The reason you can hear Serj and Daron is because these guys will play the song fully in the recording room and later on record the bits and pieces. Now why you hear both of them is because John's drums were already ready for the mix and the mics captured Serj. You can hear he isn't singing the right way.
It's more likely to be spill from his headphones. Drums are usually the first track to get laid down properly, but the other band members will record something rough that he can record drums too (I'm a drummer and this is what I've always done). If they were all playing in the room together you'd hear them much louder, so it's more than likely to be from his headphones :)
@@thenewnostalgic4094 At the time when this album was recorded, it wasn't uncommon for all the tracks but vocals to be recorded at the same time. That's often been Rick Rubin's approach, especially for rock bands like this one who have a lot more energy when playing together. The only thing that gets recorded later is vocals and some minor overdubs. Serj was probably just signing a scratch vocal so the band members knew when to change parts.

This is helpful as I'm trying to learn this song on drums myself and I'm struggling to understand the part after the amazing Tom work.

Double snare sounds good in the song
I thought Kristina Rybalchenko was playing something different. I like what she did. It's a lot of snare though.
