IRAN: Country and people

  • A fascinating journey of the famous traveler Valery Shanin and his friends on Iran in the framework of the project "World without visas". Iran is a unique country. In the opinion of UNESCO specialists it is included in the list of three countries with the wealthiest cultural and historical heritage. And at the same time it is not included in TOP 100 on number of tourists. The reason is evident - image of “country of evil”. But one may reject prejudices and look at Iran with his own eyes.

I enjoy my time when I'm there with my loved ones. Sanctions suck and indeed I see the disparity between classes. But I still love Iran and it's people. Nothing lasts forever. But again I understand where most people are coming from cause I can go and visit as I please and leave. I do understand the plight of those that don't have an easy choice.

+Ithila I dont get you, one second you are taking down and the next wanting to travel there.. Jewish people are welcomed there. There are more Jewish sites in Iran than in Israel itself. I believe the count is near 55k or so. They live in peace with the non Jewish people. There are many places to visit as a Jewish person in regards to Jewish history. Please do not be quick to judge a nation based on what people say, no matter how many. Some things you have to see for yourself. I hope you do visit and leave with a better mind set than what has been said to you.

Great video, two flaws though. I understand you have an accent speaking English, it's not very much but when you talk fast (which you do most of the video) it's almost impossible to understand the sentence. Second criticism, the subtitles were too large, covered most of the screen and stayed for too long. Well done otherwise, hope you enjoyed my country!

That is the question for most Iranian, then we have the 3 miljon Afgani refuges and the 2½ miljon Iraki refuges who regime use to put real people of Iran down.....

Why are East Europeans so obsessed biblical texts? I had a couple of them (a Hungarian and a Romanian) as classmates who were imterested in Sousa and Hamedan due to biblical references to Esther and Mordekhai!

Not in all Iranian buses women at the back , in road buses women can sit every place and every seat front or back , Also in "BRT buses" in Tehran women always sit at the front of the bus not at the back .
