*I had one of these before and it lasted many years and I used it a lot. It blends **MyBest.Kitchen** chops ,grates. Does most anything you would want to use it for. A lot of bang for your buck. A litlle loud however it so fast it is not bothersome.*
trust me, the Blendtec could use a plunger, can't tell you how often I've had to stop the machine because it creates an air pocket. The tamper is a good thing and less of a nuisance than not having one.
I wanted to also know if the vegetables especially really fibrous ones would liquify without adding any liquid to it ? I prefer liquifying the vege's in its own juices and not adding water or other juices. I ask because I saw you add liquid and ice. Thanks .
Nalini Maraj They may liquify depending on how much natural juice is in the vegetable. Adding some form of liquid, like coconut water, creates a smooth and drinkable texture. Avocados are also good for smoothing out recipes.
FYI: Apple seeds do in fact contain a substance that is convert into hydrogen cyanide in the intestine. The amount of cyanide that you body well get from an apple seed is quite small and can be detoxified by enzymes in your body and should be nothing to be concerned about... so long as you consume them occasionally and/or if the seeds are not chewed to release the cyanide causing substance. However, if small amounts of apple seeds are consumed often, and chewed or blended as is done in this video, the long term effects could be dangerous, causing health issues. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention states that 1-2 mg/kg is a fatal oral dose of cyanide for a 154 lbs. (70 kg) man. Which means you would have to finely chew and eat roughly 150 to 200 apple seeds, or about 20 apple cores in a short period, to receive a fatal dose. However, long term exposure to smaller amounts of cyanide, though not immediately fatal can cause Headaches, Dizziness, Rapid Breathing, Restlessness, Insomnia, Weakness or even Nausea & Vomiting and lead to heart, brain or nerve damage. Generally, small amounts of cyanide will leave your body within 24 to 72 hours after exposure... its the repeated exposure to small amounts that is of concern here. It would be wise to core your applies before adding them to your blender for consumption. The potential health risks greatly outweighs any possible health benefit. 19 minutes of blab & a little bit of blending. We got exactly three things out of this video...THREE 1) Got to see the parts of each model (kinda). 2) Got to watch the Blendtec [literally] beat the smoothie contents to pulp as it tried to walk across the counter and required a hand on top to still the beast...not juice...pulp. 3) Got one truly useful comment/opinion out of this "comparison." "The Blendtec smoothie is a bit pulpy with some fiber in it..." Thank you, I remain a Vitamix fan!
mlltij6home I agree. All these TH-camrs do too much. Bla bla bla at the beginning of their videos. Many times I check out. Hmm. I should make info You Tube videos.
Ok people, you don't NEED to use the tamper all the time. MOSTLY I only use mine for small amounts of dry ingredients, nut butters, and frozen deserts. And, in those cases, the vitamix dominates the blendtec because the blendtec needs a tamper for these functions. Otherwise you're constantly turning it off, taking the lid off, pushing things back down, rinse and repeat. I almost NEVER use the tamper for smoothies. And, if I do, I just use it really quickly to break up some packed ingredients. Not to mention the vitamix is built much more strongly. Analog controls will last longer than digital. Blendtec is great especially in a juice bar situation because of the presets. However vitamix is better for the home because it functions in more ways.
Great review, very informative! We just purchased the Blendtec 625 tonight, and we're very excited about the options ahead. We had to retire the Ninja after seeing the Blendtec. We went in looking for the Vitamix, and walk out with the Blendtec Designer 625. With a 20% off coupon at Bath Body and Beyond, and a smaller container added in for free, we walk out at a little over $400.00. It's great times ahead! Again, great review...thanks for helping me make the decision!
luv luv luv the vitamix.. having the tamper is really helpful. It also has pre settings like a soup setting that will run by itself for five minutes and then shut off when it's hot. Also has a smoothie and frozen desert setting. You can use it the other way if you want to control the power yourself. Really amazing stuff. We use it every single day. worth every penny
Victoria Blank You need a tamper when blending whole fruits and vegetables. It’s a great combo with the vitamix to be able to tamp down your ingredients while blending. All blenders cheap or expensive should come with a tamper like the Vitamix
i got mine at costco 'my blendtec' about 14 months ago for 400 dollars and some change don't remember exactly it comes with 8 year warranty, no problems so far and we use it every day i'm glad i when with the blendtec instead of the vitamix i love my blendtec you just push a button and your done and i know the vitamix works great too but blendtec it's easier to use and to clean
+chakaloso78 Yes, I am also glad I chose Blendtec. I would find it annoying having to use that plunger apparatus with the Vitamix. Blendtec just does it, it just BLENDS on its own!
+Willistead Park I use my Vitamix every day, several times a day, and never use the plunger. I've found it's for ice cream, which I'd be interested to see how the Blendtec handles. If I throw in frozen fruit (they sell it in a bag in the freezer aisle) and ice, then hit it on blend, it'll turn it into ice cream, and the stuff gets frozen in the blender, so I've used the plunger thing then...but I don't see physically how you could do it with the Blendtec without a plunger. It freezes in the middle of the container and is suspended above the blades.
I was thinking on buying the Vitamix, but after this video, the blendtec caught my attention! Looks like it did a pretty good job, and no plunger tool .. Hmm... Decisions .. Decisions...
I have both a Vitamix and a Blendtec Designer Series. I'm selling the Blendtec. Vitamix does more and does it better, plus the quality of the blender jug and bearing on the Vitamix is way more durable. Blendtec will leak in time. Not saying Blendtec isn't a good machine because it is. I just think that the Vitamix is better for me.
You didn't find not having a tamper for the Noendtrc a? Besides there bring more fibres? Do you think it's because the Blue no ftev has a more powerful motor made up for not having a tamper??
I currently use a Blendtec for all my main blending. I just recently bought a Vitamix 5200 for an acai superbowl. The Blendtec will throw it to the side and not do it's job properly. That is also the sole reason I bought the vitamix. Specifically for the Acai super bowl.
Your end result for vitamin looked very good, but it seemed a little iffy to get get started. Didn’t seem to tackle those ingredients how I thought it would or how I’ve seen in other videos 🧐
I have the 750 Pro. I make my green smoothie every morning to drink on my way to work. The smoothie timer isn’t long enough. I run another 20 sec. longer to get a better blend.
The Vitamix is much quieter, has a stronger motor and is so simple to use compared to the not-user-friendly Total Blender Classic, which has these ridiculously complex "Programs" that I never used during the entire time that I owned it. I also had to replace the jar (very expensive) because it had rust inside the base of the blade assembly, which was supposed to be a sealed unit (how moisture got inside, I have no idea). Finally, very poor customer service at Blendtec, when I had to replace the jar (it was out of warranty, even though it was obviously a defect). Buy a Vitamix instead! I love my Vitamix! It is the best blender in the world, hands down
What are the stainless steel bowls you have to your right on the counter? They have plants in them that you planted. I do want to plant my own herbs and vegetables and need a wide open top like that.
Hi Jean Wang, planting your own herbs and vegetables is a great idea! Those are simple mixing bowls. It's a nesting set which makes them very handy for storage. Something like these bowls on Amazon would work: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00408FUV2/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00408FUV2&linkCode=as2&tag=dg092-20&linkId=55SYYZJBBY4YPNSK
hi there, I went to blendtec website and I saw their blendtec designer series has 4 LED icon light buttons (smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and soup). instead of 6 icon buttons(BATTER, ICE CRUSH, smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and soup). my question is are these 2 blender are the same blender or they one is newer design/more powerful than the other. Thank you!
Hi, Steve! Great question! Blendtec's new Designer Series 625 does have the four buttons you mentioned. The Designer 625 is here: goo.gl/yw7lJe The original designer series has six preprogrammed functions. It is now only available from Blendtec as certified refurbished. The original Designer Series is here: goo.gl/2G9Zby Blendtec claims the new Designer Series has their four most popular blend functions mapped to buttons. Meanwhile, the pulse and slider allow for greater control to carry out functions like ice crushing. I say save $100 and go for the certified refurbished with six buttons. It's a great deal when they are actually in stock!
Doesn't apple seeds contain cyanide? The if you eat them plain, the coating of the seed protects you from it but if you were to pulverize them in a blender you would release it.
+DJ IceCream Yea I was wondering about that. Currently using a Nutribullet and they caution against using apple seeds in recipes because they release cyanide lol. He probably doesn't know.
+DJ IceCream A small amount that the human body can handle. In order to get a harmful amount of cyanide from apple seeds you would need to consume an obscene amount of seeds. That said, you should probably remove the seeds as they do contain the toxin.
Marathonracer It's not cyanide. That is like saying salt is chloride. No it was not falsely sold as a phony cancer treatment nor is it completely discredited. I am not well versed in cancer and it's treatments but I do know Dr Gary Gordon a world renowned expert recommends it. He teaches over 5000 doctors in his org. Literally writes the books and protocols for medical treatments for the government. Has led many health org, and heavy metal clinics around the world. Along with formulating products used in cancer clinics all over the world especially Europe. If there is one doctor who knows his shit and I would trust it would be him. Also laetrile is the patented form. It's called amygdalin. Which is not cyanide. It is used in IV treatments because orally it breaks down to hydrogen cyanide through enzymatic processes I believe. B17 is what it is known as. Whether it is a vitamin or not doesn't matter. It's a common name used for it. That's just how it came to be commonly known. Don't shoot the messenger for some petty power trip rush of superiority that you think you know some insignificant categorical detail someone else doesn't know.
Marathonracer You're a moron. You clearly don't even know who Gary Gordon is. He has gotten several multi million dollar grants from the government for research. Is or was on staff for the medical board for a state and like I aid literally wrote the protocol for several medical practices. Clearly educated and a legitimate source to base an opinion on. Btw his full time job is traveling to medical conferences across the world which is why he has his org to educate other professionals on the most up to date medical knowledge. You seem to like to have a huge trap and opinion talking about subjects you are ignorant of. Also Gordon just recently I believe got a huge grant from the government for some sort of new cancer treatment he is working on using copper. Also you can look online he developed the most effective oral form of vitamin C on the market allowing therapeutic dosing. He also helped develop acs silver by results rna which is used all over the world. It's the most effective and safest anti microbial for internal use there is. It was used in the recent ebola in the USA and is used by Harvard Medical Hospital and hundreds of others now for sanitation purposes. Proven to kill MRSA, Lyme and so on. The list goes on and on he is also the father of oral chelation and brought omega 3 to north america. You really haven't the vaguest clue about this topic. Gary Gordon is far from a quack. He also had a government funded study that found how to prevent around 96% of death from heart disease. Btw just because something is standard practice doesn't mean it should be. So that is a ridiculous argument. Just like saying a little used treatment in American medical system equates to it being ineffective. That is also a ridiculous argument. Then you want to bitch about laetrile about how it can cause harm when you completely ignore what I wrote. Which is it is meant to be administered by IV. Clearly your reading comprehension is lacking. Since most of what you wrote was based on that faulty argument which shouldn't have been brought up again I can only assume your feelings were hurt when you were set straight and needed something to bitch about irrelevant as it was. You even brought up the term B17 again when that was addressed. You have issues buddy. btw you can go to gordonresearch.com and see much of this stuff for yourself. The very fact you have to mute someone after posting shows you have zero integrity and confidence in your opinion. It also shows you are very immature and childish. Which was evident right from the start with your tone. Next time only talk about topics you are knowledgeable. Just a tip otherwise you make a fool out of yourself. Your name suits. You run away from everything apparently.
This was not a fair representation because he used the vitamix improperly. If you read the instruction manual it clearly says to begin a blend on the lowest speed and slowly increase to the desired speed. This way you give the food a chance to be pulled down into the blade. It's pretty simple but somehow this 'expert' fouled up a nearly foolproof blender ...
The thing he didn't mention was the fact that the Blendtec is so user friendly he can set it and forget it. The Vitamix required him to push everything down with a stick.
Michael Erickson I noticed that. I didn't bother to watch it over it again, but I thought that I recalled him saying from the beginning that in both machines you can clean things up etc while they blend. It doesn't appear that that's the case with the Vitamix since you have to keep pushing everything down in. Well...he kept pushing everything down in.
i was thinking of gettign the blendtec since i will need only fourside jar for my stuff like grinding, ice cream, dairy free milk and nut butters, but many claim that its nto good thewhole high tech touch screen and how it shakes when its on high ....so which vitamix is good for my needs?iwill need dry and wet jar but dont know if refurbished models are worth buying or just get a new one?i dotn want it to break down after few uses...or find rubber or plastic in my smoothies or ice cream....i am so confused.shoudl 5200 be good or i need a newer model?
I gave my sister Blendtec and she loves it. It is light and chic looking... My son wants Vitamix so... whatever does it for each individuals is what it counts, unfortunately, neither one is cheap like buy and try, if not get another one type... Nothing can go wrong, it is just the looks you choose - if it comes down to the bottom...
DUH! I have been reading and watching between these two on many recipes and youtube videos. Besides the the many excellent deals on the Blendtech and the 7 year warranty or the 5/7 on the VitaMix -- you HAVE to use the plunger on the VitaMix!! The Blendtech you just put the ingredients in and let it work. That in itself was one of the biggest selling points for me especially as the Blendtech heats soups to a higher degree too.
Yeah, the plunger isn't for everyone. It's nice to just fill the jar, push a button, and clean the counter while the blender does it's thing. Glad to hear you're enjoying the Blendtec!
I also noticed that with the vitamix he seemed to throw in the whole Apple and not cut it in half like he did with the blendtec one. Just thought I’d mention that too
Hi Karin Chong, the Blendtec is still available for $279 with free shipping. Head over to our site at blendit.tv/blendtec-promo-code to learn more. Let us know if you have any questions!
I am contemplating buying a Blentec Total Blender, however, I have been doing a bit of research and have seen that many people are complaining about leaking issues. Haver you ever had that problem? Thank you.
I have not had any leakage on our Blendtecs. We've used refurbs and new ones for videos and testing. With the 7-year warranty, I wouldn't be too worried about it. Both Blendtec and Vitamix stand by their product.
Don't buy that piece of garbage go with a waring pro xtreme series. As a smoothie shop owner...If you want power and quality commercial is the way to go
Edgar Espinal Santos Seems like decent reviews here: blendit.tv/waring-pro-xtreme Priced in the Ninja range and could be an interesting competitor. We'll have to get our hands on one for some testing and Vs. videos.
love my blendtec, best blender i have ever owned. I mostly use it for my morning smoothie, fruit (usually frozen), always 1 banana, yogurt, protein powder, ice, and some 1% milk. Usually drink it on the way to work
+1991stratplus: Agreed. I have gone through numerous blenders over the last couple of years. (I make a smoothie for breakfast every single morning.) I recently bought a Blendtec and just can't believe the difference. I wish I had bought it years ago; it would have saved me a LOT of money in the long-run.
I very good video. I have been comparing both blenders from various sources and I think I may be purchasing the Blendtec for its simplicity. Your video has helped my decide. Thank you.
does anyone know the name of the container that is extra for the blendtec it seemed to be small jug than the reg size looked handy but didn't get a name for it..it has like arms that swirl around the whole blender...I am going with blendtec can find better deals on it and less pricey..thanks for losing your voice for us :) VERY nice informational video
Hi, pheadrasfall! Thanks for the kind words :) I think you're looking for Blendtec's Twister Jar. It's available direct from Blendtec via blendit.tv/twister-jar for $119. Sometimes they are cheaper on Amazon via this link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0087Q1T1S/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0087Q1T1S&linkCode=as2&tag=dg092-20&linkId=DEGUJTVB5HVSZIFR The Twister Jar is a blast to use! It's hard to imagine owning a Blendtec and not having this jar.
When I do a similar smoothie in my Blendtec, I use the whole juice setting. It will go for 50 seconds vs the 40 second smoothie cycle. The Vitamix went for about a minute with its smoothie cycle, so for sure it would be smoother.
Blendit.TV First off, I'm glad you used the "same" function for both machines, the smoothie function. Very often I see people compare the Vitamix vs Blendtec, and what they'll do is run the Vitamix on high and then use the smoothie button on the Blendtec, and of course the Vitamix will come out on top in that situation. Because the Blendtec's smoothie setting doesn't run on high the entire time, so it's basically like the Vitamix runs on high for 40 seconds while the Blendtec doesn't. It's an unfair comparison. However, because the smoothie setting on the Vitamix is longer than the smoothie setting on the Blendtec, it is also a little hard to compare. My suggestion would be to let both machines run on high manually. That way we have the highest setting on both machines running. And because the Blendtec times out at 50 seconds, the Vitamix should be timed to stop at 50 seconds as well. This way you can by-pass as much variability as possible in the test. Because they'll both run at their top speed and for the exact same length of time. Btw, in this comparison, I actually do think the Blendtec comes out on top. Because even if it is slightly more fiberous, it ran for less of a time and without the hassle of tampering. I have a Vitamix, and I'll be the first to admit that tampering isn't always easy.
Hey! Good video, shows a lot of the aspects of both. I did want to mention that cutting the apple in half does make it have an easier time. So.. that doesn't exactly compare the same. And I've put both side by side and they do not do the same textures. Especially since Vitamix makes peanut butter. And how? Without needing an extra container. Vitamix is also ALOT quiter, and for me.. not having to hold on to the lid was kinda important to me.
The Vitamix 750 has a shorter next generation container, pre-programmed settings, a quieter motor (40% according to Vitamix), and a slight increase in horsepower. It's also quite a bit more expensive than the 5200. The 5200 is still a VERY good blender. I have some Vitamix promo codes that I cannot post publicly. Email me at promotions@blendit.tv and I'll send you a code.
I'm contemplating on getting a Blendtec or Vitamix.. I just find it a nuisance to have to use the plunger tool and the Blendtec looks smoother? I don't know yet
Hi Perrie Malik, the Vitamix plunger definitely isn't for everyone. I do find it gives me extra confidence when throwing tough ingredients in there. I can really smash them into the blades without fear of damaging the machine or getting a chunky smoothie.
Perrie Malik, let us know what you decide. Be sure to check out our website blendit.tv/2014-Black-Friday-Deals for this year's Black Friday deals. If you got or the $20 gift card, mention Anna K. and I'll see that you get a little something extra. Be well!
Hi Perrie Malik, the Black Friday deal is valid for orders to USA and Canada. We may be able to connect you with another offer if you are in a different country.
I've owned a smoothie shop for 10 years and from my experience blendtecs are ok, vitamixses or great, but the waring pro xtreme series blow these two out of the water. The waring pro xtreme series are commercial blenders and have 3.5 horsepower. The waring pro xtreme series are in a class of their own.
I'm glad i saw your video because I've stopped making vege smoothies due to my blender's capacity to liquify. I'll purchase one of these blenders . I saw them online for around the same price range. Guess now I'll never stop making vege smoothies now . If the blendtec let a few fibres in the drink I suppose the vitamix is better ? Dr Oz recommended the blendtec blender once on his show. You've been very helpful. Bye the way you're hot so it was a pleasure to look at your video !
Both prohibitive in the UK. In the US they are approx. $380 or £240 but in the UK you will pay £399 and the cheapest I have seen for the Vitamix is £330. Blender retailers this is a rip off. From the research I have undertaken the Vitamix has been reviewed as the best but I can not compare as too expensive in the UK. If pricing was comparable for the dollar value I would not have an issue but it is not.
I thought you said you could set it and do stuff while it blended. Looked like you had to monitor the Vitamix and continuously plunge it, only the Blendtec allowed you to walk away. You blend the apple with the core? o.O You're getting lots of arsenic in your diet. haha
I have a Vitamix 5200 and I only need the tamper if I don't have enough liquid. It's not a big deal at all, shouldn't be a deal breaker for anyone. I love my machine and use it at least once daily.
I also have the Vitamix 5200 and rarely use the tamper. Like Susan ( in the previous comment), I use it everyday, not only for smoothies but I also enjoy the dry blender for different recipes. I love my Vitamix and I would not exchange it for anything else.
I have owned a vita mix, and they are awesome. But, I just found the Blentec, and the price is less than half the price of the least expensive vita mix. So, I am researching to find out if the Blentec is just as good at less than half the price
Can we get a review from someone who is NOT selling them? You seem to be fair. I did, however, see you press the blendtec ingredients down. I know ppl who have that blender and you have to open it and keep pushing things down (w/more ingredients) to get it to blend without a lot of liquid.
Hi, Nalini Maraj are you still looking for a deal? We have special deals for Vitamix.com, but we aren't allowed to publish them in the comments. Feel free to email our team at promotions@blendit.tv. You can also checkout Amazon's warehouse deals. Lots of good prices on there like this dry grains container: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JLG0UUO/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00JLG0UUO&linkCode=as2&tag=dg092-20
Dylan Baker. Using the plunger is not a problem. Plus it helps eliminate air pockets. You will get air pockets in all other blenders when blending chunking whole vegetables.
Ive owned a Vitamix 750 for over 5 years, I tried using the tamper once, now I can't find it. don't over fill it and you will never need the tamper, unless making like almond butter, then that's another story. show me a blendtec that makes butter easier no touch vs a Vitamix with a (plunger)
I wish I had not seen this review & simply gone ahead with my gut instinct & bought Vitamix. Now with close to $800+ taxes down for Blendtec 800 all I can do is a great smoothie & good hot soup where as my Sister who bought Vitamix 6200 (COSTCO) the same time I bought Blendtec (Cyber Monday 2017) can not only do smoothie & soup but, her nut butters (Almond, Peanut & Cashew) turn out way way more creamier & faster than my $800 behemoth. As for Frozen dessert, despite of using the exactly same ingredients, mine has the consistency of a really thick milkshake, she gets the perfect gelato texture and feel to her ice creams. She has kneaded dough in her Vitamix whereas I haven't yet. I think the contribution of the plunger should not be overlooked. I realized that a bit too late, if you want to get the most out of your blender than a Plunger is a must. I am listing my Blendetec (barely used for 3 months) on eBay for $720 + shipping (Only US) so that I can buy myself a Vitamix. Also on repeated viewing I realized, in the above video the reviewer has used whole apples in Vitamix where as he has cut the same apple in half before putting it in Bendtec. Now that makes a big difference, Blendtec cannot handle whole fruit as efficiently as Vitamix can with a plunger.
I'm sorry i just don't see how paying close to $400 for a machine that still requires you to use a tamper on occasions just to do the job is justifiable. For that amount i expect it to go grocery shopping for me.
Yeah your right, Blendtec also got a better result in most cases. The older Vitamixes tend to swing on the table and are also louder. The newer model I've never used, but I doubt they fix this completely. Since Vitamix tend to copy shameless from Blendtec and still charge you more for this odd technology, just get the original. :)
Why can't the Vitamix designers get that thing a couple of inches shorter so it fits under the cabinet on your kitchen counter? Blendtec does. Come on, Vitamix!
Things I dislike about my Vitamix. 1 - It has an extra safety switch on/off on the right side of the blender, like how many of us have kids and would be dumb enough to play with the blender. 2 - its heavy, when I turn it on, it doesn't jump all over my counter and shake like crazy, I am a strong guy, I can put my hand on the blender and hold it in place. 3 - its simple - drop in ingredients and turn the power switch on, then rotate knob speed selector. I really don't have time to just stand there for like a whole 30 while seconds while this pulverizes my drink. Id prefer a simple button that just blends for the proper set time then auto shuts off. 5 - 20 seconds is way too long to hear this loud blender blending, they should sell a cone of silence with each unit. 6 - this is built like a tank and will likely never wear out, please, I really liked replacing my blender every few years, i'm sure I will grow old with this old thing. 7 - price. oh my gosh it is expensive, I much preferred buying blenders every 2-3 years. 8 - I use it way too much, I hate the fact it owns a place on my kitchen counter, saying, use me, use me, which I do, I just want the thing to wear out so I can go back to cheap blenders, but alas, it may never happen, I try to use this darned thing daily, it just keeps going and going. So yeah these are my gripes about the blender its a Vitamix 750 going on 5 years old. 4 - I can't count
ur cool and i like ur channel also that u try to interact with the community the thing is theres only so much worthwhile content you can make when it comes to blending :(
Thanks for the kind words, kumamonn! We are in the studio over the next few weeks creating more blender recipe videos. We're trying to make them short, sweet, and entertaining. Is there anything you would like to see?
I've had commercial versions of both Blendtec (Q-series) and Vitamix (The Quite One) which both were the most expensive versions at the time. And I must say that Blendtec was a lot better at blending smoothies, especially frozen blueberries would be totally blended whilst the Vitamix (despite being a lot more expensive) would never get the blueberries fully blended. But now as I'm doing some research to get a good blender for home I'm actually thinking that the Vitamix 750 would be a better choice than the Blendtec, mostly because the blendtec has too much power for it's own good. If nothing holds the jar down, it will not last for long.
Vitamix you have to "force" it to blend with the temper. The Blendtec is a "one touch" blending operation. Blendtec jar is a better design & much easier to pour & less waste to clean out.
I just bought a Blendtec blender. I've just made two whole food smoothies so far. I've been watching Vitamix vs Blendtec videos all day just in case I change my mind and can return the Blendtec in 30 days. I've never used the vitamix so I can't compare them myself but watching the videos I believe the Vitamix might com out on top by a hair. Why I got the Blendtec was because I liked the features better than the vitamix. I hated the fact I would have to stand and use that plunger thing that came with the vitamix. The blendtec works so well with out one. I have push buttons on my Blendtec which I like better than the knobs on the vitamix. There is little difference in the smoothness in the smoothies between the two blenders. I'll have to make some more things like soup and peanut butter to see how I like the Blendtec. I like the cover on the Blendtec better than the Vitamix. If I were to buy a vitamix I would get a 750 Proffetional Series .
Hi ,yes I'm keeping the Blendtec; thanks for asking. I love it. It makes my ceasar salad dressing so creamy. I could never get it the way I wanted it in my prossesser . I've even made pizza dough. It turned out great. I would never trade my blendtec for a vitamix. Making my green drinks is so easy now.
lol blenders... what purpose do they serve beside blending everything into mush that digests easy. My point being, whether it's a cheap one or the one that costs half k, the end result is pretty much identical. Cheap blender breaks down too fast? Buy 5 of them.
nope mate. We just picked up the blendtec, its crazy what it can do. Spins 300 mph.. so fast that it can turn that mush into soup (heats it up). I can throw anything at it and it tears it up. Plus the 8 warranty from Costco, I definitely cant go wrong.
gregdoh litter the planet as much as i can before i go out, i don't have to deal with any of that shit. It's just natural that our kids are going to have a much harder time surviving, it's part of evolution, they will adapt or die :3
Actual blending begins around 16:00.
Thank you lol
i noticed his voice changes lol
ϟtαɼɼɥ✫ϟĸɥ That's a lot of talking for me! Especially over three hours of takes and retakes :)
I wanted to also know if the vegetables especially really fibrous ones would liquify without adding any liquid to it ? I prefer liquifying the vege's in its own juices and not adding water or other juices. I ask because I saw you add liquid and ice. Thanks .
Nalini Maraj
They may liquify depending on how much natural juice is in the vegetable. Adding some form of liquid, like coconut water, creates a smooth and drinkable texture. Avocados are also good for smoothing out recipes.
FYI:
Apple seeds do in fact contain a substance that is convert into hydrogen cyanide in the intestine.

Freaking wow!!!! Had no idea
19 minutes of blab & a little bit of blending. We got exactly three things out of this video...THREE
1) Got to see the parts of each model (kinda).
2) Got to watch the Blendtec [literally] beat the smoothie contents to pulp as it tried to walk across the counter and required a hand on top to still the beast...not juice...pulp.
3) Got one truly useful comment/opinion out of this "comparison." "The Blendtec smoothie is a bit pulpy with some fiber in it..."
Thank you, I remain a Vitamix fan!
Pulpy? It looked 10x smoother than the vitamix... It took forever to get the vitamix to start blending even with the tamper... What a drag.
mlltij6home I agree. All these TH-camrs do too much. Bla bla bla at the beginning of their videos. Many times I check out. Hmm. I should make info You Tube videos.
Pretty cool that you're responding to comments. I went for the Vitamix 5200. Hasn't let me down yet! Thanks for a great review.
Awesome! Glad you're enjoying the 5200. It's a great investment!
Never saw that the blendtec would need a tamper :)
Definitely Blendtec.... I own one and it works great.... plus, I am not about to waste my time with a tamper.... thanks for the review!
but you waste alot of nutrients

Great review, very informative! We just purchased the Blendtec 625 tonight, and we're very excited about the options ahead. We had to retire the Ninja after seeing the Blendtec. We went in looking for the Vitamix, and walk out with the Blendtec Designer 625. With a 20% off coupon at Bath Body and Beyond, and a smaller container added in for free, we walk out at a little over $400.00. It's great times ahead! Again, great review...thanks for helping me make the decision!
Great choice, Todd Hibbs ! That's a great deal on the 625. I hope you're enjoying it!
you put a full apple in the 750. i have never used the temper with my vitamix. did blentech pay you?
Thanks for the awesome review. The Blendtec even with only the dull 2 blades liquified all that on its own as it should without the tamper!
luv luv luv the vitamix.. having the tamper is really helpful.
Chop the apple in half? Dude, have you ever watched "will it blend"? :P
i got mine at costco 'my blendtec' about 14 months ago for 400 dollars and some change don't remember exactly it comes with 8 year warranty, no problems so far and we use it every day
i'm glad i when with the blendtec instead of the vitamix i love my blendtec you just push a button and your done and i know the vitamix works great too but blendtec it's easier to use and to clean
I have both and agree with you.
Great choice! The Vitamix 5200 is an excellent blender. How do you make your Acai super bowl?
In the vitamix there were a few chunks there. I saw it. :/
It is the best blender in the world, hands down
Thanks for sharing your experience! What model of Vitamix did you end up with?
B is like monstor
How are the programs complex? They’re very self explanatory imo. Please explain.
They're both so amazing.
My favorite feature is that the blender blends everything at once without using anything to help it blend so a powerful motor is a must for me
What are the stainless steel bowls you have to your right on the counter?
The Blend test looks smoothere.
hi there, I went to blendtec website and I saw their blendtec designer series has 4 LED icon light buttons (smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and soup). instead of 6 icon buttons(BATTER, ICE CRUSH, smoothie, ice cream, whole juice, and soup). my question is are these 2 blender are the same blender or they one is newer design/more powerful than the other. Thank you!
Hi, Steve! Great question!
Blendtec's new Designer Series 625 does have the four buttons you mentioned. The Designer 625 is here: goo.gl/yw7lJe
The original designer series has six preprogrammed functions. It is now only available from Blendtec as certified refurbished. The original Designer Series is here: goo.gl/2G9Zby
Blendtec claims the new Designer Series has their four most popular blend functions mapped to buttons.
+DJ IceCream It is not cyanide it is vitamin B17.
Marathonracer
It's not cyanide.
Marathonracer
You're a moron.
Does the Blendtec have a "Reversal Blade" feature?
At last, a non-bias in depth review. Thank you very much!!!
LOL, he didn't need the temper for the vitamix. i've had my 2 yrs and can't even find the temper
It's a design flaw not to have a tamper.
That handless feature is so nice. Not gonna lie
@@Loganberriez79 yes and no
I have the Vitamix pro and I do not have to use the tamper, it just sucks everything down and pulverizes it.
I agree you don't have to use the tamper you just have to give it a sec to liquefy
i was thinking of gettign the blendtec since i will need only fourside jar for my stuff like grinding, ice cream, dairy free milk and nut butters, but many claim that its nto good thewhole high tech touch screen and how it shakes when its on high ....so which vitamix is good for my needs?iwill need dry and wet jar but dont know if refurbished models are worth buying or just get a new one?i dotn want it to break down after few uses...or find rubber or plastic in my smoothies or ice cream....i am so confused.shoudl 5200 be good or i need a newer model?
I had both love the style of the Blendtec much better
Think I am going to go with the Blendtec... thanks for the video!!! New subbie.
Compltely agree Munki Munki, both blenders are very capable blenders.
Is the Vitamix Drink advance model the same as the Vitamix G 750 series?
Check the BPA in the plastic first before choosing.
I’ve seen many videos on the Blendtec where you have to stop and shake the pitcher or use a spatula to push down your ingredients, multiple times.
Ummm, The Designer series is not Blendtec's Flagship model. The Stealth is a much higher end unit.
Vitamix took forever to start the blending process. Do each have a plastic jar to blend in?
Hi Ray McCollom, both jars are plastic jars. They are super strong though.
I also noticed that with the vitamix he seemed to throw in the whole Apple and not cut it in half like he did with the blendtec one. Just thought I’d mention that too
Thanks for you video, I was not sure which one to buy, but after your video, I like the Blendtec, did not like the plunger of the VitaMix.
Either. Just don't buy a crummy NutriBullet that will fall apart in a couple months.
Or spill half your smoothie out when trying to pour it lol

Hi Karin Chong, the Blendtec is still available for $279 with free shipping. Head over to our site at blendit.tv/blendtec-promo-code to learn more. Let us know if you have any questions!
I am contemplating buying a Blentec Total Blender, however, I have been doing a bit of research and have seen that many people are complaining about leaking issues. Haver you ever had that problem? Thank you.
I have not had any leakage on our Blendtecs. We've used refurbs and new ones for videos and testing. With the 7-year warranty, I wouldn't be too worried about it. Both Blendtec and Vitamix stand by their product.

love my blendtec, best blender i have ever owned.

Hi, pheadrasfall! Thanks for the kind words :) I think you're looking for Blendtec's Twister Jar. It's available direct from Blendtec via blendit.tv/twister-jar for $119.
Sometimes they are cheaper on Amazon via this link: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0087Q1T1S/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0087Q1T1S&linkCode=as2&tag=dg092-20&linkId=DEGUJTVB5HVSZIFR
The Twister Jar is a blast to use!
Thanks for the tip! We'll run our next smoothie comparison video on the whole juice setting.
Blendit.TV
First off, I'm glad you used the "same" function for both machines, the smoothie function.
Blendit.TV Did you try it? How did it turn out?
WorldOfRandomStuff We're in the studio this week! Trying to up our game a little bit ;)
Vitamix is also ALOT quiter, and for me.. not having to hold on to the lid was kinda important to me.

why are there so many refurbs?
+MetaView7 The refurbs are the blenders that go on the road . Demos at the home shows. Used on or two shows, cleaned up and sold as referbs.
+allen j if the blenders are so reliable, why do they only use them for one or two shows? they could have kept them forever! it doesn't make sense.
whats the difference between 750 and 5200?
The Vitamix 750 has a shorter next generation container, pre-programmed settings, a quieter motor (40% according to Vitamix), and a slight increase in horsepower. It's also quite a bit more expensive than the 5200. The 5200 is still a VERY good blender. I have some Vitamix promo codes that I cannot post publicly. Email me at promotions@blendit.tv and I'll send you a code.
vitamin base looks tough to keep clean and keep junk out of the slides and knobs.
Hands down- I'm getting a Blendtec!
Ugh, would hate to have to sit there and push all the food in. Blendtec all the way. Own one and would never go back.
Thank you! Probably just going to do some more research Blendit.TV

You blend the apple with the core? o.O You're getting lots of arsenic in your diet. haha
Fast forward to the 16,30 mark.
I didn't like the fact that you had to use a tamper in Vitamix, to help the fruits and veggies blend.
Yeah, the tamper isn't for everyone. I had the container packed full and really had to apply a lot of pressure.
I agree Lily Jon, the tamper isn't always needed. It depends on the recipe and how full the jar is.
Agave nectar? not a good idea. Organic raw honey is a better option
I have owned a vita mix, and they are awesome. But, I just found the Blentec, and the price is less than half the price of the least expensive vita mix. So, I am researching to find out if the Blentec is just as good at less than half the price
Susan Mason im curious to know did you like the Blentec? out of the 2 which one would u recommend ? thanks
Can we get a review from someone who is NOT selling them? You seem to be fair. I did, however, see you press the blendtec ingredients down. I know ppl who have that blender and you have to open it and keep pushing things down (w/more ingredients) to get it to blend without a lot of liquid.
No way I don't want to mess with a plunger, I'll take the blend tec,
I liked the bledtec and the other one

Did any one else notice that he had it on the clean cycle on the vitamix

I know the Vitamix is made in the USA. where is the Blendtec made?
I saw another presentation that said USA for both
Utah.
I dont like the vitamix design and having to push with that plunger thing would be a pain
The plunger definitely isn't for everyone. I generally don't need it when I make smoothies for one. When the jar is full the plunger is a must.
Jeez I'm, you're using a blender. How easy so you want it? To put in plunger? Really? That's hard work though.
Jeez why can't I find an even evaluation?? I'm in the research and development industry. It's not hard to do a fair comparison. SMH
But will it blend?
Well said Vitamix is the way to go!
You did a good job. Thank you.
I'm sorry i just don't see how paying close to $400 for a machine that still requires you to use a tamper on occasions just to do the job is justifiable. For that amount i expect it to go grocery shopping for me.
Please refrain from using my government name.
Go-Go Gadget Heh heh!! XD
I want to see how both will cut up a whole apple, but he cut one apple in half and left another whole.
Why can't the Vitamix designers get that thing a couple of inches shorter so it fits under the cabinet on your kitchen counter? Blendtec does. Come on, Vitamix!
The vitamix 7500 is designed to fit perfectly under kitchen cabinets :) just got mine 2 days ago & love it!
They also need to update the look, just bought a all white Blendtec looks amazing
Fuck, you Vitamix dudes are super toxic. I want no part of vitamix if it means having to be lumped in with you lot.
ur cool and i like ur channel also that u try to interact with the community the thing is theres only so much worthwhile content you can make when it comes to blending :(
Thanks for the kind words, kumamonn!
I’ve had two Vitamix the 750 is my preferred choice.
Vitamix you have to "force" it to blend with the temper. The Blendtec is a "one touch" blending operation. Blendtec jar is a better design & much easier to pour & less waste to clean out.
I like the blendtec cause u can clean it easier and not have the blade cut you
The old Vitamix was better than the new, it had a Reverse mode. and the container had a drain. and was made out of Stainless steel.
Great video!
Have to tell you though, my Vitamix has a spout!
Vitamix has not had a spout for 25 years, lol.
Hi, Kim! How are your smoothies coming along? Did you keep the Blendtec?
Hi ,yes I'm keeping the Blendtec; thanks for asking. I love it. It makes my ceasar salad dressing so creamy. I could never get it the way I wanted it in my prossesser . I've even made pizza dough. It turned out great. I would never trade my blendtec for a vitamix. Making my green drinks is so easy now.
Awesome! Pizza dough is a real test for a blender. Perhaps we should do a pizza dough video soon. Glad to hear you are enjoying the Blendtec.
Very comprehensive review, great job! He sounds like Batman though, which makes it cool as well! Haha :D
lol blenders... what purpose do they serve beside blending everything into mush that digests easy.
Buy 5 cheap blenders or 1 expensive blender? Yay, more waste!
Ha you have obviously never owned a nice blender.
gregdoh litter the planet as much as i can before i go out, i don't have to deal with any of that shit. It's just natural that our kids are going to have a much harder time surviving, it's part of evolution, they will adapt or die :3
Why so much different combination? Doesn't make any sense.
Blended all the way
