Journey before Perry was a totally different band and in my opinion, just as amazing in their own rite. With Perry, Journey just blasted through the stratosphere. There is no better male vocalist out there. After Perry, they just found similar sounding copycats and played Steve's hits. It's that simple.

@@msbolan you are right! Journey is amazing every single one of them. However Steve is in a league of his own. After Steve like you said they hired Copycats. Not to say Arnel is not great he is and he is the best that they could have gotten. However he isn’t Steve Perry great. The only reason they are selling shows like they do is because they are still doing songs that Steve helped make hits. Whose voice do you hear when the radio plays Journey songs? Steve’s , whose voice is it 90% of the time when they play to advertise a tour? Steve’s .

Great song! 40 years 🎂 Written by Jonathan Cain. He is on piano and synthesizers. He wrote songs with or for The Babys/Bad English, Sammy Hagar, Michael Bolton and Heart. When The Babys broke up and Greg Rolie retired, JC took his place.
Similar song: Heaven as performed by Bryan Adams. In that year, he opened for Journey. There is a story behind Heaven.
Neal Schon dropped out of Amador High School in San Mateo. Eric Clapton wanted him to join his band but was refused! NS joined Santana, a classic rock band from my hometown San Francisco.
He and Greg Rolie quit Santana. The 2 founded Journey. In 1987, Journey broke up. NS , JC, John Waite, Ricky Philips and Deen Castronovo founded Bad English. Greg Rolie, Ross Valory and Steve Smith founded The Storm.
Current lead singer of Journey is Arnel Pineda. He is from The Philippines.

Touring is grueling. Jump on a bus with a caravan of equipment and personnel, do a concert, jump back on the bus to another city, another state and do it again. They did this for months as a band. It made them great.

I'm not even going to mention Steve Perry's voice because there's no need because it's legendary. This is proof of why we need muscians who actually play instruments nowadays. Guitars can sound so different that just hard and wild and actually throwing piano into a rock song shows how versatile instruments can be used without the need for electronic assistance.
