipes and flavours and combo's of things, with mixed success. But your dishes have been a total godsend. You single handedly changed the way I made oats for 30 years!!! Yes, this is a good thing. So I just wanted to share, let you know that this ex South African and ex Japanese lady both adore your work and your content and your recipes. You rock. All the best. Big hug.
I'm dealing with the loss of my lovely ex boyfriend, who lost his life due to a tragic motorcycle accident at 24 years old. I am really trying to cope with this sadness and trying not to let it take my spark and my daily happiness away. Thank you for this beautiful video! I hope everyone in here will try to make their days shinier and take care of their selves ❤️
I was getting into a not very happy place and this just set my thoughts straight and I know things are going to get better! Thank you for the reminder :)
Once I was a regular viewer of your videos and I'm going throw a very phase of my life. It's a heartbreak, I have to let go of the love of my life from myself & I had to make this decision. I was going to throw tears and your video popped up. Trust me the moment you said the very 1st word with a simple it bring a sense of relief and calmness into me
Essentialism is definitely key for me, I try to cut out as much as I can so I can think more deeply about and focus harder on what really matters. Much less stress, more focused, decrease in waste, increase in meaningful productivity, and leaves me more time for passions and what not as well...key to happiness for me.
Sadia talking about health is my religion, thank you for another wonderful video! As someone who also has anxiety, it was powerful to know that you, a person I look up to for the bits that you choose to share online, deals with it too and still manages to be so admirable and inspiring! Therapy can be really important and I am glad I had the means to start and continue
We usually get emotionally involved in every aspect of our life.. but unlike our physical well-being, we kind of ignore the signs of our state of mind.. we aren't aware of how to take care of our emotional hygiene.. Thank you for this.. listening to your words make me feel better.. sending you lots of love.. 💜
I finished this semester with two term papers and a very important application. It felt utterly amazing being done with it. But then I asked myself: what now? The 99% of getting to this short moment of joy were stressful and only filled with the thought "I have to get this done." Thank you for those wonderful messages :) Pick Up Limes has never been a recipe bank for me only, but a comforting place to both calm down and challenge my views. You're the best!
Most of the other channels I’m subscribed to, I watch their videos on 2xs speed. But with all of your videos, I ALWAYS slow them down so I can absorb more what you have to teach. I absolutely LOVE your channel and share it with all my friends. Thank you for what you do!!
Every time I feel low and am about to reboot my schedule and living pattern you come up with your amazing content that really really helps me. You, the vibes through your content, your voice, what you speak every little thing is soothing and therapeutic ❤
I usual put your videos while I'm cooking or doing some house work like a podcast cause I find your voice really soothing. And as I was today, I zoned out for a bit *comparing myself to a colleague at work* when I hear you say to stop comparing ourselves to people... I simply smiled. Thank you for making anxiety look so serene and mental hygiene feel so attainable. Sending you love from Morocco. ❤ I'd love to start creating content for moroccan people inspired by you, I'll just have to build up the courage for that.
You are so wise… you don’t know how much I learn from your videos. Putting in practice your many tips thru your videos have made a huge difference in my outlook of life.
Sometimes we get so caught up in reaching the milestones we forget to enjoy the process of getting there, letting each day pass us by. This was such a lovely video, thank you 💛
A few years ago I was struggling with free floating anxiety so I made my Little Book of Positivity. I’m a 52 year old woman who indulges her inner child’s love of cutting and sticking, so my book is full of pictures and motivational sayings. Each day I flick through my book and pick one thing that resonates with me on that particular day, and I take it with me in my heart for the day.
The mindest is seriously so important, I personally started studying last summer and I never really liked the people in my semester. I just don‘t like the vibe and didn‘t make a lot of friends here. It really lowered my motivation o study and attempt the classes. Yesterday I started looking around and began to think about a positive thing for each person in the room (like „I like her outfit“ or „he actually seems very chill and relaxed“ stuff like that) and it just makes a huge difference and I suddenly don‘t feel that lonely anymore when sitting in a class
Sadia this video just came at the right time!!! Sometimes i am just thinking about the future and worrying, while it really affects my mood and causes anxiety 🥺 but I am willing to try the idea of changing my response on daily situations to feel better 🙏 thank you a lot ❤️ PUL is really my happy and safe place 🌸
THANK YOU SO MUCH miss sadia!!!!!!! idk bout anyone else but after watching ur videos (like this one from past) i've started becoming more mindful about my decisions and the thoughts that cross my mind and i can't begin to tell u how much impacting that was for me in the past couple of months. i seriously cant thank u enough for making such videos and influencing people and spreading such positivity. YOU are doing a great job and i want u to know how much it means to us, ur followers, when u upload. ly to the pluto and back, sincerely your viewer ❤
Being in the present !! Gets tougher as we grow up right.. Living close to nature, meditation, gratitude & most importantly to be in the present every single moment, would create a world of eternity & peace for our mind & soul.. That would truly be blissful 💕
This is what I needed today. I felt unsettled yesterday and all I needed to hear this perspective. All of these are wonderful things to practice in life.
I love how everybody in the comment section is like "this video came at the right time". Because it really did..yesterday I was going through so much negative stuff and just over thinking about my future..this little blessing really helped so, thanks a lot Sadia!!
A girl friend of mind moons ago introduce this idea about minding my thoughts. It wasn't until well into my adult living I was able to put these pieces together about minding what I let enter in my inner world. When I began to do affirmations not only did my quality of thoughts start changing I was able to embrace little moments defining my journey. Thanks for this soothing vid
I work in youth development and I instantly thought of my high schoolers and middle schoolers with many of these points. I’m going to share this with them at our next group discussion. Your simple explanation and breakdown makes these important mental shifts accessible to multiple age groups.
The way in which you speak, the sounds and all the atmosphere which come out from your videos, it is all so peaceful. I always find myself smiling in relaxation. Your contents are a warm cloth in these hard days!
Thank you Sadia for sharing the importance of emotional hygiene. Currently resetting my life and as someone that also has anxiety it is easy to worry and have us motivating self talk, but I like the way of choosing more optimistic word choices that can also help us to give ourselves grace in what we do.
Your smile is so contagious... I just see you talking... And even though I am not listening you properly, It feels good. It's your vibe that makes the video so affirming and calming
So calming to hear you share your own struggle with anxiety, Sadia. Helped me connect with you more and relate, as I have lived with similar challenges too. Also felt awesome to see someone I adore use Betterhelp like I did! I'm considering signing up again 😊💚
I have to appreciate how you put an effort to create such an incredible simple video..... I didn't get distracted or opened comment section while watching this video. I really enjoyed and felt like good therapy session while watching. More love and support to you ❤️❤️
You are a rare and amazing person! Your channel is so inclusive and with a variety of different subjects I honestly can't see why the whole world doesn't watch it. You should be a health coach, your definitely talented for it. Much love for you and yours.!!!
Haven't watched the video yet but would like to thank you for exposing me to Nathaniel Drew's content. He's precious and and an important component in my intent to be live mindfully. 10 million followers wouldn't represent the weight of your impact on social media.sending you so much Love and Peace from Upstate NY :)
I love watching your videos Sadia, I've been seeing such a progress, not just physically, mentally and emotionally, just know that you're making everyone's day a lot better, Keep up the good work!!❤️👍🏻
Thank you Sadia for this video. You have no idea how much I needed this right now. I've been struggling with anxiety and very negative thoughts about myself in the past weeks because of an upcoming exam that is very important to me. This video made me realize how important our mindset is whenever we face challenges. I'm not sure how you do it, but you always seem to upload such videos when I need them the most. Thank you for this important message. I'm beyond grateful for your hard work. Much love❤❤❤
I love when you do these types of videos! Don't get me wrong, all the yummy, cooking goodness is my favorite buuut I so enjoy being able to see a sit-down video where you just chat and teach us something we may not have known about our physical or mental health!
Thank you for diversifying your contents! I love your intakes on mental health and healthy (mindful) living ! I look forward to more diverse and wholesome content! Hopefully I'll get a small part of PUL's wholesome positivity!
This is so great and the timing is impeccable! I've deemed April to be my "month if new habits", to take the next few weeks to focus on creating healthy and positive habits to benefit my life! So this video couldn't have come at a better time
Thankyou for taking time to share.Very timely,I was in depression and anxiety lately...such a great help! Please continue sprinkle love wherever you go.
I am so grateful for the content that you provide not just the nutritional content specifically is So necessary in this world words can’t begin to describe how grateful I am for the work that you do thank you thank you thank you
I clicked on this video thinking it would be the cliche habits of eating healthier, sleeping more, etc (which is all great don't get me wrong) but I am so happy that you introduced such a great perspective and advice that we often forget. Thank you for yet again such an amazing video!
While I know I have heard most, if not all of this before, in numerous ways, I can not help but comment on how lovely Your presentation was ...what a divine reminder💞 Bright Beautiful Blessings Be, Always
Thanks for that. I've been using your first group of words way too much. Thanks for making me aware. It's been hard to use the second group of words lately, and I must step back and try harder. turn negative into positive thoughts.
One of my clients once told me, "everything will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, then it's not the end"... I loved that. Sending lots of love 💕
I was so ready for this video to be a “drink water, journal, meditate” type of video and you totally caught me by surprise. Such valuable advice that is realistic and sustainable. I also adore all these quotes, they were so nice to hear. Thank you for this!
This is mine and my husbands approach to life. We allow everything in every moment, for every moment is a total gift. There are no mistakes and everything that is meant for you will come. Trust and have faith in the universe and nothing will ever go "wrong". Much love ❤️
The Power of Now & The Four Agreements are good reading materials to help those needing to be mindful/staying in the moment and to let go of the negative thoughts and spiraling over what could’ve been or what could be. Thank you for this share. I was just speaking with someone about this topic a few hours ago. Definitely resonates with me.
As I grow older, the more I feel that I'm becoming aware of my thoughts and actions. You'd be surpise at how people respond without thinking, as I have done so for 28 years. Being conscious of your thoughts can make really big changes in what type of outcome you want in your life.
All of your videos are insightful but this one was really eye opener. I'm goal-oriented and impatient, so I become very frustrated when i don't see results. Last year, I felt so unaccomplished with my life and sometimes I feel like a loser but I need to shift my mindset and enjoy the process and not just the result.
I really needed this video today! I've been wondering these same questions for the last few weeks. I've been feeling lots of autocriticism, lost, and somehow aimless. "Beware of destination addiction". Thank you for your positive mindset, and making me feel less alone in this journey. Greetings from Spain!!
Your smile and videos have a great calming positive vibes which is in itself is a therapy . I like the way you define minimalism in some of your videos. Thank you for making such amazing videos.
So many great nudgets and reminders in this one! For me it’s time in nature, playing with my little one or just watching him to play… kids are such a great reminder of what life is actually about
Was watching your previous videos back to back and got notified with your new upload.. that too on such topics.. love love love your channel.. keep uploading Tea time Tuesday videos.. lots of love from India
Thank you so much for talking about how we are often too focused on the destination. I am reminded now to reflect on my journeys in the past and be proud of where I am now. Today we are often so focused on these fleeting moments of success and then those moments go away. I forget that my past self would be thrilled to see where I am now!!!
I just love the way u break down things ......into so simple topics n explain it.....I had recently started following ur bulletin pattern n it has helped me a lot....thanku soo soo much...lots of love from india❤
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and practices. They seem obvious at first but after struggling for so long in the wake of my divorce and child custody lawsuits, I can really appreciate your wisdom.
So greatful to have uplofting media such as yours. Im glad you take a step off the usual self engrandment side of sm and show your human/ vulnerable side 😀
Sadia, your videos are always such a treat! They are a big help - I especially liked that you talked about therapy. This topic and how helpful it is, really needs to be more talked about. Thank you for putting so much love and effort in your work. ❤️ Lots of love from Hamburg!

"There's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." - That is so truee, it all starts with ourselves and our own perceptions of things.

Thanks
Sadia this video just came at the right time!!! Sometimes i am just thinking about the future and worrying, while it really affects my mood and causes anxiety 🥺 but I am willing to try the idea of changing my response on daily situations to feel better 🙏 thank you a lot ❤️ PUL is really my happy and safe place 🌸

Being in the present !! Gets tougher as we grow up right..
Living close to nature, meditation, gratitude & most importantly to be in the present every single moment, would create a world of eternity & peace for our mind & soul.. That would truly be blissful 💕
Today I was in depression and anxiety but Allah suggest this video. Thanks Sadia for making my day better and please make more videos on this topic
This is what I needed today. I felt unsettled yesterday and all I needed to hear this perspective. All of these are wonderful things to practice in life.
I love all the details, imagery, and love you put into your videos. It's a joy to watch.
I love how everybody in the comment section is like "this video came at the right time".
Because it really did..yesterday I was going through so much negative stuff and just over thinking about my future..this little blessing really helped so, thanks a lot Sadia!!
The 99% theory was a beautiful way of putting what we all feel most of our time.
These are the perspective through which one should approach difficulties and hardship. Thank you Sadia, for making us live life the right way.
Your channel is lovely ❤️
Thank you soo much! ❤️
I mentally cheer you on all of the time. Thank you for putting so many good things out into the world.
Aw you're the best, Julie - thank you! 🥰 🤗
What a blessing to hear! I especially liked the one about emotional hygiene and tending to emotional wounds right away.
The way you talk with us is just an life giving therapy.♥
💛

Omg ! The E+R=O is such a good way for a positive thinking....just today I had this feeling of being unlikable ..... perfect timing 🍃
First of all watching your videos is therapy. Your home, the plants and your calm voice relaxes my mind. Thank u for your videos
As a social worker, I really appreciate what you are doing. Thank you so much.
Seeing your beautiful face and listening to your voice is very therapeutic. Keep up with your great work. This world needs more of you. Thank you.
" There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so" (Shakespeare) nicely quoeted and defined 💐💐
While I know I have heard most, if not all of this before, in numerous ways, I can not help but comment on how lovely Your presentation was ...what a divine reminder💞
Bright Beautiful Blessings Be, Always
Thanks for that. I've been using your first group of words way too much. Thanks for making me aware. It's been hard to use the second group of words lately, and I must step back and try harder. turn negative into positive thoughts.
Really needed this right now! Last few weeks have been hell in my mind. Really need to get it sorted out
One of my clients once told me, "everything will be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, then it's not the end"... I loved that. Sending lots of love 💕
@@PickUpLimes Thankyou!! I was in need to hear this line.
There's nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it. Thank you for this video!
I was so ready for this video to be a “drink water, journal, meditate” type of video and you totally caught me by surprise. Such valuable advice that is realistic and sustainable. I also adore all these quotes, they were so nice to hear. Thank you for this!
What a great video in all aspects! Thank you for breaking down these points so well and explaining what we can do as alternatives.
This video’s advocacy of Healthy thinking is much needed reminder that it is critical part of equation to happiness, love this channel’s positivity.
SO. GOOD. Love how you are simply asking others to bring awareness to their perspective and mindset of life. 🌅
This is mine and my husbands approach to life. We allow everything in every moment, for every moment is a total gift. There are no mistakes and everything that is meant for you will come. Trust and have faith in the universe and nothing will ever go "wrong".
Much love ❤️
I feel like a new person!
Your speech eloquence was amazing. Thoroughly resonated with your wonderful insights.
“Beware of destination addiction” 😭 What an amazing message, needed this today
For me it’s time in nature, playing with my little one or just watching him to play… kids are such a great reminder of what life is actually about
Mental health is so important. Many teens need this type of help. Thank you for talking about this topic.
I love when you make this kind of videos,, the way you explain things you make me really think differently about things
Was watching your previous videos back to back and got notified with your new upload.. that too on such topics.. love love love your channel.. keep uploading Tea time Tuesday videos.. lots of love from India
I Love Home Cooking Psychology, it shows that everybody tries his best
I love that you came back to these themes!
Thank you for the reminder that life is a journey, not a destination! It helps just to slow yourself down and enjoy the simple moments of life.
