    Have you considered using a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to help prevent contamination, as well as give an extra oxygen molecule to speed up growth? I learned this trick for my plants and the speeding up of growth is amazing. I read a bit on how this practice works with mushrooms too as it's the same concept. Love to hear your thoughts as I'm new but well read.
