I just love how the mother isn't denying the terrible things she did and that she owned up to it. And showing us how she changed and how she became more accepting
I live in Washington. My friend was forced into conversion therapy after coming out way back in middle school. He committed suicide right before his freshman year of high school. This video brought me to tears.
My friend came out as bisexual and was sent to a camp by her father (her parents were divorced so I'm pretty sure her mother had no idea). After she started going to camp, she was acting like her usual happy and bubbly self but you could tell something was off. She later started cutting herself every now and then and would make jokes about how her dad hated her and how she was a disappointment. She almost attempted suicide once. When she stopped going to camp, she later learned that she was not bisexual but instead she was lesbian.
@@adeadratlol3516 Poor girl, an all too common story. I don't know what you mean by left though. Sadly this is the kind of evil these camps perpetuate, that is why not only must they be shut down but the criminals that allow them to exist deserve to pay for their crimes and the suffering they have caused.
@@Benjamin-yd1lc The comparison is not weak in itself if we put it into perspective. Sometimes, numbers can go so high that we lose their value. 1,000 is already a population of very small urban city. Now, we're talking about "species". Different kinds and species of dogs already go to about 900 million. Just want to point out that there are 340 breeds of dogs. Not only that but, animals also think and have their own morals and beliefs. Now, whether they believe a god is not known to us. You may point out that there are videos of dogs or things doing religious things. All I can say to that is, they probably are from a religious environment. Just like how a baby will copy anything it sees (just like how we all copied are parents and decided to walk upright when we could just be crawling). Would also like to point out that, some things are not mere exageration. You can't say they are because they are most probably researched and tested by scientist. If it was written by an uncredible source, given, but do take in mind that scientists took their time to hone their craft. I'm not a scientist. You're not a scientist. We're just two people trying to prove our own statements in TH-cam. Now, here's the thing that I find unsettling with most people. People say that if you love the same gender, you can't reproduce. Doesn't have to be. You can get a surrogate. Also, we already have more people on Earth. We are taking more resources than what we can make. Don't you think that's a plus? And also the fact that most LGBT people adopts which is overall just better? And it's so insensitive to say they can't reproduce. Some straight couples can't have children too. Are you saying that they are also not qualified? P.S., Homosexuality is not an instinctual glitch in the mind. It's not an illness or a disease. There are already researches of this (some are small but you can find big studies out there). Lastly, people like to use "morals" to hide their discrimination. Don't use morals when you yourself know you don't abide by it. Given that not everyone is perfect, of course.
@@Benjamin-yd1lc So, you've decided to disregard your first statement to save yourself some face? Also, why would I lose credibility? You specifically said that the thing that separates us humans and animals is that we think, we have morals, and we have beliefs. I countered that by saying they do think and much like our own since both humans and animals are affected by the environment they were raised in. Also, yes, I am open-minded. I do know skepticism but do remember that the church disputed the scientists claiming that everything revolves around the Earth. I'd rather believe on something that was researched thoroughly than something from an old book ages ago. Also, many scientists know they don't know everything, that's why they research. Don't think for them as I know for a fact that you and scientists don't think alike. Also, tbh, science made us learn more than the Bible. Though, the Bible itself taught us many things, science helped us get through things we usually take for granted. If the church kept on stopping scientists like back then, do you think you'd still be living comfortably in your home right now? And when you say bias, I'm not bias by any means. Give me something solid and I'll accept it. Mind you, I came from a very strict Christian family and I went to church 6 days a week for 4 years. I've listened to what the Bible had to say. You never said that homosexuality is a mental illness? What do you mean about "Glitch in the mind"? And, do you really think that attraction is instinctual? Perhaps, yes, but how can you prove none of that applies to homosexuals? I want to see your proof. Give me concrete proof. A white paper. A research. Anything that has a solid evidence from a credible source or something you've conducted yourself through multiple trial and error process. And, why do you care about men's fertility anyways? People aren't just there for sex. They are there for love. Why do you guys keep thinking that homosexuals are all in there just for sex? They're not rabbits. Never said divinity is impossible. I'm an agnostic theist. I don't believe in an organized religion but I believe in God but do remember that God said to love other people the same as how you love yourself and that whatever you do to another person, you're essentially doing to God. P.S., Christianity was a forced religion. Many countries conquered other countries and forced their belief into them. Not really as divine as you though it'd be.
@@Benjamin-yd1lc Factually speaking, not eight thousand times but I know we all can't go into the very statistics of things. As I said, I'm putting things into perspective but it seems that they were not conveyed but I will still repeat. Dogs. 1 species. 340 variation. Population, 900 million. I've added the number 1,000 (talking about species. So, their total number does not equal to 1,000. Same as how I can say 1 specie: Human, which has 7+ billion in population.) "The Roman Catholic CHURCH believed that the Sun and Moon orbited the Earth, not the CHURCH." Not a good construction of sentence so, we'll disregard this one because you explicitly say Roman Catholic Church. Also, how would you know that they did it for God? Was there any recorded text? If so, I'll retract this statement but, as far as it goes, none of them explicitly states that what they're are in the name of God but out of their sheer curiousity. The Bible taugh us some great morals but when you get sick, God doesn't directly heal you but the medicines you take. When your vision blurs, you use glasses which was formed through science. When you use your phone, you're relying on science. If you dare claim that the Bible taught us more, then, I dare you not rely in any of humanity's advancement when you ever need any help and hope your scriptures heals you. Not everyone will try to hold on to something that no one can even prove to be something true. I wouldn't say it's a pipe dream but it's like wishing to be a billionaire in day by selling a lemonade recipe you just thought off in the back of your mum's van. As I said, I'm not bias. I'm an open-minded person and would retract my statements if you've proven me something yet you're only trying to dispute my statements with fallacies and biblical statements which offer almost zero concrete and solid evidence. Also, I don't oppose the church. There are some things from church that I like and I still am in a church despite being an agnostic theist. It's just the hypocrisy of the whole thing and how things seemingly change to depict what the current church wants and not necessarily what the Bible is supposed to mean. Also, sexual attraction to the same gender makes sense scientifically. All it takes is a single Google search to find out (if you're lazy, the genetic makeup in our DNA may determine the sexual orientation of a person but the study is still fairly new because, let's face the truth. Homosexuality was basically taboo back then and this kind of study would have been dismissed). Also, still the same. Love is not all about the sex and having a baby hence why there are types of relationships, whether it be straight or not, chose not to have a baby. Not entirely true. One example is the Filipino history. Christianity was literally forced to them (though, given that some decided to accept it just cause, but a lot of people were forced to be Christian.) Just a little thing. I'm quite worried that I'm having a debate with a child (based on your TH-cam account) so, if you are, I highly suggest that please do your own research. Children still have lots to learn though I accept that there are kids out there far brighter than me.
They attacked another TH-camr god is grey for accepting homosexuality and Bethany’s husband went to conversion therapy so it strikes a cord for her. Unfortunately Bethany and Dave are having a child now so it’s very unlikely he’ll really accept who he is
I love the mother, we need people like her. "She put him in there in the first place." Yes but you need to understand. 1.She was raised, and I guess you could say brainwashed while growing up that its wrong. 2. In her day and age theres no ifs or buts or standing out about it. 3. She married a pastor which made it worse and enforced it. 4. She did research. 5.She admitted her wrongs, and is obviously very emotional about it. 6. Her son has forgiven her. 7. Shes not standing up against it. 8. Shes speaking out and making people aware.
Yep. A horrific story with a nonetheless hopeful, inspiring ending. But it also drives home JUST how cruel these “ministries” are for exploiting the love of families, and for twisting that love and turning caring parents into abusers.
Even tho they are not going through it anymore, its still affected a large part in their sons lives, that no amount of recuperating will suffice the large part of time lost in their only one life, id be pissed but moving on is only bittersweet. Atleast they can move on and overcome this past.
I talked to an older gay man who said he was sent to conversion therapy and he said his was awesome. He had more gay hook ups there then he did before going. He said he also learned more ways of hiding being gay. He's out of the closet now and happier than ever. His story doesn't reflect many others, but I found it fascinating
the truth is that most of the these people who manifest ridiculous homophobia are frequently gay themselves but don't know how to deal with it because they've been manipulated to believe that it's wrong their whole lives and they try to let out their subconscious frustration through that hate.
There is pastors that have cheated on their wives with the youth girls, it’s sad but things like that truly happen mainly because of their closeness to god.
freedom of religion means "this is against my religion, so I can't do that. Please respect that." Not "this is against my religion, so you can't do that, and you have to deal with it."
Sierra Baker your excuse of freedom of religion doesnt give you the patheic excuse to justify this conversion therapy. Nor does it take away SERIOUS PSYCHOLOGICAL TORTURE these people have to go through. I will not and i repeat i will not hear this type of foolish excuse for something that is so hurtful in my perspective.

I'm on your side but a big misconception of the bible is that there is only one line or verse that refers to homosexuality being a sin when that is not the case - unfortunately for us there are plenty verses referring to being gay in the bible so even if the line in leviticus that everyone refers to is horribly translated, the others are as clear as day when it comes to their message. I'm only sharing this so that us as a community can appear more educated on the matter, especially when it come to facing homophobic individuals. The last thing we want to do is to appear as uneducated and therefore 'stupid as well as sinful'. Please politely correct any comment or posts that mention there is only one line in the bible that refers to homosexuality so we can be more knowledgeable on the matter. This is coming from an ex catholic that had her fair share of homophobic sermons to sit through so hopefully this informs some of you
Because there are some homophobes who are actually gay but they hate it and try to ignore it, and they also reflect their self Hating on other gays, but they eventually end up coming out themselves.
Because these conversion therapy places are not run by people who really believe the words of the Bible. They do it for the money and worldly gains just as their ancestors used the Bible to profit from slavery, etc.
Or hopefully by the time we've grown, it will be fully illegal to create conversion camps and you won't have to disguise it! I kind of want to be someone fighting in court for our rights to be solidified.
Winged Coco can you explain what you mean without quotation marks? This person wants to do something good when they are old enough to do so, why do you feel they are just obsessed?
people in the comments being like "omg they just skated past him saying he was raped" and "are we just ignoring how he said he was raped?". like, what did you want him to do then? he doesn't owe anyone a detailed description of his assault, he can talk about it as much or as little as he wants. it's his trauma. and in this video he's talking about conversion therapy so that's what he was focusing on.
I agree with you. I get a lot of people who get mad at others (I am active in the mental health community and have come across multiple rape victims) for not explaining their rape in detail. It always drives me insane when people demand to know this, as it’s not their right, or their concern at times, to have this trauma explained to them. I even know someone who was being yelled at by their parents for explaining their rape to their doctor instead of them, and basically demanded the whole story as “it’s their rights as parents.” Long comment short, I completely agree with you, and it’s not appropriate to pressure anyone into talking about trauma they don’t want to.
I had a lgbt friend and in Washington state the laws DO prevent conversion therapy but instead his parents just sent him to Russia and it broke my heart to hear him tell everyone he was being sent to a conversion camp in Russia over the entire summer and he was GRATEFUL that they didn’t use electro shocks. GRATEFUL is NOT the response kids should be having when told they won’t be electrocuted and yet.
Conversion camp in Russia? Really? What’s it called? Or is it just by stating that it’s in Russia that you strike fear into people’s hearts and minds. I looked online, there’s no mention of such camps, maybe i missed it, please enlighten me with at least one website. Thanks.

In high school, I tried to take my life because my family and peers didn't accept my sexuality. I dated boys and let them have their way with me because I thought it was "normal," like my relatives always told me it was. I was in a dark place. Three years later from that day, I am now marrying the love of my life, a beautiful and charming woman who's been by my side since day one. She's my soulmate, and I'm so proud to call her my soon to be wife. I never thought I could experience this love and happiness. With that being said, believe me, it gets better! You will find happiness, love and acceptance. God loves you so very much and your love is not in any way disgusting or abnormal. My uncle came out as gay after marrying my aunt. He admitted that he was pressured by his family into marrying her as she is "smart and beautiful with good cultural values" but he never could fall in love with her. He was suicidal for a long period during which he desperately tried to hide his sexual orientation from her. He was a fraid that he would be judged and hated. When he finally broke down,my aunt told him that she'd always known that as he always seemed different. They peacefully divorced without my aunt or her side of the family passing one word of ridicule towards him. His family however made him go through hell. After 25 years of living a lie he finally found his first best friend, support and match maker in his ex wife. Our country is still not very accepting when it comes to homosexual relationships and he once admitted to me that he lives in constant fear of being judged or tricked by someone in the name of love and falling hopelessly in "barren fruitless love" and...dying alone, that was one reason why he married my aunt because he did not want to be alone. In a world where people are judgemental idiots who just can't mind their own business, the least a parent can do is stand next to their own child and give them strength so they don't have to live in a a silhouette of their being. Forcing them to become someone they are not in the fear of society,i dont think that is human. Thats all
Texas needs it. In Houston there’s a whole street (Montrose) that is known for being “pride street” or something. But it’s very Southern, meaning it’s very Christian.
Divorce is immensely damaging to children. Divorce rates are extremely high right now, resulting in kids who grow up without one of thier parents whcih they both need. We would be so much better of if we would just listen to God.

It can happen! It’s just so sad that change often only comes after terrible harm has been done. My hope is for a future where nobody ever needs to learn that unconditional love is, by definition, unconditional.
That’s like me, a heterosexual, imagining to be with the same sex. I can’t imagine myself being with a female (it makes me feel very uncomfortable.) I’m pretty sure those people in “therapy” felt the same or close to that about the idea of being straight. It’s not a choice to be uncomfortable dating the same or opposite sex.

Why ruin all of that because some text says that for some reason this specific group of people who are a bit different from the norm but arent hurting anyone, are bad? Do you realize how much misery and death all of this nonsense has caused, and for what? Why would you even want to serve a god that makes rules that make other peoples lives more miserable because they were born a certain way? I dont believe in god but if I did, I would be sure that people like you would not be the ones going to heaven.
@@eemeli224 Life is not all about our happiness. Our lives are meant to bring God glory. Sin does not glorify God. God gave us the commandments to show us our sinfulness, not to ruin our lives and make us miserable.
@@ironman2326 But why would you even want to serve a god that defines something that doesnt hurt others and you cant even choose, as a sin? The whole point of christianity is to treat people well and spread love despite our differences. Not accepting homosexuality is completely contradictory to the whole idea. Youre blindly following the old writings of a few people who claim to be spreading the word of god and completely ignore the contradictions and just because the bible says so, youre willing to spread an extremely harmful and frankly disgusting ideology that has driven millions of people to suicide and depression because they havent been accepted for something they cant help and isnt inherently doing any harm to others. If there is a truly good god out there, you are not going to heaven.
Bel Sheahan I think it was a quote where he was hungry so he went to to a fig tree. But when he saw that the figs weren’t ripe,he got mad and made it so that the fig tree will never be ripe for the rest of eternity.
When I became old enough to understand about love and relationships and sex , I thought homosexuality is abnormal and girls need to have a boyfriend and a husband not a girlfriend or a wife . But then one of my friends came out as gay and I wasn't hating or anything but I felt uncomfortable but as time passed and watching her falling in love and being happy going on dates and building a relationship , I felt ashamed of my earlier opinion about homosexuality. I'm from India and it's still not completely accepted in my country . But I sure hope the mindset of people change like how I changed and be more accepting .
It's starts with you. If you accept that it's not wrong than there will be people like you who will do the same. Try to *subtly* spread it throughout your community.
@@rl-fc1ry buddy dont. But seriously I do not think that you have the cognitive capacities to understand that normal and natural are very relative terms. So discussing about it being natural or unnatural depends on your interpretation. And it doesn't hurt you to let them be.
That was a beautiful of basically every argument I've every had with somebody who takes the bible as indisputable. I hope he can sleep at night in the knowledge that while what he did was wrong but now he is a good person who is an LGBTQ+ activist. Guilt and punishment is not the answer.
Lucas Mendes de Souza No, it’s not. His behavior was the result of him being told time after time that being gay is disgusting and a sin. I’ve literally tested to see if my parents are homophobic (We are Christian) and we were watching a Facebook video about some gay guy (I don’t remember) but she made fun of him.She said “He’s sick, he needs help,” And I cried that night.Because I’m bi sexual, and I can never tell her until I move out.
I'm so sorry Hun...I'm a lesbian in a very religious Christian/Catholic community and I understand your pain. My mother is very homophobic and I tested her by showing her a really sweet video of two women proposing at the same time and she was disgusted. I have yet to be fully excepted...bit my biggest piece of advice for anyone feeling this way is: don't make others happy at your expense. I boldy confessed to my mother and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. She still doesn't like to talk about it and I still hide my feelings around her, but all that matters is that I got it off my chest. Even though I didn't get approved or have to censor myself around her, I got the biggest weight off my shoulders and our relationship is still strong
I am sorry your parents view gays as "sick". You have some options: you can save your money and move out and live your truth, and when you feel stronger, you can share that you are bi, or you can join a church - such as the United Church - which has many LGBT members - where you will be accepted for who you are. It hurts so deeply to feel rejected by a family member - I have had that happen to me by my father and I"m not gay - try to remember it is their limitation and rigid adherence to principle (men especially are more likely to reject a gay son or daughter because they tend to stick to their principles above all else) - and brainwashing - as a person. One day when you feel strong enough, share your truth but make sure you have a good support system in place when you do. If you choose not to come out to your parents, but live your life away from the home, that is your choice. Whatever your decision, I'm wishing you strength and peace. Keep in mind that their lack of love for a person being gay is not your limitation - but theirs.
Man... here we are in almost 2020 and I can't believe this is still a thing!! It's just depressing when you put it in perspective, how we have all these amazing advancements in technology, yet we as humans still have a long way to go when learning to accept one another.

The funniest part is that Homosexuality was a common practice in ancient times. It wasn’t until the Church started to crack down on everyone’s way of life did people begin to believe it a sin. What was white was white and what was black was bad and so on and so forth when In reality we are all beautiful in our own way. Whether we be black, white, green, or polka dot. Despite what people who think being gay is disgusting think, it’s even more so disgusting to believe that it’s okay or even acceptable to harm someone to change them.
Gay people have always existed of course, but the church is NOT the first organization to persecute them. An ancient state or religion will stamp down anything that doesn't contribute to the agricultural agenda. Therefore misogyny was necessary, to create breeding out of half the human race (and turn them into property), and as a subset of misogyny you get homophobia (and they became so ingrained in society people didn't question their purpose); homosexuality is threatening both because it is perceived to be men being feminine and because they might not have children. Same goes for lesbianism, women breaking gender roles was and still is very distressing to a lot of people. Some Ancient Greek men may have been diddling teenage boys, but that doesn't mean the state didn't have convenient laws in place that said they could try someone for sodomy.

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. If you care to have theological debates with them here is one of many resources that explains that the Bible was mistranslated and misinterpreted to be against homosexuality. wouldjesusdiscriminate.org You may not be able to change their minds, but maybe you could offer a way for others that are struggling to reconcile their faith and sexuality to live in peace. The homophobes have the right to believe how they want, but so do we, and our beliefs are just as valid and valuable as theirs. Stand tall, be proud of your uniqueness, and live fiercely. Peace to you.
@Bam Vill The resource offers love, validity, and acceptance through studies into the Bibles translations and interpretations. I only intend and hope for people to use it to come to peace with how they feel while many homophobes use their religion as a weapon against us. It will touch on how Leviticus was mistranslated, why the story of Sodom and Gamorrah was not about gay people, how David loved Jonathan more than women, when Jesus affirmed a gay couple, how Ruth and Naomi loved each other like Adam loved Eve, what Jesus said about God making gay people as they are, and more. There are also other sites that talk about acceptance and tolerance within Christianity for homosexuals if you are interested in looking. I hope that helps and that you all don't need it to argue with others, but in case you do or if you need it to understand your sexuality through your faith then I am happy it is there. Have a great day!
EXACTLY. the Bible is like a giant game of telephone, or like when you put a phrase through google translate 50 times and the meaning completely changes. glad to find another smart person in the comments
Leviticus says as quoted in HEBREW, the language of the old testament, "וְאֶת-זָכָר--לֹא תִשְׁכַּב, מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה: תּוֹעֵבָה, הִוא." Which translates to, Thy shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination. If one were to directly translate from Hebrew, it would mean the exact same thing. ואת-And with זכר-- - --A man לא תשכב- You shall not lie , משכבי אישה-, As with a woman :תועבה הוא-: It's an abomination And with a man-- you shall not lie, as with a woman: It is an abomination. Do not twist the word of G-d to help to ur agenda. P. S. You may ask, "how do you know that this isnt false as the bible may have changed after being re written?" Well if you read any Torah it will say the same exact thing because in Judaism it is forbidden to change the wording of The Torah. If one letter is unreasonable or missing it becomes 'unkosher'. A torah, a copy and paste of the old testament in its original language, would say the exact same thing as every other single torah. If you found a Torah from 1000 years ago it would say the exact same thing as a modern Torah. And plus modern bibles are basically a direct translation from hebrew and greek. A rabbi could read a Christian book on the old testament while not even noticing it is the 'Christian take' on the old testament. A priest could read a book from A jewish book store on the Torah (old testament) while not even knowing that it was the 'Jewish take on the old testament'.

@@lloroshastar6347 I meant lesbian (oops)
There’s homosexual behavior in over 1,500 species yet homophobia in only 1. That alone says a lot about us humans
yeah...
Same as how I can say 1 specie: Human, which has 7+ billion in population.)
"The Roman Catholic CHURCH believed that the Sun and Moon orbited the Earth, not the CHURCH." Not a good construction of sentence so, we'll disregard this one because you explicitly say Roman Catholic Church.

If she doesn't accept you, then she doesn't love you as a mother. Afterwards, it's time to let her go if that's what it takes.
I'm not crying your crying, shutup.
Alright save your money look for a safehouse and if your parents put thier hands on you go to the police and do not move

What was white was white and what was black was bad and so on and so forth when In reality we are all beautiful in our own way. Whether we be black, white, green, or polka dot. I- i found it, after all this time *finally someone that actually speaks some truth for once*
You know what's funny, the King James who made NKJV, the supposedly most accurate version of the Bible wasnt even straight 🙄
But the Church does also play a big part in all of this too
Gay people have always existed of course, but the church is NOT the first organization to persecute them.

You may not be able to change their minds, but maybe you could offer a way for others that are struggling to reconcile their faith and sexuality to live in peace.
Leviticus says as quoted in HEBREW, the language of the old testament,
"וְאֶת-זָכָר--לֹא תִשְׁכַּב, מִשְׁכְּבֵי אִשָּׁה: תּוֹעֵבָה, הִוא."
Which translates to,
Thy shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.
If one were to directly translate from Hebrew, it would mean the exact same thing.
ואת-And with
זכר-- - --A man
לא תשכב- You shall not lie
, משכבי אישה-, As with a woman
:תועבה הוא-: It's an abomination
And with a man-- you shall not lie, as with a woman: It is an abomination.
Boi Sodom and Gomorrah like he literally destroyed a whole city because dudes wanting to sleep with other guys

I'm just lucky that I'm not one of the broken ones
Wolfen LostSoul I hope you can achieve this one day; you could make a real change in these people's lives.
I promise if I become president in the future I will make it illegal to discriminate against ANY part of the LGBTQ+ community in all states
Yah they need clean sheets after there done with each other.
Wolfen LostSoul that's an amazing dream. I would love to be there honestly
The amount of respectful and supportive comments made my day, I expected some horrible support for conversion therapy but, instead, got a much better and happier result.
I really expected to see more hate and homophobia, and I'm super happy that it's overwhelmingly positive.
When u realize conversation therapy is legal for minors in your state.
Me: “mom we gotta move.”
Conversation therapy is good!! :D :)
@@dopeblacktherapist ??
Read the words :)
Kristen Scott explain why it’s good????
klemonté because you get to talk thru your problems with a trained therapist. People, read his word lol. He wrote conversation not conversion and I’m joking with the easily made typo.
*Jesus told me to love everyone..I just took it a little more literally than most😂*

@@captainlazyartist2038 if you put a baby in a non Christian country what are the odds of them being Christian?
And there are many gay people in Christian communities.

YES! Finally somebody that gets it!!!!!
@@lilyjo1773 that's not the point, the point is being Christian is not part of your DNA. You are taught things about a particular religion. Unlike human sexuality.
Imagine being homophobic in 2020😂
Literally my entire family is 😔
@@yellowdiamond5403 your parents are homophobic? if you say yes i be sorry for you. :(
Yellow Diamond Tell those Neanderthals to step out of the cave. It’s 2020.

Wayne King lmao I was confused for a second but then I realized this was a Steven universe reference lol
EDIT: Every homophobic politician should watch this. Mike Pence - we're looking at you...
PS: I know Pence didn't endorse this form of therapy. I'm simply stating that he's homophobic (i.e. anti-gay/ disapproving of gay people -- not "scared of" them lol)
PPS: Why are you Pence supporters watching a gay-themed video in the first place? 😂 😂😂
truuuuue
Tom M haha I’m crying 😭 but imagine tho if he did?
I LOVE UR PROFILE PIC
Pence will have to ask for mother’s approval.
Tele Vizion I’m a republican and not homophobic .
To all the kids struggling out there living in homophobic religious families, hang on. It will get better as you get older. God loves you all and you are NOT going to hell. You are perfect the way you are.
Hugs ❤ 🌈❤
pumpkinmoon they are going to hell
So from a biblical perspective sin is sin being “gay” is no worse than lieing or judging so really all the Christians who do either of those things would be going to “hell” as well. But they’re not. So people can’t say gays are going to hell and I completely agree with what you said
@@dzeez7394 great, send him the location address. Make sure he goes to the Christian hell, otherwise he'll end up in the Hindu's one.
You had me up until the fairytale part. God is as real as Santa Claus. Otherwise, everything else is correct!
@@dzeez7394 They're not going to Hell. YOU are.
you cant force people to convert to anything.
You also can't force your acceptance on others but look how well that's turning out.

Castiel Null
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!
Castiel Null true.
If someone really wants to follow God they’ll treat homosexual desires like other unwanted thoughts. It’s a choice on whether someone wants to act on those thoughts, and what their priorities are. Nobody can force someone’s heart to be in one place or the other.
As a person who was previously homophobic, I would like to say I am sorry to any person who has experienced someone like my past self. Even though the people I hurt forgave me, the guilt haunts me till this day...
I was uneducated, develop a prejudice, unexposed to any person of the LGBTQ community and was being fed lies by the community I was brought up in. Parent please educate your kids! This is how I overcame my homophobic views.

I’m glad his mom changed her way of thinking but it’s so sad hearing his voice when he talks about it you can hear how much it hurt him
Parents who subject their children to this are awful, abusive parents. They should be ashamed of the lasting damage they inflict on their children.
I'm lds (forced to be lds) every time I mention my gay friends to my dad, he tells me about a story of a city being destroyed because gay people are in that city. It makes me cry so hard every time. I know god loves everyone, including LGBTQ+ people.
My dad does threaten to take me into a mental hospital because I'm friends with gay people, and he thinks I'm lesbian.
I am a demisexual biromantic, and I'm female. It hurts when people aren't supportive at all.
I'm thankful for people who are straight, who support lgbtq+. I'm happy that the mom in this video came to her senses and accepted her son. (UPDATE: I figured out my gender dysphoria's rlly bad so i corrected lots of things)
You sound like alot of things
But regardless, i support you.
I am also a member of the LDS faith. Something that always brings really bad disagreements with my family is the topic of lgbtq+ . It’s really sad to see since I do disagree with how the church preaches those things to be wrong. Know there are some that love and support you ❤️
Risotto Nero honestly, all you have to do is ask him if he chose to be straight. Sexuality is not a choice. We as humans cannot choose our preferences. We cannot choose the foods we like or dislike, we cannot choose the type of environment we like to be in, and we cannot choose who we like.
I would just like to put this out there I am Christian and straight , I have no problem with people in the LGBTQ+ community. "Christians" that say they pass no judgment and then go and be hateful to the LGBTQ+ community are not true Christians who want to spread love and peace. Please know that we do not all think this way about the LGBTQ+ community . I just want to spread love and peace to those around me. ( please be kind to all !!!)
Thank you! It's really refreshing to see such wisdom! ❤❤❤🥰
I'm bi, and I also agree that everyone should just accept and love each other! 🥰❤✊🏳️🌈
We are all human ❤😔
@Edge Rider i mean, your harassing them to be something theyre not. so pretty hateful.
