For anyone who is upset with me driving and filming. The truth is my wife was sitting on the back seat to help me film. It is against the law to film or text and drive in Canada. I do apologize for the shakiness. She had to film it a few times and in order to give her space, my right hand is holding on the bottom of the steering wheel. :-D
What a complicated and highly detailed piece for a watch maker. I appreciate the explanation, your watching skills are incredible ... thanks for showing us this Omega!!!
At 3:40 you mention that the minute and second hand should never go beyond the minute track. If so, the hands are replaced. Can this be generalized (is this the case with all vintage omega watches)? Thank you for your content!
This will apply to all Constellation with the Pie Pan dial. The hands will always be the dauphine type and the minute and second hand tips cannot go pass the crease of the minute track. Meaning the where the bevel/slant start.
I have, it is the version with the word OMEGA above the 6 o'clock instead of below 12 o'clock. Sold one last year on the site. Was in pristine condition.
when I first got my pie pan I freaked out because how small it was comparing it to your pictures, but now, ( after measuring it) I realize your wrist is very small
I have a 6 inch wrist. I do mention that in all of my for sale products on my website. Have mentioned a few times on some of my TH-cam video as well. Whenever you buy a watch, best to understand the size of the watch and not just assumed that it appears big on someone's wrist that it will be the same on your wrist. Some people get creative and would sketch out a watch and cut it out to try it on their wrist. :-)
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Is the watch still waterproof without the bezel (like after you opened it at 6:38? And could you have remove and re-install the crystal with just a regular crystal lift (instead using the 3095)?
@@mikes.2471 Good questions. When you are working on a vintage timepiece of this age, it is not guarantee for water resistant anymore. The term waterproof was also discontinued sometime in the 1970s as it was very misleading. But, by properly fitting the correct crystal and making sure that the gasket inside the crown is fresh and right size, the watch can still be water resistance. The bezel has nothing to do with water resistance on this model. It is there to make the watch appear nicer that's all. To put back the crystal, make sure you align and seat the crystal properly. Then you can use a regular crystal press with proper size dies to press it back in.
Wouldn't a half decent watch maker be able to service it, however? I mean, I wouldn't take it to a mall kiosk guy. Although, I always wondered if I'm allowed to outright ask if a watch maker has the tool 105.
Actually, my wife was sitting on the back seat and did the filming. I would not drive and text or film. That is against the law here in Canada. But I do apologize for the shakiness.

No apologies needed... More concerned about your wife in back seat..... Next time put one Omega on each wrist and drive with your knees:) haha
@@jadedarby7290 haha, she likes the back seat because of bigger space apparently. I did not force her there. I'm innocent. :-D
Excellent work. One of my favourite Omegas. Nice to see being handled in careful and expert hands.
Excellent video. This has taught me a lot about my 168.025. Keep 'em coming.

Some people try the regular crystal lift which can crack this sort of crystal.
@@TimelessHistoryChannel Right tools, correct results!
That movement is a piece of art.
A great video, very instructive ! Thank you very much for your time and work !
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Very interesting and complex.
Great Video- Much appreciated-Thanks a Lot!
Always to hear that.

Not a huge fan of modern omega but these vintage pieces 👌
Have you come across the 168.0065 which also has a 34mm case but said to be especially made for Japanese market.

Nice Watch 🇵🇹
Amazing!

elaborate engineering by omega. however, i'd skip this because it would be so troublesome to access the movement, let alone service it!
Unfortunately, a lot of collectible watches are made this way. You'll find uni-shell cases on Cartier, Longines, and so on...

Watching someone drive and film at the same time is frustrating and disappointing. Otherwise, great video as always 👍
