    I honestly miss BFA right now compared to Shadowlands. 8.2 was definitely the bright spot of the expansion. The music and art teams hard carry Blizz, but Nazjatar was one of those special places and felt very fateful to explore as a Night Elf. Hope for more like this soon!

    • @noctusowl
      @noctusowl 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      2 years later I miss BfA compared to SL and DF, DF defo improved over SL but not over BfA. And neither came any close to how awesome Legion was. Nazjatar should have been released with Cata or Legion. Felt a bit out of place in BfA, in the way it did not get the love it deserved with so many ongoing parallel plots. Would fit like a glove on the other two expansions.

    How can you not love World of Warcraft music? It's so genuine and pure. It's always been like that. To keep the music on the highest possible level is so hard, and the Warcraft universe since its very first games has had just the most climatic music you will find in the games.

    • @kiqporto
      @kiqporto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      most of what kept me bouncing back to wow was how appealing its climatic music is. The game itself never gets as perfect as the game's ambience is. Whenever I listen to wow music, something in me rly wants to just go back and play again. It's the dreamy, intense sounds that always have made this game a jewel for me. Not to mention cinematics. Both cinematics and music have been Blizzard's highlights to the planet.

    I don't know how they do it, but music writers for WoW hit the nail on the head with conveying the atmosphere of each zone perfectly.

    Here's my attempt at speculating the lyrics from Zin-Azshara A. Just spent a solid 5 hours trying to figure this out.
    My grammar might be a little off, I'm used to handling Thalassian rather than Darnassian
    Brackets are the 'upper' voices, singing over the top of the main one
    Darnassian Lyrics:
    Ash'thero shan'dor
    Bandu Azshar'dorei
    Ash'thero shan'dor (Ash'thero na-)
    Bandu Azshar'dorei (- Zin-Azshari)
    Ash'thero ana
    These English lyrics are VERY SPECULATIVE, as we don't know very many official words in Darnassian. I've taken a few liberties with interpretation of certain words as well, specifically 'thero'.
    Either way, my attempt at translation is below. Feel free to let me know how wrong you think I am! xP
    English Lyrics:
    Restore honour to those who have suffered

    Prepare to become born of Azshara
    Restore honour to those who have suffered (Those who have suffered for-)
    Prepare to become born of Azshara (- Azshara's Glory)
    Our struggle
    The lyrics for Zin-Azshari H sound almost the same but they're a little different, and I can't quite make them out entirely.
    Here is an unfinished interpretation of Zin-Azshari H
    Darnassian Lyrics:
    Ash'thero shandor
    Bandu Azshar'nor
    Ash'thero shandor
    Bandu
    Talah fandu

    • @tenshiinen
      @tenshiinen 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll just clarify I'm not entirely confident on my translations nor my lyrics. There's a few different things I had thought of but made no sense from our known Darnassian text.
      Here's some rambled thoughts and justifications on my translation that nobody will read! :D
      "Ash thero'shan dor" made no real sense
      "Ash'thero shan'do" also made no real sense
      "Ash'thera shan'dor" is a definite possibility as that word also can be translated to be words such as 'struggle' or 'revenge' or 'war', though the meaning ends up rather similar.
      "Bandu Asha dorei" Doesn't make much sense either
      I even tried something outlandish such as "Fandu ash adore" which didn't feel like it'd make much sense, although did make a "real" sentence.
      Part of why I went with "Azshar'dorei" was that the "Ash" from the first line sounds distinctly different from the "Azsh" in the second, almost like there's a Z in there. Plus it allows me to make a line that makes actual sense and is relevant to Zin'Azshari and Azshara.
      Same deal with the first line. I'm not sure what relevance honoured teachers(Thero'shan) and honoured students(Shan'do) has to do with the lore of Zin-Azshari, but restoring honour"Shan'dor" definitely sounds relevant, so it felt like a better translation. Meanwhile "Thero" can be interpreted mean someone who struggles or suffers, and "Ash" is similar to 'this' or 'those'.
      Therefore, "Ash'thero shan'dor". Literally, "Restore honour to those who struggle/suffer".
      "Talah fandu" in Zin-Azshari H is probably the line I'm most confident on the translation for, and makes perfect sense. If only I could make out the large orchestral section immediately after.
      Despite all this, I'm fairly certain this is a song about the pain of loss and how much Azshara wanted to save her people, that's clear enough just from listening to it.
      Or it's all gibberish that actually can't be translated. Blizz have been known to do that before...
      Most of my translations were gleaned from the WoWWiki speculation page for Darnassian, combined with my grammar knowledge of Thalassian.

But yeah, for someone it can be difficult to orientate without flying.

      When I think about what Nazjatar could have been, that's hard for me to totally like it. I was expecting a great underwater city, jewel of the Naga empire (something that could have looked like Suramar with a naga feeling), and all we have is some corals, ruins full of see weeds and a bit of naga buildings. Considering the fact that they had 10 000 years to build an empire, this is pretty disapointing. I however still hope we'll see one day the real Nazjatar, since Azshara is one of my favourite character from the story.

    • @slinttu1378
      @slinttu1378 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The hate was about all the systems they added, including Corruption like you mentioned, but not the effects themselves, but the way the corruption gear was obtained, it was way too RNG considering some Corruptions literally increased your DPS by like 30%. Blizzard did add a vendor for them after months, but the thing was that it was on a rotation, meaning only certain ones were up on the vendor every 4 days or so, for some reason, so you literally just had to wait there to have the chance to buy your corruption...
      Other systems like Azerite Armor, Azerite reforging, azerite grinding, just everything about Azerite was bad, although at the end of Bfa it got improved, but the developers sold Azerite Traits as something as impactful as Legendaries or Tier Set bonuses, which was not true for 90% of the specs, most were mediocre at best with no real change to your gameplay, like having the last ring on your Azerite gear literally have traits that increased your versatility or leech by 70.. creative...
      Also features like Island Expeditions and Warfronts which were main features of the expansion, proved to be some of the most boring content in the game where you mindlessly killed mobs until the bar on your screen filled up or until you reached the final boss, hence them already abandoning Warfronts after the first patch of Bfa and not adding new ones, despite having planned to have atleast 2 more.
      Also most of your DPS consisted of random procs and corruption effects which felt awful to play because even if someone played with the exact same gear as you, they could literally have double your damage because their Infinite Stars or Twilight Devastation procced more, didn't feel good, especially in raid... PvP was also terrible, every season they added some annoying insane absorb trinket or item which just felt awful to play against because everyone had them, plus Azerite traits which gave Absorb shields every 30 seconds. Also it felt like hitting my buttons did no damage outside of cooldowns. That and the constant absorb shields made it feel absolutely awful. Then skip forward to 8.3 where you can literally just get randomly one shot because some guy stacked 300 corruptions worth of Infinite Stars.
      The only good system in Bfa was Essences, they added dozens of new abilities and passives in one patch that were fun and they encouraged players to go do all types of content to get them, including me who farmed Random BGs for 4 days just to get my Blood of the Enemy which was op on my Outlaw rogue. Funny thing how you could change Essences in a rested area just by clicking on a different one, but then these developers insisted on having "meaningful choices" in Shadowlands AKA not being able to change Covenant abilities or Conduits without some dumb penalty. Though all those did get changed when they got that massive lawsuit on them, funny how things work huh.
