When this game hit the arcades in 1986/87 it blew us all away. I'm 50 years old and can still remember the boom box on the top of this cabinet would blast the synth music for this game on full blast. It was a quarter eater game FOR SURE. Was always fun to see how far other people could get in the game that were better at it than you
As a kid I'd play this just to have the bees chase me, it was a game of mine to see how long I could last, that was on the PS2 release on Midway Arcade Treasures, unfortunately the arcade craze had already died down by the time I was born, but because of arcade collections like that I still experienced the gameplay, even if it wasn't on a cabinet
Reminds me of smoking terrible weed and playing this at the bowling alley every day. Finished it a couple of times. Longest game I could play on a quarter.
I said the exact same thing when I was playing this in the arcade last night! (One of those bars that has about 25 vintage coin op games). This was my favorite game as a kid in like '87
I used to play this many moons ago when I was a lot lot younger. I could do most things fine, but I didn't get what you were supposed to do once the bees chase you and went faster than you, or was it kind of if you don't have enough points already you are a goner pretty much?
Wow. This looks so much better than the NES version. Even as a kid I thought the NES game was bad. This looks so much better while the NES version is a bland mess. ❤❤
So this was pretty much Skate or Die on arcade with a different name. I wonder how neither company got sued by the other. Maybe just because they weren't available on the same platforms?
"PlasticCog Liquid passed away peacefully on [date] at [location]. In addition to many decades of contributions to nanotechnology, environmental science and international diplomacy, they may be most remembered for the 1991 high score on the 720 arcade cabinet at Timberwood Grill in Pigeon Forge, TN..."
i made another 720 video after this one and in that one im pretty sure i performed better than in this one but yeah i will admit i sucked real bad at the downhill park here
This was by far my favorite single-player arcade game.

The only game I beat at the arcade I love this game thanks for putting this up

Played this game on the original xbox when I was about 7 years old. Hearing skate or die scares me to this day
For the longest time, I thought this game was called Skate or Die.
Me too
Well, there is skate or die 1 & 2 on NES. And Gameboy.
same here
B is for Bronze, S is for Silver and G is for Gold 🥉🥈🥇

I always loved the music on the downhill section.

Thanks for bringing back memories!
Damn, The music looks pretty impressive for an 80's arcade game
Before tony hawks pro skater there was this
even before the GBA versions of THPS games.
damn I used to ROCK this machine I wish I could have played on here but cool to see again I am wanting to put my quarters up to get next game BAD
Play it on the GameCube! Midway arcade treasures 1 is how I got introduced to the game.
@@nicememe8608 Same I’m playing it rn
I grew up pumping quarters into this game at Kona Skate park in Jacksonville FL in the 80's.
Love the vocal sound clips to this
"t a k e i t e a s y"
Ahead of its time. This was Pitfall with XYZ vector directional control. I sucked at it badly, but it was so fun, and it was $0.25 per play.
This needs a remake for sure!
THE BEES BECAME SCISSORS ? 12:44

Favorite NES game of all-time!🙂
I don’t get about the bees chasing after you. What did the character do to them? Was he curesd?
Now it's reality, it's in the Summer Olympics! Bout' time!
I had the high score on a machine in Pidgeon Forge, TN for the longest time

You’re about as good as I was. Except you are doing the downhill wrong.

I remember this game and my local arcade

I won this game on one quarter multiple times
0:01 *DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING*
One of the least great examples of gameplay for this game.
my younger brother practiced skate years ago 🛹 and my cousin practiced too
You’re not very good at this game brah
