  • Tad Milmine shares his heart-wrenching story of growing up with abuse and neglect while also struggling with mental illness. Holding onto the dream of one day becoming a Police Officer is what helped him survive. To achieve that dream was one thing, but Tad would learn that there would be much more in store for him. Today, Tad is an Internationally-recognized public speaker, best selling author and inspiration to hundreds of thousands. Tad has dedicated his life to helping those that need it most. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

    I was bullied all my life, it starts with my family and you get used to thinking you somehow deserve it.

      NO ONE deserves to be bullied! NO ONE!!! What happened to you was an injustice. I pray God’s love for you becomes so strong you can feel it for the rest of your life.

      I can help you heal, you do NOT deserve it, when people bully, it is from THEIR fragmented ego's & narcissism that causes the abuse, nothing to do with you! Sending you love light & healing

    This is so inspiring and hard to believe we still have this going on today. Sadly a lot of bullies including mean girls are created at home. I’ve talked to my daughter about not being a bully to anyone and to always try to take up for the under dog!!

    1:32 There is NOTHING wrong with being introverted, why would you want to interact with toxic socialites who play mind games and DEMAND YOUR ATTENTION while they drone on and on about mindless, mundane stupidity?

    • @hangryturtle9006
      @hangryturtle9006 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I EXPERIENCE AT WORK AND ITS MADE ME NOT WANT TO INTERACT ANYMORE EITHER!!! And I used to be an extroverted empath, so breaking me of my desires to talk and enjoy people took a lot of abuse, but they did it!!! Sad world we live in. John Calvin was truly correct when he coined the phrase “total depravity”.

    Christ, I could cry my eyes out listening to Tad. Never did he deserved that bulls**t behaviour from that wicked step-mother of his and his father was not much better. Nice to know how much more empowered he is now and that he fulfilled his dream. What a nice pleasant sounding voice he has as well. Highly articulate man. As an addition, what these bullies need most of all is sheer ridicule thrown in their direction to throw them off the scent. Needless to say, the bullies, who abhor being challenged, would further explode with rage, but that would just made them look even more ridiculous than ever. I think that is the best way to treat a bully, but should he/she lash out physically, he/she will deserve the best punishment that could ever be meted out.

    I was abused by my step dad. My Mom didn't do anything about it. I felt like I had no safe space at home to grow. I just wanted to leave the place, so I did. Got him in jail and left with my sister. He knew I did it to protect my sister from harm. One thing I get from bullies is to be loud, no matter how hard they shut ypu down. Write what they did to you word from word, a hidden journal, time and date it. Get proof. Audio, things like that then share without them knowing. What stays in the house, shouldn't happen. Stand up from bullies and or walk away. The more people do that and speak out. We can bring them down.
