Bro, I was getting ready to take an online test for school and this thing wasn’t turning on. Really started panicking. Your solution fixed. God Bless good sir, thank you!!!!!!
You saved a trip to the repair shop! Thought my laptop was write off! The 2nd trick of holding down the power button for 20 seconds fixed the laptop! I am just so thankful for running into channel! May God bless you!
I was going insane-- my one-year-old hp refused to turn on. I unplugged and re-plugged every connector, checked my surge protector, everything! I was crying after 1 1/2 hours of trying. I Googled, and your video came up on top. My hp has an internal battery, so I fast-forwarded to your next step: 20 seconds, release, tap again. IT WORKED!!!!!! It's up and running-- thank you so much! God bless you! 🙏
Wouldn’t turn on, started watching video, took the screws out, computer felt threatened and turned on. I’m going to say your tutorial worked. Thank you sir
I was watching this video and going through the comments to see if it works. My laptop turned on while reading your comment. Guess it felt threatened as well.
My daughter dropped the computer yesterday and I thought that was the reason it wouldn’t turn on, but I went to TH-cam anyway for help-it worked! Thanks so much. 😊
This video saved my life. I use hp pavilion gaming. The power button was just blinking refusing to come on. Tried everything until i removed the battery, held down the power button for 20sec, then inserted the charger and pressed the power button once then pressed windows B. It came on. Thanks
Very detailed video, and well appreciated! Despite having a degree and doing repairs, I even learned a trick here. Unfortunately, none of this helped, so would have to be a system board replacement, which I might as well buy a new laptop. Thank you for the detailed video again!
I just want to say thank you! I was going to have a nervous breakdown as my laptop was fine one minute and the next min it would not turn on! Your “windows key, letter b, and power button” worked like a charm. Did have to do it a few times but it did work! Again your a life saver!
THANK YOU!!! It worked! It was fully charged (light on), but the power button was not lit up. I pushed several times without success. Following your suggestion, unplugging and holding allowed that light to go off, and once I plugged it back in, the power button lit up once again (hooray!) and then when pushed the laptop started right up. I would suggest going straight to step 2, for any having this issue, so that you don't have to deal with the battery unless you have to. Unplugging, holding the power butter 20 seconds +, plugging back in and trying to turn on, worked like a charm. I appreciate you so much.
Man, i can't believe it. I was about to give up on my new laptop that i've just bought. The second method worked for me. Thanks a lot and God bless you.
Your help saved me from spending money on a new laptop and computer repair!! I work from home and my Laptop is a necessity. Thank God for your expertise!!! I took out the big battery, held the power button for 20-30 seconds, then plugged in the power cord and pressed the power button and it turned on and is working better than it did with the battery in. I couldn't believe it. I have a 2012 HP Pavilion Touch Smart laptop. Thanks again!!
Echoing all the comments below, you’re a great help! The tutorial was clear & easy to follow, it literally saved my blue Monday morning when my HP laptop refused to wake up. Thanks!!!
Hi. My hp laptop is not turning on, and I am not able to open the back to try your suggestions. I have unscrewed it, but still no luck. Please, how do I open it?
Thanks. I tried all of your troubleshooting steps , finally I got the laptop to start up. Another thing I did was to ensure the power cable was inserted securely.
The wife's HP notebook died. I didn't want to buy a new as hers is not that old. So I found your instructions. It was a bad battery. Removed it & the notebook lives, again! Thank you, thank you, and thank you!
I don't really know which of your steps worked for me, but I did this: unpluged, 20 sec push start (on), nothing, plug again then windows & B key pressed and voila blinked and start directly to normal screen, no diagnostics screen. after like 3 minutes and complete work after like 10 minutes, thanks man
Hi and thank you for sharing. I like the way you speak without repeating yourself. Well I tried. Mine is a ASUS laptop. The light stays on. Could it be cause I had it plugged in all night?
All praise goes to you, was panicking cuz I thought it was a charger not working issue at first but turned out to be my laptop being weird. Your solution worked, no longer panicking. Had a chromebook do the exact same thing to me and no matter what I did, it would not turn on, so was a bit skeptical at first, but thank you so much for helping.
You just saved my life! My computer wouldn't turn on and i was scared to tell my mom I couldn't fix it but then after doing what you said it started working. THANK U Your a life saver!
Nev, thank you! Your tech tips worked successfully with my HP Envy Bang & Olufsen (March 2023). It was necessary to go through your recommended steps from power chord to windows plus B, then power. It definitely took 2 minutes to RE-boot/reset itself. Thank you!
Man you just saved my life, you have no idea. Your video was the only thing that helped me get my Pavilion on! I’ve been on the message boards all afternoon and nothing until this walkthrough. Thank you!!
@@NevsTechBits bro, I have HP envy 3d 17 inches laptop. Bcz of not using for 1-2yr, its display got moisture from inside. Now, laptop is turning on, keys light are on, but screen is black.
My PC didn't come on today, and I stumbled on your video. The battery is inside so I couldn't remove it. So i tried the windows b button. Now it is on. You saved me!!! ❤
One night I close my n16p5’s lid and after 24 hours I lift it back up. Black screen. “The battery must have drained”, I thought. So I plug it in and still nothing. Thank you so much for these tips! I was worried because I needed to finish up an assignment for school and my laptop was just not powering up. The second tip worked great!

Yes, Thank You! I had opened up my HP laptop (Elitebook) to check the ram chips. I noticed the power light. When I put it back together, the light was still on, nothing on the screen, and I couldn't shut the laptop off. I watched a bunch of videos. Yours was the only one the mentioned the 20 second trick! That did it! I'm back in business!
Thank you for the post, The option of pressing Window key and (B) then power button partially worked. It powered on with power light and volume indicator on and I hear the fan running but screen is still black and nothing else is happening. Any thoughts?
This is a godsend! I tried everything after I did a factory reset on my laptop and only when I press the Windows button and the "B" key simultaneously did it come back on, thank you so much!
My Laptop has been acting up lately, But whenever I play this video on my phone for a troubleshooting guide. It magically turns on normally lol, what kind of blessing did you put on this video
Excellent work. You got to the point and provided a recap at the end of your video which is HUGE. Trust me this is VERY HIGH PRAISE coming from me you have no idea.
This is very helpful I used the "windows" +"B" before and it eventually worked but I'm doing it again cause it went off again. Question is based off ur tutorial do u put the battery back in at any point because u don't specify that part
omg I went 2 months without my laptop and people from school that I’d move away from thought that I DIED and only now I can actually talk to them, this video is a serious life saver man
You saved my laptop! I tried the Microsoft window-B-power button fix. It worked. Had to do it twice but the bios screen came on. Went through step up and bingo it worked. It took about 20 seconds for the bios to pop up. Going to back up everything right now. Been procrastinating to do that. My laptop is an HP Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1065G7 CPU @ 1.3 GHZ 1.50GHZ. 64 Bit operating system. X64-based processor Bought it in 2020. HP ENVY 17 Pen with 10 touch points. Again thanks for the save! Hopefully my information will help others.
Just walked into work after being off for two weeks.... I Google and your web page popped up! Thank You! Holding down the power bottom for 15 to 20 seconds did the job for me. P. S. HP Elitebook
You're a lifesaver. I used a lot of laptop from bunch of vendors, but never had this problem. Literally for no reason current laptop from HP ProBook G445 G7 won't turn on cuz, and I wouldn't have ever in a million years thought of holding Power button for 20sec and then press it again, worked like a charm🙇♂️
My last HP needed to have its motherboard replaced, Hp sent me a replacement laptop. When it didn't want to turn on this morning my stress levels went up! I didn't want to go through that again, especially with school a week away!!! Your advice helped (pressing windows +B + control button). Thank you so much!
I have an HP Chromebook that’s a year old. The press and hold for 20 seconds, then try again in a bit worked for me. We’ll see if of stays happy. Thank you!!
I just want to say thank you so so much for this. The second step helped me. I am so relieved that I don't have to go to the repair shop or get a new one because I just got this laptop.
My laptop is like 6 to 7 years old and like now it works a little bit slow but I had problems turning on my laptop like sometimes I had to press its power button hardly but sometimes i had to press it softly and sometimes very hardly and then it would turn on, but one day I pressed the button at different levels it didn't turn on then I did many tricks on it like pulling out its battery and plugging in charger and then starting it but it still didn't start i was really worried about my laptop and then i just saw ur video and i tried that windows and b button trick it really worked my laptop turned on but its screen was still black i waited 5 minutes but still didn't turn on then i closed it and pulled out its battery again and then I tried to open it with its power button and it actually turned on!! I was really happy that ur trick kinda worked thanks very much
My HP Envy doesn’t have a battery that pulls out of the laptop, but unplugging the computer and holding the power button down for 20 seconds reset the computer and it turned on. Thanks for posting this video!
I work from home and my work laptop just shut off wouldn’t turn back on, I was like omg, I do not want to go back into the office and wait for IT to take 4 weeks to fix it, I did the Windows, B, power button method, and holy moly the darn computer turned on! Thank you!!
Omg! I was in tears because an important school document I was working on was on this computer! The windows key with b key and power recommendation worked! So relieved! Thanks so much!
Thank you so much, my laptop from 7 years stopped working (black screan) 3 years ago .I tried your tricks today and it worked! Now I have access to all my childhood photos again
Thanks! Went away for the weekend and left the laptop unplugged. Came back and turned the A/C power back on and the little power light on the computer was not lit and computer would not start. Tried plugging in and out and removing and reinstalling the battery - and no success. Found this video and this time disconnected the power and removed the battery also for about 2 minutes. Reinstalled battery and plugged in AC adapter and the little power light came on and computer would now turn 'on'. Thanks!
I just did one step and it worked in the first try, i removed it from the power supply pressed the power supply for 20 seconds, waited for about a minute and then pressed the power button just once and it turned on, I'm so grateful
Thank you so much bro! I had a test that was due in 5 minutes but my laptop suddenly died. I was crying cause I didn't know what to do good thing your video showed up!😅
HP EliteBook. Holding power button for 20 seconds while it was unplugged, then plugging it in and starting it worked! I left the battery in. Can't figure out how to remove cover. Thanks so much!
Thank you Nevs, this is Santy from Philippines, i have an hp laptop CBSTTSFD 4gb Ram 64 bit Windows -11 system that wont work during start up, black screen. I tried your 20 secs turn on and still wont work. I tried your step 2 turn on button , windows screen tab + V button for certain secs and Alas!!! It worked. Thank you very much for sharing this and more power! To all your videos!
HP Elitebook 830 G5, removing the battery and using the power adapter did the trick. Thanks! And then, when I reinstalled the battery, the laptop powers on with just the battery. Ugh. Keeping an eye on this.
I have a paper due today and my HP Envy wasn't turning on. I was about to freak out but luckily I found this video. I tried holding the power button for 20 seconds first but that did not work. So, then I tried holding the power button, windows button, and B. After approximately 15 to 30 seconds it started to boot up. Thank you so much!
Thanks, holding down for 20 seconds, then tapping again worked. It rebooted twice. Took about 3 minutes to come up to a windows login. Brand New laptop too. Only 2 months old.

Did you get a solution for this? Mine is having the same problem... The fun starts but the screen shows nothing
Ya anything please share

Did not work. Mine is hp 8570p
Wow the first method worked without taking out the battery. Thank you! Any thing I can do to avoid this from happening again?

A lifesaver 🙏🏼 Work laptop wasn’t turning on all of a sudden and the 20sec power button trick did it. Still coming in clutch 3 years on, thanks man

You saved my laptop! I tried the Microsoft window-B-power button fix. It worked. Had to do it twice but the bios screen came on. Went through step up and bingo it worked. It took about 20 seconds for the bios to pop up.
Going to back up everything right now. Been procrastinating to do that.

Thank you! I removed the battery and power supply and pressed 30s on power button. Then plugged it again and now it works! 🎉
Thank you so much. Holding the power button for 20 seconds and plugged the power on. It worked. You saved my day.
My last HP needed to have its motherboard replaced, Hp sent me a replacement laptop. When it didn't want to turn on this morning my stress levels went up! I didn't want to go through that again, especially with school a week away!!! Your advice helped (pressing windows +B + control button). Thank you so much!
wasn't turning on for weeks, had absolutely no clue what was happening- watched this and it fixed it immediately. thanks!
The 20 second power button press worked for me thanks a lot. What could be the cause of that particular problem though?

Thank you so much! I used the power pressing option.
Thanks!
Many thanks. My HP stopped working - couldn't turn it on. Followed your hints. Pressing Windows and B worked. Thank you so much.
Thank you so much man!! Laptop died overnight and nothing was working until I found your vid. Cheers!! 🙏

2nd step bloody worked! Damn! I thought I am going to pay for my work laptop without even starting my job. Thank you! Lifesaver!
Windows, B and Power trick worked for me! It completed a BIOS Update and then it worked...Thank you!!!
Oh my I can’t thank you enough. The window b & start button worked for me.
Thanks for such a succinct and straight forward approach on how to trouble shoot the HP lap top that does not turn on! You made my night! God bless!
