Here in Australia I have been told locking lug nuts ( wheel nuts) are illegal something about them coming loose or something, Air conditioning over here you have to have a licence 😂, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
At our shop, it was a rule that if one of the valves was leaking, both got replaced. If both valves were leaking, we replaced the line and the receiver drier as well.
When the compressor kicks on and the low side sucks down like that and the high side is low then you're low on freon. That's why it's cycling. Orifice tube's can get clogged from debris. The signs of that are usually the low side pulling a vacuum and the high side high.
I had leaky Schrader valves on my 1999 Silverado 5.3L. I bought a kit on the jungle website to replace the valves without losing Freon. Working great now.
I live in South Florida and hurricane Milton brought a metric ton of tornadoes through my town, one was literally 20 feet from my mothers house and they’re not kidding when they sound like a freight train coming. Scaary stuff.
I'm surprised Jacob didn't put in a concrete storm shelter. Easy install. They dig a hole with a backhoe and lower it in. I'm in tornado alley too and we've used our shelter several times. We go when the weather alert tells us.
I was watching Ryan Hall on the TH-cams with his coverage of the tornado activity and I saw Pot County on the radar, immediately was thinking about the Puddinfamily. Glad ya'll escaped that mess.
i was watching Ryan Hall Yall on TH-cam when he mentioned Pott County getting some bad weather. i definitely started praying yall were safe from the weather
Was watching a storm chaser during those storms. He drove by my hometown of Stuart. I recalled the days of my youth. We didn't have tv, let alone u tube. We judged the location of tornadoes by the amount of hail we got and direction of the wind. My job ws keep the cellar cleared of spiders and snakes. That was worse than the weather. Glad y'all stayed safe.
Tighten the shader valve cap with a pair pliers, they have O-rings and a middle seal. It got enough might be a year or more before you have to put more in it.
Talk with your contractors, there should NOT be that much water coming into your shop. If they can't stop it from coming in, they sure can install some floor drains to get rid of it so you don't have to. I know first hand how enjoyable it is to lose everything you own to excessive rainfall. With putting only 36oz of refrigerant into your A/C, you probably have enough room for leak detection dye, it takes all the fun out of doing guess work. DAM GLAD all the really nasty weather side stepped you. Did you recently get a small white box from your P.O. Box marked "Forestry Suppliers"?? I haven't seen you do a video where you unbox stuff people send to you, and I just wanted to be sure you got it. GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Stopped at 15:30 to drop this comment…. When your ac compression is not on, the low side pressure should be almost pegged high…. There should be a sticker under your hood that tells you how much Freon that thing should hold…. Those valves go bad…. Replace the valves, vacuum the system down with a vacuum pump, recharge the system to the correct amount, the ac should run you out of that thing….. oooo and purge ur hoses as your putting Freon in it… when u change cans air gets in your hoses and you don’t want to push that into your ac system….. ok I’m going to continue to watch your video 👍🏻
I use a brake line, a straight length 12"of line with a weatherhead male fitting soldered together to draft refrigerant oil from the bottom of the container and use the vacuum from the system to suck it's own oil , rather than trying to pour it in with a pee pee funnel. I always added 3.0 0z of PAG oil to make sure there was plenty of oil in case someone has been there before me.
For the love of God Puddin, take the stickers off of your windows on the building!!! Glad you finally got enough rain to help those utility backfill to settle and compact!
Hope my luv is safe at d&h... Thanks for signing the glove box for me. Really means a lot to me. I can't wait to get it home and put that baby back on the road!!!! Made a guy's dream come true so thank you for that
I moved from Moore, OK, used to be Tornado Alley's favorite hangout, to Colorado Springs, CO. at the end of August. No Saturday Noon Tornado Siren Tests here. OKC still home though, Old David Payne, when he takes off that suit jacket, you know its getting serious. They get it wrong often enough, because Mother Nature refuses to be predictable, but I trust those weather dudes in Oklahoma over most anywhere else. The stuff I hated was the hail storms. I got caught in a hail storm on a BMX bike as a teen, and I tell you I would have crawled under a car to avoid it. Me and my 2 buddies found a small apartment bldg with an enclosed stairway to shelter in for about an hour. You grow up in those conditions, and its easy to get complacent. Currently in Colorado SPrings, we got about 6 inches of snow, expecting another foot or more in the next 2 days. Mother Nature found me, she is pissed I moved. Y'all hang in down there, Puddin and Family, God's Blessings to you all...and even Mortske.
Yeah man, I grew up in Wichita and now I live right outside Colorado Springs. I sure do miss a nice tornado and those plains storms that would roll through.
I'm with you here in Alabama where no stranger to the Tomato either. Whatever's going to happen is going to happen ain't nothing I can do to change it.
I also bought one of the ac recharge kit black and gold cans like you did that hose coupler would not stay connected to the ac low side fitting so I ended up giving it away since my compressor clutch doesn't even kick on anymore oh well I guess I have decided to get rid of this truck before the ground squirrels destroy a decent truck and just pick up another carbd square body truck
Those Schrader valves are replaceable. There's another TH-camr who replaces those valves whenever a customer brings their car in for A/C service. If they ain't gone bad, they will.
The Schrader valves leak on the Chevy's they have new ones at your local parts store on the shelf you would have to recover the Freon and replace them and vacuum the system and recharge it
Excellent Video Pudding :) also the lug nut should use all same on all studs the lock one sometimes be terrible get off and all repairs do such super too! Also be safe from Hurricane weather plus your family too and close friends in USA not sure hit Canada in Ontario I live to!
Im now having this issue with my 2000 dodge ram freaking ground squirrel chewed the connector clean off the compressor and I tried charging the ac my compressor no longer kicks back on and cycles so it looks like im going to replace ac compressor that worked fine before this but im guessing my luck something shorted out so it doesn't even kick on and cycle anymore, freaking ground squirrel chewed up the wiring on the one vehicle ive owned that was not all hacked up under the hood,, the map sensor,ac compressor clutch pigtail, injector cylinder 7, distributor feed to the ignition coil, and the signal and ground wires on the crankshaft position sensor... dammit freaking ground squirrel....
My grandfather lived in southwest Missouri, one year we drive out to visit him and after arriving at my grandfathers farm a huge storm that had already put a tornado on the ground was getting bigger, the news said it was headed directly for the farm, me born and raised in CA was freaking out, asking if we should be in the storm shelter. My grandfather calmly said “you see trees out there across the field? When you see those bend down and touch the ground that’s when it’s time to go to the shelter” 😂😂 I was like well that seems a little late to me but if you say so 😂😂😂
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ Thank God no harm came to you guys. That water coming in would certainly piss me off, you don't need any damaged merchandise. Regardless of what you're up to it's always cool to watch. ✌️🇺🇲
Hey @puddin. Depending what year that cat eye is. There is a kick panel on the passenger side. If you take the bolts off and reach in there. There will be a plug. Turn your ac on cold and high and unplug that plug. Wont have any issues. Pulling fuses wont do much unfortunately. My 2005 did that and i unplugged that and i never had an issue. Its rednecy enginuity. But it also saves you about $300 in the long run. And when you want heat. Plug it in.
Pro Tip: pull 30” of vacuum with the pump running for 30min, close the valves at the quick connects and let it hold 30” for another 30min. Then refill with the cans up right (gas) on the low side. Don’t slug the compressor flipping the cans upside down (liquid).
Puddin, I lucked out on my 98 Camry and got by with a relay! Too bad you left the old Schrader valve in the high side. Rainman Ray down in Florida who does a lot of AC work always replaces both Schraders! Thanks for another interesting video! We don't get tornados in New Mexico so it's new to me!
That was a smart idea just using the 3 cans most people don’t think about the oil in the system it takes room i went to school on ac systems have my type 1-2 certification for homes I also learned automobile ac systems in the process
Both of the Schrader valves, the low and high side both started leaking on my Chevy Suburban. I bought some new ones at the Autozone. I had the same problem, I couldn't figure out at first where to break loose the old ones, had to look at it for a while. LOL
We Arkansas folks know all about those tornadoes. I went through the 1997 March 1st and the 1999 January 21st outbreaks, you can look those up if you want. And some we had during the 2008 Super Tuesday outbreak. Stay safe!!
We have an O'Reilly's and an AutoZone right next store to each other in our small Indiana town, only 18,000 in our county, every time I go in, they look like they are bored to death. Good work Puddin
Your refrigerant is too low, that’s why it’s doing that. You go off the pressure as the compressor is running. It’s kicking on but then the refrigerant gets low and kicks the compressor off. Just replace the valve cores, the make a service kit. Vacuum it down and fill back up. Nothing too complicated
First I'm glad Ya'll are safe!!! The service ports on the hvac are notorious for leaking, especially the one that looks like it has a black rubber BB in it!!
When your AC charge is too low to kick on the compressor, all you're seeing on that gauge is the pressure between the bottle the hose and wherever the valve is inside the AC see the system isn't charged just the section that you're measuring the AC compressor has to be running when you check the pressure.
The orifice tube also incorporates a screen and you can remove it and wash it. it isn't magic, and you need to get familiar with the pieces and parts. By passing the pressure switch is the first thing to test the air conditioner function, and then the next is hooking up the gauge set what it is reading. In your case, it has lost enough Refrigerant to finally short cycle and not keep the clutch on the Compressor involved long enough to cool anything.
Check condenser fan. Should be running, mine did the same and fan was bad. Started to get cold then started cycling compressor bc it could not get rid of heat.
It probably been said 10000 times just replace the low side schrader andhigh-pressuree service port. Vacuum the system then recharge. Should be good to go.
Hey pudding as a collision tech for 45+ years ac systems run colder slightly low much about your 4ounces. Great job,did you trying to twerk the shrader valve just wondering. You ask why it cools better you ask the compressor does not have to work as hard. 😮
Pudding those pressures your looking for 30-45 on the low side is for when the compressor is on. When it off that pressure will go way up. The high side should be around 200 running less when not running. You was way to low that's why it kicked off. The can gage was reading fine but like I said it should of been in the red when off an green when running. The pressure is always off when the compressor is off. Adding freon will fix it and probably jist need to clean the needle valves to get them to re seal. Take out clean off an put back In. Your compressor is fine no need to waste money. The pressure was confusing you because it was off when you was checking it. You can look it up online an it'll tell you about what it should be off and on. But your compressor is fine so is the orifice tube I promise
Most newer freon cans are self sealing so you don't actually puncture the can it has a cable that seals it back up and you can use it again later I work on a lot of a/c system
Gonna be honest puddin its always amazing how similar your weather and the way your town looks like it does up here in the middle western side of indiana. Ever heard of purdue? Lafayette? We are right south of there on the wabash a little town called attica. Also known for the potowatomi indianas.
They sell the access fittings at O O O O'Reilly. They're an easy bolt on replacement. And the new high side fitting will actually have a schrader core instead of the rubber ball.
My 2006 Chevy 1500 had a bad Climate Control modular, and I replaced it with one I bought online and it is now failing after 2 years so I bought an OEM one from the dealer and it is not a "plug and play" and needs to be soldiered with 4 wires (truck) going to 3 wires (modular) So I am just turning off the truck and restarting it when it starts blowing hot air on the driver's side of the system.
I recommend throwing those lug nuts with locks in the trash and getting 4 regular lug nuts.
was gonna say the same!
Would never run them myself either.
Ain’t it true
You know Puddins modo....
If 5 won't hold it, 6 never would!!!
Here in Australia I have been told locking lug nuts ( wheel nuts) are illegal something about them coming loose or something, Air conditioning over here you have to have a licence 😂, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Theo and babysitter in the same sentence is so adorable. That’s a good boy…
At our shop, it was a rule that if one of the valves was leaking, both got replaced. If both valves were leaking, we replaced the line and the receiver drier as well.

Another good one! I appreciate everything you do. I give a damn 😂 what you do. You make it fun Sir!
Thank you!

Ryan Hall is one of the better sources for weather.
good rule of thumb, if you are servicing the ac system, replace the valve cores unless you just replaced them
Don't feel bad,, looks like my shop when it rains no matter what way the wind or rain is going! 🤣🤣
Was watching a storm chaser during those storms. He drove by my hometown of Stuart. I recalled the days of my youth. We didn't have tv, let alone u tube. Used to live in Lawton and Fort Sill Oklahoma before moving to Indiana and we still have tornados.
28:10 we had clouds like that up here in southern Indiana and it was a tornado, took out part of the east side of my town.. pretty scary stuff.
Glad you guys are all good and safe from the tornado and weather!

I am absolutely shocked. We got no mud footage. It was the perfect opportunity, sir.😂😮
Hey Puddin, glad to see you guyz are safe with no real property damage. Fixing things repeatedly is my forte. Forget about it. God's Blessings to ya.
I use a brake line, a straight length 12"of line with a weatherhead male fitting soldered together to draft refrigerant oil from the bottom of the container and use the vacuum from the system to suck it's own oil , rather than trying to pour it in with a pee pee funnel. Will watch Puddin do just about anything...😊😂
I’m so glad I found you a few years ago. I always look forward to your videos
Well at least it’s leaking slower now, maybe the cap can hold that one back till end of the season.
Always like the behind the scenes! Glad you guys are safe!
Pleased you are all safe.
I’m over in Skiatook. We had sirens and tornadoes right after you all. But we are all good too! It’s Oklahoma, it’s just the way it is.
Keep an eye on your county auctions. You can find good tire machines and balances super cheap.
Praying for your family, for good health. Also, I'm glad you got some rain! ❤ Keep up the good content!
I am glad all y’all are safe. Have you thought about putting rubber seals on the floor under the roll up doors? They stop water.
I am glad that you and family is safe.
I grew up with the weather from the Oklahoma legend Gary England
I live across the border from you in Arkansas (the Ozarks) we got over a foot of rain in 2 days. Then rained for another 2.
Man, I grew up in Kansas with tornados and plains thunderstorms. Those are pretty much the only things I miss about living there.
I still live here. It's not very exciting 😅
Those Schrader valves are replaceable. There's another TH-camr who replaces those valves whenever a customer brings their car in for A/C service. If they ain't gone bad, they will.
Yeah true but he doesn't have his 609 epa license to physically work on the car ac
The Schrader valves leak on the Chevy's they have new ones at your local parts store on the shelf you would have to recover the Freon and replace them and vacuum the system and recharge it
May have overdone that prayin' for rain thing, but I am pleased that you are blessed with it.
Good job fan ! 🤣🤣 I fell out!
Excellent Video Pudding :) also the lug nut should use all same on all studs the lock one sometimes be terrible get off and all repairs do such super too! Also be safe from Hurricane weather plus your family too and close friends in USA not sure hit Canada in Ontario I live to!
Just got a f250, and it needs an AC refresh, now I know how to do it, Thanks Puddin.
our sirens went off in moore at 1:30 in the morning and the rotation had already passed us.
Keep doing what you do!! Who cares what just do it! Everything you do is great. Keep it up.
Watch out for those tornados! We had one come through Portage, Mi earlier this year. The sound was crazy!
Wanna see more of the finished projects being driven. It's always the van or tow pig. Wagon or travel-all maybe.
Ma Puddins scaring off the "Nader's" again ! Glad y'all are safe ! Godspeed....
I've definitely seen my fair share of tornadoes living in northeastern indiana over by the Ohio state line..

Are you gonna just waltz past that broken rear window on the van without an explanation...lol! 🤣
Came here to say the same.
It's been that way for a little while. It's fine.
It’s been out for a while. I thought he picked one up at St Louis when he dropped off the Courier and the old Load Star frame with Mortske recently.
@@jefferywarburton2116 If a trash bag and duct tape can't fix it.... 🤣
@@guyman2134 Could go for plywood and stickers.
glad y'all are good and safe! replace the schrader valves and recharge it! it'll be fine.
I see being ahead on videos is working out well.😂. I just seen my families posts about Oklahoma weather two days ago.
My two daughters and wife Tugboat watched you build that cowl on the Stout..the said you are very talented and I agree.
No matter what the content is, i don'T care! i'll watch!
I’ll take one of the damage hats, no problem😂😂😂 6:35
Both of the Schrader valves, the low and high side both started leaking on my Chevy Suburban. I bought some new ones at the Autozone. I had the same problem, I couldn't figure out at first where to break loose the old ones, had to look at it for a while. LOL
there is a tool to replace the valve without loosing freon i have one works great don't loose any freon

Great video brother love you guys keep them coming 👍
Pickup a valve core kit replace them all
Pull a vac and start over
Hey is the fan running on the rad ? If not it ain’t gonna cool
When your AC charge is too low to kick on the compressor, all you're seeing on that gauge is the pressure between the bottle the hose and wherever the valve is inside the AC see the system isn't charged just the section that you're measuring the AC compressor has to be running when you check the pressure.
Eggcorns can mean critters in the wiring. Hope not.
In Florida no AC means really hot and humid, gotta have it!
The orifice tube also incorporates a screen and you can remove it and wash it. it isn't magic, and you need to get familiar with the pieces and parts. You picked up Sir Morticus from the airporticus.
The creeper van is looking dope just needs one of those police style push bars with a couple aircraft landing lights 😁
Thank goodness we don’t need to worry about tornadoes in Victoria,Australia
I had that problem with my ac and I ended up using a shrader valve tool to tighten em up and boom. Fixed!
Disconnect your battery cables then touch them together for like 10 seconds, then your blend doors will work correctly (typically).
Happy you are doing good 🙏
Hey Puddin what you gonna do with that S10 you got back there hiding?
