    Am thinking of converting a small, covered trailer into a tiny house for fulltime living (I live in New Zealand - too many rainy days to live happily a car) and using my cargo van for storage and toys. Very interesting video. Thank you for making and posting it. (I loved Linda's calm, measured approach to the questions🙂)

    • @ceeceety2320
      @ceeceety2320 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's what I'm thinking. I need to be able to have a bit of room to relax inside on rainy days or whatever might cause me to need to be inside. I have my (now) work van that I could pull a cargo trailer with but I think a travel trailer would be more suitable since I have a wife and animals. I have plenty of time for now but retire in about 6 yrs. and hoping to hit it then. All the best to you from the US!

      Consider getting a new or used cargo van and converting it into a “tiny home on wheels”. It will be better built, insulated and less expensive than an RV. You can have it customized to your needs and comfort level.

      Hey Gilbert. I really downsized a lot. I had a bigger truck and a pull-behind camper. Due to lung cancer which I survived now but just one lung, I had a ton of medical bills and had to sell the truck and the camper I'm recovering financially but I downsize to a small 2020 Chevy Spark. I am 6 ft 2 but I took the back seats totally out and I bought myself a really nice Kodiak 9 by 8 all season tent. I put the tent cots, camp stove everything that I need in the back of the spark and even have a small 12 volt refrigerator that fits in the floorboard of the passenger side. My little dogs ride in the seat. I can set up the Kodiak tent within 10 to 12 minutes and have everything that I need with me. I have a small solar panel and a Jackery 240 power bank which will run the refrigerator for 20 hours. And recharge with the solar panel. I live in East Tennessee and love the mountains of this area and look for free campsites wherever I go. Good luck to you man. The Cadillac is great. Lots of room. If it runs good get yourself a tent and a bit of gear for camping and hit the road. If you live around Tennessee maybe I'll see you out there somewhere. Good luck to you.

    Good interview Bob. You had to encourage her to talk but did I’d skillfully and respectfully. I’d encourage the 4x4 pickup idea. Put a cap on the bed and you can remodel the bed into living space very cheaply. They’re are also a number of companies marketing lightweight, relatively inexpensive truck campers that are quite nice. Good luck to her. Kudos for chasing her dream.

    I can't really call it camper or vehicle living because it's not a full time thing but I've taken a lot of inspiration from channels like this one to build a simple overlanding setup in my 4wd pickup with a canopy on the back. I couldn't help it, I watched and watched all these videos and when I got my canopy put on the truck, I camped in it the very first night with no heat near freezing temps! Warm layers and a good sleeping bag made it enjoyable. I can't wait to slowly build it out and go on adventures. I'll eventually add solar and a few built in amenities.
