im pretty sure it did overheat. From just small amount of gameplay ,the cpu is thermal throttling and so is the gpu...the i7 8750h should easily boost to nearly 4Ghz .
Isn't the max temp for i7 8750h is 100C? Thermal throttling in it usually starts at 95°C, but the processor isn't constantly at 95. That or there's the turbo mode somewhere that they don't mention. Now I think about it they don't show the wattage in the MSi benchmark. Probably the manufacturers limit the wattage TDP to prevent it hits the boiling point. The GPU definitely hits the thermal limit though.
I gotta say, for 500$ that is probably the best laptop you could get, 1060, an i7 and a 144hz display? Banger deal no doubts. Perhaps just as a quick note, since you guys use a massive mousepad under every laptop review, I think you're not doing a big favor to the laptop temps, I know that a laptop base is technically not included but perhaps using one or just using the table you would still have better airflow for that poor i7 to breathe, although to be fair those are fairly normal temps for a laptop, specially being that thin.

tbh gaming laptop imo is an extremely poor concept, to even get decent performance, you need pay a big premium, sacrifice screen size, have good air flow, bunch of peripherals and a huge power brick plugged in at all times which basically kills the portability, which ironically is the sole selling point of a laptop, and you still get thermal throttling to a degree, in the end its a master of none getting the worst of both sides. The only wise decision is to have a dedicated high end rig at home for gaming and heavy use, and a high end productivity laptop(e.g. MacBook M2/ Lenovo Thinkpad) for doing work on the go. playing immersive AAA games in a crowded coffee shop with your gadgets and power brick all hanging around during lunch break is dumb anyways. This is an ok deal but not as good as you might think when for just about $1k you have a i9/3080 tier laptop in the all AMD ROG Strix 15 w/ the R9/6800m combo and the crazy 2k 165hz IPS display. I think the sweet spot for laptops in general is about the $7-800 price point for those with a desktop system too. I went a little overboard but the deal is too good to pass up on that model. TBH there isn't much more you can get out of laptops in general other than DDR5 ram in the G14s which are a few hundred more and not worth IMO. The M16 is worth a look though too. Razer really isn't that good of a value brand.
they probably don't run on the same screen and have the same resolution, that makes a huge difference. Running a 34 inch ultrawide 6k monitor 280fps is leagues above running a 14 inch 1080p laptop monitor 200fps, even if its "just" a 80 fps difference. The gpu power difference needed is insane. What's the name of the laptop
Yo
His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy
You made it! Nice 👍🙂
A GTX 1060! HOW HARD IS IT TO MENTION THAT IN YOUR DESCRIPTION! Who gives a damn about the SSD!?!!
I was comparing this to try to find Tbros benchmark with my xps 17 9700. wow surprised that that laptop is doing so well. Mine should be even better GeForce RTX 2060 with Max-Q Design . I'm going to sell my big gaming pc and just use my laptop.
2600 bux and not even a mux switch? Prime example of how you pay for the razer logo more than the laptop
Like it, but sadly this laptop don't have VRR/FreeSync/Gsync because lcd connected to intel hd igpu
Dude ope. That thing up and change thermal paste use synapse to change performance mode I guarantee your not running in performance mode
Can y’all review this pre build pc at best buy iBUYPOWER Slate MR Gaming Desktop - Intel i3-10105F - 8GB DDR4 Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB - 480GB SSD
I have a similar laptop also from Razer Blade Advance 15, but mine has an i7-10875H CPU with 16 GB of ram and an RTX 2080S Max Q GPU and a 1 TB SSD and my display is 1080P at 300Hz refresh. Mine seems to be slightly newer than this, from early to mid 2020.
Pretty capable laptop, but i wouldn't give up my desktop PC ever.
what's your spec? Mine's GTX 1080 OC'd, 6700HQ OC'd and undervolted by -155mV, 32GB DDR4, 2x256Gb SSD and a 3Tb external mechanical spinning disc. I've got "top binned" everything. The spinning disc is custom, my GPU is in the top 1% of stock cooled overclocks, for all machine types, including desktops, with desktop 1080 GPU's, hitting 72C at peak. Can you guess who made it yet?
tl:dr the Razer Blade Pro 2016 makes your desktop look small to me, screw Rocket League, maxed out, modded, 1080p, Ultra Godrays Fallout 4, locked at 60fps with V-Sync on mine, would make the laptop in this video cry and max out at 20fps or so, lol
@@RedPillRachel well regardless, i still feel that laptop for gaming is a very bad idea, even if the performance is decent, the battery life is gonna be crap and need to be plugged at all times. with that same money you spend on the laptop, getting a high end rig is just so much better and make more sense, using laptop for work and productivity on the go is the only wise decision.
@@grapefruitsyrup8185 you can barely speak english and you have an opinion this dumb on my £4000 laptop which I earned, and which still works (2022)?
@@RedPillRachel 4k pounds on a laptop is the dumbest thing here besides your bad english comprehension. and a 400 buck thinkpad from 1998 still works today, so whats your point? a laptop can never beat a desktop of the same price point in performance is a fact, get a grip.
I always wanted a razor gaming laptop one day I will afford one
Please add super people game test too 🙂
i just recently bought a 3050, i5-12450h and a 144hz display 8 gigs of ram (gonna ugprade) for 550$ usd (bought in cad though) yall think i did the right move to not waiting for black friday?
Bro you got a link for that id love to see that deal
@@wamlamwanla4722 the deals sadly gone its back up to the normal price rip, the deal was gone the moment i ordered it lmao
take the back off, let's see the dust. The perfect amount of thermal paste might help
It is an interesting option for good performance gaming laptop with affordable price!
I know its a silly question for second hand laptop, but I am curious about battery durability
Is it still okay? And what other factor I must considered for purchasing this Razer laptop?
Never get a used laptop, just get a lenovo ideapad gaming 3 they always are on good sales
@@loupara8714 thank you for your comment!
Yes its better to buy new lapto with new model right
@@loupara8714 laptop for gaming is dumb anyways, just get a desktop. but lenovo laptops are seriously good and worth the money, but wise people would buy it for productivity despite the name being gaming. it just makes zero sense to have laptop for gaming.
@@grapefruitsyrup8185 you know people have to move ? If you need to game while moving you can't get a laptop
@@loupara8714 for those people who have no permanent house/ digital nomads/ RV life/cant afford desktops type of people, those are special cases, of course you have additional requirements you need to consider and priorities to take care of. my comment is 100% true for most people out there with normal circumstances and you know it.
Can you try out the Dell G7 17 7700
Try to get a good deal on a MSI used gaming pc or laptop I dont think you guys cover msi much
how many fps on assetto corsa?
You guys can add keyboard on it?
Heyy... great review!!
I'm thinking of buying this laptop but I'm hearing from different reviews that this pc has a BSOD problem and it doesn't use its GPU at all in terms of 3d rendering and vfx editing
I'm an graphics designer and video editor and the prices are still pretty high in my country(around $800)
Pls has this issue been resolved or should I just get a dell xps 15 2018 model instead
I wouldn't want to spend $800 on a laptop and have it crashing on me
I'll appreciate you're response thanks!!
I have the Razer Blade 2018 (Base Model) since 2019 and never had the BSOD issue, now I'm running Windows 11 with no problem at all. You should go with the Razer, because you will have better graphics card (gtx 1060 instead of 1050), so you can also play games...
how did u buy for cheap it costs alot
When they buy an “old” Razer laptop but it’s still newer than the one I use 💀
Bruh love the vids
Still rocking the the aero 15v8 same cpu but with 1070 Max Q and 32gb of ram from the same time, 2017-2018 was the golden time for intel laptops moving from 4c4t to 6c12t then 8c16t in rocket lake and rtx 20's was questionable alas around 2019 ye'ole covid 19 wrecked every gpu and ryzen was far more compelling looking at you Asus g14
love ur content alway watch your vids.
plug in key boards ftw
This or the 1650 one?
I have an MSI with the same i7 and 1060 6GB and it doesn't get nearly that hot. Did u have to fans on quiet or was that full blast? I've barely used mine since 2018 tho, not sure if that matters.
@realtoastybros that's awesome I won. Do u need my debit card info?
@@fugginrambo It's a scam
@@avoni9348 Hahaha I was messing with them. Thanks for looking out tho!
Me: reads title.....
Also me: what do YALL consider cheap razer laptop?
"cheap" is a relative term when you're talking about Alienware 😂
You gys form Australia???
WE 🎉 NEED 🎉 A PREBUILT🎉 THAT🎉 IS🎉 UNDER 🎉 400🎉🎉🎉
That’s insane the rtx 4090 runs rocket league at 280fps avg and the laptop gtx 1060 gets an avg of 200 fps 🤯
they probably don't run on the same screen and have the same resolution, that makes a huge difference. Running a 34 inch ultrawide 6k monitor 280fps is leagues above running a 14 inch 1080p laptop monitor 200fps, even if its "just" a 80 fps difference. The gpu power difference needed is insane. Looking at the numbers out of context is plain misleading.
I have a question, my laptop is a MacBook Pro from 2019 I got it for $650 but still I get low fps like 30-40 per game. Is there any thing I can do to fix this ?
Macbooks aren't good for gaming
That looks good for 500 bucks… I would buy it for my kids.
Didn't know cheap and razer could be in the same sentence 🤔
The cpu and GPU temps💀💀
500?.... That's not razer... No way. That gotta be modified
I have exactly that laptop!
I like it! It’s cost 49 000kr that like 4 900 euro!
Such a nice laptop honestly
I actually have this laptop and upgraded last year to the razer blade 14 3070 I have to be honest the 1060 in this laptop is good but it just doesn’t get good performance in call of duty or any new game for that matter this laptop was good for its time but is incredibly out dated now and it gets really hot because it has no vaper chamber
Like my birthdays at saturday i could use me a laptop of gaming
Hey at a Staples store near me I saw Razor theme gaming chair!!!!!!!!!!
Youre katana is wrong way you cant put it on the stand with the blade down it will dmadge the blade also turning it to the right means youre in a war ;)
any gaming laptop suggestions for $700-$800 budget?
Gaming doesnt fit with laptops. I would get a pc for gaming and laptop for school or work. There re too many limitations on laptop gaming
@@zeronin4696 maybe they travel a lot so a gaming laptop would make sense in their situation
Steam deck?
You can get a refurbished laptop with an rtx 3060 in that budget
Acer nitro 5
Pov: you bought a laptop for 2k 6 years ago but its drastically worse than a 400 dollar laptop ☠️
can i buy it?
Great Video!
Thank you Seth Rogen!
What you guys do with these laptops ?
