Nice over time wrap up on your best 6 silvers. Great fun seeing the videos, to most of each find... and seeing you wig out on the Morgan dollar, again. Definitely a treat to see the build up to this post, ty JD!
Yes I Agree with Mr Martin. One of these days you may have kids that will find all this interesting and want to know where each coin came from. If you write it down then relatives and family will be able to set for hour reading about your coins. Happy Hunting JD.
You'd be surprised how recently people will still spending/circulating coins from the 1800s. I know someone that worked at a bank in the 80s and they came across coins from the 1800s on the regular.
Hv you considered getting the morgan graded? The details are ALL there and it is beautiful. Oh, you shld consider visiting the Portland, TN area. It on the Ky state line. Many Civil War battles fought here. There is even a 4ft rock wall that was built during the war that still exists in many locations stretched over many miles. Several major battles occured in this area. I believe it is a hidden gem for relic hunters and detectorists. Many abandoned and suggested haunted sites here as well.
Awesome videos JD and thank you for picking the name I suggested for your bamboo plant, love being part of your channel. Have you ever found any Gold coins ?????🇺🇸👽
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing the backstory on them. A few months ago out here in Texas my friend and I found an 1861 seated half dollar at a house that was built in the 1910's. It was super worn but an amazing experience. Gl and HH! Zach
I think you should take a trip to California and visit San Fran. They have alot of older houses mostly Victorian houses and couple of beaches and people are friendly!!
Back in the old days they paid a lot of items C.O.D. Make sure you check around the post area aka mailbox. Found some nice silver coins there. If they won't let you do the whole yard then ask for permission to hunt around mailboxes. This is usually on county property. If you have countywide permission then their you go but don't piss off the property owner.
I'm in South central VA and I found both my oldest coin 1843 large cent and my oldest silver a 1852 trime here on my property where there was a cabin at one time. The trime was found first when I pushed a stump out and drug my fingers through the dirt. Also found a VA1B militia button there which dates from 1815-1825 newest coin there 1880 Indian
I will cross my fingers that you find a CC minted coin, something I have never found, but worked for months to find one ! Great finds !! Best of luck !
he used and etrac and now mostly a t2 teknetics. Im not a long term follower but he inspires me to get out there. The t2 is better to coin shoot. But man JD found a bunch of silver with the etrac.
My oldest silvers are 1886 (AU), 1891, 1895 (all three dimes), then 1906 barber half, 1909, barber quarter, 1910 barber dime, 1911 barber quarter. Gosh, i would use safe on silver chemicals to etch off that concrete JD...don't you even want to know the mint mark....i've got to know.
Hi Jon, I would just LOVE to find a Morgan Dollar. Haven't yet ,though. It'll come with time. My best so far is a 1865 2 cent piece. That was a thrill to dig. GL & HH 57
in China they say its bad luck to have only one bamboo grass in your home, in fact it is said to be good luck to have exactly three. some say odd number will do, but that would remain neutral with no effect... GET TWO MORE !!! (group of three is called lucky bamboo) if native sells you one they are not your friend.
I know you know your coins... but, I believe that is just heavy tarnish on those 2 seated dimes from the same hill. The drainage there must just be lousy. Bad drainage plus soil mineralization or heavy ferts almost always equals heavy tarnish on the top side of the coin. You were right not to try to clean more, even if it's not concrete. You'd just lose more silver over the whole coin faces... not just the bad areas.
At the time ,the person that would of been carrying that Morgan Dollar, and lost it ,that would of been a big loss,as far as worth or purchasing power, because 1 Dollar, in that time period would of purchased quite a lot of items?
A drug addict stole mine. She knew it was silver but DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE REAL WORTH WAS OOOOO INCLUDING 4 GOLD DIAMOND RINGS. I'm so mad, I could eat that nail he found! !!
You did a really a good job collaborating on the coin video's! They were really nice finds, congrats!

JD, you should keep a short history with each coin. Someday you'll be old and gray and forgetful!

Great hunting and nice coins
Good job

Makes me want to take the day off and go MD. Awesome finds!
You can just dig anywhere? Would the owners of the property own the coins? Just curious.

Angels Haven: It's not Unc, so not worth the grading fee. But, it almost looked semi prooflike in that light at the end.
That Morgan is beautiful!
Nice, bro! I just found my first Seated quarter this morning and it is1876. Congrats on those finds!

Olivia Poppell: Start off in your own yard. Dig every signal, learn how the sounds/numbers relate to what you find. Practice digging good plugs.

Are you crying? There's no crying in metal detecting!!!! - Tom Hanks
Morgan dollar is likely a Philadelphia mint... no mint mark.
