I don't think any individual loading time is that bad but when you get into back to back battles after a while it does make you think how much of your play time has been waiting for it to load
It seems as bad if not worse than the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger where they had to loads every battle transition and screen transition up to 3 secs.
@@jaretco6423Honestly same. For as generic Paper Jam is, it at least didn’t drag on for so long like Dream Team did. DT took me 43 hours to beat while PJ only took me 19 hours to beat, about the same length as TTYD & Bowser’s Inside Story. Hell even Brothership didn’t last so long like Dream Team did. Brothership took me 35 hours to beat as opposed to 43 hours. Dream Team just dragged man. I know I’m definitely in the minority here, but that’s just the way how I feel about Dream Team.
@metashade4218 Yeah. For an Mario & Luigi game, that's too long. I don't mind if that added some length just as long as they options for side fetch or something. But not only is the pacing so bad that you can't skip it, but the battles are even slow and I hate some of the Bros. Moves that involves gyroscope.
I agree that comparatively it feels like it doles out the upgrades at around the same rate as the older games, it’s just that the general speed of Brothership is so much slower than a game like Superstar Saga that it just feels way longer. Still, I’m just about three seas in and I’m feeling like it’s finally hitting its stride now. This is the Twilight Princess of Mario & Luigi in terms of pacing, while also being the Wind Waker of M&L in terms of general vibe and setting.
Absolutely loving this game! Amazing gameplay, the characters and story are charming and surprisingly heartfelt, and the game looks gorgeous. Definitely give the game a shot if you're even slightly interested.
I’m guessing by my game map that I’m about halfway through, I agree that the beginning is an absolute slog. I think this game is the longest it’s taken Mario and Luigi to get hammers and the first bros attack. Luckily it picks up soon after that, but if I already wasn’t a fan of the series I’m worried I may have stopped before then. Combats great, I love the battle plugs, good replacement for badges/battle cards/etc. Music is just fine, hope Shimomura can return for the next project because she’s just so good at writing music. I honestly am ok with Luigi’s movement in the overworld. It’s a different concept than before, but having Luigi grab turnips or smash boxes while Mario is talking to NPCs is honestly a pretty cool idea to me. They should definitely switch him to the B button for battle menus though, it’s pretty messed to switch his button for two presses and then swap it back. Overall, I think I prefer BiS and Dream Team over it, but Brothership is a solid game, especially for a team who is at least somewhat new to the series. Hope the series continues.
Out of the blue all the time I think back to Super Mario Galaxy and how as Mario you save Luigi in the one boo galaxy. I remember after getting the 120 stars and unlocking the Luigi mode how much I anticipated finding Mario as Luigi in that galaxy. I was so excited for it. Then I got to that galaxy... and I saved Luigi as Luigi. I cried and wheezed from laughter for probably half an hour. I wish that would happen in every Mario game. A bit off-topic, but I always wanted some funny cameos like that and content further implemented into the Mario & Luigi series.
4:14 Thanks for featuring my comment Daniel! The game is so charming, but yeah, the humor is either not hitting, or not really an emphasis like in previous entries. I think in general there's been a decline from the first game to the most recent, and I kind of contribute it to the form factor of each game. Something about the snappy delivery of text and poppy animation between sprites in Superstar Saga really heightened the silliness in a way that higher res visuals either can't quite emulate, or they aren't focusing on those aspects as much. Love this format for a video btw, great to see everyone's opinions!
I wouldn't necessarily say it's the "same ol M&L", since the last few Mario & Luigi games before AlphaDream's closure definitely drove the formula into the ground (and I'm including the remakes in that statement), while this new game has the same "spirit" of the other games while making some changes that feel refreshing in comparison, particularly with how this game handles Luigi.
Definitely not a Mario&Luigi fan, so I don't have any opinion on the game itself. But Daniel's take on reviews is spot on, I think. They're kind of stupid, because they're entirely subjective and biased by their very nature. The best reviewers do what they can to mitigate their personal bias, but you can never get rid of it entirely. So, like Daniel said, find reviewers you can trust, whose tastes are similar to yours. That way, whether they like or dislike a game can be a good indication on how you'll feel about it.
Man, I wish I saw rhe Bluesky post about this, I've been using that more often. I'll make sure to give you guys a follow there. As for my thoughts, I beat the game 100%, so I have some words to say. I absolutely feel like a lot of these negatives may be sinple growing pains from being a new developer on the franchise. Perhaps Acquire didn't realize how intuitive Luigi's command blocks being B really was, so they thought to themselves that having a uniform confirm and select button would be easier to get to grips with. Maybe they wanted to try something different with automated Luigi and it just didn't pan out like people wanted. Afaik, no one in charge of the story or pacing worked on the prior games and they didn't realize how important especially those first few hours are, because after the first 3-5 hours but before the last 5 or so, I feel like the game got REALLY good. I think the new music isn't bad, it's just not Yoko and her style of music. The performance is- ok actually I can't see an excuse for that, the loading screens start to add up, there's loading screens in places I never thought there would be loading screens, and while I never once had a problem with frame drops during my first 60 hours (out of 70), once I got to ppst-5th sea content, god it started to absolutely chug on the overworld. I fully agree that Luigi needs to control better in general and that pacing and performance is probably the games biggest issue. Some decisions really do feel baffling, honestly. But I honest to god believe that they have something truly special in their hands. I love the battle system, and they absolutely nailed the enemy patterns and attacks right out of the gate. I absolutely adore this art style. I think that this is the most ambitious Mario story a game in general has tried to tell, and while I personally thought the villains didn't have their full potential realized by the end, I really dig the rest of the cast that start to join the ship and play a fairly active role throughout the story. One thing that I feel not many people talk about is how good the side quests are. They feel like a natural extension of the story and all have enough varience to them that I never really got bored of them. I'm not a fan of numerical scores, but I absolutely feel this game is worth a shot. Personally, Brothership is now my 3rd favorite game in the series, above Dream Team but below SS and Bis. I hope the series continues and improves upon this entry by listening to criticism.
Having gotten farther into the game without actually finishing it yet, I can safely say, despite the slow start and sluggish pacing at times (plus a rather excessive amount of pointless cutscenes that, admittedly, you can skip), this really might be one of the best games in the Mario & Luigi series. It's really funny, especially if you go for certain sidequests, and the characters are likeable and memorable in their own, unique way. The branching paths make your choices feel important while also adding to replayability, and I like the various new things they added like the Battle Plugs system or having Luigi Logic during certain boss battles. It feels like a bold new start for a revived Mario & Luigi series, and if it does continue after this, I hope it keeps on this same path while improving on various little things (since there are a lot of minor gripes I have with the game that didn't really deter from my enjoyment of the game).
My take on Brothership is positive. While it has issues and not quite on the same level of goodness as say Superstar Saga or Bowser's Inside Story, it still has plenty of positive experience that outweighs the bad and it's better than Partners in Time, Dream Team & Paper Jam.
I've never felt like I've had to push myself to get through a game like I have with this one. But once you do you get an ok experience, I wish they had ported the bowsers inside story 3ds remake so that there was some more options on switch
loading times, however short, still adds up over the course of a 40+ hour RPG. I played Octopath 2 on my ps5 and it was just instant loading. Just think about the amount of time that saved over the Switch version where every screen transition, battles and just cold boot takes up like 10+ seconds every instance.
Just wanted to say, I’m REALLY enjoying the game so far, but as for how the game handles Luigi, I’m a bit mixed. On the one hand, he’s given more to do, with the “Luigi Logic” being used to have him come up with solutions to problems and even help out during boss battles. I also like the combined attacks for the hammer and jump moves, it helps emphasize that Mario and Luigi are stronger together l, even without the Bros. Attacks/Moves. However, I can’t help but feel that the teamwork Mario and Luigi have on the Overworld is a bit more disconnected than in previous games. You can still make Luigi jump with B (and press Y for his hammer), but there’s no real reason to do so when Luigi automatically jumps as he follows you. In fact, while it is cool that you can make Luigi do things by pressing the L button, the fact that Luigi is controlled by an AI makes it feel less like Mario and Luigi are exploring the world together and more like you’re controlling Mario and Luigi just happens to be there to. It clashes a bit with the messaging of Mario and Luigi having a deep connection and are working with one-another throughout this adventure. That, and having the A button be used to select stuff as Luigi in battle when he uses B ever other time really throws me off, I messed up so many action commands because muscle memory kept messing me up there. Still, those are nitpicks, I think the game is solid as a whole.
I'm nearly done with the game, and I STILL mess up and forget to push B for Luigi's attack after selecting with A. Beyond that and a few other things, I'm having a blast with the game.
I’m very mixed on it so far. The story development is dull, the characters aren’t very interesting, the dialogue feels too friendly and lacks that edge it had before. Hot take but I while the battle system is really fun, I don’t really like the mini bros moves for jumps and hammers, I think it’s too slow compared to how quick battles were in the older games. I’m not a big fan of the visuals, it does look nice in places but I would’ve much preferred a more pixel art (Bowsers Inside Story is peak for the visuals imo). I’ll probably finish it but I’m not enjoying it as much as I thought I would. After 12 hours I would give it a 6/10
That IGN review (which seemed fair and well written) is influencing all online discourse about this game in one way or another. We need to rely on our own judgment on this one.
I have really been enjoying my time with it and look forward to my play sessions. I'm also adding a boss fight with Foreman Spike would fit really well in this game/franchise.
I’m about 2/3 through it by content (25 hours by time) and I think a lot of the criticisms are warranted the deeper I’m getting into it. Although I’m having a good time for sure it is clearly way too long for its own good. Also my wife saw me playing Brothership last night and was upset I was playing without her because she assumed looking at it that it was coop 😅
I just started the game today, less than an hour in, but so far honestly it’s reminding me of superstar saga in ways, which is my favorite in the series. So I’m looking forward to continuing. I would agree with everyone though that Luigi having the A button is wack
My only gripes are the slow start, taking a while to get bros moves and plug buffs, the load times between battles and barely any bosses compared to previous games. Shame they didn't do an “Ask the Developer” interview for this game, I'd really like to know how long it's been in development and how involved the former Alpha Dream staff was in its creation, whether they pitched it or if Nintendo came looking for them at their new companies. It's such a big and ambitious game I wouldn't be surprised if it started development shortly after AlphaDream went bankrupt.
Finished it today! Had a great time with the entire game. I especially like the way the how characters, old and new, interacted with rach other. I wouldn't say masterpiece, but for me, definitely a great game that will stick to my mind!
A little bummed to hear some of these criticisms. I haven’t played it yet (it’s on my Christmas list) but the humor and the Yoko Shimomura music were huge draws of the first few games. Long load times sound rough too.
19:22 To be honest this depends mostly on how experienced someone else is with other consoles. If someone only plays on Switch I’m sure the load times are not a big deal, but someone jumping between a PS5/PC and the Switch is going to feel them.
I was seriously hoping it had couch co-op so I could play with my brother...It seemed like such an obvious selling point! It would have taken a lot of extra effort to get it to work well, but it still seems like such a missed opportunity.
Back on handhelds, 'Why Can't we Play Co-op' was often dismissed because, from Partners in Time onward, Mario and Luigi did not have the capacity to separate. So the game would need to severely be reworked in its puzzle design to accommodate a two player mode. And also the act of connecting would require two systems and two copies of the game. This switch game doesn't have either caveat so the omission feels several times more glaring. This is the problem with new developers tackling an established franchise, they don't look at the limitations of previous games for ways to add meaningful design choices.
I think they also play safe to the franchise. It's 9 years of absence in this franchise, so it kinda understandable. But, I wish they see the comments, and add co-op in the next one.
I don’t give much stock to review score numbers, but seeing mostly 6s and 7s, only a couple 8s and not even a single 9 (let alone 10), bums me out man, with how much I love Mario RPGs. I’m certain I’ll enjoy it myself when I do finally get around to it, but I’m not as excited anymore.
My verdict so far, the opening 4 hours are boring as fuck and almost made me just stop BUT i kept it pushing and im enjoying it more as it goes on. Also yeah i miss yoko, the new guy he has done pokemon mystery dungeon but some of the music is pretty forgettable here
I finished the game and would give it an 8/10. Really great comeback for the Mario & Luigi series overall but some tiny nitpicks hold it back. The Luigi B button thing in battle + load times + slow intro section + some excess padding in the story are the main drawbacks. Even with those negatives, the game itself was still fantastic and I enjoyed exploring Concordia.
The trolls are triggered by the mere mention of Bluesky 😂😂😂 They aren't heard on the Bluesky platform since they aren't tolerated there, so they complain anywhere else about it!
Pros: -Nice graphics -Excellent animation -Deeper combat -Many interesting systems at play, like plugs Cons: -Takes forever to get going -Animations are great but it gets tedious watching them over and over -Some enemies are real damage sponges and take a long time to dispatch despite being regular field enemies -Way too much yapping from uninteresting characters saying nothing of value in unskippable cutscenes -Performance ranges from poor to atrocious -Far too much loading Overall it's good, higher than a damn 5, but its a game that does not respect your time which is unfortunately common among jrpgs. Still worth a play and I'm having a better time with it than dream team.
Out of the way, this game is a 8/10 for me. The obvious knocks against it like the performance, Luigi’s command schemes, it’s pacing issues, and it’s underwhelming ostensibly do a lot in terms of holding it back. Yet, a key thing I want to address when people criticized its cast or narrative is what makes me feel that people aren’t getting what they expect. Previous entries captained by alphadream aren’t completely here for Brothership, so it’s hard for me to compare that style with this entry that’s on console, not handheld. The theme of connections are the heart of this game. I loved that (even though it affects the performance) loved that shipshape grew as a community. You may not know everyone’s names, but they do have plenty of characterization in dialogue. The gossipy ladies near the warp pipe who all are snarky, but give hints to side quest. There’s the Twistee island residents who have very artistic pursuits, where any time you’re on another island you’ve connected, if they talk about what inspires them, you instantly recognize they’re from Twistee island. Or, any from Lottacoins, which is obvious from their business suits or being overworked. You know that archetype, but you know where they’re from, what they represent. The entire Chillham and Bernadette relationship being an entire arc, culminating in everyone you met showing up to the wedding. Even small bits like the little kid near the uni-tree watching things grow in the community, or the wisdom from the fisherman, Issa Rock’s reefs, Arc’s Arc with rescuing his father, Connie’s being having to travel up the great lighthouse and almost doing a Final Fantasy like Ritual that purifies, Technikki’s inferiority complex as an inventor compared to the person she lost to in a science competition (and a nod to her interests in impressive girls, but being so scientifically minded and awkward) The brothers from allsand island being parallels to the Mario bros. The list goes on. They really stuck with me on this adventure, and bonds really define themselves in the end, which really completes the package.
I noticed the writing picks up roughly around the same time the gameplay does, when you meet the extension corps and get battle plugs. I didnt really find myself laughing at all up until then.
This was nice to see a variety of opinions on Brothership (and would like to see this again), but I do want to push back on that final point about whether reviews matter by making fun of IGN's review. I feel like if someone claimed that GVG's opinions can't be trusted because your channel gave The Plucky Squire got too high of a score, I don't think those on staff who didn't care for that game as much would appreciate being grouped together. I think what this exercise did was show how subjective a numbered score can be when something that's unacceptable for one person could be seen as not a big deal by another.
@Nahobinoah So basically don't engage with the game to play the game. Hate this mindset. They'll cater to people that barely play the game but the ones that want fun get to kick rocks.
Metacritic gave it an 80 which is about right I've always enjoyed Paper Mario more, I find the combat good in Brothership but I think the puzzles and back tracking suck
19:34 Yo no way who is that????????? Fr tho really appreciated that you included my comment! I know the story and characters are in a bit of divisive place right now and I can see why some might be put off. The writing isn't as quirky or exaggerated as in previous games, but I thought what was here was cute and endearing (Some parts genuinely made me laugh out loud). Technikki is a notable favorite of mine as you see her growth and the introduction of her rival. Especially by the latter half of the game and especially endgame I was seated all the way and it's one of my favorite gaming experiences in recent memory. This is the most deep a Mario story has gotten since arguably Super Paper Mario (In fact theh even shares similar themes) , and I played that game and once regarded it as my favorite Mario story (I also really love the Mario Adventures comics)
My comment on Bluesky was the same as Thomas', more or less. Soundtrack was weak with the weakest battle themes in the series. Really brought down the experience for me. The battle themes have always had a frenetic energy to them that's been replaced by something... way too chill. They leaned very hard into seafaring aesthetics with the music (brass and a *lot* of accordion) and it's a detriment. Also, for a game where the major characters are themed around electrical equipment, there should've been *some* degree of electronic music. I figure that the SMRPG remake and Brothership were in development at the same time. And given Yoko Shimomura seems to be working on KH4, she probably had to choose between the two and picked the remake.
Was really hoping to like it because I loved all the past games but this one just did not do it for me. Felt slow and boring, load times before and after battles, and didn’t really like the characters or story.
What I don’t get is how a series like Final Fantasy can completely change genres and everyone praises it as a bold new thing, but Mario and Luigi changes a few things while trying to keep what makes the series good there and everyone treats it like a failure. I know they’re different series, but one of those situations feels more genuine to the source and it’s not Final Fantasy.
The thing is, FF16 got some roasted too in their community (at least in Reddit), and Mario & Luigi (at least in Reddit) are positive than I thought. I think there is every type in every community.
I'll be brutal: I think this is the most overhated game in history. Like, I've had a ton of fun with it, aside of some nitpicks (like Luigi's selection not anymore with the B button, or some the loading times), it's still the same Mario & Luigi I always knew and loved. I honestly have no idea of why it's hated so much. Gamers and reviewers have become really messed up in the last years....
It is quite funny how Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi have swapped in the humor department. Paper Mario used to be a little less jokesy (until Sticker Star tried really hard to be funny, then Color Splash fully succeeded) while M&L (especially Superstar Saga) had very punchy dialogue.
I like going to Metacritic. Easier to see where the outliers are and see where everyone else stands. Even better that a fan base gets together to rate a game
See Bluesky taking over from where Twitter once stood The world may be healing little by little Edit: why and how did this become political? All I wanted to say was seeing Bluesky be a little more mainstream was pretty neat.
The whole B button in battle with Luigi is being blown up. Yes i get having muscle memory for it, and yes i mess it up alot as well, but its honestly not something that should take away from the game. Its not that hard to adjust to.
Its bluesky. Its where all the cowards and beta’s ran too once trump won the election, crying how they don’t want to be on elon’s platform. Its literally a toxic safe space for weirdos
I am surprised how much a single IGN review has riled the public up. I remember last year when the new Spongebob game got mixed reviews, there was a big kerfuffle, but I guess Mario is a different beast since it's been over two weeks, and I still see people talking about it
@@Fooza05 You say that but I'm about 10 hours in and while it's certainly gotten better...I still think it's one of the weakest entries in the series. I agree people will eventually move on, but then again I also remember the wars the Paper Mario community has had surrounding it, and it is troubling.
2:11 dream team last game, YUP that's totally the case, there is no such thing as a M&L game featuring any kind of paper. Just a collective marinda effect
The load times aren't that bad. But ive been playing games for a long time and load times used to be a lot worse. I do love how the bros interact as well as their animations. But... The Soundtrack is good but not memorable. UI feels bland. Writing is bland. I like what the story is trying to do, but its not quite landing it. Its vary slow paced. Battles drag on too long. Oh but i do LOVE luigi logic! I think its a great addition and i was always very happy whenever it came up. Its not a bad game. Its just... eh. I'm almost 9 hours in, about to wrap up the second sea and I'm struggling to find the motivation to keep going. I heard it gets better in the 3rd sea but I've never accepted the "it gets good half way in" argument. Well, let me try putting it this way. For me its important that a game be replayable. Even if I do beat brothership i don't think I'll ever play it again.
My only gripe it's with the Final Boss, an epic final boss with all the spectacle that the series always has, BUT the music GOD it fell flat SO bad, the final boss phases music they're so generic and boring, literally the worst final boss themes of the entire series, the absense of Yoko Shimomura really hurt in that department.
For me, Super Star Saga is the gold standard when it comes to this series. Idk if the new team even bothered to play it before making Brothership, but they need to consider playing thru the older games before making the next one. 7/10 for me
I just beat it last night. I wanted to like it, I really did. But this game just kept dragging and dragging and dragging on. It does that thing, TWICE, where you think you've reached the end but NOPE. More fetch quest, more revisiting almost every island you've already been to. It was padding and fluffing just for the sake of padding and fluffing. The developers obviously didn't plan this out. Side quests aside, this game definitely over stayed it's welcome. My play time was at 60 hours and thats doing everything. This game is mid and anyone that doesn't think so, clearly hasn't beaten it yet. If anyone still think the game is great, just wait till you reached near the end. Incredibly disappointing game.
Also the Soundtrack in this in this game is easily the up there with Superstar saga. Its better than all of the other Mario & Luigi games after the first. The battle theme and Boss battle theme are catchy and memorable.
I think the brother designs look incredible, so vibrant and eye catching. What I don’t like is the new character designs, they are all so boring and uninspired.
I'm gonna be honest, I love the GVG crew--Jon, Derrick, Ash, and everybody. I loved them back when they were at GameXplain. But I have a genuine question, and I'm not asking it to start drama or to play victim or anything like that. I know the idea behind the name "Good Vibes Gaming" is for this to be a safe space for minorities, gay, trans, etc. I respect and also support your desire to make this an inclusive channel and think it's a good thing. That said, I've followed most of you on Twitter for a long time, so I've read your tweets, your re-tweets, and more recently, some of your Blue Sky posts. I've seen you guys call Republicans "fascists" and all the other dehumanizing buzzwords. What I want to know is whether your channel is welcoming for someone like myself who is openly a Trump supporter. The reason being is that I've had other, more Liberal, channels I'm subscribed to make it abundantly clear that they'd just as soon I unsubscribe from their channel. Personally, I don't let politics stop me from enjoying my favorite content creators, as we all have our own, subjective experiences which are just as valid. I think we have a lot to learn from each other through open communication and discussion of ideas. I think we can find a lot more common ground than we think. Kamala Harris herself said multiple times throughout her campaign that she believes Americans have more in common than we have differences. (Except Jon, cause he's British, lol.) So, I dunno. I've been struggling a lot with my mental health and think it would be best to purge the channels I'm subscribed to that are openly hostile to my values and beliefs. I consider myself Independent and not a far-Right Conservative or anything; I support gun restriction laws and affordable college tuition and medical care, for example. But I'm also a Christian who is pro-life and has a more traditional view on things like marriage and gender. I don't believe in harassing anyone who is a part of the LGBTQ+ community, as that does not embody the teachings of Jesus. But I do believe in the tenets of the Bible. So, if you're okay with someone like me in your community, I'll gladly stay. But I don't want to waste my time in a place where I'm not welcome, if you really do view me as a hateful bigot for my views. It doesn't matter who I get a response from, whether it's Jon or Derrick or Ash or Steve or Brandon or even just other members of the community at large. I just want the closure of knowing definitively what my reception would be in this community if I don't hide it anymore and just be my authentic self and remain true to my values. If you want me gone, I won't contest it. Anyways, much love to everybody here. I wish you all the best and am thankful for the years of enjoyable content you guys have put out over the years.
@daplay0 Bill Maher makes a pretty good case on the inconsistencies between Stormy Daniels' testimonies over the years and how she once described their interactions as consensual when he interviewed her on his show back in, I believe, 2018. She says, "It's not a me too thing, I wasn't raped, I wasn't sexually assaulted." It's out there on TH-cam, you can watch the interview for yourself and come to your own conclusion. I disagree with Bill Maher's views on a lot of things, including my religion, but I respect that he often looks at things from an open-minded, objective point of view and isn't afraid to call out things he feels are unjust within his own party. Sexual assault happens, and it's sickening. I don't condone it in any way, shape, or form. But, unfortunately, there are also those out there who would lie about it, which makes it harder for real victims to be believed when they speak up. With someone who is as politically polarizing and in such a position of power and influence as Trump, there are a lot of people who would want to bring him down by any means necessary. He's far from the only politician to be accused of rape on either the Right or the Left--take, for example, the alleged diary written by Biden's daughter. In many cases, it's really just the accuser's word against the alleged predator without substantial evidence, at which point it comes down to the political biases of the judge and jury. I think plenty of Liberals would agree that we have a corrupt judicial system. Think of all the African-Americans who have been unfairly incarcerated over the years, for example. Sometimes judges get paid off, among other shady activities. Personally, I haven't seen any substantial evidence to convince me that Trump is a rapist, but if anyone can provide me with credible sources, I'm more than willing to take a look at them. I'm open to being proven wrong. I tried to educate myself as much as possible before voting, though. I read a lot of unsavory things about Kamala that were a lot more verifiable that turned me off from voting for her. For instance, when she was prosecutor, an innocent black mother was incarcerated for over a year because her daughter had a truancy on her from school; this was not the mother's fault, as her daughter was hospitalized due to suffering from a serious medical disorder that caused seizures, among other things. I don't know for sure that Trump is a sexual abuser, but I do know that Harris tore innocent black families apart. (This is also a good example of how the judicial system often fails and how just because someone is convicted doesn't mean they're actually guilty.) I'd be glad to answer any other good-faith questions. I unfortunately can't link to sources because TH-cam deletes URL's, but the claims I've made can be easily verified with a little independent research. Thanks.
Hate to tell you this but you can't say you support minorities and be a Trump supporter. I think I speak on behalf of anyone here with a conscience, go away.
@@nintentrovertI have to say that im not american), I appreciate your willingness to debate in a respectful way, but I really dont get how you can ignore the lies donald trump tells and the way he acts, even if you're a conservative. From a non-american perspective it really is unthinkable that people vote for someone like Donald Trump. And he IS a convicted felon.
@@sushii8984 Does the majority of the country who voted for him also not have a conscience--including minorities? Trump had almost half the Hispanic vote, around 65% of the Native American vote, and many more people in the black and gay communities voted for Trump than in 2020. The most predominantly Muslim city in the US also voted for Trump, saying that even if there's a 99% chance Trump will keep the war in Gaza going, it's still better than the 100% chance Democrats will keep it going.
I've tried to finish BIS so many times now but the hand holding and how slow it is always ends up putting me off. Boy i didnt know pain, brothership is a beautiful looking game i just wish it was a better one, hope people don't start praising this one too, M&L really peaked in Superstar Saga Edit: the hell's wrong with Americans, everyone's discussing politics instead of the game lol
I don't think any individual loading time is that bad but when you get into back to back battles after a while it does make you think how much of your play time has been waiting for it to load
It seems as bad if not worse than the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger where they had to loads every battle transition and screen transition up to 3 secs.
Yea it does add up and it's irritating making me want to avoid battles.
My only and main issue with this game is how long most actions take
Thematically, the game only gets stronger as it goes on.
That's one thing i really, really appreciated.
Dream Team was the last?
Paper Jam: Am I a joke to you?
Yes. Yes you are.
Hot take. But I like Paper Jam more than Dream Team.
@jaretco6423 it's okay. i was mostly joking. I thought it was funny when he said Dream Team was the previous Mario And Luigi.
@@jaretco6423 Not to mention Paper Jam wasn’t so handholdy & tutorial heavy like Dream Team was.
Twilight Princess is best Zelda, no wonder I like Brothership
Not looking to discredit the IGN review but man people give too much stock in that one review.
Nah OST is 🔥🔥🔥....def be having some of the tracks on my mind
I'm maybe into 45% of it ..and for better or worse it's the same ol M&L we've grown to know and love.
@@Rubberman202That's a good way to put it. The fact it brings the series in a different direction was necessary.
Is the loading that bad? Don't think I ever noticed.
I mean, the load times are no better or worse than any other Switch game I've played.
It does have the best story once you get towards the last sea, untouchable. It’s so dark like PiT- it’s amazing
That Shipshape Island music though.
No arguments here (from any sane person anyway)
I’m really happy Mario and Luigi is back I hope too pick up Brothership someday.
This game has gotten the Origami King treatment, and it's infuriating. Because this game is quite good.
I'm nearly done with the game, and I STILL mess up and forget to push B for Luigi's attack after selecting with A. Beyond that and a few other things, I'm having a blast with the game.
Partners in time just from the vibe alone wishes and begs to be Brothership.
Nice use of a social media platform that hasn’t become a complete cesspool!
After 12 hours I would give it a 6/10
Good video! Also, I just noticed your Fuwamoco chair cover - nice!
That IGN review (which seemed fair and well written) is influencing all online discourse about this game in one way or another. We need to rely on our own judgment on this one.
I swear people are inflating their score in response to this
Thank you so much for the feature!!!
Cool video. Love to see all the different perspectives. I saw that IGN review, and I immediately was worried.
I have really been enjoying my time with it and look forward to my play sessions.
I'm also adding a boss fight with Foreman Spike would fit really well in this game/franchise.
thay did vr virtual with Splatoon 3 side order now with this game
This is a great format, hope it returns in the future!
Daniel cut his finger I see.
Daniel my man ! It’s great to see you

Everyone who has a switch please buy and play this game like your life depends on it
My verdict so far, the opening 4 hours are boring as fuck and almost made me just stop BUT i kept it pushing and im enjoying it more as it goes on.
The trolls are triggered by the mere mention of Bluesky 😂😂😂
They aren't heard on the Bluesky platform since they aren't tolerated there, so they complain anywhere else about it!
And unlike what trolls say, it's not censorship. They're just rightfully shunned.
But you went out of your way to write a comment about them so the trolling worked I guess?
Pros:
-Nice graphics
-Excellent animation
-Deeper combat
-Many interesting systems at play, like plugs
Cons:
-Takes forever to get going
-Animations are great but it gets tedious watching them over and over
-Some enemies are real damage sponges and take a long time to dispatch despite being regular field enemies
-Way too much yapping from uninteresting characters saying nothing of value in unskippable cutscenes
-Performance ranges from poor to atrocious
-Far too much loading
Overall it's good, higher than a damn 5, but its a game that does not respect your time which is unfortunately common among jrpgs. Still worth a play and I'm having a better time with it than dream team.
i love how mainstream bluesky is becoming recently
Will you still feel that way once us "deplorables" follow you to bluesy and petition Elon to buy it
Out of the way, this game is a 8/10 for me.
I stand by what I said haha. load times are just too long for me. Honestly I’m in no rush to play this so I might wait for switch 2 after all
This was nice to see a variety of opinions on Brothership (and would like to see this again), but I do want to push back on that final point about whether reviews matter by making fun of IGN's review.
My main gripe is the game feels easier than past entries. But the plot and story and music are good
don't upgrade your equipment and it is hard
@Nahobinoah
So basically don't engage with the game to play the game.
Hate this mindset.
They'll cater to people that barely play the game but the ones that want fun get to kick rocks.
@HeilRay I mainly just meant defence
you then have to be better at dodging or you'll die quickly
I truly hope that the patch the button issue, at least during fights
This is the most deep a Mario story has gotten since arguably Super Paper Mario (In fact theh even shares similar themes) , and I played that game and once regarded it as my favorite Mario story (I also really love the Mario Adventures comics)
great review but also I see that Fuwamoco chair XD
I dunno; I've gotten a few good belly laughs outta it
I like going to Metacritic. Easier to see where the outliers are and see where everyone else stands. Even better that a fan base gets together to rate a game

Because in general people like this game. This reminds me of Dream Team's launch tbh since that game was also fairly divisive.
I am surprised how much a single IGN review has riled the public up. I remember last year when the new Spongebob game got mixed reviews, there was a big kerfuffle, but I guess Mario is a different beast since it's been over two weeks, and I still see people talking about it
@@itshobojoe1391 people just tend to hyper focus on the negative stuff. I'd say give it a couple of months lol
@@Fooza05 You say that but I'm about 10 hours in and while it's certainly gotten better...I still think it's one of the weakest entries in the series.
It's too bad this game and thousand year door sold poorly. I bought all 3 RPGs. I hope they all make a comeback too with new games in the series. 😢
Ok
I think it’s really awesome
My only gripe it's with the Final Boss, an epic final boss with all the spectacle that the series always has, BUT the music GOD it fell flat SO bad, the final boss phases music they're so generic and boring, literally the worst final boss themes of the entire series, the absense of Yoko Shimomura really hurt in that department.
Holy crap, I'm here?!!!

I think we have a lot to learn from each other through open communication and discussion of ideas. I think we can find a lot more common ground than we think. Kamala Harris herself said multiple times throughout her campaign that she believes Americans have more in common than we have differences. (Except Jon, cause he's British, lol.)
So, I dunno.
I wish you all the best and am thankful for the years of enjoyable content you guys have put out over the years.
how can you openly support a convicted sex offender?
(This is also a good example of how the judicial system often fails and how just because someone is convicted doesn't mean they're actually guilty.)
I'd be glad to answer any other good-faith questions.
Boy i didnt know pain, brothership is a beautiful looking game i just wish it was a better one, hope people don't start praising this one too, M&L really peaked in Superstar Saga
Edit: the hell's wrong with Americans, everyone's discussing politics instead of the game lol
