"Equal" does not mean "the same"
We all remember from maths, that
3+6=4+5 is equal, but not the same.
Men and women ARE intrinsically equal in value. That doesn't mean they are the same, and that's okay

We need feminism though, because the feminine side has been damaged, it has been seen as weaker, it has been oppressed. In patriarchy the masculine has ruled and that is why the world is so imbalanced, which also neglects the men. Masculinity is mistaken for lack of emotionally, lack of communication, violence, etc. In practice human rights still mean men rights and that's why we talk about women's rights. When we overcome this injustices, when we stop expecting women to be the caretakers, when women stop being hurt and killed by men and treated as an object, when we value women's work and let them be the bosses of their own bodies, etc. We will be able to truly talk about human rights for all.

I would say dont see the west as an enemy or as a bad, there is many wrong things indeed, the way gender equality is being presented is one of those for sure, and many people are turning to the east to learn.
But I think the healthy actitude is not to see a whole part of the world as wrong but to learn from each other and come together.
I hundred per cent agree with Sadhguru. I just dont believe in this west and east separation or kind of competition.
Its equaly wrong to me to worship the west than to fight it or completely refuse everything from there.

I think giving special importance to women rights is because , the basic human rights are taken away more from women than men.
    I guess so
I mean it's not always women though
    Oh it's girls.also
A small new born girl child is thrown in garbage , even if she grows she's thought to be a burden to family . Her menstruation is thought to be impure.
But women don't need rights to dominate man . She doesn't have to get allowance by man when divorced if she's at fault in the divorce.

I am so glad Sadhguru is here for all of us. His perspectives are paradigm shift and it forces us to to revisit our our old patterns of thinking and influence of West on us.
Few thoughts to mingle upon -
    1) Equal Opportunity is necessary but let Women decide what is their idea of Success is.
    2) We will have to ensure that there is no horrendous forms of discrimination but throwing the Baby with Bathwater is also not acceptable. The feminine needs to be blossomed and WE must see Humans as Humans.

I adore him, and I agree with most of what he said. He has helped me through so much in my life. But, in this aspect I feel like he is missing the fact that women have been suppressed for hundreds of years. Even to this day. All over the world. I understand the human rights. But saying women's rights is to acknowledge the fact that we have been suppressed. I live in North America, and here there is a movement called Black lives matter. People get upset when they hear this and say "all lives matter". Yes all lives do matter, but they are missing the point of acknowledging the fact that Black American's have undergone tremendous suppression, even today. There is still segregation it's just called something different. There are still groups of people dedicated to controlling and suppressing Black American's, but they are not called white supremacists anymore. It's not to say just black lives matter it's to recognize that they are suppressed. And no other race in America has been treated so horribly than the Black Americans. And women all over the world have gone through similar suppression. Like women in India who still have to go to menstrual huts and not being able to get proper sanitary items to help them with something they can't control. Women who have been tricked into getting rid of their uterus so that way they can be more efficient workers. Yes life is precious and we should be responsible for our actions. But unfortunately people with the most power dedicate themselves to suppressing people who they think are less than them. And that's why rights movements are so important. So yes we should still speak about women's rights until women are no longer suppressed. I still do appreciate what he is saying though, at least my perspective of what I heard. I do appreciate Sadhguru. Thank you.

    • @omkar056
      @omkar056 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

you can write 3-4 pages more disagreeing about what he've said but if you think properly about the suggestion he gave then you'll realize that there won't be any need left to think about women's right and everyone will be treated as equal and with respect. Unlike you, I'm not a big fan of Sadhguru and also for me my mom is my Idol instead of my dad so I know what women empowerment exactly is. In this case, the only solution is, if we can acknowledge the differences and see everyone as a person. And Sadhguru is definitely right about the issue.
You want to fight you're free to do so, go on, no one will stop you but you'll never get a good solution for men or women out of that.

5:54 the point is acceptance, and living together in the same world sharing diversity. Since women have a history of oppression, there is nothing wrong with wanting equal rights. Necessary even. If gender is none of anybody's concern, there should be no such thing as a "man" thing. It's a human thing.

@@sumangalabhai8808 Women should suceed in their feminine but they don't...And that's the whole problem.
Sadghuru says that society forces women become masculine in order to succeed. And women do succeed more accreting masculine roles. Feminism is a term created by people like you to condemn women who are sick and tired to be in female body in this world and deny it in favor of masculinity in themselves. Feminists are women too..Feminism comes from pain which resigns in all women for millenniums.. Stop harassing them. Understand! And even if a woman chooses to be masculine who are you to judge? For some reason you accept gays easier than women in their masculine...😀 No matter what, no matter what !! you will try to spoile wellbeing of women in this dark patriarchal age..

Women and men in general today have almost equal opportunities or salaries. It's just because when women starts being a full time mother, the gap in wage widens. Men as usual will do the work, thus having more chance of promotion and women stays at home taking care of children. Sometimes statistics doesn't tell the whole story.

If you are doing your best to contribute to the company but still they rejected your return, they don't deserve your service. It's their loss. Anyway, I disagree that women are more responsible than men, it can be either way. What's more real is that men in general takes more risky decisions/tasks. Women are more gentler in handling situations. Both role is as important.
