Dammit John, I'm an engineer, not a juice fanatic! (though I hope to be.. Someday!) So I own the single auger horizontal juicer by Omega called the NC-800, and yes, it doesn't quite squeeze out the last atoms of juice, compared to a dual twin gear horizontal juicer, but as an engineer... When I take into account the price difference, versus the small pulp difference (and we all know pulp is good for you), but mainly, the "CLEANING TIME", from the Omega NC-800, with the much smaller screen (and parts), makes it a huge winner in my opinion, unless you have real scientific evidence about the magnetic core difference, that is backed up by independent researchers, and not by the product producers themselves. I really trust you, and look forward to your opinion on this subject?
Every juicer has its own set of pros and cons. Each person needs to determine their needs and select the juicer that will best meet their needs. I own both the machines you talk about but I would prefer the nc800 over the Green Star Elite due to the cleaning time, and time to use. That being said, there are times when I use the Green Star Elite as it would serve my needs better. To increase the yield in the NC800 refeed the pulp back thru a 2nd time. Although over both the above machines, I prefer the VSJ843. Recently I have been juicing over 2 gallons a day with the VSJ843 and it has worked great.
I have a Green Life twin-gear that is at least 20 years old. It will juice anything if you are willing to mix a little carrot in. By that, I mean that pineapple alone will tend to back up the chute, but a carrot cleans everything right out. I saw Jay Kordich once say to NEVER mix carrot and pineapple, so I guess he wouldn't approve but I do it anyway.
Hei again! I am looking for a juicer which makes the most nutritional juice from vegetables and greens (spinach, persille, wheat grass...). Which one do you think is best? After seeing some videos and reading summary's I am thinking about Green Star and Angel but I can't decide which is the best. You never speak about the Angel juicer, is not that one of the best juicer? Thank you for your videos. They are great.
Hey John, after watching your videos, I went and bought a green star and I love it! I was the Breville guy before. The quality of the juice I get Now is off the charts! Question though; where did you get those strainers and bowl funnels?? I want them. Thanks!!
The biggest "workout" is to clean these juicers and JSE is ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to clean. I got rid of mine thanks god. I would try the omega though i stopped juicing. I think it is unnecessary for maintaining health and juicing takes too much time to make for what you get - no matter how much you consume (yeah, with a lot of saliva, you don't really drink them) - its not a food because the fibers are almost not there so you are not satiated and you are still hungry..
It draws out the minerals in the vegetables. I was hoping you would mention that. I love my GSE! There will never be another for me. 😊
It be interesting to see you use something like the Wells Press to see which pulp had more juice left it in.
