Met Jay when I went to get my focus tuned by Fernando ( one of the best tuners out there). Jay's super humble, straightforward guy and as everyone knows EXTREMELY knowledgeable.
engines all around.. he taught me numerous things that i highly value in a short 4:24 minute video. Im actually going to go outside and check a few things on my tune....
First time here and I'm glad to see such attention to detail, Comprehensive and detailed information in regards to diagnosis is refreshing compared to other channels. Keep up the good work and Stay blessed 🤙🏾🤙🏾
Always love watching these videos with real street. Very detailed, alot of thought, research, info, patience, and care when running car & tearing down their engines. I’d love to have one of their engines.....can only dream 👍🏻
John Mihovetz took Factory cast 4.6 twin-cam Cobra engines( block and heads) into the fives in his accufab Mustang over a decade ago. Those engines made over 3000 horsepower.
I wish Jay had more time or more things to share for the Jays tech tips segment they did awhile back, felt like I could actually learn something when he did thos
I love these vids...never seen a tear down like this in a clean enviro...and the methodical approach that you have. You are so good...you make it look "sorta easy"...just take these bolts out...then loosen these studs...then...lol. It's NOT!...but these vids are very enjoyable...thanks!
I have driven a 700hp Supra before on bald 265’s. It was the most terrifying thing I have ever done. I would probably have a heart attack driving this.
Just curious, what about a shorter friction skirt on the piston? Koenigseggs run twin GT35R'ish-sized turbos and have extremely short piston skirts for less reciprocating weight and still maintain cylinder pressure with longevity over the long run and have achieved +270mph top speed which is incredibly demanding in terms of heat cycling from 200mph all the way to +270. Just something to consider if you haven't already. Also, what about installing oil squirters to spray the cylinder on the underside of the piston? Should help keep temps low, my high performance Yamaha YFZ450 has that from the factory to keep the heat down as its essentially a race-ready bike.
Interesting stuff. Id like to see more on the head gasket arrangement. Are they using underside of piston oil squirters? There is surely enuff piston crown!
Does the car have an electronic water pump? If not more rpm will also give more coolant pressure. What about running a premix in the gas for upper cylinder lubrication like on a 2 stroke.
How and where are you monitoring the coolant pressure from? I think I want to add coolant pressure to my corvette setup. Any insight on how to get good data would be appreciated.
Have you seen the new billet block they made its made from 2 J and rb30 they combine the two engine 's two make a beast you should check mate I think they said good for 2300 HP
My 2jz single turbo supras had no problems at 600-750 whp as soon as i went higher than that i blew the motor on one and the second one made a hole through the block.many people dont know whats behind a high horsepower car.and that in racing you will break parts
98% of Supra fans: 2JZ is the greatest engine EVAR! Shits on everything else! I have an erection! My dad can beat up your dad! Cold hard facts: Every impressive Supra engine only has the stock block, that's it. Crank, rods, pistons, cams, springs, valves, intake manifold, turbo, exhaust manifold, intercooler system, fuel tank, fuel rails, injectors, exhaust, oil system, ignition system, etc is all aftermarket.
Jay already knows what's going on he can visualize in his mind and by using computer sensors that's all he needs to know. Also when an engine fails theirs evidence of failure Jay uses that as a learning tool.
Jay’s attention to detail is a rare art.
Brad Viviviyal who doesn’t like watching a 700hp civic kill the streets with 3 bolts in the manifold lol
Brad Viviviyal that’s a boosted boiz reference
I can hear him talk about engines all day!
I know im not the only person who feels the same!
aliefdrumline just like papadakis

Yeah, using what Toyota initially made.
He awesome, very detailed and current on any issues that occur... That's Dr.2jz
This should be a series.
No it shouldn't .
ABSOLUTELY, I'd love to see the progress updates!
@@msengineeringdavid3148 Yes it should

Class A attention to detail from a seasoned engineer with exceptional skills. My hat is always off to these guys. Awesome Company and customer service
Jay is extremely smart.. I only hope to be at that level one day
I wonder how much he would charge to teach me all he knows about engine building and tuning
Same I’d pay to learn

6.68 and with the engine starting to fail XD that's how you know the engine was built right, I can still take some abuse even in its condition
man i like 2jz's
John Mihovetz took Factory cast 4.6 twin-cam Cobra engines( block and heads) into the fives in his accufab Mustang over a decade ago. Those engines made over 3000 horsepower.
And not one single part of this engine is Toyota LOL.
Nothing in that car is OEM Toyota.
@@chadkent1241 ok thanks for the info not sure what that has to do with what I wrote lol
Jay is a engine genius!!!! Amazing! He makes everything easy to understand
What a well suited coincident that his name is Jay
Mr 2Jay the 2JZ master 👍🏻
Loved the techtalk. MOAR PLX😌
This guy is a 2JZ master!
Jay is a master builder. Already a legend.
I love this type of stuff. Continue to do more Jay!
Jay needs to consider taking a apprentice in who has the same attention to detail to pass on what he knows.
Jay is an inspiration
I absolutely love watching your videos of tearing down the engine. Thank you
Very informative, it is amazing how he can just recall with ease, all that information fom the back of his mind.
Great video, and great discussion. Very professional and not condescending. Most people at this level will always talk down to you.
Beautiful engineering
This man is the 2jz god on baby

MajorLeague right on, wasn’t sure if they had oil squirters or not. Thanks for the heads up.
I'm a simple guy i see 6.8sec I subscribe :)

You should do a proper FULL tear down video of this engine next time, this one was a bit too hurried
TRC seems to have taken a lot of inspiration from PapadakisRacing

4.9bar... UNREAL... 😳😳😳
What was the scuff piston solution? More clearance? Because in one of your videos you said no jets

Why don’t you guys try running Evans Waterless Coolant it’s supposed to be legal. And it does not pressurize like H20
Because it's a gimmick to sucker people out of their money.

Why not run ice water?

Woah
Why not placing this engine on a spintron to see the behavior of the components in real time? This could save you time and money.

Why don't you run methanol? You won't need an intercooler because the fuel does the cooling, I'm sure you know that, so why not run methanol?
