I like to centre punch the mark on the shifter shaft because I've also had the mark come off . Great video Chris. To us non Harley types its an education. Thanks again my friend. Peace and love brother as always ✌️ ❤️
Hi, I did this on my 2013 XL1200C in July for the same reason. I used the Barnet as it seemed to have a lot of good reviews. It's worked well for 400 miles, only downside is; it squeals on take off, unless I'm very careful, I've heard this is not a problem, cars think its wheel spin and they want to race me! Anyway I was going to mention I used to live in your town on North Wall. I recognized the housing on one of your other videos, I left about 22yrs ago, I've lived in California now for 20 yrs! BTW: I had a similar mileage (22k miles), my spring plate looked OK. Nice channel, with some interesting videos, keep it up! 👌😀
Hi, what a small World, I’ve been here for 15 years and walk the dog down that way each morning. Thanks for watching and your encouragement, if everybody that watched subscribed I’d have quite a channel 🙂. I had heard that extra plate clutches can squeal and wondered if it was the strength of the spring? The Screamin Eagle one is a bit of a workout and I have been looking into the Clutchlite 687012 Easy Pull Clutch which is supposed to make it a bit easier to pull in. Ride safe, Chris
The extra plate doesn't require extra force, it seems a bit lighter to me. I fitted the carbon fiber ones, so I was thinking it may be the material. There is less clunk than with the stock ones. I knew a guy, Don, who lived on your street, I remember he bought a Harley back in about 2000 for his 50th, not sure if he still lives there?
@Bikervation sorry to jump into the conversation do the clutchlite 687012 just fit the original clutch peice with the bearings do you literally just swap the bottom for for the original ?? Cheers
Hi, thanks for watching The Clutchlite (3 different versions) reduces the power needed to pull the clutch by different ratios of the pulling mechanism. This is a link to the installation guide: www.clutchlite.de/en_installation.html yes you just take off the derby cover, slacken the clutch cable and replace the HD part. Hope that helps, Chris@@scousebikers
Hi..I enjoyed watching your vids... especially the one on the screaming eagle clutch install...can you tell me how did it workout the SE clutch is it better than the standard factory one as I may need one for my 04 1200 sportster....thanks John...
Hi, Thanks for watching. Very happy with the SE clutch, it just feels like more power is getting to the back wheel, and I’m SO pleased I got rid of the spring plate - that was going to cost some money had I not found it. The lever is stiffer but I don’t mind that and there’s several ways to make it easier to pull in if you want. So very pleased and way better than the standard one that was in the bike. Ride safe, Chris
It’s not clear to me what you’re asking? If you’re asking what tools do you need to replace the clutch I can’t give you a list. The very best thing you can do is get a workshop manual for your year and read up on changing the clutch, it should tell you what’s needed. One indispensable tool is a clutch spring compressor a bit pricey but these can be made, there’s lots of TH-cam videos on clutch tools. Hope that help a little, Chris
Thank you Chris. I bought one compressor from Amazon. But I think it didn’t do the work properly, because the spring plate wasn’t loose enough to let me take off the rings. That’s why I thought if I put the bike on 3rd or 4th gear before I loose the clutch cable if It would be easier to put that pressure on the spring plate to make it loose. Anyways, I think I have to buy a properly tool for this service. Thank you
@@rodrigomorais8302 Sorry I misunderstood your question. I agree the tool from Amazon is not very well made, I had to file the face of the spinning nut (thing with the handles) square with the body of the clamp. Also it was a bit more difficult than I thought but was being careful not to brake the spring. I don’t think there is any need to put the bike in gear as you hold the bit that would spin with a spanner. I just looked at that bit again on my video and can’t think of a better way of describing it. Del boy’s garage has some good videos on the sportster clutch that would be worth watching. Good luck, Chris
I dont even own a HD, but I enjoyed this so much. Thank you sir.
🙂 Wow that’s really nice of you to say, thank you, all the best, Chris

That would have been the answer, thanks for mentioning that, Chris🙂

Hello from sunny Florida. Great video. Has anyone ever told you that you look like Michael Caine the actor ? Subscribed.
Bugger, I always thought Michael Caine looked like me 🙂, thanks for watching.
in case you're unaware, the torque wrench with crow's foot must be at 90 degrees or you must do math to find the offset.
I was unaware, that makes good sense, thanks 🙂

Thank you, much appreciated.
What’s the gear we have to leave the bike to to this service?
