I’ve read 9 of The Vampire Chronicles, and I think the AMC series absolutely KILLS it! The entire cast is extraordinary, and seeing Assad Zaman portray Armand in Season 2 elevated the show even more. Delainey Hayles as Claudia and Luke Brandon Field as young Daniel-also brought so much depth to their roles. Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid have undeniable chemistry as actors, and Louis & Lestat's relationship is so compelling you can’t help but root for them. The writers and production team deserve endless praise too.
The confession scene in the church to this day is amazing. The pilot and season 2 episode 5 is absolutely immaculate. Assad Zaman is such an incredible actor, his Armand is phenomenal. Also, shout out to Luke Brandon Field to his ability to copy Eric Bogosian's body language and his ability to just copy is amazing.

I haven't been able to watch anything else since I discovered IWTV in June, nothing compares. The acting, the characters themselves, the wardrobe and the cast are all amazing. S2EP5 changed my life. I love all the characters, obsessed with Louis and Claudia. It's so good I even got Twitter just for IWTV art. It even got me into Fanfiction. It has crack in it. Thank you for spreading the word. Speaking of the outfit Rockstar Lestat walked out in, the choker also resembles the cut Louis gave him after the Ball. He even started season 2 with his wound in tack on Dreamstat 😂 The toxicity is strong 💪 😂😅
It sucks to see that because of Nosferatu everyone is talking about vampires and bringing up the movie Interview with the vampire, True Blood, The Lost Boys, The Vampire Diaries and even Twilight but no one is talking about the SHOW Interview with the Vampire!!! The writing, casting, music and especially the acting from Jacob and Sam is outstanding. It truly deserves all the awards and recognition but we are not getting any I don’t know why. @@bayfondI don't usually recommend it, book Louis is a very weak character and obviously the story depends on him, the show had to do a good work to make him a fully realized character. like the book is basically the author coping with grief and you feel that, the issue is that you only feel that lol so it gets boring and pretentious fast. now, she starts to really pick up with story from the second book onwards, so i recommend it if you want to start the book series.
Umm. Jacob Anderson, Assad Zaman and Eric Bogosian too Jacob mastered a nawlins accent without a vocal coach and plays off the chemistry with Sam masterfully. Not to mention his composure giving this interview. His flowers should be as high as Sam, especially when compared to Brad Pitt's performance. Assad is incredible too. He does two very convincing accents and plays Armand perfectly to the book. Both innocent tragic and evil. Eric is perfect as the traumatised and no nonsense interviewer.

Everytime I've heard anyone speak badly of the series it's immediately followed by "because _ is Black". It's getting exhausting constantly hearing it. I love the Series so much, and it deserves so much more recognition imo. The Actors, Producers, Directors & everyone involved did phenomenal. There's so much detail and love poured into it. I'm so excited for Season 3.

When I first heard about the show I was a little concerned about all of the changes they made to Louis, but that opening sequence with Jacob reading the letter to Daniel ending with his beautiful face in Dubai solved any issue I had. I really think the first episode was the best pilot I have ever seen. I almost forgot to breathe during the final sequence from the funeral procession all the way through the church wedding. Just stunning!
This show is absolutely perfect. Im obsessed and im mad amc didnt do a better job promoting it. I mean, that first ep was just so incredible, i was hooked. I had never been so struck by a pilot ep since Attack on Titan. Im in complete agreement with you about the music. The music in this show is amazing. The song that plays when Louis is drunk and wet and pathetic and trying to find comfort somewhere is incredible. I have the song that plays during the trial in my head nearly at all times. And dont get me started on the performances. That confession scene deserves all the awards. All of them. And the apology from Lestat is just as award worthy. I mean, i cant say enough good things about this show. The haters that like to pretend the show sucks because its not book accurate with a slave owning protagonist and all white characters...well, you have the book and the movie if those things mean that much to you For the rest of us? Easily the best show from 2024.
This was great. Excellent job. I love when people discover this show. Shame people have to find it and it's not on everyone's lips like game of thrones, because agree, it is without a doubt one of the best shows on television and as good as breaking bad or Mr robot imo. And I am old school lover on the books - started reading them in the 80s. Not a huge fan of the movie. And I adore this adaptation- I think the changes make the story better. Cannot wait for season 3 of course.

I know this show exists when it first came out but I didn't really pay attention to it, it was just like one day I'll watch it type of show for me, but season 2 came out I decided to give it a chance and it has ruined every other show for me I'm literally obsessed I never pay attention to fanfiction and I have been reading a lot of FanFictions every single day just to help me wait for season 3 to come out

All the actors are great, especially Jacob (Jacob’s accent work is chef’s kiss!) !!! But I think Assad Zaman deserves some flowers too! His performance is just as amazing as the others (I didn’t hear you mention him by name like the others, so my apologies if you did). I think because he plays a character that’s not as loud or flamboyant as Lestat, it gets overlooked sometimes (which is a real shame). But i think once people watch the show a second time (or third lol), they start to notice a lot of acting choices that he makes that are just brilliant ❤ Anyway, glad you loved the show as much as us fans do!
I agree Tom Cruise's performance was subpar. He could not even manage a French accent. It was the 90s and they were too conservative to truly explore the obvious romantic aspects of the relationship in the book, which also made the movie not as deep as the series.

I've been in a huge vampire phase since then, and before this show I've never really had any interest in vampires at all (I'm in my 20s, and the whole "teenage vampire phase" just kind of went over my head). had read first four Vampire Chronicles books by now and cannot wait to see how the show will adapt them!
I've become obsessed with this show, I'm from Mexico and the is NO marketing at all here! I feel like a preacher going to my friend and family "do you know of our lord and savior Lestat de Lioncourt?" I've watched it 4 times and could watch it again no problem. For anyone who needs someone to talk to about the show i recommend the subreddit dedicated to the show, there is so much interesting discussion of the whole show, from the acting, character motivations, set design and more!
We fans of IWTV are so spoiled! I went to see Noseferatu, and while I can see that it it super well-made and gorgeously filmed, etc -- it just doesn't pack the emotional punch that I have gotten addicted to! Can't wait for S3!!
I tried to avoid watching the series (I'd already seen both movies and was a huge fan of the OG movie) but I ended up binging both seasons of IWTV last summer (I finished S2 in three days) and I've been screaming to everyone I can how good it is. One of the most incredible shows (and casts) on TV...bar none!

As someone who read the books as they came out yes I am old as dirt and loved them. I did not like either movie so I avoided this series. Boy was that a mistake. This series is better than the books!❤
"Let the tale seduce, just as I was seduced..." -Louis de Pointe du Lac Feels like this line is directed towards the fans and Anne Rice "purists". Let go of what you THINK you know from the books/movie and enjoy the ride. Love how this show doesn't fully break the 4th wall, more like 3.5 😉
This series was completely snubbed by the Emmys and Golden Globes. The showrunner and all of the production, crew, costuming, art direction everything, was done by people who were clearly serious fans of the material. I am thankful that Anne Rice herself was part of this before her death as well. It has her blessing and her mark all over it. If you are going to adapt and race swap characters that is the way to do it for sure. Sadly this was review bombed by haters and not given the chance and AMC did very little marketing-wise to overcome this. Everyone who has given this series a chance comes away CHANGED.

Yes!! This show will win awards if the show run in bigger channel like HBO.imo, TV series work so well because of Sam and Jacob chemistry and their acting talents. I prefer the series than the books because the books really dated imo. Since Lestat was Anne Rice's favourite character, he can get away with everything in the books.

I have not stopped shouting watch 🗣️INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE tv series for years now. Unfortunately the main reason it’s not given the appropriate accolades is good ol’ fashion racism. Whenever someone mentions it you get a bunch of comments from people claiming “Anne rice is rolling in her grave” or “they ruined the book” or “the movie is better.” All of these are unequivocally WRONG & FALSE, and what you’ll discover when you question these people is NONE OF THEM HAVE WATCHED THE SHOW! One girl that relentlessly called it terrible admitted she refused to watch it bc it was “pandering” which was code for “they cast black people.” Listen, the truth is they did make changes (name one book adaptation that hasn’t?!), but every single change ELEVATED the material. Changing Louis’ race actually made the character dynamic and interesting (book version was mopey, one-dimensional, and boring). I would argue IWTV is the first show in media history that’s BETTER than the book. As I stated, they ELEVATED the material and that is all any author would ever ask for from an adaptation of their work.
The biggest problem with the new chronology is that originally LeStat was a rock star in 1985-88, almost perfect.But rock is now a niche genre so his stick does not really fit as it did with 80s glam rock .Still, l will forgive it if they tell the story in part 3 as well as the first two.
Everyone in the world is aware that there is an interview with a vampire series I just don't think everyone agrees with the cast being changed from white to black

We fans of IWTV are so spoiled! I went to see Noseferatu, and while I can see that it it super well-made and gorgeously filmed, etc -- it just doesn't pack the emotional punch that I have gotten addicted to! Can't wait for S3!!
I’ve watched Interview with the Vampire 4 times. I love the show so much
I tried to avoid watching the series (I'd already seen both movies and was a huge fan of the OG movie) but I ended up binging both seasons of IWTV last summer (I finished S2 in three days) and I've been screaming to everyone I can how good it is. One of the most incredible shows (and casts) on TV...bar none!
Didn’t appreciate the kink shaming in the beginning cuz…that’s my man. But loved every other word out of your mouth about the greatest series ever!

Thank you for doing this video the show deserves so many awards so far season 2 is nominated for a critics choice award best series and best supporting actor for sam reid unfortunately the show missed the deadline for the Emmy's by two weeks i think the reason this show is under looked is because there's so many reboots and book adaptations that are bad like the wheel of time series but this show is actually great and deserves more attention even my mother loves this series never was a fan of the movie

As someone who read the books as they came out yes I am old as dirt and loved them. I did not like either movie so I avoided this series. Boy was that a mistake. This series is better than the books!❤

Feels like this line is directed towards the fans and Anne Rice "purists". Let go of what you THINK you know from the books/movie and enjoy the ride. Love how this show doesn't fully break the 4th wall, more like 3.5 😉

This series was completely snubbed by the Emmys and Golden Globes. The showrunner and all of the production, crew, costuming, art direction everything, was done by people who were clearly serious fans of the material. I am thankful that Anne Rice herself was part of this before her death as well. It has her blessing and her mark all over it. If you are going to adapt and race swap characters that is the way to do it for sure. Sadly this was review bombed by haters and not given the chance and AMC did very little marketing-wise to overcome this. Everyone who has given this series a chance comes away CHANGED.

Yes!! This show will win awards if the show run in bigger channel like HBO.imo, TV series work so well because of Sam and Jacob chemistry and their acting talents. I prefer the series than the books because the books really dated imo. Since Lestat was Anne Rice's favourite character, he can get away with everything in the books.

I have not stopped shouting watch 🗣️INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE tv series for years now.
Unfortunately the main reason it’s not given the appropriate accolades is good ol’ fashion racism. Whenever someone mentions it you get a bunch of comments from people claiming “Anne rice is rolling in her grave” or “they ruined the book” or “the movie is better.” All of these are unequivocally WRONG & FALSE, and what you’ll discover when you question these people is NONE OF THEM HAVE WATCHED THE SHOW! One girl that relentlessly called it terrible admitted she refused to watch it bc it was “pandering” which was code for “they cast black people.”
Listen, the truth is they did make changes (name one book adaptation that hasn’t?!), but every single change ELEVATED the material. Changing Louis’ race actually made the character dynamic and interesting (book version was mopey, one-dimensional, and boring). I would argue IWTV is the first show in media history that’s BETTER than the book. As I stated, they ELEVATED the material and that is all any author would ever ask for from an adaptation of their work.

The biggest problem with the new chronology is that originally LeStat was a rock star in 1985-88, almost perfect.But rock is now a niche genre so his stick does not really fit as it did with 80s glam rock .Still, l will forgive it if they tell the story in part 3 as well as the first two.
