@@SlanderedGaming Thank you! It doesn't have to be long, just hover long enough over each so we have time to pause and read. They might not have a lot of mechanical impact, but there are those of us who'd like to have some additional RP information to shape our idea of our characters.
Thanks for the breakdown on which skills were most important. I think I'll still try to cover everything with my party, but it's good to know what to prioritize.
The more details provided the more I think the Forge World Crime Lord Warrior/Arch Militant character I am going to work on is going to be more fun than I originally thought.
@@SlanderedGaming not that difficult since it has a passive called Board Expertise which adds WS to gun attacks or BS to Melee attacks. That way characters can fully utilize the One-handed melee weapon and Pistol weapon combo set up since they will only need to focus on Weapon Skill or Ballistic skill. You will need to get the Dual Weapon Combat passive to fully utilize this benefit. It is the Advance Job players want if they want to use One-handed melee weapon and pistol build or constantly switch between melee weapon and range weapon.
This is what I was looking for! Going to love playing this and hoping it’ll bring back memories of playing rogue trader and dark heresy. Keep up the great videos.
The more info I see the more I’m set on making a melee focused crime lord. Apparently with forge world and crime lord you can make basically everything scale with int so a criminal that’s just as deadly as he is skilled with tech as he is persuasive all with int sounds awesome. Time to make a space scumbag worthy of Tony Montana.
Yeah, I know they can't just wholesale copy Rogue Trader, but not having Toughness act as a second layer of armor, or Deflection as they call it, was a major failure.
Why is ballistic skill not useful as an operative? You didn't explain this at all. I would expect for a ranged damage operative to like both intelligence and ballistic skill but am I wrong?
I think it's because Operatives and Officers usually have much better things to do in combat than just whacking away at an enemy, but that's just my guess.
@omarmukhtar3151 you can usually fit other things during your turn but in playtest was usually a good idea to spend some of your AP attacking. I'd be surprised if you consistently had something better to do with that AP than, say, killing an enemy, but I'm not as knowledgeable as the people with access to the latest stuff.
Because by investing in Intelligence and Agility/Perception instead your buffs/debuffs are much more effective and consequently your attacks are more effective than they would be if you dumped a bunch of points into Ballistic Skill.
Ranged damage Operatives are indeed kind of niche: Isida(?) , e.g. , comes as a Psyker Operative, leaning probably into Bounty Hunter ( covering sniper and some team-wide support) as Archetype. - And, she has actually only little affinity for ballistic weapons. The alternative Archetype routes benefit even less: Assassin is melee; Grand Strategist full support.
Like Magnus said it's hard to answer that because the later acts aren't available. Thus far I haven't ran into any quest stopping bugs in the first two Acts.
I want to make a officer with a navy background that uses guns. But it seems like those dont match gamepay wise would love to see a guide on how to do that and other combos that could be hard to make work. Other than that always appreciate the info.
Feels weird that Weapon skill and strength seem to have minimal benefits on combat, guessing front line buisers should just invest heavily in toughness and maybe agility instead then?
Either Agility or Weapon skill since you still l want o reduce enemies ability to parry your melee attacks. If you are wearing heavy armor it's questionable how much adding more dodge really helps you and if you have an Officer on the field you can ensure your tank goes first even if they have Low Agility.
The easiest way to get the bonus you have is to take the first digit of the characteristic you are using ( example : AGI 47 -> attribute bonus is 4 . STR 51 -> attribute bonus is 5. )
It'd be funny/depressing if Hapsburg-level inbreeding was a drawback to the noble background, since many of the books make mention of how bizarre much of the imperial nobility is by 40k. "For this turn, I attack using my foot long chin!" "Your warp trickery has no effect on me, because I'm too demented to understand I should be terrified!"
As a Pathfinder 1ed TT gamer, I think Ive been spoiled with deep mechanics and options. As much as I love BG3, its the branching story and great graphics and cut scenes that has kept me doing multiple play thrus. Rouge Trader, just seems...meh. So Im really looking forward to watching yours and a few others 'lets play' before I make a commitment to buy.
It's not a big deal, but carouse is pronounced as kuh-rowz, the latter syllable rhyming with pow, chow, or, appropriately for the WH40k universe: Tau. 😆 Some people like to know, others don't. Neat video though.
Okay I missed the part where he actually went over triumphs and darkest hours... As far as I can tell he just read off the basic description of the stats.
I mean honestly if he wants to believe that they're inconsequential that's perfectly fine but it's sheer stupidity to include the subject matter in the header for the freaking video and then not actually mention the subject matter.
I just want to see the triumphs and darkest hours for each class 😞
YEP.
Oh my bad. I'll make a video for that.

@@SlanderedGaming yes, that would be splendid! much appreciated !
Getting nostalgia right back to when you did these videos for WOTR, love your content dude this is great.
Me too it's a ton of fun making these videos.
Same!
Always fun hanging out and listening to ur analysis brother Slandered. Thank you

I still remember whe you where a small channel ma man look how far you come its makes me happy ;-D

Arch Militant is so odd to me. LOL Looking forward to figuring out how to make it effective.

Nice. It'll be a while before I make my way over to Crime Lord so looking forward to seeing how people like it.
Darkest Hour: Unironically liked the first Mortal Kombat movie.
Greatest Triumph: Unironically liked the first Mortal Kombat movie.
😂😂
Many people liked it, the darkest hour would be liking the second movie

Tanks arent so tanky here
Seems to me that Toughness should add armor or Deflection while Carouse is what decides your ability to resist negativity effects.
Yesss…great video. Gonna do one on builds for companions?
Absoilutely!

Interesting. I don't know if I value agility as highly but I can see preferring perception.
Cant wait for the op guides class combo guides to come out.
Yup unfortunately the respec mechanic doesn't work properly right now so not sure if the builds will come out before the full release.
What changes have been made to ship combat? In particular, what is the ship customization like?
I'll do a video on that.
I have a different question, what is the current technical state of the game? Do you think in december it will be playable without major bugs?
Well they're hiding the later acts for a reason lol it's definitely going to be buggy
Like Magnus said it's hard to answer that because the later acts aren't available. Thus far I haven't ran into any quest stopping bugs in the first two Acts.
Litty video my man, I am imagining that the all classes and abilities are on the way?
Yup Grand Strategist is coming out tomorrow. :)
Any plans for covering the different types of ships and upgrades and battle stations?
Yup I absolutely will do that.

What if I want a sniper character?
Marksmen with Ballistic Skill will help you with that.

Gotcha okay I'll keep that in mind.
I've got a voidborn officer that I really really want to play. Not sure if I should go pcyker or not
Voidborn will help some of your percentage chance Psyker abilities to connenct.
Could you cover best Talents for each companion? Specially that navigator lady, she has so many navigator options i couldnt decide!

Nobun is correct. Ten percent of your total stat rounded down.

Aw damn. They got rid of Ballistic skill as BS. Always thought that was kinda funny. Toilet humor.
It's still referred to sometimes as BS in the class descriptions. LOL
