    This is a top 5 hike for me. This video brought back a lot of memories. My friend and I did this hike after finding out the narrows was closed. It had just rained and the creek crossings were waste deep in some areas. Those pools at the end were gorgeous but that was THE coldest water I've ever been in. Extremely beautiful area and definitely a bucket list hike for anyone who wants to do this. The banner on my channel page is from this hike, in front of the falls you showed. Water was flowing! Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful adventure.

    Nice video! We did this bottom up hike when the temps were much cooler. But the water levels were lower as well. Based on your reaction to the heat on return hike, I think I will stick to October timeframe if we do the bottom up again. We didn't have the gear with us, lest we would have preferred to take the Top Down approach. Have fun on your next adventure!

      Thanks for watching! yes ideally avoid the very hot months if possible, although im sure the water is really cold in October. You probably wouldn't want to swim to see the waterfall.

    Wow, what incredible beauty landscape this is. Thank you for taking us there.
    I would love to paint some of the views from the tube, may I get your permit to do so? TIA

    How do you like the altra lone peaks? Ive been seeing that the durability is low.

    • @trailandtravel
      @trailandtravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I really enjoy them for desert hikes. They do wear down a little quick, but they always seem to have enough grip to get the job done. They are a little bit thin when it comes to rough and rocky terrain.

    What shoes and socks are you wearing? 😊

    • @trailandtravel
      @trailandtravel  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was wearing Feeture socks and a pair of Altra lone peak 6, nothing fancy! just make sure your shoes have good grip. walking in the stream gets little slippery sometimes!

      @@trailandtravel I just finished the hike in mid 90s temps. Was wearing Salomon’s and neoprene socks. I absolutely tip my hat to you for doing that in 117 degrees.

    I have a permit to do this in September 2024 but I don't have anyone to go with me. It would be my first solo hike and I wouldn't call my super experienced. Would you recommend skipping it or going for it?

    • @trailandtravel
      @trailandtravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's absolutely doable solo. I would check the weather before you go and plan accordingly. If it's going to be hot, id start well before the sun comes up, the climb out is exposed and difficult in the sun. It's such an incredible hike though. Id get some training in before hand but its absolutely doable.

      @hendrick87 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @trailandtravel I'm worried about getting lost. Ive never done a trail that wasn't clearly marked. Did you use any apps like AllTrails or anything for navigation?

    • @trailandtravel
      @trailandtravel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@hendrick87 Yes I used all trails to help navigate. It's not too hard to navigate. you just follow the river most of the time.
