I was using a charging cable from another Toshiba laptop which I though was identical to the one this laptop came with.
I plugged in the original cable and the laptop booted with no problem although it showed only 5% battery life.
It is now recharging with the original cable.

Yeah it's takes your to a blue screen with lots of texts, when i click one of the options it gives me, it doesn't return me to the original screen, it looks like an old computer

I've been locked out of my Toshiba laptop soon after buying it, spend innumerable hours trying various fixes. This brand is shit, I'll never buy it again.
So my computer froze on "Toshiba Leading Innovation"
What I did was
Restart, but press , i think f9
Then on the blue screen, troubleshoot, start up(on the right) and then choose safe mode (4)

i have a Toshiba Satellite L645 whose hd stopped working recently and i suspect it's because of dying PSU because i upgraded the laptop from 4GB to 8GB a few months back and the PSU is now apparently not strong enough ... (tested with 4GB RAM again, but still the same problem so i may as well be wrong about that ...)
anyhoot, therrre's no 'hard reset' button under my laptop anyway! what am i to do with that?

Hello! My toshiba laptop won't boot up. I've done everything that I possibly can to try and fix it but nothing works. It brings me to the Toshiba loading screen then turns black for a second then goes right back to the Toshiba loading screen. It's been doing this for days. Can someone please help me because I just got this laptop and I don't won't to spend more money trying to fix it.

TwoChainss YOU need to OPEN your laptop and Search for a brown swich if YOU have a newer Toshiba laptop But if you have an older model YOU need to turn it on and hold the 0 key and if YOU SEE the Toshiba logo desapear the YOU need to let the 0 key
xbass games I pressed 0 then hard drive reset show up I pressed yes and it went to black screen as always.

What happens if my lap top works correctly but after 30 min to a hour it shuts off and turns back on but stays in the configuration mode and when it go’s to close to a 100 % then it says it didn’t not update anything then re boots again?

I have a satelitte Toshiba Laptop and its definitly out of warranty, however I have all the disks, all the original papers etc. They want me to pay over 100 dollars for any assistance, which is insane considering for one how old it is, and I could put that towards a new one if I could even afford it which i cant considering i am a single mom battling cancer for the second time around now, but anyhow my meanie ex who just had to make my life even harder decided to try and ruin my laptop and since he left I have not been able to get back into it and all my stuff is saved on there, I have had a family friend who fixes computers for a living tell me its impossible without toshibas help because it is a BIOS password and I dont know how my ex did this because I have all the original stuff all the books, etc and have tried everything, and no luck, I have even followed videos on here about taking out the cards and using screwdriver to push on xx's blah blah and nothing ever worked., CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME PLEASE

Hi, I’m only getting a black screen not even the logo when starting up. I have a l655 laptop . Any suggestions ? My disc drive won’t open either when I push the open button on the tray it won’t open either . All I get is a power light but nothing else . Take care

My laptop stopped booting up a few days ago.
All I know is that the problem isn't the Hard drive but maybe the Socket where you put the HDD is.
Is there any way this can be fixed? Maybe it's replaceable yeah?
Recently in the middle of a Windows upgrade...laptop satellite c55-c5268 went out and will not come back on. Black screen with all lites on no sound. No Toshiba start screen s well.
I had the same issue, and I fixed it by unplugging and plugging back the RAM sticks!
What year is your model Mines a 2015 and I cant get it to boot even with a new windows installation
My toshiba is on the 100% loading part but it’s been at 100% for 4 hours now. It won’t move on to the flaming password screen. So annoyed

@HealMyTech. Hi there Ash, it is Ash correct. At any rate, I'm working on my x-daughter in-laws fathers Toshiba Satellite C55D-A5382 laptop. Her family's from Poland, so there's somewhat of a language barrier. So with that said, I'll start with the issues.
Laptop wouldn't even boot into windows.
I finally got it to boot into windows, so once I was able to get Windows Defender to work, I scanned it & it started to run somewhat normal, (For a Windows 8.1.) Next Issue: Since the laptop was still wanting to run slow, I looked at the battery, which wouldn't charge past 78%, so I removed the battery & the laptop actually started running better.
So today, well, actually right now as I'm typing this comment, it's running better. It's still slow but part of that issue is because Windows 8 is the OS. I'd like to install Windows 7 on it because Marek (The Owner's name) can get around 7 pretty good. So with all i said here, hopefully you are able to read my comment. As for the laptop, I'm going to do a system restore because I just found out that the whole problem started 2, maybe 3 weeks ago. There's no viruses, or malware so they downloaded something or updated a driver or whatever... Thanks for uploading your video, it does help... Good video as well Ash.

Hello my name is aj and when i reset my laptop it goes into this system clock and options and then when i click save and exit it goes to the toshiba loading screen. But when im at the loading screen it will not do anything it just stays the same. Please if you know how to fix this please help me.

I use to install a new SSD drive with Ubuntu. It first worked but sometimes used to make invite button (F12 and Suppr.) to disappear. It did come back for a while, but now I don't have them anymore and can't find a way to recover... :O

my computer is not booting up at first it was just taking a while to boot up and was just beeping i took it apart put it back together it doesnt really beep no more but its not strarting up at all i think it is because i was resetting my comp and it died in mid reset but i dont know
It is a Laptop, It turns on but nothing happens it just shows a dash (-) at the top right of the screen and it just sits there blinking then it try's to reboot it self or something and it pops up with stuff i cant read because it goes away quick only thing i seen was for me to be able to press F2 which it says at the bottom once i press that it pops up a blue box asking for current password im was guesing it meant my log in password but i typed it in and it didnt work after getting it wrong it said to press any key and the computer will halt and when that happens the screen just stays still nothing else happens i think it is becayse i went to reset my computer and while reseting my computer had died so i think thats why it messed up when booting up
also if you can help me through my problem im also a designer and that is the only computer i have that i can design on the one im using now is a chromebook and i cant do it or any of the stuff i do on this computer but if you can help me though this i could create you a proffesional banner for your youtube and start you off with a Logo to Brand your youtube
i used the windows 10 way of reseting it how it gives you the option to reset i dont know much bout computers so i dont know what you mean by what operating system i have

I have a Toshiba L55t-A5290...I fixed the Black Screen...My Toshiba has an internal Battery so that Fix won't work...So you need to let the battery die in black screen...Charge your Cell with it to speed up the process. When it dies and you cannot see any lights trying to reboot then Hold the Power Button for 30 seconds and let go...Plug in and Press Start again...Wait for the Smile.
