    John did you know you are a juicer scientist?

    Great comparison test John ! Maybe you could cut veggies in 1/2 and divvy out the halfs to each juicer for the BRIX.

      That would be good. The brix measurement was an afterthought. I may plan for this in the future!

    I'm trying to talk my wife into buying a juicer, but to her it is hard to justify around 400 dollars. But I will be purchasing from you when I talk her into it.

    The greenstar was not slower... you spent almost a minute talking about the pusher instead of juicing!

    John, I really wish I knew about the Green Star Pro before I bought the Juisir (that I still haven't received). Hopefully I hear something about that because I rather get the Green Star Pro from you. I think the amount of work is worth it for the benefits.

    Hi John do you have any problems with jamming and the wiping blades pausing while the inner spiral compressor keeps turning? Also is the small inner gear plastic?
    Thanks
    Robert

      @discountjuicers  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No inner plastic gear on the VSJ843, as the wiping screen is driven by the auger. I rarely have the wiping blade pause, but that can happen if you are overloading the juicer.

    Even though it has been a couple of years since the last review of the solostar 3c, I wanted to ask what you think is difference between the solostar 3c and the solostar 4. I love the hand crank option on the 3c but do you think the solostar4 is really the best choice between these two. My question might be irrelevant to this vid, but I have not seen you post a comparison review on these two. I'm in the market for one of these. Thank-you! Great vids by the way..

      Basically, the Solostar 4 improved the Solostar 3. It has a lower RPM motor that is more energy efficient, new modern, compact motor design. Also some of the juicing parts have been improved. That being said the auger, and screen are identical, so yields in either machine should be comparable.

      just wondered what brix machine did you use. Milwaukee MA871?

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      IT was a Milwaukee, they have several models that measure brix. That being said, yes, the 871 will do it. That being said, overall I recommend a analog brix meter as it tells more than "just" the number (mineral density) but is not as good for videos where I can show the number for the video.

    John, is the extra smoothie screen still available for the Omega Mega Mouth and Kuvings Elite on your website? I no longer see it. Maybe I'm overlooking?...

      It is currently out of stock. It will be available maybe another month.

    I wish the greenstar had a gear shaft gasket like the omega horizontals have... the gear backing area always gets so messy, it's hard to clean that area, and water there could damage the machine if it gets inside. given that issue of not having that rear gasket and cleaning problem, how this could be a commercial unit worries me.

    • @ryanwelsch9384
      @ryanwelsch9384 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Need not worry about spraying that area with water. It can get wet, just not submerged. I find it easy to place the machine over the edge of the kitchen sink and use the spray nozzle and the brush to clean that area. In the past after I cleaned the unit I would stand it up on its back to save space, but then realised this is a bad Idea because the water from cleaning could find its way into the machine. I did also have an issue where the gasket started leaking on the drive shaft. Tribest sent me a replacement part at no charge. Now I try to avoid letting liquid accumulate in the chute. That may have pushed particles into the seal area and have caused the leak. It is also key to make sure that the screen does not become near fully clogged. I love this machine. My pulp is always so dry even with fruit.

    John, can you please give me the dimensions of that 1 LT pyrex glass jug you used on the greenstar?
    I also wanna use glass a jug, but idk if it will fit under my solostar 4.

      Here is a link:
      www.amazon.com/Pyrex-Prepware-1-Quart-Measuring-Measurements/dp/B0000CFMZP
      the GreenStar comes with a glass measuring cup that also fits under the greenstar. Not sure it will fit under the slowstar.

    you were mistaken when you said the Greenstar made a more nutritious juice when the brix level was 0.4 lower.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Brix is only one "way" to measure nutritional quality of a juice.

    John when are you going to do a juice off between your beloved Green Star and the dramatically better Angel? I understand you have issues that go back years, however, it's less then honest to pretend the absolute best twin gear juicer doesen't exist.

    • @discountjuicers
      @discountjuicers  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I will make Angel Videos and Once Again Promote their products once we work out our differences. Based on my last communication with them in March they do not agree with my request.
      That being said saying the angel is the "absolute best twin gear juicer" I would not agree with. As I show in my videos, each juicer has their own set of PROS and CONS. Is the Angel juicer 3x better than the Green Star Elite that is approx 1/3rd the price? I personally dont believe so.
