I had a lot of knee injuries over the past two years that really got me out of shape and put some weight on me. Three months ago I started running almost every day and I already see a huge difference in my stamina from only being able to run-walk two or three miles to being able to straight run 3 and sometime 4 miles, depending on how I fuel my run. I’ve already lost 22 pounds and am feeling great. Highly reccomend running
I recommend walking backwards on a treadmill at a 12-15% incline at 2-2.5 speed to help with the bad knees. Many videos on YT as well that are awesome for knee injuries
I’m not thinking about distance just time. I’m starting this running 30minutes a day as I do a lot of walking. Work up to 7 hours a week then think about distance and pace. I wish he would say how much time he runs a week. He says 65 miles, he probably doe a 3 hour marathon so that times 3 is 9 hours a week. Congrats losing 22pounds. Ps I talked to a uni guy and said leg strength supper good for injury prevention, he said he was doing 300pound deadlifts before he did his last iron man. Which was good to hear cause I want to get strong in the gym and good to hear it makes the running safer. So far the slow running feels rejuvenating!! So can take on more stress at work and have a way to dump the toxins hopefully
I admire anyone who has a family and can figure out how to carve out the time and stick to a schedule of such discipline and hard exercise and work. I just can’t seem to make it work for me, there are too many other things like family, kids, school events, work and just a few hours sleep to get more than 45 minutes a day of working out.
