And i love them! they are so recognizable. I'm not a drummer and i recognize the Ramones guy, Bonham, Moon and Lars and that should tell you everything about Lars.
Imagine an album with the Ride The Lightning guitar tone, ...And Justice For All vocals, Black Album drums, and Cliff. This would be the best. Anyone else agree?
Metal Forever I think best would be Justice guitar tone, Ride The Lightning bass tone, Black album drums, cliffs riffs like on master and ride and black album jasons bass playing on record, since cliff was really sloppy on records ans jason played perfectly on records (listen to fight fire with fire bass only and then wherever i may roam bass only
Justice's guitar tone 100%, Vocal also Justice or Black Album probably, Black Album drum, Master's Bass. Other than Vocals(though lot of people loves it), RTL has pretty much everything you need and MOP is pretty much perfect. But I prefer Justice overall for the tone and riffs.
Does anyone know what hit hats were used ? They sound dark but not super dark. I love the wash of them, they're precise sounding but wash musically at the same time.
G Birdo in the video a year and a half, and the vid for nothing else matters, they show Lars using SABIAN hats, the kit was a Gretsch and the snare was a Tama bell brass.
@@bigmoneyjackson2385 Yes. Sabian 15'' Rock Hats (heavy top & bottom), certainly HH serie (just compare the sound to AJFA or Load to DM who used a Bright Hi-Hats) with (top hats logo on the top) like HTSD album. For the Crashes, he used a A's traditional mix of 17 & 18'' Medium-Thin & 17, 18 & 19'' Medium and 2 China, one A's 20'' China Boy on the front & a K's on the back. Mounted on a 1980 Gretsch USA Custom Maple, 2 bass drum 24x16'', 4 toms 12x9, 13x11, 14x13 & 16x16'', one floor of 18x16'' and a Tama King-Beat 14x6.5'' Bell Brass Snare.
Less gating and reverb effects. After the 90s that "huge" gunshot style drumming fell out of favor and more natural sound became the norm. Couple that with conversions from analog to digital recording and drums typically sound radically different today.
@@BigboiiTone drums nowadays don't really sound natural, a lot are samples. I guess it depends what kind of music you listen to, but a lot of metal seems to have not natural sounding drums
These are obviously unedited raw tracks. On the final recording the kick drum is a lot punchier and has more snap to it. Also the Tom's sound better on the actual mixed song
If you're wearing headphones you can faintly hear James singing
I was about to comment that lol
Yeah i can imagine lars practicing with the song playing in the background on his phone. Although lars would never practice! Lol
You can also hear the guitar 🎸
I hear it on computer audio very clearly
Black album has the best sounding drums on any record I’ve ever heard
This snare is just so good. Sounds explosive but not too loud, like that fucking abysmal st. Anger snare.
They picked Bob because of the sound on Dr.Feelgood. Similar tones.
Stone Temple Pilots has some awesome drum sounds too. Brendan O'Brien and his Piccolo Snares
And justice for all has better :D
Completely agree!
The most powerful drums ever recorded
Psychosocial - Slipknot (drums only). (And i dont listen to slipknot)
@@Davesv
Well you should, cause they don't sound as powerful.
2:15 that drum fill tho
and 3:34
This song changed my life, drums in particular.
Man that solo was unbelievable
the absolute epitome of 90's hard rock/ heavy metal drum sound..
God damn i love that snare
That snare is God-like. People can talk shit about Lars, but the Black Album drum tracks are pure ear sex.
that heavier-than-hell d r a a a a g after the snare fill at 5:01. just massive.
the drum fill at 4:36 is crazy
4:37-4:42
Bucket a fish, bucket a fish.
thats a juicy sound
I lost 😫
@Shallex hey shallex found you
1:12-1:16 👏👏👏
2:15 I love this fill
Wonderful!
and 3:34!
Sad but true drum is simple but m so addicted..🤘
Lars knows what to put where, he gives tye right trip, right stimulation.
His drumming is amazing 🤩
Lars and his drum fills

Simply the best! I love!
Listen closely and you can hear the other parts of the song
Danny Wilson i did hear it lol
Most of the drums where recorded "live".
@@Silverado5150MKII no they weren't but you can get bleed from lars headphones.
0:21😍😍
u can still hear the song
In mi opinion lars is the best drumer! Period.!😆😆😆😆😲😲😲!
HAHAHAHAHAHA OBVIOUSLY NO MAN... I mean, Don't you know an Album called And justice for all?
Sorry but dave lombardo does it for me just listen to seasons in the abyss
Lars is definitely not the best drummer in my opinion but I think he is pretty good and gets way too much hate.
metal 4 ever ride the ligning dj z lmao 😂
Evgeny Novikov (Ex-Katalepsy drummer) would DESTROY Lars in drumming
the FATTEST snare sound ever recorded
Its like a marching beat👍
I read a comment a while ago that said Lars was the owner of both the best sounding snare drum in the world and the worst.
That snare !
Man, sounds weirdly simple let for the fills that stand out in the original track and are just perfect, very weird and good
were would i find an mp3 of this !?
Napster
Tone Thicc 😂😂😂👍
Just convert man

That could be arranged
That wouldn’t fit on one recording. Too massive.
That’s the worst tone besides st anger or death magnetic

I don't think Lars was wearing a hat while recording the black album.....

@Shallex hey shallex
Eric Carr's drum sound on Creatures Of The Night makes this sound like bongos.
Why doesn’t his drums sound like this anymore? What does he do different?
Less gating and reverb effects. After the 90s that "huge" gunshot style drumming fell out of favor and more natural sound became the norm. Couple that with conversions from analog to digital recording and drums typically sound radically different today.
1. The wood the drums are made from
2. The audio recording tech used (old school analog vs. new digital)

he sounded like this in the show of 2020
its the room.. tbh
👍👌

Listen carefully and you may hear Hetfield telling you how it is
folk metal
3:08
I always thought Sad but Trues drum sounded like/similar ro Harvester of sorrow, The grooves and everything sound similar to me
Who hearing guitar?
Hundred percent sure I can still hear the guitars but very faint
not that 'very faint'
You should see how they recorded the album
When you think about it, Lars is simultaneously the owner of the best drum sound ever and the worst drum sound ever
