I never could grow a beard for the first 50 years of my life I let it grow with you since And I’m in shock I now am a proud owner of a real beard grey but a beard and wife loves it Thank you for allowing me to partake in this journey.
I'm 19 and turn 20 in about 3 months. This is my first time trying to grow a beard. I'm 30 days in and this is the encouragement I needed! Thanks for the inspiration Greg!
I'm currently 60 days in, during these 2 months I've learnt that time and patience is key to grow my beard. Thanks Greg! your videos encouraged me to grow my medium density beard and I'm loving it.
Greg - this series is a great reminder, that the beard doesn't make the person While you are known for your beard, you took that step to shave it off - restarting your bearding journey I think in the future this will give you a bit more freedom and flexibility with your style as you'll be less tied to a specific beard style Cool video series and I'll be interested to see the different directions you'll take your beard in the future
First time poster here. I also began my first real beard journey the same time that you did.I also have learned that as I have aged (now 50) that I am more hairy. I have also learned a lot about patience and commitment. My patches are about all filled out now and I am beginning to enjoy my new look. I have not yet trimmed or cut my beard but can tell that I need to at some point. I will probably wait for another 2 months before my first trim. Thank you and beardbrand for all of the informative information that you provide.
I started growing a beard just a few days before you, only having found your channel about a month in. It is comforting to know that someone else is on the same journey. I've never grown a beard for 3 months and this is the first time I ever thought a beard looked good on me. I don't generally stay clean shaven, but I never liked the intermittent phase of my beard. I usually just shaved when I got an ingrown hair, it started getting itchy or unruly. The biggest thing I learned on this journey is how to actually train my beard, though this is still a work in progress. Thanks for making this series. Looking forward to more videos.
Great video Greg! I'm on Week 14 of my yeard myself. I'm super surprised that at week 13, I had a pretty comparable amount of growth to you! I always just assumed that someone like yourself would have a faster growing beard than me. The things you learn when you take the yeard leap!
Same! It's been a real eye opener that all it really took for me to make my beard thicker and longer was to let it grow. No trimming at all! Started my yeard challenge at beginning of January 👌
@@green123o4 Good on your lad! It's very true, at week 1-3 my growth was so sparse (th-cam.com/video/a07bQ1OUdYg/w-d-xo.html). But now I've got this beastly thing
I had the same experience when I cut my beard after a year however I took down to stumble and not completely shaved . I learned and noticed some of the same things. My beard grows pretty quickly now compared to five years ago, I was a late bloomer too. At 36 years old I'm noticing my bear is growing at about 3/4 of a inch a month at 30 I was growing 1/2 a month . So I to have noticed and enjoyed the changes over the past 6 years. My uncle on my mothers side told me all his patches didn't come in until he was 40 so I think as time goes by I will be more and more pleased with the results
I actually got the opposite kind of reactions. But I am not listening to any of them. I don't like looking myself at the mirror without a beard, so I'm growing it back. Period.
I just did my one month grow out. I was pleasantly surprised about some of the growth, but for the most part I got what I expected. It's a good way to understand how you and your face work, especially when you're a fresh and tender age like your late teens.
I'm thinking of growing my beard for another few months and getting it to about the 10 month mark or longer. Outside of shaping trims, I've been growing mine nonstop for a long time.
@@johnmcelvogue1776 Thanks for the kind words John! It's been awesome building this company and helping thousands of guys on their journey of self investment.
Thanks Greg. I found you six weeks into your 90 day growth and you inspired me. I’m now six weeks in and going strong. My experiences are similar to yours. My beard quantity has increased as I’ve aged. I’m committed to 90 days and then will aim for 180. So far so good. Beard on
I had no idea how this video series was going to interest me until this week. I had to shave off my 2 year beard due to a work issue. Now I'm starting to regrow but seeing how you evolve during the 90 days I'm more a ease with the whole thing. Thanks for these videos.
This is my first time, thanks to Beardbrand. Tried many times but as you all said many times I was discouraged because of so many bald patches. This is the longest I have went and am very pleased. Thanks for the journey. It was a great 40th birthday present for me. I wanted a beard for decades but didn't have the knowledge. Always figured I couldn't grow one so why bother. Thanks again!
Hi Greg, Thank you for sharing your journey! It definitely gives folks (and myself) more confidence to let their beard grow to truly see its potential. Can't wait to see a video of you tidying it up and giving it a fresh trim.
Why am I fascinated with Greg Berzinsky? The first time I saw the TH-cam thumbnails I thought, oh great just another hipster. After watching his videos I found out what a great guy he is. Keep making the videos Greg! All my bearded friends watch you too.
Really loved this series Greg. I watch and enjoy your videos every time they pop up. Your attitude is so positive as well, that just makes my day better. I have been growing my beard for about 7 months now. I have never grown a full yeard which is what I am going for. But I do like to shave my beard and to alternative styles. May as well have fun with your beard!
Thanks Greg for all you've taught! So great knowing you have a whole community of supporters, enthusiasts and learned beadsmen that follow in your footsteps.
You are so nice to your son about his beard growing at a younger age. I'm teased sometimes for trying to be masculine by my own father if I mess up in life.
I went clean shaven for the New Year and in the month that I've been growing it back I've noticed, similarly to you Greg, the hair seems to be denser as well as growing more quickly. Greatly enjoyed this series, as I do all of your videos!
I've been doing this with you. I'm about ready for a trim, but like you, I have discovered that I really like having a beard. I can't wait to go to the barber and experiment with some different styles. My mustache is SO long. My handlebars nearly touch my ears.
Well Greg you inspired me to do the same. I shaved my beard off about 8 weeks ago. I’m curious to see what my beard will look like in my 90 day challenge. Thus far it’s growing faster then I remembered and I’m very thankful for that. Miss my big full beard!
I have also a 90 day beard i grow it 60 days longer then im visiting a barber beard trim and new hairstyle like youre video's mr. Greg. Greetings from the netherlands
I have a very curly beard. My hair actually grows really fast, like 6+ inches in half a year, but because it curls up it doesn't get far from the face. It does however look dense af even at 23 years of age. This type of beard does require heavy maintenance and regular trimming to keep it in shape which does make it difficult to get it to some great size, but eventually I was rewarded with a dense and strong looking beard.
I have done the 90days with you but I’m 2 weeks behind you. I think I’m going to keep going. Because this is the first time trying to grow a full beard. I have always had a mustache and goatee. Except when I was in the Army.
I started my beard around the week you cut yours and I'm honestly surprised how it turned out. Both my Mom's side and my Dad's side have fairly weak beards but I grew mine out and learned that I got some recessive genes or something because I'm not all that patchy. I'm no mountain man but I'm impressed. Will I keep it though? We'll see. I can say there are advantages and disadvantages to having a beard. The obvious advantage is not having to shave. But you can easily find that maintaining the beard and making it look nice end up probably taking longer. Also drinking or eating is a negative. Having to wipe your beard every time you take a bite into something like chicken wings or drink down a beer can be a turn down.
I've really liked seeing your beard journey these past 90 days. I have had a very short beard/stubble/circle beard (in some form) most of the last 25 years. For really the first time I have been letting mine grow without any trimming since around Christmas. I have learned how far my beard extends on my face for the first time. But I've also learned that I'm not liking having longer beard hair. Maybe someday but not right now. I'll be trimming mine back down in the next few days. Probably.
Greg i think you and i have similar density to our beards i never thought it would look as good as yours because of you i started to grow mine out and to my surprise its filling in and looking wonderful thanks greg !
Hi. Thx for this challenge. My beard is very patchy and ive never dared to let my beard grow until now. After 90 days, i'm far from a result that's good enough for me yet, but now i know it takes time and i really want to see my beard full potential. (I really hope it's not done yet rofl)
True!! People treat me with more respect because of my bushy beard. Without it, I would look like a fucking teenager. I don't think I'll ever shave, I'm very attached to it.
Well I don't have a beard like that but I can tell without a beard I look like a teenager. Since I am letting it grow people stopped treating me like a high schooler lol
Hey Greg been with you through the whole thing. I actually shaved all mine off same time you did made me feel not so bad about shaving it off. I too took pictures of my growth. Stay bearded brother
I had a goatee since I got out of the Army that I kept trimmed very neatly close to the face for 25 yrs.. I was amazed to see my blank spots fill in when I let a full beard grow untrimmed. I oil it and put balm on it regularly and brush it obsessively and it's looking pretty good. I am however looking forward to getting to the point that I can trim it up. I want for it to get much longer but it drives me nuts not being able even out the wild and crazy errant hairs. I feel grubby but it will be worth it when I get it where I want it.
You have inspired me to do the same. Well sort of. I didnt shave mine off but i did do a big trim. I am going to go no cutting or trimming until my birthday in mid april. Thanks for the inspiration
The speed of your growth is amazing Greg, probably three times mine. (Although I console myself that this might mean I'm in less danger of losing my hair than the average guy...)
Your beard is awesome. Clean shaven looks good too but requires just as much commitment as bearded (clean haircut with neat or tapered sides, fresh-shaven every morning, good post-shave skin care, etc.) ‘Mad Men’ is a great model for this and you could certainly pull it off, but as someone who can’t grow a beard, I really admire fine examples such as yours.
The beard looks great. I think this length suits you really well but would also like to see you experiment with different styles. Thats the great thing about beards... they always grow back!
For the longest time I hated my beard. I had great growth on my chin, a lousy mustache, and thin cheeks. Goatees were my thing. Now that I’m older I still have that great chin growth, my cheeks have filled out a bit more, and my mustache has filled out a bit (although the area right down the middle still looks like “peach fuzz”). Within the last couple months I’ve let my chin and mustache grow long while trimming my cheeks fairly short. Experimenting is definitely worthwhile! I like what I’ve accomplished, but man...when I shave it all off I look so young! (And I enjoy that too!)
wonderful beard. you're really tempting me to start growing again! Maybe one of these days, i'll start up again because I've noticed my handlebar mustache starting to form in the past year.
Have started my 90 days journey since 1st of January after shaving my beard off on 31st December... the itch though made me shape my neck today as my growth pattern on the neck is the same as Jack here... that is one thing that I have learnt from my journey that at week 5 I need to shave my neck otherwise I would look like a wolf whose hair and beard meet each other on the sides and the neck hair meet the chest hair
I shaved my beard at the end of December and haven't shaved again since. I didn't regret it but I immediately missed it. I've been letting my hair grow for the last 4 months too, which is nearly 4 times the norm. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do for the trim, maybe I'll get some ideas :-)
I have a year beard, a year and three months. It's curly and almost daily hard to tame and never truly "neat" - just wild. I made the mistake of using a flat iron and a ceramic heat brush on it a few months back trying to fight this, and now my facial hair is wiry. I don't know if it is more wiry than it would have been or not. I was wondering if I cut it off and grew it back it would be softer, or if I let it keep growing the new hair would replace what's there now. Any advice besides never, ever, ever, ever use heat on it?
Should I let my beard grow 3 months? I’ve been growing it a month and then shaving since November, so now this is my third month growing and shaving after a month and I’ve seen crazy gains since I started 3 months ago. My theory is, some hairs take more time to grow than others. Sooooo, should I continue to grow my beard up to 3 months or trim it every two weeks or what should I do??
Brilliant video / series Greg, I took more notice to what my beard is doing Greg and I noticed that when I don't actually trim / tidy up my lines I noticed that my cheeks stop about a centimetre from my eyeball . 🤣
I just watched this video, lol, 6 months old! Anyways, I am 55 and just started growing my beard for the first time ever. I am on day 17 and it is crazy. It seems my right side is doing better than my left. Trying to keep the faith, as I know it takes time. Any suggestions??
Great series, very informative. I think Greg looks best with a bit longer beard, trimmed up, and with an English style mustache. A rugged, yet very stylish and sophisticated look.
Greg I think I have your kinda beard wrt late blooming. Also I do not need a neckline shave like in your beard's case. My question to you today would be... Did your beard grow faster in all its density the second time i.e. after the shave post 10 months? Or did it have the same patches that filled in gradually later?
Hello Mr Greg, it's my first time growing my beard, week 14, haven't trimmed it but the hair on the sides of my chin started to curling in (or under) now my chin doesn't look even with my sides, should I trim a little bit or keep going until it gets longer? Looks like if I had a rubber band in my chin.
That may come from a few things: - Over washing (you only need to wash your beard 2 to 3 times a week) - Lack of trimming (have a small maintenance trim every 2 to 3 months) Hope this all helps, let me know if you have any more questions, Dashon! - Jack
Hey Greg. Thanks for the vid. I’ve started my beard journey as well. I am in week 15 now and it’s crazy when I look back along my journey. I’ve never grown a beard before, mainly because of the jobs I did. But, I’ve since moved on and am able to now grow one, so I thought to myself, “why not”? I’ve always wanted to grow one. I’d love to share my pics with you if that’s ok. Let me know. Take care and beard on!
I have grown my cheek lines higher this time around too! I found that I not only have thicker growth, but it looks better a little higher up my cheeks. And notoriously patchy spots feel thicker this time around as well. I'm excited with my past 3 months of growth. :)
Love your vids Greg. I am on my 90th day also. I’m 43 and it seems like I have a lot more grey since my last beard. Maybe the stress from shaving it off.
I had a nice beard for over 2 years my barber always trimmed it for me and lined me up.I took care of it with oils combing blow-drying washing and etc.i cut my beard off and i am regrowing it probably 4 months in..my sides get curly and come out the shape of the beard my OCD is messing with me because one side looks better than the other...I have no idea what to do without my barber since he moved..how can I fix it myself! Also my face looking fatter now cuz it's getting wild!
Great series man. I’m at the same time frame as you. This is my first attempt at a long beard. We will see. Lol. Ty for all your knowledge and encouragement. Beard on🤘
my last shave was the end of October so i guess about 90 days, i didn't plan it, my winter no shave went past, i didn't get the itchy phase (though was in the hospital with bigger things than a face itch to worry about, I'm OK now though) this is the first time rocking a beard and so far been loving it and have been getting alot of positive feedback from people who's opinions actually matter to me, going to give it until April to see how i feel about it, if i get it shaped etc
It's been about 3 or 4 mouths since I got my beard trim I'm not sure if I want to take the length of it down because my cheek were completely gone from my barber shop and I'm not sure what I should do have any tips or advice
Hey Greg. Really enjoyed this series of videos although I'm a little late to the party....currently on day 26 after my decision to grow my first "proper" beard at age 52. Wish me luck! :-)
Yep I have just realized that! The minute that I began shaving it after a year of growing realised that I had made a mistake! My Wife and kids could not believe it, my youngest daughter summed it up when she said, "you have lost your 'wow factor '" I realised that I love having a beard. 2mnths now.

The beard looks great. I think this length suits you really well but would also like to see you experiment with different styles. Thats the great thing about beards... they always grow back!
Man, I loved this series. I would absolutely watch you do vlogs about all kinds of topics, not just beard related.
Down the road, that may just happen!

Greg, you're one of the very few who can pull off many styles.
In our opinion, if you've never gone for the full 3 months before, we say give it a go!
Your beard may end up surprising you!
- Jack
Beardbrand thanks! I’ll give it a go!
greg does your beard hair under your neck grow upwards or downwards?
I love how much you guys engage with your audience!Also...great beard Greg!
Nice update! Im at month 11 of my yeard all I have done is my cheek lines this is my first beard 🧔
Brilliant video / series Greg, I took more notice to what my beard is doing Greg and I noticed that when I don't actually trim / tidy up my lines I noticed that my cheeks stop about a centimetre from my eyeball . 🤣
I'm on my 5th week "you look like crap stage" but I will be patient as you all always says it! Definitely looking for that yeard!
I too shaved mine and restarted my journey and now I prefer for it to not be too long
I just watched this video, lol, 6 months old!
Anyways, I am 55 and just started growing my beard for the first time ever. I am on day 17 and it is crazy. It seems my right side is doing better than my left. Trying to keep the faith, as I know it takes time.
Any suggestions??
Awesome as always, Greg!
Anyone's OCD really bad when it comes to beard hairs that have crinkles in it or are too long? Any advice?
I so agree! I too find my Bear adorable only into my 50's.......Couldn't think of keeping one anytime before.....
Did you trim your neck at all during the 90 days?
Greg did no trimming at all during those 90 days.
- Jack
Hello Mr Greg, it's my first time growing my beard, week 14, haven't trimmed it but the hair on the sides of my chin started to curling in (or under) now my chin doesn't look even with my sides, should I trim a little bit or keep going until it gets longer? Looks like if I had a rubber band in my chin.
I moisturize my beard with beard oil and beard balm twice daily, I still have a lot of breakage and split ends, why is that????
That may come from a few things:
- Over washing (you only need to wash your beard 2 to 3 times a week)
- Lack of trimming (have a small maintenance trim every 2 to 3 months)
Hope this all helps, let me know if you have any more questions, Dashon!
- Jack
You're the best, on TH-cam. No, Bullshit!!!.....
Greg, please post a video of how you groom your beard day 90 with significant growth vs when you had a short beard (brushing?)
I don’t know but to me u look much better with it
Nice journey, Greg! You should make a video trimming the beard, neckline, cheekline, making it look even better!
Beard on🤘
Well - Im on week 9 and I think Im keeping my beard. But I'm with Greg in that its ok to shave it off once in a while.
my last shave was the end of October so i guess about 90 days, i didn't plan it, my winter no shave went past, i didn't get the itchy phase (though was in the hospital with bigger things than a face itch to worry about, I'm OK now though) this is the first time rocking a beard and so far been loving it and have been getting alot of positive feedback from people who's opinions actually matter to me, going to give it until April to see how i feel about it, if i get it shaped etc
Congrats we both are on same date of growing beard
The legendary beard is back
Are you going to do a video of you trimming your beard?
Of course!
@@BerzinskyRules When?
The king of beards
to me trimming the wildness help my beard grow tremendously
Great Video. As always Greg
Your beard AND videos are awesome man, keep it up!
It's been about 3 or 4 mouths since I got my beard trim I'm not sure if I want to take the length of it down because my cheek were completely gone from my barber shop and I'm not sure what I should do have any tips or advice
That’s good to hear...I think your beard looks great and I have noticed...even though I’m in my early 30s..that it’s been growing in fuller over time
Hey Greg. Really enjoyed this series of videos although I'm a little late to the party....currently on day 26 after my decision to grow my first "proper" beard at age 52. Wish me luck! :-)
Where did the time go?
Still growing mine out as well since the end of October
Yep I have just realized that!
The minute that I began shaving it after a year of growing realised that I had made a mistake!
My Wife and kids could not believe it, my youngest daughter summed it up when she said, "you have lost your 'wow factor '"
I realised that I love having a beard.
2mnths now.
Sometimes we don't realize what we've got until it's gone (beards especially!)
- Jack
My barber said that it was, midbeard crisis. 😁
Great video Greg!
Nice series. I agree with all of your five points.
